Which we ordered two of because I was craving chunky lamb skewered pieces with some salad. They only have 2 types of salad to choose from to put on your shish roll. Either a tomato and onion based one. Or an onion and onion based one. I really only wanted some tabouli on it, but it wasn't an option. This caused sad face to appear. They also have ayran (which is a turkish yoghurty sorta drink) that perked me up a bit. But not enough to give them 4 stars.

So while you'll surly find your Salad Niçoise, crêpes and baguettes, you'll also sit down to one of Sydney's best breakfasts and killer coffees. With about 6 types of salads, an array of sandwiches, quiches, lasagna, and many delectable sweets, I was lapped by about 3 customers before I was able to make my decision. Had it been proper lunchtime, I would have gone for a serve of the quail breast pasta salad with basil and cherry tomatoes. Instead, I opted for a slice of the blueberry banana bread. One other endearing quality of this small cafe is its sunny outdoor tables fitted with comfy, cushioned chairs. I pulled up a seat and soaked in the early summer sun before my bread was brought out. And man, was it delicious!! Ever so light, toasty, crumbly and the perfect combination of tart and sweet- I found myself shamelessly collecting crumbs after my slice was long gone.

The shop is outfitted with tall stools and benches, scrubbed back country tables and outdoor cushioned chairs propped beneath striped awnings and an incredibly sweet picture of a pig on the cafe's swinging wooden sign. The rest of their charm and appeal sits inside their stretching display cabinet filled with tempting European fare, including fresh and dry pastas, salads, pots of herbs, stuffed mushrooms, pies, cakes and sweet and savoury tarts. Their vegetarian 'sausage' rolls with pumpkin are both large and delicious, so much cooler than your average oily cheese and spinach rolls. They also sell jars of Hank's Jam and Nutsu gluten free cookies plus a fridge full of cold drinks (Bundaberg Ginger Beer = win). Come here to grab food for tonight or tomorrow mornings picnic. Like all Sichuan restaurants, Red Chilli specializes in all things tongue numbing. Last week, a group of friends and I decided we were up for the challenge, and headed down to Burwood to see if Red Chilli lived up to its favourable reviews. We ordered the lamb hotpot, cold clear noodles, lamb ribs, stir fried pork with rice cakes, and a few other dishes. Everything was pretty good, especially the lamb hotpot, which was huge and could easily feed three people. The lamb ribs, which enjoy a three-chili rating, were heavenly...or maybe that should be hell-y, because these tasty little morsels will take your tongue on a journey to the fiery depths of hell. It's great. The service is fast (and sometimes friendly), and the meals are reasonably priced. Just over $100 fed a table of five, and we had leftovers! The restaurant is quite cramped, but this is just part of the experience. So enjoy, and don't forget your tissues- your sweaty brow will thank me.

This restaurant is a place where some dishes are served in a bowl full of chillis! I mean hundreds of them! I highly recommend looking at the other tables as you squeeze through to get to your table, because it might help you decide on some great looking dishes! We usually go for what would be considered mild in this place, but is medium or hot anywhere else: Salt and pepper king prawns or squid - doooooo it! It's the best, and I recommend mixing all the little leftover chillis, shallots, and salty bits with just plain rice once you've eaten the prawns, yum! Better than any sauce! It's not a cheap dish, but we never don't get this. Kung pao chicken - our usual mild dish. It's tasty, it's got just a hint of spice. If you are not sure of your chilli eating ability, it's a good option. Hot and sour soup - we pretty much always get this. You can order 4 serves in a huge bowl with a ladle, and share it around. I often get hot and sour soup at other places that is not even hot at all - but this one has a bit of spice to it. We normally get the above 3 dishes, and then experiment with one really hot dish. It's kind of a wimpy strategy, but ensures everyone can actually eat the food! There are a fewer cons to this place, that stopped me giving it the 5 stars the food could easily earn: They put tea on the table without asking, and then charge you if you drink it. WTF?! They charge for the steamed rice - I have no problem with this if it's on the menu, but it isn't. You will probably have to wait a while at peak times. And get ready to aggressively defend your position in the queue, because I have experienced people trying to push in. They probably need a better queuing system actually. You will smell like spicy food! So it's better if everyone goes, then no one notices :) But despite these cons, we still go here when we need a spicy fix - it's an overall great place to eat, I recommend you try it!

Most cafes these days don't give anything to customer service-not these people-they have the best customer service I've experienced in Sydney. I even witnessed a member of staff go over to the bus stop to help an elderly person to the cafe. I expect he is a regular and this is a common occurrence - so cute! Not going to lie, the only problem is the fries. But everything else is soooooo good! If you don't feel like lunch then the Eggs Benny is amazing!
