Our family of 4 had so much fun at Luck Factory Games! You pay $8 per person and can play as long as you want to - we stayed about 3 hours but would've played more if 1 of our group didn't have an early morning obligation! Let me tell you, there are not a lot of family friendly activities you can do in the Charlotte area for just $8 per person! They sell some refreshments including about 4 beers on tap, a few other beers that you can buy in a bottle, sweet tea, water, candy, goldfish crackers, etc. You can go upstairs to the food court and purchase food (we got Thai food, fries, etc.) and bring it down and eat it for $3 per person. They have over a thousand board games including unique ones that were made when different shows or movies were popular (Jaws, Golden Girls, etc.). Some of them were hilarious with their wacky directions - we had a lot of laughs over the complicated Back To The Future instructions. We ended the night with a palate cleanser game that was really simple and hilarious: Yeti In My Spaghetti (you pull out pieces of spaghetti and try not to be the one that drops the yeti). Allison & Nick are the owners of this unique little haven of games which is well stocked with almost all very game you can think of; recent or a back in the day favorite. Krista is one of the game masters that will help you out if you need help or if you have a request! If there's a game they don't have you can tell them and they will get it for you! The games are labeled with stickers and categorized from low, medium to high in the difficulty of the game; popular games are in one section and family games are upfront. If you're looking for a little bit of socialization they have group games which we were fortunate enough to play a game called werewolf, which was a lot of fun, and yes I will be purchasing it! Speaking of purchasing, they do have games for sale. They have little concession stand with grab and go sandwiches, mini crudité snack packs and sandwiches along with gourmet popcorn, and snacks if you want something to munch on while you're playing games. If you want to quencher your thirst they have adult beverages, water, sodas, juice, coffee and Tea. And a few steps away are very clean bathrooms, fully stocked with mints flossing picks and items for the ladies (wink-wink)... All in all Luck Factory Games is a great concept and for just $5 per person you can have a fun night out! read more

What a concept! A place where you pay $5.00 and play games with friends. There are literally hundreds of games; many I am not even familiar with. No worries because the staff will help you with the game. If you want to play the more adult games all you have to do is ask. They keep many of them separated so they don't get into the "Wrong hands". Also there is a rating on the games in the case parents want their kids to avoid those games. You can purchase food and beverages there. Adjacent to the store is a brewery for adult beverages. There is also a section where you can buy new a s gently used games. Again, great idea for those that like to play board games. When we went to visit we saw a dad with his kids playing a board game in one area. Another section was an extended family playing a game and having a lot of fun. You can have parties there if you want. You just have to schedule in advance. I hope you get a chance to visit. I came here via a Meetup invite to play Dungeons and Dragons. It's on the bottom floor of the Gibson Mill, a very hip food hall. I was a little put off when we first got there because when I said we came because of the Meetup invite, we were told "Oh, you should have used Discord. The only one who uses Meetup is the owner. We all use Discord.". .. Ok, well can we still play? There was a lot of running around but yes, we could. In the end it was fun. I have NEVER played D&D before so the invite for "all levels" was a bit of a stretch, but Scotty who worked there got us set up and was VERY patient with this newbie. Otherwise the place has about a million games, tons of seating, food options (though I didn't eat anything) and $8 for all-you-can-play I think is very reasonable. read more

Did someone say board games? This new spot is FULL of games, literally wall-to-wall. Located at the Gibson Mill in Concord, this is a great place to spend an evening or an afternoon. For $5 per adult (kids under 6 are free) you can drop in, grab a game, and have fun. It would be difficult to imagine any board game not in their inventory. And, if you fall in love with a specific game, there are several you can purchase to take home and enjoy. There is a café with snacks and drinks and of course T-shirts and other merchandise for purchase, too. There is a private room that can be reserved for birthday parties, special events, etc. We visited for a kids birthday party and it was a blast! The staff was super engaging and helpful. For an added bonus, this game spot is connected to a brewery! You can head next-door, grab a beer, and come back and play. The only downside for us is that we were visiting from out of town, hopefully there will be one in our area soon. The Factory is located on the bottom floor of the mill. There are a few parking spots on the bottom level down the hill, and plenty of spots up top. Happy gaming! read more

I have been a couple of times. Both times were a blast. I came and played D&D first with my existing group. We couldn't meet in our usual venue and this was a great place to fight our Big Bad Boss. There was a small cover charge to participate and use the space but the space was well kept and polished. The spot is next to a brewery so good access to beer. The LFG spot has snacks and drinks for sale and has a friendly helpful staff. I returned again for a St. Patrick's Day event and it was a ton of fun. I would recommend them to any tabletop gaming enthusiast. read more

I would give 10 stars if I was able. Lucky Factory Games is the best place to go if you are looking for some good quality solo/friend/family time. They have literally 1000's of board games to choose from for a minimal cover charge. They even have a great selection of games to purchase, too! The owners, Alison and Nick, are some of the nicest people I know. I was looking for a place to play D&D and meet people in the community. Nick gave me that opportunity ten fold and now we have grown a not-so-small D&D community and get to play every Wednesday night and some Saturday afternoons. I have a D&D group that meets every other week and had a hard time with landing a place to play. We booked the private room and Nick made sure we had everything we needed. Asked for a table layout and how many people were there, and everything was set up before we arrived. We definitely felt like we were special and important. A+++ for customer service. What ever the Luck Factory Games is doing, I want me and my family to be apart of it. If you like board games, this is the place to go. For $5.00 you can sit all day and play any one of over the 1000 games they have available. If you're new to board games or want to try a game before you buy it, the staff will go over the game rules and how to play. They even walk you through the first couple of rounds to get started. If you want to just play and figure it out yourself, you can do that too. My wife and I were visiting from Georga and just lucked into this place. They have light food and snacks if you want to eat while you play. We had a great time and would be here all the time if we were local. They have games for sale too. This just became our favorite go-to date. We were headed to the brewery next door then saw the sign and decided to investigate. This is an awesome gaming cafe. They have every game and then some. The staff is amazingly helpful. They have cue cards so you can ask for help, be left alone, need food or ask for the check. Nick and his wife are experts at all the games and went the extra mile in labeling everything including type of game, difficulty, and how long each game takes to play. They made choosing a game that much easier. There is a snack stand with a variety of goodies including beer and wine. We found ourselves coming back more and more, then decided to do the monthly membership. I highly recommend it. The place has a great atmosphere, great staff, and awesome games. We love the Luck Factory! D&D night on Wednesday is such a fun experience. My husband takes one of our daughters almost every week. She loves it. We've brought our other children and their friends and had a great time playing some of the store games. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The snacks are delicious (the charcuterie board is my favorite) and there's even alcoholic drinks for the adults. It's a great enviroment to hang out with friends or family. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this cool and neat boutique store. Given the popularity of board games and the social interaction they provide Luck Factory Games is an oasis. Modern board games have become more sophisticated and expensive and Luck Factory Games has this vast library of the games available for people try out. Yes, you can read reviews on Board Game Geek, but nothing informs like being able to sit down and learn and play the game without purchasing to decide if a particular game is worth the investment. Luck Factory Games has a well trained and friendly staff to help you learn the games for a nominal fee of $5, no pressure sales tactics, a clean, beautifully laid out setting, and a small snack bar where if you want you can even get a beer. The place is extremely family friendly, has a back room perfect for group organizations and birthday parties, and there is even a regular Wednesday Dungeons and Dragons night where you can learn how to play that game as well. The store also caters to the Pokemon and other collectible card games hosting regular tournaments, and all set among the Gibson Mills shops, restaurants, and breweries.
