This company is very dangerous to depend on when you have your property or belongings in their possession. They screwed me up so bad that I had to make 2trips to Lubbock and spent lots of money, time to resolve what they have done. The irony part was that they didn't even care about what they did and how it affected ppl. I had my belongings here after an incident and was out of state, sent several trucks to get my property out, they refused, asked if I can make payments online or cashier check to them next day, they absolutely refused. You can only make payments in person, who does that. When I finally came to them , made all the payments and could not find a driver within 24hrs to pick up my belongings; they took it back and called my bank to come get it without any notice, mind you that I had already sent someone to get it finally the 4th day. Behold they released it to my bank and my driver was calling me after making 6hrs to Lubbock with nothing to take. The lady that claim to be the manager blamed me for not taking my belongings, even when I called them that someone will be picking it up that day. OOOmygoodness. These ppl do not give a fking clue what I had to go through to get my car from Lubbock to DFW.. They lied and inconsistent with their own rules and do not care how the laws work. This business need to be reported to BBB on how they handle things and should be investigated for what and how they rip ppl off without any accountability combined with lack of customer care, very disgusting and unacceptable to the public. When I was told that my belongings was in their possession, I went and look up their reviews and was terrified before my experience. This place should not be in existence for public safety because they are in capability to render what customers deserve, they should be able to have an online services if it's actually for a public services. We are in the millennium phase that things should be updated to suit everyone if it's considered a business and shut down if they cannot render those services. It's not worth any amount of money to be honest with, when ppl will get treated like nothing. It's absolutely unacceptable for you to run your business and believe it's okay; no, it's not acceptable. Lubbock Wrecker Service impounded my car when I went to jail, and I didn't give anyone the right to get it out, my Mom goes up there with my title and no Notorized Power Of Attorney document sign by me to let her take it out of the impound and they still let her get my car out the impound and illegally she sold it, so I had to report it stolen and possibly a lawsuit on Lubbock Wrecker Service thanks alot for all this mess! read more

The day crew was very nice very understanding about questions. However, the night crew worker that we talked to was very rude. I tried to go pick up my car after work because the hours online said 24 hours and when we got there and tried to open the door, it was locked and the people inside started laughing at us said they were closed so we called up there to see, what the hours were to pick up your car, and the lady that answered the phone was so incredibly rude throughout the entire conversation.. Also beware because they will charge you a day no matter how long you were there. It's an automatic fee when they tow your car even if your car isn't in there for a full day. read more

I hope nobody ever has to deal with this place. I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. I am a full time college student and work full time as well. While also being fully responsible for providing for myself. They took advantage of me because I am young and charged me an outrageous price, as well as additional fees that they can't even explain. Also if your car is getting towed here KEEP IN MIND they do not go by "24 hours" for their "daily impound rate." For example, my car arrived at their lot at 10:22pm last night, when I went to pick it up at 2pm today they charged me for 2 days when my car wasn't even there for a full 24 hours. They blame a lot of things on having a contract with LPD, do not believe them! They lie. For example, Tessa (front desk) first told me, my $105 charge from "LPD Working Time 15 minute increment" was because the tower had trouble getting my car on. THEN, the second time I went in there she said it was for LPD to clean up the mess. First off, I was the one who grabbed my belt out of the road. Second off, they did no cleaning up. I have contacted LPD and City of Lubbock to fix this issue, mainly because it was a minor accident. Neither the driver I tapped into nor myself called the police to come in the first place, we had everything already handled. A cop just happened to drive by. So as you can see I am upset I am paying $105 for something that wasn't needed. I reached out to the officer at the incident he said he has video cam that nothing was ever cleaned up from the accident, and he does not understand why this charge was added. ALSO don't EVER speak to Tessa at the front desk, she has horrible customer service, takes nothing seriously, and will sit there and laugh at you while whispering to the other ladies behind the desk. Not someone I would want to sit at the front desk dealing with customers, puts an even worse look on the company. The second time I went in there a girl with dark hair had her vape just sitting right on the desk for everyone to see. Very unprofessional place. I'm disappointed that Lubbock Police Department has a contract with this company. Lubbock wrecker takes advantage of people, and is NO HELP at all they just blame stuff on LPD because of their contract. I hope LPD notices this issue & does NOT renew their contract with this company. People who answer phone and work in the front are very rude and not helpful! Do not recommend.

