Lucille got it going on. With three amazingly designed floors, great drinks and along with some off-the-chain noms, there's almost no place like it in Madison. Soft open was today and I got ya say, I'm impressed by the decore, food and service. Can't wait to have more to talk about. read more

Order the Sausage and Raab 14" wood-fired pizza from the brunch menu this afternoon, which I thought was delicious! Major deduction, however, was the burnt bottom of the pizza which can be tasted on some bites. Major improvement in quality control is needed, Lucille (this is not the first complaint about burnt status)! read more

Great bar service and great cocktails. Kenny was great and the outdoor seating is awesome!

Drinks were awesome, great Monday specials. Especially great service from Kenny, thanks!!

Amazing building. Food was flavorful and well presented. Cheese curds, cheese pizza, tacos and empanada. The food servers were great. Nice eye contact, kind verbal interaction. Thank you! Host station was leaving a rough, snarky feel in my soul. The constant side eye from one was troubling to say the least. Server situation, drinks were a struggle. Shirley temples were a bottle of grenadine with a splash of Sierra Mist. Amaretto was clearly to complicated to retrieve. We ordered and basically never seen B until the check needed to be dropped. Hoping the added guaranteed gratuity wasn't a free for all to treat them how you want because, I still get tipped type of situation. . Overall the restaurant was nice, Everyone eating seemed happy. Not sure if it was just situational to our party? read more

First time at Lucille's and had a great experience. We enjoyed sitting outside celebrating 2 birthdays of our friend group! The food was excellent, the drinks were excellent but where we were really blown away was the service! Blake was AMAZING! He went out of his way to make our day special. He was very charming and kept up his wit with our table. Definitely brought our 10/10 experience to an 11! ;) Blake is an absolute STAR! Hope to have him as a server again! read more

Delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. We shared the Sausage and Arab pizza and the Pulled Pork Tacos with chips and salsa. The pizza was crisp with excellent flavor and a tasty crust (very good dipped in the salsa!). The tacos were also delicious, though a bit salty for my taste. I also enjoyed the salsa, which was a combination of salsa verde and pico de gallo. We sat upstairs in the window for an excellent view of the capitol building on a clear night. It doesn't get much better! read more

A large group of us went here for dinner Saturday night. I really appreciate that you can reserve a table online in advance. The atmosphere and building are really cool, and the service was great! It wasn't super quick but we were okay with it because we got to catch up. I got the Moscow mule which was yummy and I ordered the Umami pizza. SO good. The size of the pizzas are perfect, and we swapped slices to try as many pizzas as possible. Great experience! read more

We started off with drinks in the basement, a bar and lounge is very convenient while waiting for your table. This location was formerly a bank, and turned into a restaurant after the recession. My only critique for the lounge would be improved lighting ambience, it was very dim, and the bar is not fully loaded. The pizza was incredible! You can get it all, from gluten free, to deep dish, and cooked in a traditional oven or fire brick oven. I loved this place! read more

Wow on a trip for work my colleague and I enjoyed a dinner at Lucille. The decor of this restaurant is very industrial. We loved all of the old touches of exposed Brick, old flooring, and vintage lighting fixtures. I will get her was very nice but at times it was hard to track him down when we were in need of refills and the food took a little bit of time to come out. We ordered Cheese curds an appetizer served with 2 dipping sauces, both were delicious. Unfortunately the pizza we wanted was pictured on the website and we tried to get the same one by showing him a photo. The pizza was nowhere close to being anything like the photo and it took quite a while for it to come out. Overall I would give this place 3.5 stars. I do appreciate the free drink up on yelp check in, thank you for that. The restaurant did not live up to the hype. With so many other options in Madison I don't think I would head back here again. read more

Use your check-in for a free Moscow Mule! They do not skimp on the alcohol content or taste of these mules, and since they are tapped, the mules will always taste the same! Highly recommend the beef empanada and the guacamole (to share!). The bartenders here are always great. read more

