The luckyboat is an ok takeaway and is sometimes above average with lovely dishes here and there, but theres two of The telephone staff that are as dry and indifferent as old get out!!
One is a fella, and he just could'nt bring himself to sound half interested,if he tried.
He's robotic dull and curtly verging on quite rude,
There is a curt abrupt disintested girl who also verges on rudeness and she can't wait to shove you off the phone supersonically.
Three other ladies take calls who are very nice, they are kind patient and give time and help with food enquiries in a nice friindly way.
The other two rudees could take note, the guy took my address wrongly then curtly denied that when i kindly tried to correct, he was heard by another, he must be training to be a doctor as he is above the customers in tone very often.
It would be nice to recieve consistently nicerll service something sadly lacking here in N ire.
The food can be nice depending on the chef,
Sweet and sours and pekings and salted chilli egg foo young and sechwans are all lovely and quite delicious, the mixed starter is horrid greasy and terribly presented, barbeque ribs are really nice, the chips are truly abysmal as they are re cooked supermarket cheapies and scragg end looking quintessentially unappealing.
one chef is under average, and food will be under par with that chef, the other chef is quite good and the food will be very adequate and better cooked and presented, neither chef masters the art of hong kong or cantonese style very well and it is usually sogged mushed distorted coatings with hard chewy unpleasant pork or beef it's under par and not appetizing.
Orange and lemon sauce for duck or chicken is bizarrely Indistinguishable and low on flavour being far too mild
European dishes, Average edible not well presented.
I've never eaten in the restaurant so that could honestly be a much better eating experience over all compared to delivered food.
The meals are small in portion sizes but quite largely priced for what you recieve in the home delivery, always very cold by time you recieve your delivery, but apart from the quite average mayflower, the luckyboat is the only game in town and needs must as we are not up to cooking for ourselves often and so a take out feeds us.
If there was another choice that was good we'd use this place Much less often as it's a sadly dour expensive experience and over the phone quite often is a dull experience except for the 3 nicer ladies and thats well putting us off now after tonight.
Gee those staff up or pay them better perhaps then they might be inclined to be much more pleasant. read more