If I could rate zero stars I would. Poor quality service especially with people who are in a bad situation. The manager who works the office offered no help and us it was our problem not hers.. If you are involved in a wreck make sure to empty your vehicle out before it is picked up by the wrecker. Once at the yard you only have 10 minutes to get your things out of the vehicle if you don't. They pull your battery out so you will have to crawl over the seats to open the rear doors. Hopefully you are not injured from the wreck like my fiancee was and having to do all this in 10 minutes while in pain with a lady yelling at you about the time limit. They take a copy of your license yet can't use it to verify who you are. They keep all your info on file yet they send mail to the wrong address.  Even though neither the vehicle or license has that address on it. We live over an hour away and made a special trip just to make sure we had everything out of the car since she wasn't able to properly clean it out the first time. We were not able to get in to the car since she forgot her license every though it's on file. Not sure what's the point of taking all the info down. Honestly seems like they want to do everything to keep you out of your own property. Avoid this place at all costs. They are getting their money and that's all they care about. read more

My car was towed there due to a wreck. I hate that they have a scam & wont let you call your own roadside to tow. They lost my keys @ blame the police. We paid for the fees yesterday but car was not picked up. (Our choice) I tell this horrid woman that my car was not picked up but she kept insisting it was gone. Telling me the owner came by & I am like no I am the owner. REFUSED to listen & hear what I was explaining . She was ugly & rude . If I could put zero stars I would. I had to get my car towed for a wreck, their driver lost my keys. He denied me ever giving them to me so they refused to pay for a key. I asked them for a receipt for the transaction and they told me they couldn't give it to me. When I talked to upper management about replacing my key he said, "that driver loses things all the time, he has no reason not to admit to this one." I don't know what kind of business would not only refuse to give a customer a receipt "because they no longer have it" days later, but refuse to own up to an honest mistake. They tow cars off w/o the owner's permission, which in my book makes them car thieves. You can tell they know they're in the wrong because of the precautions they take to protect themselves from you when you come get the car they stole from you. Heavy glass and a speaker system separate you from the slimeball who's there to take the cash from you in exchange for your stolen car. You know what's really funny? They seem truly surprised when you don't kiss their asses when you come pay them to get the car they stole from you in the first place. They take cash or credit cards in exchange for the car they stole from you. I wouldn't trust these guys with my credit card number even if I needed to buy a kidney from them. . What was also interesting is the way they treat you after you pay the extortion money. This little clown shows up in a golf cart and offers to give you a ride to your stolen vehicle. They try to act like this is an element of customer service: in reality, they just want to keep an eye on you to make sure you don't vandalize anything on the way to your car, on the off chance you might be angry you just had to pay to get YOUR own car, you know...the one that they stole from you? How do I know this is just to keep an eye on you? Because I told the guy to shove it up his ass, and yet, he followed me the whole way back to MY vehicle. Yes, the very one they stole from me. I tried to rate this place less than 1 star but didn't give me that option. They specialize in ripping people off. They towed a truck against my will and charged 2000.00 to go 11 miles and store it for less than 24 hrs.They also have a contract with the city that says they are to be the only wrecker service used by the city for which they pay the the city like 500,000 a year to keep. There rates are no where near fair. Here is a list of just a few of there "more than fair rates". 300.00 after hrs fee 200.00 heavy duty truck fee 450.00 hook up fee 450.00 per hour fee (the driver was there 30 min and we were charged 900.00) 45.00 for fuel to drive 11 miles (that's 4.09 a mile when diesel is less than 3.00 a gallon. The worst trucks get 4 - 5 miles per gallon) 20.00 impound fee 30.00 storage fee After one day you get a letter that's a 50.00 fee and then 35.00 plus tax a day. Total Bill for an 11 mile tow and less than 24 hrs in storage 1992.43 read more

