I came in with my seven year old son on 3/31/25 around 5 o'clock looking for a Batman comic that he's interested in. When we were checking out I heard a middle aged white either employee or owner that screamed and swore at a group of teenagers which I. My son was scared and clearly traumatized from this and I thought it was clearly unprovoked and unprofessional. read more

Love the pbkw community! Great ownership and awesome location! Ride or die for the pbkw people! Dog friendly too as long as it behaves! 10 out of 5 stars! read more

Comics and Games it reads in big red letters and that's pretty much what is inside; games, comics, games about comics about games and a pile paraphernalia to accompany either. Stopped in hoping to find some engaging coöper-tition games suitable for mixed company. I was looking for something not death oriented, not magical, not fantastic, not criminal, not apocalyptic, not sexual, and apparently NOT AVAILABLE. I was studiously ignored for the entirety of my visit by three guys at the front counter who were engaged in a dice-and-profanity game and the folks at the tables out back doing... ?!? Maybe I should just shop online? read more

Excellent neighborhood card and collectible store. Good Magic The Gathering cards and tournaments, Pokémon CTG selection is ok. Warhammer is ok as well. Staff is friendly and helpful. Would recommend to beginners and experienced players/collectors. Very good all around! read more

The service there is outstanding!! The workers are friendly and seem to care about their customers. So many varieties of board games, card games! Comics, funkos, and much more!! Thanks for all your help today!! read more

The one game that grabbed my attention was the the table-top card game Magic the Gathering (MtG). They have everything imaginable for this all time greatest of card games. You can find singles from about every set out there plus boosters and decks for the newest sets. MtG has come a long way and this place does a good job of keeping it going. Every night is a game night here and half the store is actually not a store but is rather devoted to rows upon rows of tables for gaming. They of course do tons of other card games including Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh to name a few. And of course Dungeons and Dragons and figure/landscape based games like Warhammer. On the side that belongs to the store they have plenty of gaming accessories: dice, paints, landscape and figure pieces, deck and card boxes and sleeves and much more. Not to mention they have an extensive collection of comics including plenty most of us have never even heard of. Last but certainly not least, they've got a couple of shelf-fulls of unusual indie-made board games. These things are perhaps the most intriguing, encompassing any number of unthought-of or simply out-there genres. The staff is great by the way. They are all of course very much into the subject matter. They were very inspiring to me, often talking me into getting back into the fun game of Magic the Gathering and coming back on the regular. I'm sure the folks here are always on the look out for some new blokes to beat up on with their awesome deck builds. But I'm always sure to go back! read more

I wish I lived closer so I could come to this store more often. Lots of games and variety. They also have comics but I don't know much about them. Board game night is Thursdays. read more

Board games? Check. Card games? Check. Comics? Check. PBKW is THE place to go for your nerdy needs if your in the Cornelius/Huntersville/Davidson area. Matt (the owner) runs a wonderful business. Great prices on products, helpful staff. They have a massive open gaming area for board games and such, and they have events constantly. I've been coming here for years (since before they moved into the new building) and I would recommend anyone to stop by. Even if you don't think your into board games or miniatures or comics give it a chance, you never know what you might find that'll peak your interest. read more

Parker Banner Kent & Wayne - Comic Books Near Me - Cornelius, North Carolina

This was my go-to game store. I used to come for the Thursday night board games. The numbers are down and many stick to the groups they have already established. This isn't the stores fault, it is frustrating to go and have nobody to play with because everyone else is already in a game. They also run the pantheon of Magic the Gathering events. Three of the big attractions for me are: 1) The owner is incredibly nice and tries out new games with people; 2) There are tons of tables, half this store is play area; 3) Free to play copies of board games - the owner has at least 50 games on a rolling shelf he brings out for board game night. If you are curious about this community then they are dire need of new blood. Be willing to meet new people and make new friends. Business as usual around here isn't going to keep this destination going. They sell plenty of comics, miniatures, and board games. This is one of the most respectable game collections around. read more

Went in tried to get 200 basic land cards would normally be free. But tried to charge be 10 cents each. I also purchased 2 card sleeves pack of 100 s and a 36 count of dice so i came prepared to spend money just not robbed. Guy then says he could do 7 cents. Owen was a great chill guy. Hopefully they fix the issue but over all your average game store let's hope the next time I go it's better and I have more positive things to say. read more

