An extremely nice Indian woman assisted me, I came to cash a check that Chime refused to accept. I was worried that this place would refuse it as well. I explained to her what the check was for (a class action case), and that I had googled the case to confirm it was real, and contacted the case administrator to confirm it was real. I walked out with a little less cash than I expected. But for some reason they insisted on putting a portion of it on a Green Dot debit card. Overall I was very pleased. Then I drove to a retailer that Chime said would take cash deposits. The lady working the service desk didn't think it would work. As we followed Chime's instructions on how to deposit the cash, those didn't work But the lady at the service desk had a suggestion Slide your Chime card through the payment machine. It pulled up a dialogue box asking if I wanted to add cash. I selected YES, and it asked me for an amount. Turns out $500 is the limit you can deposit. So I did that and then deposited the rest in a second deposit Only downside was this retailer charged me a transaction fee of $5 per transaction. Overall, it took WAY longer than I expected. But I got it done.

We were waiting for service in the check cashing line, exactly where customers are supposed to be. Then he yells, "I'm on lunch break, I'll be gone for an hour, I don't know what you're going to do." That's not customer service -- that's disrespect. * A few months prior, at the Santa Clara Ave branch, I was venting to the same rep about rude treatment I had received at Hesperian. He literally called the girl at that branch in front of me, switched to Spanish, and mocked me by saying: "Yeah, this Black lady is here complaining about you." I'm bilingual. I understood every word. That was flat-out discriminatory and unprofessional. When I escalated to Jeannie, the regional manager, her response was even worse. The first time I spoke with her, she acted concerned and promised action. This time? She dismissed me outright: "That's not his character, we've never had a complaint, everyone says he's great." Example of one of the questions why do you wait two months to cash the check? Is it still good? She asked. Did they cancel it? Are they open and there is an expiration of six months on the check. I do not go to check cashing places just thought it would be fairly quick and simple. Not the case.