This place is the most crooked place I have ever seen in my life. My motorcycles were stolen and located 1/4 mile from my house. Instead of calling me to come get the bikes the police called Lubbock wrecker service. Never was contacted by the police even. Finally figure out where they were and Lubbock wrecker tells me it is $715 PER BIKE to get released... TO GET MY STOLEN PROPERTY BACK!! They had them a little over a not months too. LUBBOCK WRECKING IS NOT VET SUPPORTIVE! On 5/22 I explained to the manager that my brother is a struggling disabled combat veteran and asked if they could help on his current $720 bill. She curtly told me "our fees are regulated by the state" followed by silence. I checked and found that they can legally charge between $5 and $20 daily storage. They charged him the max allowed by law when they COULD have helped but chose not to. The bill totaled $741.60 including a $50 "notification fee". On 5/23 I asked to speak to the owner about this and over a week later have not heard back. This occurred the week before Memorial Day when we honor our vets sacrifices. read more

It took more effort for the young man who enjoyed his little smirk and smart ass grin to do that that then to ask how may I help you? I've been in the customer service industry for 40+ years. If he was one of my employees he would be gone yesterday. Perhaps if your staff introduced themselves and said how can I help you, can I explain the process/options....rather than tell us what they can't do right off the bat....it would have been a different outcome. Your staff didn't even say who they were. While I realize your rates are state approved.....does it really cost $50 to send it? O don't think so. Why send two of them. Why not change your processes so that when the police call you ask them if they notified the family so the family had been provided the option to pick up the vehicle. In this case and I'm sure many others, the family doesn't get noticed and then they get screwed. In good faith I can't recommend your services to anyone and hope to take further action against this contracted racket of extortion between the city and your company. If there was a choice for negative 5 stars, that would be my rating for this "company." You all are the only impounding service for Lubbock Police and charge $20 a day for storage- $80 for Friday 7:30 pm - 2:30 pm Monday, so you don't even count 24 hours as a day- you go by partial day- and call a dirt car-crammed lot "secure" storage. Should be covered pavedparking for that price. - And $170 for a 10 mile round trip for a tow of my son's stolen vehicle recovered by police this past Friday? That feels as bad as the robbery! Plus a $50 charge for a letter from the "state" notifying us you have the vehicle. Just got certified letter today so I guess at least that was an attempt to let us know. A phone call is a lot less expensive, but again, at least certified mail is a good way to let people know you have their car, even if it takes a week. Thank goodness we could bail his vehicle out of jail for being stolen. It was a brand-new vehicle he worked super hard to pay for as a young man and I'm just thankful you all were not able to prove-gouge us further and/or cause him to lose his vehicle to you and still owe on his entire loan. read more

So very disappointed with the service received from Lubbock Wrecker. If you have a choice in wrecker service provider I would definitely recommend someone other than Lubbock Wrecker. The driver was extremely unprofessional and rude. Their main objective is to get connected to your car and take off without a word. I actually asked them to take my vehicle to another location (not their yard), they said I had to pay cash right then, gave me a price and before I could get back with the money they took off with my car. It was an awful experience tacted on to an already scary situation. I hate that anyone has to deal with this kind of service especially when they have to pay for it. Incredibly rude and unconcerned. I never got past the hateful receptionist, but after reading these other reviews, I think I may have lucked out. Their statement that they are the only wrecker service that operates in Lubbock rain or shine is untrue. Thompson's towing came by while answering requests for service around 10:30 on rainy night. The driver saw we were stranded, and even though he had another call, took the time to talk to us and determine that the tow would be quick. He said he would not want to see his elderly parents stranded in the water in the middle of the street on a rainy night, and took the time to tow us to safety. A request that Lubbock Wrecker sneered and insulted us for, without taking any time to determine the particulars. Thompson's was efficient, polite, and resourceful. My family and I are traveling to lousianna from new Mexico and got stranded out of Post but I could not give a location because I didn't know where I was. There were no signs, landmarks or anything. I gave a wrong location but the driver and dispatcher never gave up on us. It was feeding cold and nobody would stop to help. The driver was so super nice and professional. He drove us in to an auto zone and made sure we were okay. I'm so happy we had this experience with this company. Thank God for them and their wonderful service or we would have been frozen out there still today. Highly recommend this company!! read more

