This is a dive bar in the area. Locals crawl to this area and it shows. Food is not served here. They have beer on draft, cans and bottles. They also have a full bar. The service was good, but the time we went was empty. During a world cup game. There were a few locals in the bar and several folks came in to watch the game, but they kept the jukebox on. Other patrons asked to listen to the game, but there was one person who kept playing music on the jukebox. This definitely proved to me that although this was a dive bar, sports was not welcomed or a priority there. Come here for a drink, but not for a dodger or sports game. There's other dive bars that are more reasonable. Maybe this was why it was empty. read more

I love this bar! I found it about 2016. Cool vibe in quiet nites. In busy nights.... Anything goes! I have stopped by while their was a wedding after party going on. Their tables were decorated and had centerpieces with pictures of the couple. Another night, a BBQ truck was there with some kick ass bbq. I have seen birthdays parties, bachelorette too. The have karaoke, guest DJs (Funky Fellows) and a pool table. There were all kinds of board games, I'm didn't remember seeing them when I last visited. My friend and I loved playing Jenga with dirty things written on the pieces. Lol! Taqueria Colima is in the same at strip, but it closes at 10. McDonalds is on the corner and Weinersnitzel is across the street if you get hungry. The owner is named Bernard. He is very protective if his establishment. I like him, he is always friendly. I came to this bar on a Saturday night and it was pretty dead. It gave a biker/dive bar vibe. Not really my scene. The bartender was super friendly and kind but she overfilled my glass with too much ice. My friend & I stayed for one drink and left. Unless you're a regular you might feel out of place, unless you're in a big group. read more

It directed us towards the back into an apartment complex. Not cool. Anyways, make sure you check in on yelp. It's buy a drink and get a well drink or draft beer on tap for free. And drinks here are extremely cheap already. I'm not sure how this place stays on business if drinks are cheap and they're offering a bogo. They have a few beers on tap and more selections in cans and bottles. As for the liquor they have a good amount, but nothing super fancy. There are board games, connect four and jenga. read more

I discovered this place out of a little adventure I had after talking with a guy at the bar of Black Angus Whittier. A few martinis in and bam, I'm at the Lucky Lizard. I take it for what it is. Yes, it's a dive bar. Yes, there's one pool table off the side, some tall tables off to the side, and an electronic juke box at the end. Yes, I'm very observant. I'll admit. I'm a bit of a food and drink snob so I'm not the type of person you'll find at dive bars. I don't like drinking basic beers like Bud Light and Bud Light equivalents. I prefer your local craft beers and more. The Lizard offers these standard American brews including Rolling Rock and while I don't care much for them, I surprised myself. I enjoyed the refreshing crisp of Rolling Rock on draft and in a pitcher. Who knew that a regular, basic beer I thought was shit in a can could be good on draft at a dive bar called Lucky Lizard? This guy does now. I've told my friends about my little adventure with the new friend I hung out with and now my friends are coming here because they see eye-to-eye with me. Hey, I can't always be fancy. I do appreciate the true nature of places as long as they present themselves as they are. Beers on draft. Check. The single pool table in the corner. It's free? I moved from Alhambra to Hacienda Heights a few weeks ago and was looking for a cool bar for me and my friend to go to. Found this place on yelp, and bc of the great reviews we thought we'd check it out. To our disappointment it was a dive bar. Very divy, but we stayed. There were definitely some characters there. One guy told us he could stop global warming with his energy and that he stopped the volcano eruption in Hawaii with a single word. That same guy asked me and my friend if we were lesbians. Ransom ppl were making out, and one of those ppl also asked us if we were a couple. In the 8 years we've been friends, we've never been asked that--and so often. It was weird. I also didn't feel comfy leaving my drink unattended. I gulped down my drink just to hit the bathroom. When I went in the one to the left, you could immediately tell it used to be the men's restroom. It wreaked of urine. The toilet seat was tagged up and so was the paper towel dispenser. I didn't even want to put the toilet seat lid down or sit on it, nor hang my purse. So, I squatted and help my purse close to my chest, then used paper towels for the sink handle and door handle. That all said, I have nothing against the bar. It's a good fit for some ppl, I guess, but it's just not for me. I won't be going again. read more

After my first great experience I came back here on a Sunday afternoon for a drink. The atmosphere this time was completely different. On a Sunday afternoon they had a DJ playing and the music was way too loud. Not sure why they have a DJ on Sunday afternoon but whatever. They needed to turn it down a notch or 2. So I sit at the bar and place my order with the bartender. 2 mixed drinks. She comes back and says $14. I'm thinking that seems kind of high but ok, maybe cause the DJ is playing the prices are higher. The bartender is kind of a space cadet and I had to assume she is high on something. I give her a $20 and then she goes about her business. I'm expecting change to come back but it never does. is she seriously trying to keep my change as a tip? The patrons of this place this afternoon are of the ghetto thug genre so I'm keeping my cool as I don't want to get my ass kicked. So we finish up our drinks and I get the bartenders attention and say "can I get my change? i gave you a $20". without saying a word she wanders over to the tip jar and comes back with $10. To this day I don't know what the hell was going on in this girls brain. this experience was enough to keep me from coming back. I thought I had found a cool place to grab a drink but I was wrong. I don't want to come to a place where i have to be concerned if I am going to get my change back when paying with a 20 dollar bill. read more

Came in last Friday to celebrate my bf's cousin's Birthday! All in all, it was a very chill vibe. Definitely a place where the guys outnumber the girls. I believe the ratio was like 6 guys to every 1 girl. Friday meant Karaoke night :) The Karaoke/DJ dude was very good at his job. I liked his method of playing a karaoke song then rotating 2-3 "regular" songs in between. The singers were quite entertaining. After the liquor started to kick in, we all got into the karaoke spirit and started to sing our favorite songs too. Bar drinks were priced fairly. This particular night there was a $4/fireball shot special. Our party bought a few rounds of those, and more than a few $10 pitchers of domestic beer. No fights, or drama that I witnessed. I had a good time, and will definitely go back with some girlfriends. read more
