Despite having a scheduled time, we weren't seen until close to 4:00 PM. There was no clear organization in the line appointments and walk-ins were mixed together, and walk-ins were being taken before those with reservations. When our appointment time had already passed and we stepped forward to ask when we would be seen, we were criticized by others in line, which was uncomfortable and completely avoidable with proper line management. The most disappointing part was the actual interaction with Santa. There was little engagement with the kids, they weren't asked what they wanted for Christmas. This was especially frustrating since the reservation form specifically asks what your child wants for Christmas. What's the point of including that information if it's never used? We made an appointment expecting a smoother process and a more magical, personalized experience for our kids. Unfortunately, neither happened. Definitely not what we expected, especially during the holidays.

This is the company that takes post delivery baby pics at the hospital. I had pictures taken at Balboa hospital in San Diego by a different company that were extremely well done, and I expected Special Delivery Photos to be similar to those. Unfortunately they were not. These pictures were poorly done. There were no special poses- just the baby laying on their back on a blanket you provide in the clothes you dress them in. You would be better off taking the picture with your cell phone and printing them out yourself at Walmart. The price I paid for 8x10s, 5x7s and wallets with "birth announcements" was completely unsatisfactory. Their so called "birth announcements" are just faded envelopes for wallet size pictures that you can write your child's information on yourself (Hopefully you have nice writing). They are not pre-printed with your child's information. I found out later that printing the information on the pictures costs $15 extra, but they don't make that well known at the time of order. I tried calling the company 4 times to express my discontent, but they did not answer or return my calls for days. I am so disappointed in this company. They do have a return policy. If you return the pictures within 2 days you will receive a whopping 50% refund. So you still end up paying for crappy pictures that you don't even keep! I highly suggest you save your money and take your own pictures. You would be a lot happier making your own professional looking birth announcements at Walmart or Shutterfly. That's what I ended up doing. I wish someone had warned me before I wasted my money. Anyone else have a negative experience with this company? Good luck new moms and dads.

I found Marella through Yelp to help me take my maternity photos a month ago so it is only fitting…read moreI write her a review on Yelp after my experience! I was looking for someone who was reasonably priced and fun/reliable to work with while we were on our babymoon in Oahu. Enter Marella. She was super fast and responsive to my emails, sending me price packages and suggestions of where I could take photos based on where I was staying in Oahu. Since Marella herself is based in North Shore and there is a travel fee for her to go farther out, she mentioned to me a few of her associates and where they could take pictures with no travel costs. At first I was considering taking photos in Kailua or Lanikai since I love the aqua blue of the waters there, but Marella ended up giving me more recommendations of where we could go that was closer to our side of the island. We ended up going with her associate Michelle after looking through sample galleries of her associates' work and based on the pictures I liked from Michelle's gallery, Marella made more recommendations of where to go and what time of day to get the effect I wanted. She was never pushy for me to commit and offered me plenty of suggestions even before I booked her associate! Booking an associate is slightly cheaper than booking Marella, but she still does all the coordinating and the editing. The day before the shoot I texted Michelle to check in and made sure we were meeting at the agreed upon spot. Michelle actually wanted to meet further down the beach so it was a good thing I did check in! We had a lot of fun with her and felt very at ease during our photo session! She ended up taking a little longer than an hour because we were having fun and she had some ideas she wanted to try and we never felt rushed. Michelle would also adjust my hair or if anything looked kind of out of place and coach us when she needed to get the right angles to show off the bump. She was very professional and fun to work with and helped us incorporate a few props and specific photos I wanted! After the session, Marella did check in with us to see how it went and told us she would keep us posted on the edits. What I thought was pretty nice about her package was that with the associate package, we got to pick out 30 from our fully edited gallery, or pay an additional amount per photo, or buy the whole gallery for another $100. I think because Marella edits the whole gallery for you to choose from, her post production time ends up being longer than some other photographers. She originally said 4-5 weeks but because I was having a baby shower sooner that I wanted to use some of the photos at, she managed to get me the gallery at 3 weeks. We bought the entire gallery for the extra $100 and got almost 150 photos!! It was totally worth the extra money since I liked almost all the photos! I really appreciated her trying to figure out what I wanted as a client and being flexible to fit that. I wouldn't mind using her and her associates again in the future if I were in Oahu and needed a photo session. And I found her prices very reasonable and her work to be reliable and professional! A few of my friends who are from Hawaii even asked me to tell them more about the photographer because they liked the photos :) Thank you Marella!!
