The Cheeseburger for $10: Beef burger, cheese 6.8/10 - 2.7-1$ for 0.26 You might think "Jeez he's harsh, I've gotten worse food from better lookin' places and I ain't nothin' that mean t'say about them lots". Well it's your right, truly. Mine is to say that this cheesburger is the sum of its base constituants: cheese, beef, bread. Call it a cheese patty bun sandwich then. You need at least sauce or a pickle, a single pickle, but this is just not digestable on a hot day, it hasn't got the build-up to the cheese aftertaste you want from your burger, it just brutally rapes your kidneys with saturated fatty acids. It's a shame, because if you like cheese and great stuff they have much to offer. But looking at the simple cheeseburger, they are like Anakin in a village of sand people. + Cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese, cheesyyy cheese (sing that on the jingle of Two and A Half Men) - Patty is small, like smaaaaaaaaaaaall - () where is the sauce, the sauuuuuuuce? Size: Nice but too small without fries, gotta learn how to stand alone!! Bonus: 10$ cheeseburger on weekdays for lunch with fries Details: Patty 5/10 Bun 6/10 Sauce 5/10 Vegetables 5/10 Cheese 9/10 Size 6/10

I've been walking past this fun and funky small bar a few times a week since it opened almost a year ago, and I always laugh at the witticisms chalked on their sandwich board (seriously they are hilarious, they should make a coffee table book). Most men, and quite a few women if they're honest, would find it hard to resist the allure of such delights as, "Beer, Rugby, and Side Boob", and I found all of these in abundance on my first visit to The Stuffed Beaver- yes I have since made several return visits... Although it's a Canuck establishment that serves Millers Ale and Celine Diogs (puntastic menu item listed under hotdogs) the cuisine and booths are pure California diner - watch this space for when I finally get my face around some deep fried pickles (frickles). There is so much to look at and laugh at in this bar but the cherry on the cake was the male:female ratio (about 3:1, praise cheeses!). Wine snobs, don't bother. The wine selection is literally, "DAM RED" and "DAM WHITE"! and at $9 a glass I'd rather know what I'm drinking so it's beer or Stormy Jerry's for me. The staff are all hot and super-friendly, the décor is hilarious and they have a ban on Ed Hardy, Ugg boots, monobrows and pashing at the bar. I am officially hooked on Beaver!

Fun Canadian diner serving up Caesars, Poutine, Wings, Burgers, Taco's & Dogs. Great to catch a game or hang out with friends, kid friendly and amazing fish tacos!

Chili Cheese Hot Dog. Perfect bun to dog ratio IMO.

We popped in here on our way to Bondi Beach for lunch. Service was prompt and friendly and the place was practically empty so our food came quick. My husband tried the Australian beer on Special which he quite liked. I had a margarita which was solid, but a bit overpriced at $17. The food was good and classic Canadian meets bar food. Have to take off one star for the prices though. Maybe they have to charge a premium because the rent is high? But the prices were high for what it is.

I can't believe I finally discover this place, right around the corner from home, 4 weeks before I leave!

We asked about to go and were told that we had to order off the regular menu. Ok, no problem but are the wings the same as the special wings of the day. We were informed they were. We said "good we like small ones!" We paid, received our bag and left. When we arrive back at our place we opened up our boxes. No celery included. Then there were the wings. They were almost the size of baby turkey wings and totally soggy. So much for excitement of 2 orders of hot wings that didn't happen. Service was good. The place had a good number of customers seeming to be very happy. Just not happy with my order as we were told it would be. Our fault for not opening the food containers before we left. Recommend one eat at the restaurant versus take away.

The vibe here was laid back sports bar with a focus on beers, wine and simple drinks. Sadly, the beer list was short and standard (Australian macrobrews like VB, Carlton, etc.) The short food list was actually better than I expected, with a selection of apps (wings, meatballs), entrees (burgers, steak, salmon) and desserts. It was certainly enough to suit me, so I ate here for dinner and watched some local sports (continuing my increasing fascination with cricket). My burger and fries were pretty good, and just what I wanted. But after a few mediocre beers I decided to test the bar by ordering something basic. Specifically, I asked for an Old Fashioned (It's a never-ending quest). The young bartender got busy, muddling some fruit, adding sugar and bitters, before finally adding the liquor (which I couldn't see). The result tasted familiar, but strange...REALLY strange. I sipped slowly, but it never got any better. After about 15 minutes, the bartender proudly showed me the single malt scotch he made it with... [Insert Forehead Slap here]. No wonder it tasted strange - This drink is made with Rye or Bourbon only; and what a waste of a single malt! Dear management- you might want to think about training your bartenders to do something more than pour wine and beer.

Being close to where I used to work, I'd frequent this place quite a bit, and before it was a PJs it was a mates fave city pub so we'd catch up over a few here from time to time. There's a pretty good mix of people in the street-level bar, and PJs have converted it into more of a sports bar so there are plenty of screens for the sports nuts to check out their favourite teams prospects. PJs typically have pretty good fare. In winter they have two absolute cracking dishes. The Guiness Pie with mushy peas, and their signature lamb shanks which is totally unctuous. Why such a modest score? Price kills the place. It's not one of the cheaper places to get a beer as someone incorrectly states in their tips, it's easily one of the most expensive places to get a beer. You're paying over the top prices for domestic tap beer. A cheap beer is $5 for a Coopers Pale Ale, which you can get on the same street about 200m up the road... Also... As much as I enjoy a good pokie section, this one ain't good. And by that I mean the clientelle. It brings in the undesireable types, and sours what is otherwise a sweet pub. The snug, the downstairs den, has a great looking bar, and "snug" seating, but it's kinda pointless down there. It doesn't feel snug, it feels stuffy and claustrophobic - and the bar has never been manned when I've been down there. Now, if they moved the pokies to the snug, and then opened up the entire bar at the street-level to include the room vacated by the pokie section, you'd have something. But why would they do that when they can get by with what they have.

I order the Parmy, just to be on the the safe side. I wasn't too game to try the Pie which is supposed to be one of the best (as judged by Irish people I work with) around. The food is carefully prepared and you can tell the produce is quality and they've cooked it properly which some pubs sometimes struggle to do consistently... The chips were the standout side, crisp and crunchy! Definitely will be trying the stew or pie, that is if I'm brave enough to.

Food came out rather quick, I thought $10 was a great deal so I ordered a fried chicken burger and Bushwick burger. Bushwick burger is beef, cheese, onion, pickle, lettuce, tomato sauce, on an nyc style. Hold up, what's an NYC style bun? I've spent a lot of time in New York City and have never heard of such a thing...NYC style pizza sure. NYC style bun? This is some faux BS trying to win customers in an attempt to seem more authentic methinks... Anyway, the fried chicken burger was great, definitely up there with the best in Sydney, comparable to Mary's, Pub Life (prior to the new one,) and Pinbone. The Bushwick burger on the other hand was OK. It seriously just tasted like a Whopper from Hungry Jack's. Not a bad thing...but nothing special either, because if I wanted an imitation of something I would have just gone to the original. Will have to come back to try the cheeseburger.
