One of the coolest interiors in Madison. The pizza is the main thing to go to in my opinion, but the night life is also good. Definitely not a place for a quick bite, but the food tastes amazing and the service is always friendly read more

Food: Super amazing. Honestly anyone that gives a bad review of the food is just full of shit. Building: gorgeous Service: Swift and to the point, couldn't ask for more. Lounge: dark, but a cool place to wait until a table opened with a good selection. read more

One of my Madison favorites! Such a unique atmosphere and layout with some bomb pizza. Lucille also has a great variety of cocktails and Wisconsin beers that I have never heard of. My boyfriend and I split the Umami pizza which was SO good. 10/10 would recommend. This came on the hand tossed crust which I liked more than the pan style crust. Service was good although it took about 20 minutes to get the drink I ordered, which after asked, the manager delivered to my table after apologizing and saying the bar was "backed up." She also took it off our bill, which I could appreciate! All in all great experience at Lucille, however my only complaint is how close the 2 top tables on the upper level are. We had to try and ignore the conversations next to us! read more

The woodfired pizzas are awesome, lots of other great options and a decent beer selection, would recommend!

We went here to celebrate my girlfriends 1 year anniversary together and we had an unbelievable experience. From the Hosts doing a killer job, to the service we received on a BUSY Friday to the timeliness of our food it was a 10/10 not to mention we were sat right in front of the capital which was unbelievable view. We only got apps and drinks which is okay because we will be going back to try some more food. They are killing the game and not being too classy/pricey about it read more

I had really high expectations for the food here but I left feeling a bit disappointed. I went with my boyfriend for the Madison Restaurant Week special because it seemed like a good deal, which it was! However the food and drinks were just meh. The Caesar salad was super cold and I could tell that it had been chilling in the fridge for a while before being served, also the dressing was not very flavorful. The pizza was okay, but as far as wood fired pizza goes, there are better places in town for that. The sauce on the pizza was a little too sweet for my liking and the jalapeños were also somewhat sweet like they were pickled or something. But like the saying goes, pizza is like sex, even if it's bad it's still pretty good. Hah okay moving on, the wine was nothing to write home about and the Riesling had an aftertaste of blood which I thought was weird, I switched to the house white blend and that wasn't much better either. And finally, the brownie for desert came out half warm/half cold and was pretty hard. I heated it up the next day to try it again and it tasted like salt. Overall, I would not go back here to eat again but I loved the vibe of the restaurant and the service was really great so I could see myself coming back here for drinks, especially in the summer to enjoy the patio. read more

Many people from Madison told me to go to Lucille because it's one of those restaurants that foodies need to go to. Well, it is true that everything I had - a cocktail, cheese curds, and the umami pizza - was good. There were nearly no complaints when it came to the actual food - minus the kale stems being left intact on the pizza. But let me be clear, everything I ate was overpriced for what it was. The pizza was $28, the curds $9. We are talking about two foods that originated from common folk, that somehow now cost nearly $40 between the two. They also offer tacos - you know, those super cheap street food pleasantries? Yeah, they charge $16-17 for them here. The most expensive tacos I've ever heard of. I know I said the food was good, but I've had better curds and better gourmet pizza - both for cheaper. The cocktails were generally boring and drinks anyone could easily make at home. Our waiter was very slow and didn't seem to want to be there. Nobody came to our table for the first 10 minutes. At the end, we waited 40 minutes to get a to-go box and our bill. The whole dinner experience from start to finish took 2.5 hours - which is a lot of waiting time. I'd say if you want to spend that kind of money, go elsewhere. read more

I finally made it back to Lucille for a second visit yesterday and I'm so glad I did. I really enjoyed the two drinks I had off their new cocktail menu and the Couch Potato steel pan pizza was delish. Hope to make it back again soon! read more

First time - nice bar staff, friendly and efficient. Sat upstairs and had great service. A couple apps and some pizzas and everyone was in a coma. Only negative was they forgot one of the entrees but they apologized and comped it. Great spot on the square. Worth a stop. read more

We visited Lucille on a Sunday afternoon. They were not busy at all, one would think service would be better. Our server Kelly only had 3 tables including us, and we were all seated right next to each other. He apparently could only handle one task at a time because every time he was at one table he went to the server's station. It took forever to get our sodas, which he couldn't even remember after a few seconds (there were only 2 of us and we both ordered Pepsi). Our pizza was good. He never came back to check on us until we were finished and then asked if we needed refills. We asked to have our check right away, but then it took him forever to come back for the credit card, and he only did because he saw us starting to get up from across the room. We were getting up to go pay downstairs because he never came back. I almost always give a place a few chances, but Kelly's service was so bad I doubt we will be back. read more

