Ordered hot and sour soup which was neither hot or sour, shrimp with broccoli in garlic sauce, no garlic no heat. The shrimp were over cooked and had a weird breading which made the whole thing mushy. And a first for me, broccoli was over cooked. I ordered crab Rangoon (which were a dollar a piece) although tasted good had very little filling. Finally I ordered a salmon roll and of course there was just a small amount of salmon. I work with a hotel and we order a few times a month from Lucky House but moreso the team recommends to guests and I see the delivery guy here all the time. Today we placed $100 order to celebrate the team. Our VP requested a king roll and queen roll (#16 and #17). It's their numbers on their menu. But the person taking the order did not understand the numbers so we said King Roll and Queen Roll. What we received was horrible some onion roll and skin roll suppose to be salmon and tuna rolls. When I called back to inform them of the error the girl was so rude. What should hae happened replacements sent with the correct items from the referrals they get from the team. But instead, she yelled and screamed. There are other Chinese choices in the area and trust me out of guests' town will not know of Lucky House due to how poorly they handled this situation. Don't waste your money and avoid at all costs. Teriyaki beef in a box was too chewy to swallow and had no teriyaki flavor. All the beefs on stick were fat. No meat, just fat. The spicy chicken had a spongy texture that came from no part of a chicken I've ever known. I can only guess but they probably buy the absolute cheapest animal food grade ingredients out there. I love this place. The workers are nice, the food is good, they make one of the best crunchy spicy crab/salmon rolls I've ever had and is the resturant that got me into sushi! The walk-in is cute, quick, and has nice service. The take out is relatively quick, especially if you call in. However, the delivery is horrendous which is why it's only 4/5. We came here for lunch and were glad we did - very good! We had the spicy tangy chicken and beef lo mein. The chicken was great -- very flavorful, good amount of chicken and veggies in a nice sauce. Not too spicy but had a little kick. The lo mein was exactly what we wanted - very long noodles, nice texture and flavor. Service from greeting to paying was very friendly and helpful. I have ordered from here before, maybe a year ago and probably will never again. I ordered 3 items, my go to's, pork fried rice, chicken fingers and boneless spareribs. Ribs were good, tasty! Chicken fingers I assumed were called that because the chicken resembles fingers. They were nuggets, ball shaped. Both those 2 items though were packed in like a small sandwich size foam container, small sizes. The pork fried rice had 5 small specs of pork, very little veggies 98% brown rice, plenty packed in the traditional container for over 35.00 including 5+ tip/ delivery. I've had lucky house several times over the years since they had opened. But tonight, was by far some of the worse Chinese food I've ever had. I had several friends over and we decided to get Chinese. The service was perfectly fine for take out. But the general tso's, crab rangoon, and chicken fingers had a sour tangy taste to them that isn't normal. I had a few bites and couldn't continue and ended up throwing it away. I assume it was something with their cooking Oil. As I write this review the taste still lingers. I would not recommend to friends in the future and I will not be returning. read more

There were three of us, and we ordered our favorites that we get from any Chinese restaurant. None of the items that we ordered was anything to write home about. The chicken egg foo young was seemed watery, and the gravy that came with it was awful. I also got the eel avocado sushi and it was the first time that got bones in the eel. Also ordered the house fried rice, orange flavored beef, all which was just 'OK', not much flavor. All the items came out lukewarm at best, it may have tasted better if it was hot. The only item that tasted half was decent was the boneless pork spare ribs appetizer. Oh, and the vegetable tempura was again just OK, and the portion was very small for the price. One thing that was disappointing is that it was the first Chinese restaurant we have gone to that does NOT sell alcoholic drinks, ONLY BEER AND WINE. The only good service we got is when the food came out. No one came to clear the table of empty dishes so the table got very crowed and we had to start stacking empty dishes ourselves to make room on the table. I'm going to look for something better, I would suggest any one reading this do the same. read more