The day after our wedding, my husband and I had a brunch for 28 people at Lucille. We coordinated this event a couple of weeks beforehand by getting in contact with Maddy, the Director of Hospitality and Events. Communication was easy and frequent. When we decided on the menu, Maddy was careful to take note of several food allergies and restrictions within the group. On the day of the brunch, the food came out coursed and with labels so our guests could keep healthy and safe. The tacos, pizza, salad, and beverages were delicious! We were delighted to be able to share our celebration with friends and family at a venue with gorgeous views of the capital and excellent food and service. We 100% recommend Lucille for your next event, cocktail, and meal! read more

We've visited Lucille several times before the pandemic and enjoy the space. It's a large space with a decent sized bar. They have a nice variety of cocktails and beer. Their empanadas with the aji sauce are amazing. The chicken tinga and sweet potato ones are my favorite. My husband loves their pizza, the deep dish style. Their tacos look really good and I really wanna try those next. Recently, we were able to get an outdoor table they have on the street now. I'd highly recommend a reservation a couple days in advanced, especially if you plan on going on a Friday or Saturday. read more

A great hot-spot in Madison! Super cool vibes and a vault bar downstairs which is reallllyyyyyyy cool. Always super packed which is a downside but for good reason! The food and drinks are delicious! We had shared the Mediterranean with chicken added. The crust was cooked to perfection and the pizza had a bite to it. However, it was a bit overloaded on the artichoke. We got a 14" and it was the perfect size for both of us. We paired it with a solid bottle of champagne but, I've been here a few times and have had other cocktails, all equally as good. The service was quick and friendly! Loved the bartenders and the hosts. Although, I wish they took reservations for parties less than 4. We waited an hour for a table for two so in the meantime we just ended up ordering at the bar.. By the time we ate and finished our drinks I got a text from the Hostess that our table was ready. Be prepared to wait a long time without a reservation! Or just show up early to get your name on the wait list. read more

Building is amazing. The beer verity is great. Food is bland and from Sysco or Gordon Food. With the caveat that I have only been here once and I've only eaten the steel pan (Detroit style) pizza, I enjoyed it enough that I just can't hold it in. The crust was thick, but not heavy or dense or greasy and the edges were caramelized and shockingly delicious. I haven't had Detroit style before, so I don't know how it compares to its cousins. I haven't tried their wood fired pizzas and I don't know how I ever will at this rate. Also had a plantain desert with caramel and coconut ice cream that was also surprisingly good and much lighter than I expected. Salvatore's is probably still my favorite pizza in Madison, but Lucille's steel pan is definitely going in my rotation. That caramelized crust, though. read more

Lucille was my first destination during a recent visit to Madison and really set the bar for my dining and drinking experiences! Our waiter, Dan, was super patient, helpful, and attentive. He was able to help us with our drink selections, which we very much enjoyed. The cheese curds were amazing! We ordered the chips and guac as well; they give you a hefty helping of guacamole for the price and even replenished the chips when they noticed we had finished. Really enjoyed Lucille as an apps + drinks place to start before going out for the night, but would also love to come back and try the pizza (it all smelled and looked incredible). read more

I came here for drinks while in town for a visit. My husband had a cider while I opted for the Mexican Firing Squad. On yelp there's an offer for a free beer with purchase. That didn't seem to sit well with the bartender with the backwards hat. After showing him the offer and asking for the check he "forgot" for about 15 minutes before I had to hail someone else down. Don't promote a Yelp offer if you're going to be pissy about it. read more

I like to try as many pizza places when I travel for work, so I was excited for this one. The steel pan was solid, good pizza. Good amounts of toppings and cheese, excellent crust. The wood fired "the Queen" however, I feel like I got scammed, I wish I had taken a pic as it looked nothing other pictures posted, I'm wondering if I had been in person and not delivery, if they would have been too embarrassed to serve it to me. read more

