I normally don't get my nails done but I decided to today on a whim. I walked in a was greeted nicely by a man and was immediately checked in a sat in a chair with Vee, the nail technician. She was super kind and took her time with what she was doing to make sure that it was done right and that I liked the way that my nails were going. She checked in multiple times with me and even helped me pick out a color because I was unsure as to which one I should get. My nails turned out great, Vee was extremely nice and over all I had a great experience. I can't wait to go back again and will be requesting that she does my nails :) read more

I was always a regular at lucky nails until Last year when Vivian was doing my nails and kept getting up every 2 minutes to help other people and was not paying any attention to what she was with me ..I boycott going there because of thaand she was very rude to ..so today I decided to give them another chance...thinking the chances of me get Vivian again would be slim...so...I get my pedi from a woman who did an awesome job ...but the I was put in a booth waiting for about a half hour to get my nails done...while I was sitting there, they were catering to a large group that had just came in...so..guess who ended up doing my nails ...you guessed it "Vivian " what she did to me last year she did today but worse....she kept getting up and up and up and up....she was very rude to me the whole time she was doing my nails and when she finished and told me to go wash my hands she jumped right up and grabbed all my things and threw them at me when I was at the sink ..just so she could get the next person in that booth...she didn't rush to do my nails but was rushing to do someone else's..this will definitely be my last time there read more

Truly the worst nail experience I have ever had. I came in with my sister and as we were looking out polishes I was ushered over to a chair to have my gel polish taken off before I could even pick out a color. They then seated her so far away from me for seemingly no reason (since open tables were available next to both of us) which meant we couldn't chat and relax as we had planned. They were extremely rough in taking off my polish and used tools sitting at their station that had clearly not been sanitized - gross. I had a swatch of colors thrusted into my hands which meant I was only allowed to choose from those colors rather than the OPI selection up front (I was not getting gel this time). My nails chipped the next day and 3 days later they have turned into some sort of velcro effect where everything sticks to them. My sister's nails look worse than if she were to paint them herself. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS - un-hygienic, rude, and terrible results!! read more

I broke a toenail traveling to Greenfield. I was going to be there all week for a workshop. It was Sunday. Hardly any nail salons were open. So, I decided to go to Lucky Nail Salon, despite its poor reviews. For a pedicure they have a $25 basic pedicure and then a $35 pedicure that includes extra massage, lotions, and what not. I had an hour before my hotel room would be ready, so I agreed to the $35 pedicure. Everything seemed fine until it came time to pay.... What?!? They only accept cash!!!! I was traveling. I only had $50 on me, and had already spent $5 of that. So now I would only have $10 in cash for the rest of the entire week! I am annoyed that they didn't specify this up front. I would have chosen the $25 pedicure. There were no signs at the cash register or front door to this effect, either. And on top of all that, no one was even sympathetic. They just smilingly pointed out directions to the nearest cash machine. Luckily, I had the $35 on me, or I would've been "out" whatever additional fee my bank charges for withdrawing money from a non-network bank machine. So far, this only warrants a 3-star review, but.... By the end of the week, the polish was already rubbing off my toe nails! They didn't even put a top clear coat on. I want to be clear here, that my nails were not subject to any harsh treatment that would warrant rubbing off. I did wear open-toe shoes all week, but isn't that the point of having a cute pedicure?!? So, now we are down to 1-star because I am going to have to get a new pedicure only 1.5 weeks later. I've gone here a few times in the past, and they were pretty good, The past a few times I've gone there they change the price on you and they don't tell you until it's time to pay, The last time I went in, I told them I wanted a straight manicure and nothing else!!!! When it came to check out, expected only to pay 20, they charged me for30!! They gave me gel instead of a regular nail polish, I never ever mentioned that I wanted gel and they never ever mentioned if I wanted it!!! This place will rip you off!!! I made an appointment here and I'm honestly not too happy. I got a french manicure with acrylic nails, and the guy who did them filed into my skin on multiple fingers. I was bleeding, and he filed over the wounds multiple times during the whole process. Blood even got on the brush he was using and he wiped it off and continued. The nails are super thick, there are chunks of acrylic underneath the nail and on my skin, there are bubbles in the acrylic, and you can see the fake nail extender underneath the polish. It was definitely not worth $45 but I don't even know how to get a refund. I'm incredibly unhappy with this place. I took as many pictures as I could but my camera can't zoom in the much, but these nails are not even worth $30, or even $20. read more

