So damn delicious. We had a group of 8 so opted for the chefs menu $65 a head. This was the best choice as we pretty much got to try the best of everything. Recommend going in a group!

15 hour smoked beef rib and Porchetta

Came here on a whim with some friends and damn it was a good idea. LP's has a smoker from Tennessee, so their smoked meat came with high expectations, and bah gawd did they deliver. For a BBQ joint, this place is probably the most classy/upscale as the service was great, they seat you and lay your towel in your lap and offer you sparkling water. They offer two different set menu's at $65 and $85 but eff that, we ordered a-la-carte. We ordered the corn, mashed potatoes, 15 hour smoked beef rib and the porchetta. Bah gawd it tasted like heaven...the corn was unexpectedly outstanding, and the mashed potatoes was creamy creamy creamy. The meat's come with sides of mustard, chimichurri and chilli, and I'll say this...you must pair the porchetta with the chimichurri. The beef rib went well with everything as well. The only downside was there was supposed to be a free raffle for a free meat plate but they never did the raffle...liars!

    Bloody Mary with jerky

I've had three meals at LP's and all have been delicious, the veggie dishes as well-prepared as the namesake meats. The beef short rib was more than two of us could manage! But it was so good that we had to come back to try more, and so we got some friends together to take advantage of their chef's menu. At $65 it's not cheap, but for the quality and sheer volume of food it's actually excellent value for money. If you're a Bloody Mary fan, don't miss LP's take on the classic. It used to be served with beef jerky on top, though I was sad to find this no longer the case on last visit. Staff are lovely, decor is nice, it's a bit noisy but well worth it. They also have a meat platter raffle on Friday nights. Highly recommended.

    The entrance to LPs

I can't say I'm a fan of that strong bushfire taste evident in every mouthful of the beef rib ($44) tonight at LPs. It was so overdone that by the end of a few mouthfuls my lungs felt like I'd smoked a few Winnie Blues ('cigarettes' to those not from the 80's). The lamb belly stuffed with merguez sausage was overpowered by the paprika from the stuffing and was dry as well. It's a confusing place, LPs Quality Meats in Chippendale. They sit you on a low stool in a long German beer hall and then charge fine dining prices (including $2 for a single dinner roll) for lung busting smoked meats. No subtlety but plenty of hipster. My highlight, sadly for the poor animals that died in the making of this film, was the smoked porter beer ($8, from Marrickville's The Grifter Brewery).

Always amazing, food served quickly and the staff are attentive. Go the pork belly and the beef short rib.

The corn on the cobb maybe a little over, also very buttery, and butter does equal flavour.

In fact more than that, there were some great other bars in this establishment, as well as a gallery. Oh, and the paintings on the walls outside were pretty awesome. This was one great pub.

You can get a burger with fries ranging from cheeseburger, vegan burger, to fried chicken burger and a few others. The fit out is pretty cool, large outdoor area and chill vibe and staff. Food came out rather quick, I thought $10 was a great deal so I ordered a fried chicken burger and Bushwick burger. Bushwick burger is beef, cheese, onion, pickle, lettuce, tomato sauce, on an nyc style. Hold up, what's an NYC style bun? I've spent a lot of time in New York City and have never heard of such a thing...NYC style pizza sure. NYC style bun? This is some faux BS trying to win customers in an attempt to seem more authentic methinks... Anyway, the fried chicken burger was great, definitely up there with the best in Sydney, comparable to Mary's, Pub Life (prior to the new one,) and Pinbone. The Bushwick burger on the other hand was OK. It seriously just tasted like a Whopper from Hungry Jack's. Not a bad thing...but nothing special either, because if I wanted an imitation of something I would have just gone to the original. Will have to come back to try the cheeseburger. Chicken is 4.5/5 Bushwick is 3/5

It was my last meal before I left Sydney, and it will be the first meal I'll have when I return. It's amazing. Price is great. Service is prompt. I will miss the chicken immensely. Thanks!

The burger had a small piece of tomato that was still whole after 2/3 of burger eaten. A burger should give a complete taste each bite. The meat was bland in flavour, couldn't tell if that was the meat quality or lack of seasoning. Maybe both. The chicken was moist and had some nice herbs in the coating but for $6.50 one piece is a rip off. That works out to be $45 for a whole chook! WTF! The shake certainly tastes like New York Cheesecake but after a few slurps the flavour is too much. I suggest the owners try a Malt or Milo shake from Ribs N Burgers to get the can't-stop-drinking-shake idea. The cheese on the fries is all wrong. Southern comfort food would never have pungent Spanish sheep cheese like a Manchego. Everything was edible but it all just needs tweaking. In Sydney we have too many great burger joints for pedestrian offerings. Give us something drool worthy and photo worthy!