Finally had an opportunity to come here last night. It has been on my list of restaurants to try for so long. I was a part of a large group and we were promptly greeted and seated (had reservations). I really love the layout and ambiance of the place. Relaxing and casual but also classy (if that makes sense). The drink list was full of creative cocktails, the wine list wasn't big but had the necessities. We ordered guacamole with chips and cheese curds for the table. The guac was delicious and the cheese curds jumped to the top of my 'favorite cheese curds in town' list (right under Craftsman). We ordered 4 pizzas for the table. 2 of the steel pan (deep dish) and 2 wood fired (thin crust). One of the thin crusts we ordered was the Sonoma, and wow it was delicious! The prosciutto, goat cheese, and arugula tasted amazing together. As for the steel pan, I had a slice of the 6 mile classic. It was good, but I thought it was a little too bready for the amount of toppings. I know this is Detroit style (which I've never had,) so maybe it's supposed to be like that, but I'm just personally not a huge fan of it. Doesn't mean it was bad, just not my favorite, but I did finish the slice! The service was fantastic. Everything came out quickly and accurately. We basically just had the server split the check 9 ways, and she came out with a portable card machine. How convenient! She ran each of our individual cards right at the table, and I love that. I will most certainly be back to Lucille. There are many more pizzas I want to try! read more

I'm upping this a star. I had a 5 star visit tonight so I'll split the difference. Had very good service at the bar (and from the hostess). Food was very good to great. What did I have? Lemme tell you: * Negroni to drink. Well-made cocktail. * I had a subtle / understated Caesar salad (with bomb croutons) that had super crispy fresh romaine. * A wood-fired pie with pepperoni, bell pepper and jalapeno (my go-to-combo). The bell peppers are red instead of the standard green which I imagine for most folks is a bonus (since they are so mild and sweet) but I miss my vegetal green. Creature of habit. * A glass of barbera wine that was delicious for a moderate price. Looking forward to another visit. Great stuff tonight. And the space is truly special. Very neat. read more

New favorite bar in Madison by far! Used to be the Isthmus and minus the office walls, the layout is the same. Only much more stripped down and with a bar on the main floor. Though, I'm not entirely convinced that the Isthmus didn't have a secret bar somewhere... We started from the bottom and worked out way up, there's just something about drinking beers in a refurbished bank vault that excites! It's an upscale place too, everyone was dressed up and not many guys wearing hats. A very nice change of pace from what you'd find on State Street! Main level was of course the most packed, the balcony area I think is the unsung hero of this new location. They stripped back the walls to the original structure and on one portion the original painted on sign for "The Capital City" was present. Music was also great, not too loud, still could hear your friends across the table from you. Can't wait to come back, this is definitely a new favorite! read more

I intended to try this for dinner, and the host recommended to sit at the bar--that someone would be there to help me. So I sat and waited and watched the bartender hand a menu to other customers (there were only about 7 of us at the bar), get himself a drink of water, and loop the bar area several times. I'm not sure if he was intentionally ignoring me or not paying attention, but it was incredibly awkward. Finally he brought a menu over but by then I decided I'd rather eat somewhere else. Perhaps it was just an off-day and usually it's good, but I found the service awkward and underwhelming, which is a bummer because the ambiance is beautiful. read more