Quick review: Food: delicious. Service: Poor. SLOW. Five of us tried Lucille today for lunch. We were seated quickly and served our drinks relatively quickly. But, we waited well over an hour and a half for our food. Lunch should not take nearly two hours. Patrons will not go here for lunch if they think it will take more than an hour. Our wait staff seemed inexperienced. PLEASE train the staff before you open. Our party had both the Detroit panned pizza and the Neapolitan wood-fired pizza, the lunch pizza. We all enjoyed the salad that comes with the lunch. Not quite to the standards of Pizza Brutta, but very good. Pizza and a very good salad for $10 is a great value. I know the place is new and I will try again. But, service needs major improvement. I really want to like this place. read more

Way too loud to hear the person across from you talk. The tables probably contribute to this as you feel like you are a mile away from the people you are eating with. Food is okay, nothing magical and the service could be better. So-so maybe a one and done type of place. read more

Ordered pizza here before, but service is abysmal. Clearly a bunch of college kids who don't know what they're doing in a restaurant. Wouldn't trust them to hold a reservation much less notify you that your order is cancelled. If you want to actually get food, go or order anywhere else. read more

Make no mistake - the pizza here is really, really good. A bit pricey, but absolutely worth trying. However, from the time I walked through the door to the time we actually got the pizza we ordered, two and a half hours had passed. We were told there's be a 30 minute wait... which ended up being an hour. It happens, I get it. Placed our order as soon as possible, and it ended up being another hour until the food came. They forgot one of the pizzas we ordered, which meant another half hour wait until things were settled. Not guaranteeing this will happen to you, but holy cow I hope you make reservations. Regardless, be prepared to wait a very, very long time to get your pizza. read more

One of my favorite bars in Madison. Popular with 20-something's on the weekends. Huge horse shoe style bar with lots of standing room around the bar stools and some tables on the main floor. The unpairs is usually less crowded with plenty of booths for larger groups. The downstairs is truly a gem- old bank vault turned into lounge with swanky couch seating. There is also a small bar downstairs. Great drinks for decent price! I love their Moscow mules. Also their pizza is amazing!! And cheese curds are some of my favorite in town. Good weekday specials as well. read more

Understaffed, and uncoordinated kitchen/ service/bar staff were serving customers, arriving last, the same meal as ordered by customers arriving earlier, considerably earlier, including us. Where was the manager? read more

Went to Lucille on the night before the Great Taste, as we have for years. They were not allowing anyone in the bar, unless barstools were available. Completely understandable. However, 2/3 of the outside tables were empty & the hosts refused to seat anyone at them. No explanation, & rude hosts. We finally convinced another host to seat us inside. No idea what they're doing, but the lasting impression was terrible service. I suspect Central Waters will pick another venue next year, and we'll gladly follow suit. read more

We dined outside on a Monday night. The food was great but the service was definitely lacking. It was awhile before we were offered water or our drink order was taken, we weren't given silverware or napkins and had to wait to eat until we could flag down the server to get some, and we were finished for close to 10 minutes before our server came back and we could ask for the check. Overall a great place but it seems they were understaffed on this night. read more

I'm a fan of Lucille!! I feel like their food and service has gotten better and better the longer they have been open. They currently have gluten free shrimp empanadas on the menu that are UNREAL. Service is really good, and they have a good, changing selection of meals. read more

Lucille - Mojo Pork Tacos! Absolutely delicious! - Pizza Near Me - Madison, Wisconsin

Nice casual atmosphere, but overpriced pizza and food for what you ultimately get. If you're just looking for a decent craft beer selection and bar, then maybe this is your place. But I wouldn't waste your money on the food when there are plenty of other options all over the capitol square. read more

Absolutely love this place. Stop here first when looking for a place on the square. It's cute and hipstery (but not stuck up or overpriced), great beer selection and fantastic food - and amazing pizzas. Great service and great ambiance. read more

