The ample dining space, dedicated private rooms, and gourmet bowling alleys across the place was a sight to behold. This experience cost a pretty penny, which is partially what doomed them in the first place. As a brunch destination, it was a hot mess, largely due to their staff which had a hard time to keep up with the demand. The waits without reservations were brutal and even ones that arrived with reservations would still have to wait if the seating arrangements weren't done properly. The food itself was solid, featuring premium items like prime rib and mean herb roasted chicken, along with smoked salmon, shrimp cocktails, and even a dessert fondue. Throw in a few pasta + pasta dishes for the kids, along with an omelette station. At $35, this was a good value. The bowling experience was always their best asset. Lane reservations were a cinch, and the bowling balls were always quality. The area was well maintained and had a decent amount of seating for groups. Shoes and socks were always included in the $20 per person/per hour deal, which for River Oaks standards is on par price wise. While they live on in other cities, I do think Pinstripes was onto something in Houston. While it may not have fully materialized into what they envisioned, it did lay enough ground work to see the possibility was there. Here's hoping they find another home in H-Town in the near future.

Since I had never had their cider before, I decided to do a flight of five. When I placed my order, I was expecting them to give me a tray of five 1 oz pours... But instead, they told me the flight will consist of five 5 oz cups.... WHOA. So I grabbed the first two and had to come back for the rest after I finished. Every single one was delicious, but I really liked the mango habanero and the one with the coconut. Now, the games... I rarely come to a barcade that has TWO Guitar Hero setups. And they had plenty of classic cabinets, air hockey, Mario Kart, shooting games... Claw machines... It was quite epic. The downside was that, in the lunch rush, it took 30-40 minutes for that one pizza to come out, though you could tell they were individually making each item in the big pizza oven. If you want drinks, you separately order those at the front, near where you check in, which is a little odd to have two separate food/drink ordering spots. When we walked in, we paid for a wristband, which gave "free" access to all of the arcade games, except for the claw machines, which required you to buy an extra card.

The computer also didn't register several gutter balls throughout the 2 hours we played. Overall, it's still a very worthwhile experience. Despite the hiccups, this game room offers quite a nightly vibe on an otherwise quiet campus. It stays open on Fridays until 12:30AM and even serves alcohol for ages 21+. In addition, you can find plenty of other games here including a PS5, dual monitor PC set up, air hockey, and pool. There's certainly something for everyone to enjoy.

They went above and beyond to help us maximize the points on our rewards card and took the time to make sure we understood how everything worked. That level of customer service is becoming harder to find, and it genuinely made us feel appreciated as guests. Great food, good value, excellent service, and plenty of fun. The server followed me from the front desk, reached with her BARE HANDS, & long nails to collect lemons and squeezed each lemon and dropped in the cup. "No no I don't want the lemons inside my cup" She toss those in the trash collect two more cups. Reached her BARE DIRTY, unwashed hands and long nails back into the lemon tub to place them on napkins. Do you have any tongue to collect the lemons???? She trash those lemons and got ONE PICK TO STAB TWO LEMONS for two cups of water. Without saying a word. The laziness was pure disturbing. And the attitude as if she was bothered is nasty work. I explained in great deets to my friend. Who NEVER place lemons inside her cups no matter the level of establishment. She squeezed both. I just went without any lemon.
