Buyer beware. I found this place on Craiglist and they were offering what seemed to be a fairly decent deal on a 2009 BMW 328i, asking approximately $6995 for a car with 113k miles on it. Not a screaming deal, but fair. Upon closer inspection, the vehicle had been in an accident in the rear (was on the Carfax). When asked if there were any other accidents, I was told no. As I began to look closer at the vehicle, the headlights looked brand new and the front clip was misaligned (large gap on the passenger side and no gap on the driver) and had recently been painted (poorly). When I probed about this, I was then told it was just a minor bump (I guess Arman forgot when I asked the first time).
Red flags start going up, so I ask for a 3rd party inspection, which Arman initially agrees to. I set up the appointment and hand over my paperwork, and as I'm getting ready to take the vehicle, Arman comes back after checking in with his brother and they say that I cannot take the vehicle. I told them I wouldn't purchase it without the inspection and leave. After some back and forth via text, they finally they agree to take the vehicle to the shop for me (Foreign Autohaus in El Dorado Hills - these guys are great BTW).
So glad I took this car in. It had SO MANY issues, including oil pan leakage, belt tensioner problems, transmission work and several other faults in the OBD. The biggest concern was the transmission that had been pulled apart and silicone was used to either in place of the transmission pan gasket or to help seal the gasket, but either way, there shouldn't have been any silicone near that tranny.
Arman asked how the inspection went and I asked what had been done to the transmission. He says nothing (another lie). When I confront them with the silicone, Arman's brother says, "yeah, it's used to put the gasket in place." When I ask who did the service, he says "I did, and it's not like it's my first time." So all of a sudden they do remember doing the transmission service. Convenient that they forgot about it when they are the ones that did the work.
All in all, this place just left a really bad taste in my mouth. Arman and his brother had several opportunities to just be honest about the car, but after catching them in several lies, it just wasn't worth it to me to take a chance with LT Motors. Do your homework when buying from these guys. I wouldn't trust them at all.
As an update, they have since raised the price on the same BMW! Amazing. read more
