Jeff organized the transfers and tours. At the end of the trip we had a last minute request to change the itinerary to visit a Rose Plantation (Ecuador is a major exporter of roses. Who knew! Charming, lovely, ideally located, and welcoming…read more Sort of a cross between a B&B and a hotel, the Inn has lovely and reasonably priced and appointed rooms, a continental breakfast, and an ideal location for anyone visiting idyllic Davidson or idyllic Davidson College. Wines by the glass and by the bottle available in the lobby, which made for a great place to mingle with other guests. Most importantly, the team there were absolutely wonderful. Joy, who is lauded in other reviews, made a point to learn all the guests' names and was a friendly, accommodating, and fabulous resource. Her warmth was, to us, representative what we experienced throughout the town and the College...and is a reason to come back repeatedly. Only beef is a little bit of room to room noise and squeaky floors and the lack of a fitness facility. For the latter, they offer discounted passes to the local Y, and great suggestions in where to walk or run. I almost hesitate to recommend it ...because we don't want it to be sold out in our next visit. Can't be that selfish though. Great spot (and the only real inn or hotel that is right in town).