Lucille - The ambiance is beautiful! - Pizza Near Me - Madison, Wisconsin

My mom and I went here for dinner on a Saturday night, and were so pleased with Lucille! We showed up around 6pm (I think), and we were pretty lucky (and surprised!) that they had a table for two open as the place was packed! The atmosphere inside of Lucille is so neat -- it's such a cute/trendy space with lots of history behind the building itself as well. We sat upstairs, in the long row of two/four person tables where one side is a cushioned bench along the wall and the other side is chairs. I felt a bit close to the other pairs of people dining next to us, but it wasn't the worst -- maybe a little more space between tables would be nice. We each got our free moscow mule kegged cocktail with our Yelp check-in, which was a nice perk! All of the menu items sounded so intriguing and delicious, but we settled on splitting a medium salad along with the smaller size of their wood-fired crust pizza. We chose the Italian Pantry Salad (field greens, carrots, baby mozzarella, piquillo pepper, artichoke hearts, Castlevetrano olives, fresh basil, white wine-basil dressing) and WOW this salad was AMAZING! I loved it. Like really, really, loved it. So stinkin' good!!!! And guess what... it got even better when our pizza arrived! We went for the Umami Pie and it was out of this world. YUM. I've never had such a sophisticated pizza before (black garlic creme fraiche, manchego, grilled chicken, roasted mushrooms, spinach, caramelized onion, fresh rosemary, scallion) and I absolutely loved it. The flavors worked so well together, and I loved the crust thickness -- not super duper thin but not that doughy and thick either, it was just right. We had a few pieces of pizza to take home for leftovers. I reheated them in my oven the next day and they tasted just as great as the night before. All in all, I would love to eat this dinner over and over again because it was SO great. I'm going to have a hard time not ordering the same thing next time I visit Lucille! Thank you Lucille for opening me to a world of sophisticated pizzas (and one of the best salads I've ever had) that I never knew existed :) read more

Amazing ambience of the place. The lower level is nice and open. The upper one is pretty good too. The restaurant was crazy busy even on a weekday. Our server was really busy too. We tried the steel nachos and they were ok. They dont come with beans and were kinda soggy and not as appealing as some of the pics suggest. Our pizza was good and hot but took a long time coming. You can build your own pizza as you like and gets baked in their wood fired oven. Overall not a bad experience. read more

Horrible service. The food was cold and had no flavor. I do not recommend this restaurant!

We had the BEST lunch today at Lucille. Hats off to the staff, supper friendly people who are doing a great job to keep everything clean and safe during the pandemic reopening. Special shout out to the bartender Roger who whipped me up two delicious pregnancy-safe mocktails despite not being on the menu. The food was all delicious - we recommend the Dulce y Picante pizza and the beef empanada! Will definitely return on our next visit to Madison. read more

It's really good pizza, kinda expensive, and rarely served hot. Drinks are $$$. If you're in the area, it's worth checking out, but if you want good-to-better quality pizza at a more affordable price, would rather make the drive to Pizza Brutta. read more

I ordered through the app. It was poorly packaged. The sauce cup had opened sometime in the delivery and poured into the cardboard box. It was definitely not worth the price. read more

I did not put up any Christmas decorations this year at my house, but you know who did, my gal Lucille. Boy did she go all out. Every inch of the place is covered in pine fronds, lights, Santa hats, or some other ridiculous holiday decor. The festiveness alone is worth the trip. My group ordered a few pizzas and drinks and enjoyed a lazy afternoon of gluttony. What I tried: Sausage and Raab- Nice flavor pairing. Familiar, but with a unique twist. Umami Pie- Why do I always forget that I hate kale? This pie is great, just remember to remove the worst leafy green of all time- kale. Better yet... World, come to your senses! Lets kill this kale trend and put it where it belongs, in the compost heap of history. Horchata- I kind of hated this cocktail. It was more on the egg nog side of the flavor scale and had a earthy woodiness that I did not like. Moscow Mule- This is a classic and one of my favorite flavor combos. Who can resist ginger and lime? Protip: Check in on Yelp! They have one of the best check-in specials in town. It's a free drink! Don't miss out! Download the Yelp app immediately and let the check-in specials come rolling in. Treat them like Pokemon, gotta catch em' all. read more

Faaantastic cocktails! Just fantastic, and the downstairs vault/bar is really really neat :) The pizza? Honestly, not the world's biggest fan. So it's pizza. You'll have fun eating it, no doubt. It's just not as good as I hope pizza to be. They do a funky, bake-cheddar-cheese-on-the-outside crust which I am just not crazy for. Again, do I turn down a slice? No! But then, I never order it for delivery and usually only come when colleagues want to. So, that tells you what you need to know. read more