Worst mask compliance I have seen to date. Out of around 20 people in the store maybe 3 were masked & it was customers not the employees. Despite their excellent selection of paints left without a purchase because I won't give my money to a business who thinks so little of other people, especially one named after masked Heros, disappointing. read more

An early night in a Hampton means I get to catch up on some reviews that were caught in the draft pile! This place gets a point for the name. I looked at it and though OK there are four dudes that opened up a comic .... wait a minute.... OK that is just plain cool, well done Sir! And you, fellow Yelper, get bonus points for knowing the name's origin(s). ;) "The Good" - A large selection of GW products including 40K, Warhammer and even some Lord of the Rings. - A very large selection of games, both board and card, and enough to keep you occupied at looking at them for at least a half hour. - A very very large selection of comics and novels with the new stuff and the old stuff mixed in. - Although the picture did not turn out, there is a large gaming area with tables that go on for the length of the store. This is always the sticking point that separates a good game store from the place you go to get some stuff once in a while. - As will all good gaming stores there is the cute alt girl behind the register. - Sample armies in cases to give you some eye candy while you are looking at what your armies could look like in a few weeks. - Lets not forget the life-sized Deadpool that guards the door when you go in... you never know when someone is in the suit.... "The Meh" - Nothing really bad to comment on. "The Bad" - Nothing really bad either... go get a comic book and read the original summer blockbusters ;) read more

This store has it all! Since coming to the area, I've been in search for a one-stop shop for all things geek. This is the place! They have an extensive collection of board games, tabletop games, toys, and comics. Towards the back of the shop, they have space for customers to play their games, and a fair amount of tabletop terrain for the war-type games. While the store my not be huge, it's packed from wall to wall with treasures from Nerdvana! I highly recommend letting your inner geek loose, and stop in for a gander! Noosh read more

This place is awesome and the staff is amazing. Went there for the first time tonight and was blown away by the customer service! Super generous, authentic, and passionate people create a great environment. I could not give a higher recommendation. Thanks to the great guy at the register for helping out!!! read more

I travel pretty frequently so I like to check-out the comic chops in the areas I visit. This place has a huge space - clearly for card/game tournaments. The comics section seemed quite small and I didn't find many recent issues (past couple months) available. The back issues seemed to be limited to a few long-boxes in the middle. Overall, it was a great store with a friendly staff. The signage from the main road could be a little better, as well, as I had some trouble finding the place (it's next to a Rite-Aid). read more

There are few comic stores around the Lake Norman area, so it's very fortunate that PBKW is awesome as well. Everyone there knows their stuff and will help you find back issues you might be missing or new books worth a closer look. Some stores can seem a little unfriendly to a non-hardcore fan, but that isn't the case here. Very friendly and comfortable. They've got a great selection of board games, card games, and even rpg books, and have game nights if you want to check out something new. If you like comics and games, stop in and visit! read more

This is my go to game place. The owner, Matt, is the nicest owner I have ever met. I schmooze with all the game store owners I can and I have lived throughout the Carolinas and Virginia. I go here every Thursday for the board game night. This store has so much play space you never feel cramped. I have never been pushed out of the way to make space for a Magic the Gathering event (this has happened other places). I wish there were more promotional products available for game night events but I don't fault the store - some games don't have very many players to support such events. The staff are very personable and when not working they play games in this place in their own time. The owner plays games with people on game night. There is no better endorsement than the owner and employees choosing to spend free time at the store. In terms of inculcating new people I give this store a 5. Due to the gaming community being thin in some games such as Netrunner, or Ascension and thus not as much game support as I would like I can't give a 5 because even if beyond the stores control that detracts from the venue. There are more female gamers at this store than any other place I have ever been. This is indicative of the friendly non-threatening environment of inclusion at this store. If you are a hardcore board game player you may want to find a dedicated group, but if you are a casual to casual plus a bit heavier then this is the perfect place to game. read more

PBKW is still great. I just wanted to update on the growing board game night going on Thursdays. Bring your own or come play the ones others bring. read more

