So as we were there they were bringing out fresh breads. I saw they had pepperoni bread and figured since I loved their breads it had to be good. But to my surprise it was not up to par. The bread was good but it was way short on pepperoni. I will have to stick to where I get my pepperoni bread at "west lake bakery and deli" in Erie. See pictures to judge for yourself. I was traveling to a store in Fairlawn until some of the produce I purchased there were old, rotten--avocados looked like they were unedible or frozen and then defrosted but that is the subject of another review of THEM. Continuing with the nice produce from Heinens I am very happy with it. IF anything is ever not to my satisfaction they gladly give me a refund without a hassle. The people are super friendly and helpful. If I ask for help with something on a higher shelf due to a shoulder injury they are most willing to stop what they are doing and help. The checkout cashiers are likewise very pleasant. It is nice to go in and have a short chatty conversation about weather, products, or whatever might come up. Once I broke something throwing it away outside and within a few seconds someone came up and told me not to worry about it and cleaned it up straight away---no shame expressed to me for this embarassing thing. When I am in the store people always ask me in the produce department if they can help me find something. Heinens also sends me emails with deals specifically to my history of purchases. That is so cool. These personal deals are in addition to weekly deals. I would purchase more of the prepared foods if they did not contain so much of the canola/soy. Now I have not checked them recently but it seemed everything, as good as it looked had these oils I would rather avoid. I would like some organic choices with REAL olive oil for those of us who eschew the aforementioned oils. I know they try and carry organic products that are packaged---the more the better to increase my choices. One other thing is sometimes the smell of laundry soap or fragrance is somehow on fruit like peaches. Last year I brought them back with no issue but I would love to buy peaches and the thin skinned fruit there if it did not smell and hence tastes like eating laundry soap. So it is a nice shopping experience overall and using them now for my produce. Again, this is my first choice for shopping and go there several times a week. Glad they are doing a good job overall and they strive to improve I know. I don't aim to say anything mean but hope this is balanced and honest. I love Heinens. Thank you.

The fruit and vegetables are fresh and the prices are usually lower then you will find at your grocery store. They do a nice job of keeping everything clean and organized. They have a nice little bakery, deli and packaged foods. I usually find something new most times I visit since they rotate in different products, including beer and wines. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Although a bit outside my usual neighborhood, Produce Place Market is always worth a visit to stock my kitchen when I am in the area. They have a second location on Mayfield Road.

This Giant Eagle is smaller than others within driving distance. However, because they're local,…read morethey're convenient. Sometimes I'm not able to find the same items at this location vs another. On a most recent visit, we went shopping for items to complete our thanksgiving day feast. Giant Eagle seemed to have some of the better prices compared to other grocery stores. Not everything was cheaper, but a majority of the items were. We needed to pick up a turkey, side fixings, condiments, random veggies, household items and bread - you know, for the stuffing. The main reason for our visit was for the turkey, they were offering their brand turkeys for $0.49 a pound. This was nearly half of other competitors pricing. We noticed they had carried a bread by a name brand specifically made for "stuffing". It was un-sliced, more dense, about 16 oz vs 20oz worth of product for $0.99 - same price as the Giant Eagle white sliced bread. We figured we would try it.. 8 loaves later, we moved on to grab our other items & then headed to the checkout. We weren't asked for our loyalty card, or phone number. When I mentioned it, the lady said whenever we were ready we could tell it to her so she could add it. The items were rang up & we were given our total, it seemed fairly higher than the math I did in my head.. neither here nor there, I forgot to give her my phone number so she could pull my loyalty information. She also didn't ask for it.. both our faults. When I checked the screen in front of me, I noticed the bread rang up at $2.49 PER loaf. When we selected the bread from the shelf, it was marked at only $0.99. She said no problem, she called a manager over for a price check. The manager seemed bothered, but went to check the price for us. Several minutes later.. which seemed forever long since the bread isle wasn't that far away from the checkout area.. she returned. She informed us that the bread was placed in the wrong area on the shelf. The actual price is $2.49 per loaf, not $0.99. She didn't say sorry, she didn't offer to price match it, she didn't offer anything. She literally walked away without a word. She took a while in the isle because she actually moved ALL of the product during this time. Instead of returning to us with the pricing and moving it afterwards. We had several people behind us in line that wasn't too happy either. We kindly asked the cashier to remove all 8 loaves from our bill, we didn't want to pay such a large difference. She was quiet about it, read us the new total and we paid so we could leave. We ended up getting bread elsewhere. $7.92 total vs $19.92 = $12 difference that actually paid for our 22 lb turkey.... Anyways, make sure to check the sale signs.. read them fully. Just because the items are behind those signs.. don't mean that they belong there. Pay attention to your bill as it's rung up. The management doesn't seem to care much about the way the store here is ran.
