I have visited Home Depot many times over the past 25 years because they are the only store in town…read moreother than local hardware stores. I try to avoid Home Depot whenever I can. The store is usually a mess and there is never anyone around to help you. Occasionally, there is someone that is helpful and knowledgeable, but those times are few and far between. The last visit was to purchase a new microwave during tax free weekend. I expected the store to be busy, so I arrived early. The microwave I wanted to purchase was not in stock (Of course), so I asked to order it and have it delivered to the store. I was told by the associate that it could not be delivered to the store, and would have to be delivered to my home. I asked if there would be a delivery fee, and was told that there shouldn't be because he had just sold a new refrigerator that was going to be delivered at no charge. I placed the order, and when we got to the delivery page of the order, I was informed that there was indeed a $39.00 fee for delivery. I asked why it couldn't be delivered to the store at no charge, and was told he didn't know. It was busy, so I let it go with the intention of contacting Home Depot directly, but I wasn't happy. I contacted Home Depot through their website Chat window and the person I was chatting with told me to go back to the store and ask the store manager why there was a delivery fee. When I asked to speak with his supervisor, I was told it would be a 5-10 minute wait, and at the 11 minute mark, I was hung up on, and the chat window disappeared. When I returned home, I emailed HDCares.com and asked the same questions and found out that not only do they not care, they don't respond to emails. Pretty disappointing. I will give their delivery service a good mark because the microwave was delivered in 4 days, and they communicated well via email. My suggestion is to avoid Home Depot whenever possible. There are a couple of Lowes stores, but they're over an hour away. I have always found Lowes to be a clean, neat and well run store, at least the 3 I have visited in the past few years. The associates I have spoken to when there have been plentiful and helpful. I wish we had a Lowes that was local.

I only wish they existed in my home town in Irvine CA, I wouldn't go anywhere else. We have used Henry's for 10 years and we continued to go back even after disappointing experiences…read morebecause we felt that they were family-owned and a local business, so better to support them than the big box stores. Sadly, that has changed and we can no longer support them. I don't feel they are trustworthy. Appliance service has been very disappointing at BEST. We were sold a product with a missing part and were told multiple times that the part would be supplied, but it never was and we had to continually chase them. The missing part that was never even supplied, actually damaged the brand new appliance. We were sold an appliance that never worked properly and it was admitted to us finally that it was a manufacturer's defect, but no compensation of any sort was ever even offered. So there's two appliances that we purchased at full price, that ended up being not being as functional as they were supposed to be. Most recently, we were encouraged to spend over $750 dollars on fixing an old appliance only to have it break once and for all 2 months later. We had specifically asked if it was worth spending all that money on this unit or whether we should just buy a new one and we were Definitively recommended to do the repair. Now I have had to buy a new replacement appliance at the cost of what I spent on the repair plus $100 - a mere $1665 out of my pocket that I didn't really have to flush down the proverbial toilet. Their response to learning that the repaired appliance died? 'We (conveniently) have a sale coming up next week. Nope. No more. Hello big box store. And in discussing this recent terrible experience with friends and neighbors, come to find out that they have also had very similar experiences. Literally the Same experiences - appliances purchased that were missing parts and were guaranteed that the parts would be supplied, but they never were, poor service, etc. I'm not happy to be writing this review but I feel obligated to save others the pain and suffering we've been through

The price was competitive with the national chains. It was NOT a one day installation, but Jim was very forthcoming about the actual time frame for completion. Every question and concern we had was addressed. The time frame was off by a couple of weeks due to the special order of the glass shower enclosure. [It arrived with the installation holes on the wrong end of the glass, hey, it happens. The last time I made a mistake was 1957] Jim went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. The job is beautiful and a complete makeover. We are very happy with the outcome. One last thought, my wife fell and broke her hip two weeks ago. I called Jim on Tuesday, 01/01/19, about installing a grab bar in both bathrooms. He was here this morning, 01/03/19, and installed two new grab bars and would not take any compensation. He is a gentleman and a meticulous worker. I cannot recommend Berkshire Bathworks more highly. They are the best.