Stopped after class for dinner. I got three sushi rolls and seaweed salad. The whole order smelled like low tide. The shrimp tempura roll was falling apart and had the stump tail stuck to the ends as garnish. The avacodo in two rolls was browning. The seaweed salad was slimey and foul smelling. I ordered two servings of general tsuos chicken, two servings of pork fried rice, and two egg rolls for me and my girlfriend. Absolutely disgusting, the rice came in a carton that had at a least 3 inch high grease pool. The chicken tasted fishy and made me vomit. Lot's of people say they think its the frying oil that makes things fishy, and they're correct. They use the same frying oil for hours before changing it, with different foods too. Delivery took a whopping 50 minutes (I'm about 3 miles away). The only good thing about this was the driver being nice. Definitely the worst Chinese food I have had in ages. I got delivery and last time someone gave me food this bad I actually returned it to get my money back. The genius packaging the order thought it smatter to put the soupy tofu (which normally is put in a tall plastic quart container) in a tin tray and then to put it precariously on top of my friend's chicken wings. Not surprisingly the entire bag and order arrived covered in oily sauce. That doesn't even get to the actually food quality which to put it nicely, my dog would not even eat. Ma-po-tofu (or schezuan style) is about as basic as it comes, tofu and some bits of vegetable like peas and carrots. This place can't even seem to do that and instead the dish was pretty much an oil puddle. We have eaten takeout here quite a few times. The sushi is decent, and prices are good. Why 2 stars you ask? Well, I have been here enough to know they are slow at getting your order together. If they tell you 15 minutes, give them 30. I go to pick my order up today, after calling in at 7. I walk into the restaurant at 7:25 expecting a wait. When I tell them my order, the girl behind the counter gets visibly worried. She says nothing to me continuing to ruffle through papers. She runs to the sushi bar and starts putting orders together, she doesn't come back. Okay...so I take a seat. And wait. And wait. Not one employee even acknowledged A. They screwed up and forgot to make my order, and B. Just apologized for a delay! Instead, when I said something to the young man behind the counter about why its been so long (45 mins now) he IGNORES me! Now I know this guy speaks English, he is answering the phones! Now I'm heated. My girlfriend who was sitting in the car cones in, and tells me to just leave without the food. We never even paid yet. As we get in the car to leave, they flag me down saying its ready! Well, now its 8pm, its been a long day so I sucked it up and went back in. I go in, and the girl says she will give me 10% off. Still no apology! I give her the card and as I wait for that I pull out the crab rangoons which are ice cold, and another employee snottily says to me "We are really busy!" I look around and there are 3 other people in the whole place! All I wanted was some actual apology. I understand mistakes happen. If it were explained to me what was wrong, I would be more than understanding. I see customers all day long, all week. Trust me, I never want to be THAT guy, making a scene. This place is delicious. We did not have the Chinese food but went for the sushi. The rolls were fresh and fabulous. The waiter was attentive, helpful and polite. We ordered a half carafe of wine and he filled it to the brim. Then when we were just finishing up, he gave us some complimentary fruit for desert. We decided we wanted to try the green tea ice cream and it did not disappoint. We have no complaints, we left completely satisfied! read more

I usually order sushi from Mazhu, but Lucky House was closer so I decided to order from there tonight. Their sushi is cheap and most of the time not what you ordered. I ordered a rainbow roll which is supposed to come with white tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and regular tuna BUT instead I got a weird combination of shrimp, imitation crab, seaweed, and a little bit of white tuna. Absolutely horrible, the fish doesn't taste fresh at all. I have dined in at this restaurant before and the food took forever to come out even though only me and my friend were in there. Their soda comes out in a can.. So no refills. The portions are smaller than you would usually get at any Chinese/Japanese restaurant. Boyfriend and I got food delivered tonight... And I thought you couldn't mess up Chinese food. We only live a few minutes away and didn't really want to go out yet the delivery took 45 minutes. While they told us it would indeed be 45 minutes, I've just never waited that long for Chinese food. I got chicken with veggies, he got chicken with broccoli. We also got won ton soup and crab rangoon. Soup and crabbies were good. Our food wasn't totally packaged... The corners of the trays weren't pressed down at all which caused some spillage. Fair... Not overly impressed... Their food is fair at best and their service leaves a lot to be desired. I am always leery when I see a restaurant advertise as both a "Chinese restaurant" and a "Japanese Restaurant. Chinese food and Japanese sushi are not even remotely related and require two totally different styles of cooking. This restaurant offers both Chinese menu items and Japanese sushi, and after trying both, I was not overly impressed. On my first visit I ordered a Chinese lunch special, Hunan shrimp, and it was okay. It wasn't horrible, but wasn't great either. On my recent visit I ordered sushi an had it delivered to my house. It took two hours for my food to arrive, when I was promised 30 minutes. I would have preferred honestly. Why lie? The rock shrimp avocado sushi roll was excellent. But, my eel sushi roll was fair. I also ordered three shrimp ebi nigiri and three eel nigiri (the rice on the bottom with the eel on the top). The shrimp nigiri was okay, although the tails were left on and were dirty looking. Next, the eel was half raw and half cooked. I couldn't eat it. Eel is suppose to be served cooked, not raw and you could get sick from eating raw eel. Needless-to-say, the eel was a definite miss. Final verdict, in a pinch I may call to order delivery again, as it's the only sushi delivery around and I love sushi, but I will be careful what I order and I will definitely never order eel again. However, in fairness to them, the rock shrimp avocado roll was a definite hit and I would definitely order that again. That was the one saving grace of my meal and my experience. I will not be ordering Chinese from them, but they are okay for simple sushi rolls. Expect a wait, but their prices are reasonable and they deliver, which is a definite plus. Final point, the inside of the restaurant is classy, well decorated, and super clean and tidy. That's another plus. read more