I really love Lucille's atmosphere and ambiance. They don't have a lot of options but the pizza's here are great and the service during dinner is good but they could improve. I highly recommend visiting during Christmas time; the decor is very fun and festive and you can't help but feel the holiday spirit. It is a semi expensive restaurant so be prepared for that. The drink menu is great.. you have a ton of options but they are slow on bringing your drinks over. I enjoy coming in during dinner time but when it comes to dropping by for a drink after dinner, the bartender's are dismissive and can come off a little rude but it's tolerable. read more

Called in to make a reservation and talked to Charlie. She could not have been ruder. She talked down to me like I was a child and prematurely hung up instead of putting our name on the waitlist. Not planning on coming. read more

The food was great but we had the worst, most unfriendly bartender I have ever encountered in a restaurant experience! He clearly did not want to be there. He never once asked us how our food was and after we got our first drink he never came back to ask us if we wanted another drink or anything else. He ignored us the entire time we were there. I'm still not sure why we tipped him the standard 20%. read more

new, trendy pizza joint, right off the Capitol. They had a nice beer and wine list. I had a local APA from karben4 that was delicious. Tried both a wood fired pizza, and a pan. The wood fired was absolutely delicious: spinach, garlic, banana peppers... The pan was good, I'm just not a big fan of the thick crust style. The wait has been long on the weekend I'm told, we had a party of two and took the last table at 6pm on Thursday night. read more

This place is a ton of fun! Not only is the food great, but so is the staff and general ambiance. I highly recommend going for their "Cheap Date Night" on a Wednesday, but make reservations! It's a great deal: $40 for a bottle of bubbly, a salad, a pizza, and a dessert to all split between two people. We got the Umami pizza, and it was totally weird and awesome-- very unlike any other pizza I've ever had. We will definitely be coming back here to try more things soon! read more

Hands down one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. It was the trifecta of a not attentive waitress, PAINFULLY slow service and when our food did arrive it was burnt and lukewarm. Half of our party ordered pizzas and the other half ordered dinners (salmon and tacos). 2 out of 4 pizzas were burnt and the people who ordered the dinners waited an additional 25 minutes for their food, and then when it arrived it was lukewarm. Would NEVER attempt to eat here again...blech read more

The food is pretty good but the hosts and hostesses are too rude for words. Twice we have been here and the place was empty at 11am on a Sunday. They made us wait, would not seat us in a shady spot despite there being a dozen spots in the shade that were open. They were rude, curt and slightly obnoxious. Unfortunately, two of the hosts/hostesses were rude. There are plenty of places to eat in Madison and we don't need to come back here. read more

Went here with a bachelorette party. We had delicious pizza and free drinks when we checked in with Yelp! The menu had a lot of vegetarian options which was great. Service was a bit spotty as they forgot one of our groups pizza's. The group was a bit surprised when we sat, as they told us another group was scheduled to have our table at a specific time - giving a time limit to our experience there, which I have never experienced before at a restaurant. read more

Great cocktails and beer selection. Robert was an OK bartender but Paul was excellent!

We were told that when in Madison we need to try Lucille's and we are so happy that we did. What a great environment full of good people, fun drinks, and out of this world pizza! We went with the sausage-fest Steel pan pizza which was enormous. Luckily we saw the table next to us order first or we would have been stuck with 2 boxes for leftovers. Perfectly crisp thick crust pizza stack with piles of cheese and sausage. All of their pizzas looked amazing but I will say you can't go wrong with the sausage-fest! read more

Very good Brussels sprout pizza, but too loud and a bit over priced. I would say it's about the 4th best pizza place in Madison (for reference: one, two, and three are Salvatore's, Brutta, and porta alba respectively). However, if you're on capitol looking for a totally solid pizza before heading to the majestic, this is a perfectly good place to eat. read more

Being a recent resident of Chicago I was rather hesitant when my girlfriend suggested a madison based pizza joint.. Lucille blew me away. Without a reservation I got sat on the second level with a beautiful view of the capital. We ordered a a delicious pizza along with an affordable bottle of wine (I'm 23 cut me some slack). I digress, our server was more than courteous and I will certainly be back. Couples! Ask about their Wednesday deal, pizza, app, and champagne babayyy, Cheers! read more

Lucille's is my current favorite. I almost always get the Hotel National drink and whatever the pie of the week is. I've never been disappointed. Plus, the view out of the second story is incredible -- I got to watch the sun set over the capital building. Definitely recommend the cheese curds and fried green tomatoes, so good! read more