If you have a choice to not use Lubbock Wrecker, do not choose them!! They take advantage of people already in unfortunate situations. My sons truck was taken in at 7 in the morning, I've never been in an accident, neither has my son, so I had no idea how this works. I called after 5, not knowing they were even open on Sundays, they told me that because the truck was going to be there more than 24 hours since I wouldn't be able to pick up til the following business day at 8 am, that I would have to pay an extra $20 and an extra $50 for some letter from the state, that they supposedly have no control over. My receipt shows 2 days in storage when it was only in storage 25 hours. Their 24 hour policy should only apply if the vehicle is available to pick up at any time of day or night. But they take advantage of the fact that they are closed and the clock is still running. They were not helpful at all and do not care about their customers. All the fees they charge probably go towards their fancy updated building to hold all the corruptness that goes on there. read more

While on a road trip we hit a deer and had to be towed 1 1/2 hours to Lubbock. Harvey came out with the big flat bed and picked my two kids and I up and made what could have been a long and awful ride quite pleasant. He dropped us off at a hotel and was patient while I got my things out of my van and took the time to explain to me what my options were, etc. Friendly and professional. Terrible service and the receptionists were insanely rude. They ended up charging me 280$ to tow my car 10 miles away and for less than 10 minutes. On top of that, the receptionist knew exactly where my car had been STOLEN from me and told me to walk it or tough luck. I don't know what they're business plan is but it seems to be somewhere along the lines of "lubbock wrecker service: where we don't care if you're guy or girl we'll screw you anyway". I am very unhappy with the service I received from Lubbock wrecker service. I was driving from Texas to Colorado on July 27, 2013 and in Lubbock A truck carrying farm equipment dropped a blade from the truck. This blade struck my radiator and I was disabled on the highway. Once my car was towed I had to get to Colorado. From Colorado I called the wrecker service many times to inquire how to get my car and for information for the release of my car but on every call no one seemed to know anything about my car nor the process for the pick up of my car. Every time I called I was given a different quote.. After several days 14 to be exact I drove over 10 hours to the Lubbock wrecker service . I encountered the same treatment no one was sure what paperwork was needed. The forms on their website are hard to read, I even had them notarized but this was not good enough for the lady at the office she made me send a form to my husband in San Antonio Texas and have it e mailed, then their office staff changed and now they had to be faxed at 7 pm on a Saturday night.. So now another lady says no what the prior lady had said for you to do is not what I want you to do. Now we have been in the office for 3 hours and it is late and I just want to get my car. I have never been treated so badly and over charged in my life. Bottom line I will never use this wrecker service again. The bill was very close to $1,000.00 . If they would of been honest with me from the very start I would of been able to get my with a few days. This seems like blue collar robbery to me and my pocket book is the proof. Horrible service and passing the buck for 14 days only made for a better payout for Lubbock wrecking service. In the end I am so sorry I ever drove through the Lubbock area. I would highly recommend NOT using this company. I knew from past experiences from both myself and others that the employees are highly rude and unhelpful. However, I never really considered them dangerous until today. The weather has been pretty bad recently with a lot of snow and ice causing multiple wrecks all over town. Driving my truck on the Marsha Sharp near the Quaker exit where construction brings the lanes down to one is where the tow truck driver almost ran me off the road. I was in the only open lane and he was behind me at first tailgating very closely. Then, he gets in the exit lane next to me as if hes getting off on Quaker but then speeds up and gets BACK in the lane we were previously in in front of me effectively cutting me off and almost ramming my truck in the process. He was already in the lane he needed. Why switch lanes especially if the weather is bad and the roads patched with ice? I called up Lubbock Wrecker to complain and they blew me off saying he was just probably in a hurry to a wreck or something. Seriously, they weren't even bothered by it in the least and took my complaint as nothing. Neither my life nor your lives are of any consequence to this business if they don't take seriously the dangerous behavior of their truck drivers.
