Heritage Meats - Best hot dogs ever? Quite possibly.

I visited Heritage Meats in Middlefield recently. I was hoping they carried some high quality beef…read moresticks, but they didn't have the kind I wanted. I found some nice looking hot dogs though. A four pack was $3.71 and they were plump. This joint was jumpin'. There were people slicing meat, stocking shelves, ringing people up, chopping up sections of beef, and what have you. I felt like I had stepped back into the year 1800. I was very impressed with the establishment. I bought the hot dogs and some beef sticks. At home, I was a little too excited, so I microwaved one of the hot dogs for one minute. I thought to myself, "Hmmm. These are Amish hot dogs. I wonder if they're fully cooked." I ate it anyway. It was the best microwaved hot dog I've ever tasted. It had a good amount of moisture and a ton of flavor with a hint of smokiness. Loved it. A while later I thought, "That was a great hot dog, why not have another?" So I did. When my wife and son got home, I told them about the hot dog experience. The next day, they ate the two remaining hot dogs and agreed with me regarding their flavor. Now I have to drive an hour to Middlefield to buy more of these amazing hot dogs. Luckily, I have business to do in Middlefield. I will be a repeat customer whenever I can.

I spent $100 on meat (pork butt and beef ribs). The pork butt was good and well-trimmed. The beef ribs had way too much fat, which jacked up the price. I'll have to take a better look next time I shop before I accept their meat offering.

Just stick to the grocery side if you don't need a bolt or screw! The donuts often sell out fast but if you can get there early they are more than worth it. Yeast style glazed donuts that look like small tires they are so big and the donut holes look like small softballs! I could not believe my eyes. They are so good. The fry pies are hand held glazed pies and come in many flavors. Our favorites include lemon and strawberry cream cheese. You can get fry pies at several Amish shops but these have the most filling and best all over flavor that I have found. You can also get plates of molasses cookies here that melt in your mouth. My daughter can eat them faster than I can turn around. Me, I love the whoopie pies. It's a good thing it's. 45 minute drive for me to visit this shop or I would not diabetic from all their lovely sweets! Check them out!

We all explained our sides and after deliberations the printer was returned and I got my money back. Thank you Caitlin and Jim for going the distance to make a decision to help the consumer through a bad case of unfortunate issues. would not give this store even one star if I had a choice. Purchased a printer in Nov. that was a Christmas gift. . With the holidays and company in town we didn't set it up right away. Today I went to set it up for my mom and noticed the printer was dirty and definitely looked used. I went to Walmart to return it and they said it was outside of the return window. Past the 30 day return policy. ok I get that but this isn't the correct printer in the box. serial numbers don't match my receipt. Someone obviously returned this printer dishonestly. Walmart refuses to do anything now I have a printer that is used and not right. I also have a warranty I can't use because the serial numbers don't match my receipt. This is Walmarts fault as they returned this printer and put it back on the shelf without checking that the right printer was returned. I'm out over $70 for Walmart's mistake. Poor customer service. Selling a used product in a new box then refusing to do something about it!

Sometimes I'm not able to find the same items at this location vs another. On a most recent visit, we went shopping for items to complete our thanksgiving day feast. Giant Eagle seemed to have some of the better prices compared to other grocery stores. Not everything was cheaper, but a majority of the items were. We needed to pick up a turkey, side fixings, condiments, random veggies, household items and bread - you know, for the stuffing. The main reason for our visit was for the turkey, they were offering their brand turkeys for $0.49 a pound. This was nearly half of other competitors pricing. We noticed they had carried a bread by a name brand specifically made for "stuffing". It was un-sliced, more dense, about 16 oz vs 20oz worth of product for $0.99 - same price as the Giant Eagle white sliced bread. We figured we would try it.. 8 loaves later, we moved on to grab our other items & then headed to the checkout. We weren't asked for our loyalty card, or phone number. When I mentioned it, the lady said whenever we were ready we could tell it to her so she could add it. The items were rang up & we were given our total, it seemed fairly higher than the math I did in my head.. neither here nor there, I forgot to give her my phone number so she could pull my loyalty information. She also didn't ask for it.. both our faults. When I checked the screen in front of me, I noticed the bread rang up at $2.49 PER loaf. When we selected the bread from the shelf, it was marked at only $0.99. She said no problem, she called a manager over for a price check. The manager seemed bothered, but went to check the price for us. Several minutes later.. which seemed forever long since the bread isle wasn't that far away from the checkout area.. she returned. She informed us that the bread was placed in the wrong area on the shelf. The actual price is $2.49 per loaf, not $0.99. She didn't say sorry, she didn't offer to price match it, she didn't offer anything. She literally walked away without a word. She took a while in the isle because she actually moved ALL of the product during this time. Instead of returning to us with the pricing and moving it afterwards. We had several people behind us in line that wasn't too happy either. We kindly asked the cashier to remove all 8 loaves from our bill, we didn't want to pay such a large difference. She was quiet about it, read us the new total and we paid so we could leave. We ended up getting bread elsewhere. $7.92 total vs $19.92 = $12 difference that actually paid for our 22 lb turkey.... Anyways, make sure to check the sale signs.. read them fully. Just because the items are behind those signs.. don't mean that they belong there. Pay attention to your bill as it's rung up. The management doesn't seem to care much about the way the store here is ran.

With the crazy weather here in NE Ohio, a lot of farmers can't grow what they used to and in massive quantities, so Yes, more produce has been brought in to cover the demand. Do give this wonderful farm stand a chance to prove him wrong !
