We almost drove past it even though the GPS said we arrived. It did not look like a restaurant, but one indicator that there was good food here, was all the commercial trucks in the tight dirt lot. There was seating inside for about 16. There were also a few tables outside. They apologized for the wait, there were about 20 order tickets waiting along the grill. Apparently they do alot of pick up orders as well. Super burgers is in the name, so a burger was what I was going for. I ordered the regular bacon cheese burger with the works w/ fries. There was a double burger as well and I am glad I didn't order that. My regular burger was huge. Easily a half pound+. It was cooked perfectly despite the super busy kitchen. It was a pretty long wait to get it but was worth it. The fries were crispy and not greasy. I have found that the little hole in the wall local joints usually have the best food. This will definitely be a regular ride destination.

We were just passing through Santee SC for an overnight and sought out the Prime Rib dinner at the Lake House. It definitely did not disappoint! All the wait staff were super friendly and helpful. They pride themselves on scratch cooking (as do I!). Be sure to save room for dessert and plan on not being able to finish it. I gotta say, the OMG Carrot Cake just might be the best carrot cake since I got married so many years ago. Each slice is 4 layers tall and so massive that it's served on a dinner plate.

RVers are a "captured audience" since onecan walk from his or her RV to the restaurant. This is quite convenient. As well, the restaurant is located in a scenic environment. These are the two big pluses. As stated earlier, offerings are not tasty. They are way overpriced for what is delivered. One in our party had Yaya's cut of steak for 35 bucks. Take a look at the picture below and ask yourself a question: would you pay 35 bucks for this? The taste was not there. The portion size was not commencement for the price. Salads are not delivered as salads, but rather a bed of greens slathered with so much dressing that one can barely taste the salad at all. This place is a huge disappointment and a waste of your dollars. Don't bother stopping by.

I was a little late for lunch so I was the only one in there at 2pm. A few more folks came in after though. The young girl who seated and served me was really nice. I ordered the pulled pork and pimento cheese egg rolls and the jalapeño burger. The egg rolls came out but then she immediately came back and said they were the southwest ones by accident and she would get the right ones. My burger and fries came out next and then the original egg rolls I ordered. I tried both to compare but they were huge so I definitely couldn't finish them. I actually liked the southwest ones better anyway. I think they were supposed to come with a dipping sauce but I think she forgot with the mixup. She also mentioned that I wouldn't be charged for the extra order of egg rolls which I thought was funny because it wasn't my mistake in the first place. The spicy burger was great so I definitely enjoyed that. The service was a little slow but I think she got flustered after the egg roll mixup. Like I mentioned, she was really nice. And the cook came out to ask how everything was as well. If you're in town and looking for a good lunch, I would definitely recommend checking them out. They have ice cream and milk shakes too if you're looking for that.

Conveniently located right off the highway with free parking in the adjacent lot, this small, cozy spot is perfect for an intimate meal or even a small gathering. The décor is fun, the space is clean and well-lit, and the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted kindly and given time to browse the menu. We seated ourselves and were served within about 20 minutes. We walked in without reservations, on a Saturday aft/evening. My husband ordered the Double Fist Burger, which he absolutely loved--juicy, fresh, delicious, and truly a two-handed burger! He enjoyed the Sazon rice as a milder alternative to red beans and rice, though he mentioned he would've ordered the burger a bit more well-done if asked (he's a well-done guy; I'm a medium girl!). I had the Pringletown Memphis Spaghetti, and it was fantastic. It brought back childhood memories of pasta goulash but with an elevated smoky twist, thanks to the flavorful pulled pork. Every bite was packed with fresh ingredients, and the portion was generous enough that I happily brought leftovers home. They also have a cooler stocked with fun beverages--I enjoyed a Guaraná Brazilian soda, and my husband loved his sweet tea. We loved that the two lovely ladies working there, took the time to come out and share some friendly banter. Things like that make you feel welcomed and valued as a customer. Human connection goes a long way! Thank you, ladies. :) Overall, Hwy 27 Smoked House BBQ offers great food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. They also provide catering and small-party reservations. We'll definitely be back!
