Recently in the last year, I wanted to start getting my nails done at places that were smaller and more personalized, and this is as personalized and private as it gets! When we first walked in, Lucy made us feel very welcomed and at ease. You are the only person there and all the attention is focused on you. Lucy was so accommodating that she let my mom and I come in together and hang out with each other. Lucy is very funny and keeps the conversation going. Her attention to detail is amazing, as I was getting a more complicated design. She has a lot of patience and wanted to get the design just right and make sure I was happy without rushing. You can tell that she really enjoys what she's doing through her work. I already booked my refill with the same nail design even before I left Lucy's place for a refill for for my gel-x tips and design. Although there are nail salons that are much closer to me, driving half an hour is definitely going to be worth it to me each time to get my nails done at Lucy's for more gel-x tips and gel pedicures! I didn't happen to know that it's by appointment only, so I'm glad that I did make an appointment. But though I have been to lots of small, freestanding nail salons, this one was by far my favorite -- in part because of the fact that it WAS all by appointment, actually. No I don't go to nail salons regularly, when I do it's because I need a little island of time for myself. I liked that this place was quiet, without the chaos I sometimes experience and nail places. The TV was on, but it was not loud and I had the full attention of Mary did my fingers and toes. She was attentive without being chatty, and did a great job. I would gladly go back. The trial was free and I left a little concerned about the lack of volume (due to my flat fine Asian hair, not Lori's skill). The morning of the wedding I arrived to have my hair done (before my makeup since Bobbie's doesn't have air conditioning and I didn't want to sweat it all off) and Lori had been inspired to tuck "bump-it's" into my hair... genius!! She expertly added perfectly placed poofs, bumps and curls around my head and gave me the 411 on what to do with my veil. Another hair stylist insisted I eat a fruit bar to avoid passing out in the middle of my vows since I was too nervous to eat. All the girls were so sweet and friendly, it was refreshing to experience the intimacy of everyone in a small town especially coming out from Los Angeles. I left a very happy bride-to-be with hair that lasted the entire wedding day without a strand out of place and would highly recommend Lori and everyone in Bobbie's Hair & Nail for pretty and professional wedding hair.