I didn't have a good experience at this place. It is outrageously expensive and they rush through your manicure and pedicure. The woman tried selling me on the spa pedicure and that's why it was $30 but all she did was soak my feet for 5 minutes and paint my toes, NOT worth it. Then she did my gel manicure and didn't even cut all of my cuticles! She rushed through my polish and it looks uneven and awful. I went here to get a fill for my acrylic nails. This was my second time coming here, the first time the male did my nails and I loved them! When she was doing my nails she used a clear gel I'd never seen before and she kept piling it on, and didn't ask if I wanted my ridiculously long nails shorter. When I put my nails under the light my pinky had a burning firey feeling and I told her how it hurt and she said it happens. When I went to pay the lady had me use the ATM and I had an additional $3 charge to my card, on top of having to take $60 out, (they were $50 which seems high for a fill) even tho they used my debit card the first time I went in weeks prior. While I was at the ATM, my husband who was sitting next to me the whole time, noticed how terrible my nails looked. 4 of them were miss shaped and were so crooked, and 3 of them she missed spots while painting them. I mentioned it to the lady at the register and she asked the lady to fix my nails, which she somewhat did. They are still missing nail polish and look like my 5 year old did them, and she filed them right after they were painted and you can tell. I don't usually go out of my way to leave negative reviews but I had a really bad experience here. I didn't have an appointment so I waited and I really don't mind waiting if it's good service. I waited an hour to get my gel nails removed until someone sat me down to start. They didn't use acetone they just filed them down and started hacking away at my nails. Within 5 mins I was bleeding from a crack in the center of my real nail! I was moved to another nail tech who was slightly gentler but who also nicked me and drew blood. She covered the cracked nail with gel so it could grow out at not crack anymore and coated the rest with shellac. This all cost me $40 plus tip. I don't like conflict so I didn't put up a fight (also because I wanted to go home.) Never going back. The woman was nice but I should've gone the extra mileage to my usual nail salon. I have been going to Lucky Nail for a year. You must be specific. Don't let them rush you. Make an appointment, and request the nail tech you like. If you don't like something have them fix it. As for price, it is more than reasonable. A Gel manicure in Northampton will cost you twice as much. You can get a Gel manicure, and pedicure for under $100. Service and quality is inconsistent. I think management is trying to create a more professional atmosphere but there are still two televisions going, loudly, but the kids haven't been there as much. I don't appreciate how much the technicians chat but it's possible I'm looking for an experience I just can't get at a cheap nail place in Greenfield. The massage chair I was in felt terrible and only one side worked. I repeatedly had to ask for them to file my toenails shorter. One lady is harassing you to upgrade or add on services. I went to this salon for a pedicure a few years back and never returned. I was in the area and on my way to a wedding. I had ample time and wasn't in a hurry and wanted to relax. My whole pedicure was 10 minutes long. The lady even put lotion on my legs and feet AFTER I had my dress sandals on. I'm not mad about that. Just kinda silly that I was leaving with lotion globed on me and my now slippery sandals. My toenails were also cut as short as they could go without bleeding. Wish this place was better because it is convenient. They are just not the best, I went in to get a french manicure and she began to use the acrylic sander and messed up my nails... they assumed because I had short nails that I wanted fake nails. I went back another time with a friend and went to have a gel mani, and the manicurist said "nails are short" while he did mine... I was so fed up having to feel bad about short nails... that's how I like to keep them and regardless... paying for a service. I hate nail salons that have rude manicurists.... They did a horrible job with my gel