I've popped in here a couple of times since moving to the area to check out their wares. They may be a bit tricky to find but are attached to the Rite Aid off Catawba Ave. This is my kind of comic shop where they don't specialize in just comics, but have other nerd relics like card games, board games, action figures, collectibles and more. I grew up reading comics, and while I've gotten away from them for the most part now I still enjoy perusing graphic novels at times. They have a pretty big selection of comics ranging from older single issues to volumes collecting many issues. There is also a wall full of action figures and collectibles...plenty to choose from for decorating your nerd cave. I mainly go to check out the board game selection. I enjoy checking out new board games and PBK&W have a ton to choose from. They carry everything from standalone versions to expansion packs, and the selection ranges from the popular to the obscure. They also have a section for miniatures if you're into collecting and painting up little armies. A good chunk of the store is also devoted to tables and chairs for people to play board and card games. You can go on their website to see what games are being featured on a particular night. All in all, PBK&W is a great stop for get your nerd on. The friendly staff won't hassle you while you browse at your leisure, and they have more than just comics (unlike some other shops in the area.) Head on over and geek up! read more

Parker Banner Kent & Wayne (or PBKW) is the best comic/game store I've ever been in. First off: comics. I am more of a comic guy than a gamer so the books are what drew me here to begin with after a recommendation from a friend. They normally have a good selection of the week's new releases. I have a box where they pull and hold the books I'm subscribed to so I can count on getting the books I want each week. They also have a great selection of back issues and trade paperbacks. Next: games. After hanging around the store, I've met a lot of other great people and have started playing games you can find in the store. Each Thursday is board game night and you'll have a great time meeting new people and playing different table top games each week. They have a huge selection of table top, board games, card games, and models. They also host Magic the gathering tournaments, Pokemon game days, and more. Last but not least: customer service. The staff is great. You'll quickly make friends with Matt and Ed and the others and look forward to your conversations each week. Also, there are lots of incentives for shopping there. You can very easily earn free store credit and free back issues!! Such a great place to shop and give my business to each week!! read more

Nice space lots of events and leagues including some for kids/teens. I love there full sized superhero costumes/dummies. I wish they had their inventory online. Also, they don't specifically stock foils so if you prefer to buy foils (I don't) then this may not be where you want to shop for individual cards. read more

What a large store. Seems like most of the Comic and Game stores I have seen are small holes in the wall. PBKW though has an enormous selection of games of all types. Card games, miniatures etc. They even specialize in off the wall games for toddlers. I often buy or order cool little games for my daughter or as birthday presents for her preschool friends. Each night there are themed games nights. But the gaming area is so large that even still you can play whatever you want any night of the week. There's no charge to play games in the store, which I guess is what helps keep you coming back. Highly recommended place to shop and play. read more

My daughter loves this store. They are always so nice and helpful! The owner and his wife are sweet people. Great selection of comics too!

Will not be back any time soon. Way too many employees and customers not wearing masks. And one person at the cash register talking on the phone and no employee asked him to move. I did not feel safe. read more

Great store for gaming. The owners are very accommodating and will work with you as much as possible. Some nights are dedicating to specific games and it can be a pretty good size crowd at times. All types of people though don't be surprised to see the stereotypical gamer types as most common. If you have a question - you may need to ask. Many of the employees will assume you know what you need or can find it (half the store is for gaming the other half has inventory for sale so there isn't far to look). Once you engage them in a conversation they are very knowledgeable and helpful. I think the owner is working on this as the past couple of times in the store the employees have come to me to ask if I needed any help. Its a good start for those that may not be comfortable knowing what they need. I appreciate them providing a place to play and to meet others. It is possible to find things for less but I find it worthwhile to pay the MSRP at this store to help support small businesses in general and this store in particular. read more

Well I was looking for a comic for my nephews birthday since he collects older issues of Spider-Man. This year is a special birthday and I walked in with a wad of cash, prepared to spend what I needed to get him something he would really be thrilled to get. Apparently not from here, since Im not knowledgeable on the subject, I needed help. The clerk(s) couldn't be bothered, I was never even acknowledged. Piece of advice: if you aren't an under 25 ghoul with nothing more going for yourself than hanging around a comic shop all day unbathed and playing goth games then don't bother. read more
