Lobster Romano
Vincent T.

I swear, it gets better every time I go. The appetizer mafalda is the one of my all-time favorite dishes, I dream about this pasta dish. The Lobster Romano is simply of the best meals I've ever had, it melts in your mouth, absurd amount of deliciousness. I also had the veal done like their hot chicken Parmesan, sweet and spicy, I liked it a lot. Didn't take as many pictures as my last visit over the summer, but I do really look forward to returning to this gem.

We ate here yesterday for my friends birthday. It was a limited menu because it was Valentine's Day weekend. This is a very small place with about 10 tables. There is also a bar with limited seating. I would definitely make a reservation, in fact, it may be required. That being said, we had a reservation for 730pm and didn't get seated until around 820. It is family owned and run from what I understand so it has a very friendly atmosphere and the wait can be understood. The decor is quite a bit dated but everything was very clean. Street parking with meters but it seems like no one was feeding the meters. Our server was very nice. While there was a bit of a wait for our menus when we were seated and before our orders were taken, the food came out pretty quickly after that. I highly recommend the marinated peppers which are served with havarti cheese. I want more of this now! Entrees come with a salad which was good with then house dressing but a little lacking as mine consisted only of lettuce and a tomato. The option of crumbled blue cheese was available. For my meal I had the Black Sea bass topped with crumbled lobster. This was cooked to perfection with lemon and for this reason, was light and delicious. I opted not to have capers. My husband had the veal and wine which he said was very tender. Everyone raves over the cheese garlic bread but I personally was underwhelmed as I tasted no garlic but lots of butter. Don't get me wrong, I like butter, but I also like garlic! The prices for the entrees are around $35-$68 (this is the highest and lowest of what I saw). My husband and I both ate for $110 which included our entrees and app and 2 glasses of wine. I did thoroughly enjoy my meal and would like to come back when the full menu is available. Very satisfied!

Veal N Wine

Went here last night for the first time in about 9 years. It was perfect then and it's still perfect now. The Veal N Wine is the best veal I've had anywhere. My father had the Veal Parmesan and it was the best he could ever recall having. Highly suggest you start with the peppers and cheese appetizer. Understand they are now open only on Thursday - Saturday nights. Think this is because Les ( owner/chef ) is now in his 80's and slowing a little. Get there while you can; it was and still is my favorite restaurant in SW PA.

Lobster romano topped with crab in a butter and garlic cream sauce

I used to work at Luccehesi's in high school washing dishes but never really sampled the food outside of the mafalda, why eat anything else =) This place is the best! Everything is made to order by Less or Edmond (Les's Son). Def try the mafalda or crab hozel as an app. The first time two times I was here for dinner I had the Lobster Romano (pictured) and it was out of this world AMAZING! I didn't want to keep ordering the same thing so the 3rd time I had the Veal and Wine and it was to die for. One thing I can say about this place is you don't go away hungry and you get your monies worth. You won't meet better people than Les and Pauline. Les will be sure to sit at the table and tell jokes as he sips coffee or water. Pauline always has a smile from ear to ear. The wait staff is great and very knowledgeable. I'm sure I will be back again, hell I was just there Friday and I am ready to go back again! I can't say enough good things about Lucchesi's. Make sure you put it on your list for upscale dining. Be sure to make reservations, they only sit so many people per evening.

Unfortunately, this is the first time I have felt compelled to leave a negative review on a place…read more My boyfriend and I had high hopes for our Valentine's dinner at Small Town Tavern. We had never been, but our expectations fell drastically short. I ordered the endless crab legs and my boyfriend had the prime rib, both premium-priced entrees for the holiday, along with specialty drinks. The Valentine's promotion never mentioned that sharing wasn't allowed, and our waitress, although very kind, never stated it either. The issue arose when the manager came over and offered "refills" without clarifying she meant crab legs. Since both of our drinks were empty, we assumed she meant beverages. Instead of clarifying, she just gave us a look that made us feel as if we were stupid, which made the interaction uncomfortable. When we realized she was talking about crab legs, she asked if we both had ordered them. I said, "No, just me" but I also mentioned that my boyfriend had eaten a crab leg or two. In the moment, I didn't realize he hadn't actually even eaten any--he was just helping me crack them open. That's when she abruptly told us we weren't supposed to be sharing. If there is a strict no-sharing policy, it should be clearly communicated in the promotion or at the table beforehand. Being corrected mid-meal, especially in a dismissive tone, took away from what was supposed to be a special Valentine's experience. Clearer communication and a more welcoming approach would go a long way.

The shrimp in a basket was rock solid hard and tasteless (right out of a Costco bag of frozen shrimp) and the chicken was again...hard on the outside and dry on the inside. Ordered a glass of wine ..asked for it 3 times and it finally arrived mid meal. Good luck to them. No where to.g but up.

I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!!! It was so comfortable and delicious. They have…read moreperfect Italian ambiance ( I loved it). Zana, (as in Dana), out server, was fantastic. We started our evening with Manhattans and the very sweet, tart, expensive cherry really topped them off. The dipping oil for the bread loaf was really good, with just the right amount of balsamic vinegar, mmmm. My husband and I shared a Caesar salad. Plenty of shaved Parmesan cheese, anchovies added to the Caesar taste. Portion was nice, but the lettuce was a bit dry. We could have asked for more dressing . Anyway, let me get to my Red Wine Braised Pork Ragu over gnocchi. I will be headed back just for this. I was in a big hurry to eat, and didn't take a picture. There was enough for three servings, covered with red , delicious sauce that was filled with the most tender pork, and covered with sprinkled Parmesan cheese. All this over gnocchi. Oh my goodness!!!!!!! Our table had two orders of Cacio E Pepe, creamy Romano cheese and black pepper sauce, similar to American alfredo, tossed with fettuccine noodles. My husband added blackened chicken. He felt the chicken was very good, but according to his definition of Cacio e Pepe, his dinner was just a little too creamy, although delicious. While leaving, my husband mentioned to the bar tender, a young lady, how good our drinks were. Her face lit up and you could tell she takes pride in her work. Thank you for a very nice evening.

We were looking for a place to celebrate our 25th anniversary, friends recommended this place. 1st…read moreoff when we made our reservations, we noted that we were celebrating a special occasion. I am assuming this was never reviewed after the reservation was made. When we arrived, a high table was offered, but we decided to wait for another table. We were very disappointed in the seat we were given, A very small round table in a corner with 2 leather style chairs, cigar bar type seats. My husband and I were very uncomfortable and didn't speak up because they were busy. After we were seated our waitress took our drink order and brought out our bread with no plates or silverware, we had to ask for them. At least we can say the food was very good, but not good enough for a return. I want to be comfortable when I got to a restaurant and especially where I am celebrating something special. The place needs to remove this table and replace it with a regular table and pay more attention when people make notes when making a reservation. Because I this I just cannot give it more that 3 stars.