manicure. They got it on my cuticles and it burned under the light. The gel is way too thick, bubbly and uneven. Some of the edges of my nails don't have color at all. They left al the extra polish on me so I have to peel it off now that I'm gone. I was totally rushed through so I didn't have a chance to comment or complain during the process. And I can already see how the gel will peel away from the front edge of my nails. Total botched job. I was never once asked what kind of pedicure I wanted I assumed they were all the same..WRONG somehow my normal 20 $ pedicure turned to 35$.. and all they did was add a exfoliating scrub..wtf. Please do NOT go here. I'm writing this after I spent a half hour soaking my foot. My big toe is infected after a nail technician at Lucky Nail Salon gave me the most rough pedicure I've ever had. You walk into this place and they rush you around, try to automatically sign you up for the most expensive package, and their work can downright HURT. Between the competing TVs and the kids literally running around, I didn't stay long enough to let my nails dry properly, it was just too intense. They smudged, and I was mad, but I couldn't hang there any longer than I had to There are a nice range of color options, and everyone was polite... I have been twice so far- once for a mani pedi with my sister the day before me wedding and again for a pedi. I have been pleased both times, overall. For my wedding, I got french for both the mani and the pedi. The mani literally lasted until the wedding night. I was REALLY disappointed. My pedi, however, last three weeks! The second time I got just a pedi and really liked the level of attention I got. She cleaned and manicured my feet nicely and the paint job was perfect. The shop is very large so you don't feel cramped like in some other nail shops. The people there have been very kind to me, and the second time I walked in, a woman said, "OH, YOU SO SEXY!!". Went there today, two very loud tv's were going at once. They were very pushy and Tried to push a pedicure on me, which I didn't want. I wanted a fill with gel nail polish. First he messed up and used regular nail polish and I said that was fine and didn't care, but he insisted on fixing it (obviously cause it costs more for gel so they wanted to charge me) then I wanted gems and he did some ugly design with them that I didn't ask for so I was honest. At this point he seemed annoyed, but oh well, if I'm paying money I want what I want. I go to pay and they tell me $35! I went there 3 weeks ago and it was only $28. I'm not confrontational at all so me being me, I also left a tip like an idiot, I just really hate confrontation. I had been going here for about 2 years, the last six months was terrible. Not sure why I continued to go back. The place is just not that clean. Dirty carpet, kids and toys and their other things strewn about everywhere. Also, two very loud TV's in a small space. I would get nails filled on a Tuesday and by Friday they were chipping and the polish was not shiny or bright anymore. Very disappointing for a gel manicure! I am fairly sure they do not clean their tools between customers. My nail tech now has a separate box for each client with their own files etc. Also she disinfects every thing after each client. The two male nail techs were very friendly but the women here are not. One, I think, only speaks limited English which doesn't help when your trying to convey what you want done! The last straw for me was a couple of months ago when I had my nails done and 4 days after I had chipping polish and lifting on 5 or 6 nails. I had a special occasion coming up and wanted them to look nice so I went back and spoke to the older woman who I think maybe the owner and tried to explain my issue, she told me to come back tomorrow as they were to busy to help me. My friend and I have been coming to Lucky Nails for manicures and or pedicures for almost 2 years--we LOVE them!! We don't understand what all the negative reviews have been about! We have been treated with care and professionalism every time we've been there. The salon itself is extremely large to accommodate many people at one time (I think there are at least 10 pedicure chairs). For my first visit, I went there by myself, just a walk-in off the street, for a pedicure. I was immediately ushered to a seat and got a wonderful pedicure, complete with warm stone massage and warm towel wrap--both of which felt great!! The manicures and pedicures are very professional, and last for a long time. It's true that they are a cash-only establishment, but so are many other nail salons in the area. They have an ATM right inside the front door, so if we forget to bring cash, we just use our Debit Cards. We always get in and out in a timely manner. Once I was in a bind time-wise. When I told my technician, she arranged for me to have a manicure at the same time I was having my pedicure! Everyone there has always been accommodating and pleasant.
