Nice new spot with a really chill vibe. The interior is super cute, and the outdoor seating area is also a great place to hang out. The servers were friendly and nice, which was a plus. I'm not a huge fan of the order-at-the-bar setup, though. The wait times were pretty long, and it felt a little inconvenient. One thing that was especially confusing is that the outdoor bar doesn't offer cocktails, so you have to go inside to order them. The food was decent and the drinks were okay. Nothing really stood out, but nothing was bad either. We enjoyed the throwback R&B with the live DJ they had on Friday. Overall, it's a cute place with potential, but the ordering system and long waits took away from the experience.

Super hot day & met four of my girlfriends there for an early evening meal. Happy hour is from 3 to 5 PM which is a little bit early, in my opinion. I ordered a limoncello drink which was wonderful. Ordered the burger and some fries for the table. Great food & hit, crunchy fries. We sat inside because it was crazy hot outside. They had a large table we were all able to sit around that was comfy. Orders are placed at the bar and the food is delivered to you. The servers were very helpful & friendly. It was very hot inside too. I don't know if they have air conditioning, but it was uncomfortable. I'd like to go back and sit outside on a day when it's not so hot.

OK LOYAL LEGION I SEE YOU Me and 3 friends walked in and there was a line to order at the bar, which was expected, but there were multiple bartenders working so we walked to the side and were helped immediately. There should be a sign indicating you can order anywhere a bartender is available. Honestly, this place was the smoothest grand opening I've been to. Hats off for doing this in the middle of the week so you don't get flooded with guests and are able to work out any kinks. Speaking of kinks.....the menu had items that"are coming soon" and marked through, which IMO feels like the opening was rushed, as now they have to reprint all menus removing the black out. I tried to order the "Wonder Woman Raspberry Seltzer", and they were out of it (I arrived at 7:30pm). However, I will give them grace as this was a popular item (per bartender) and not on tap. The music IMO could've been a little bit louder, but again it is a Wednesday and opening night so I also don't expect it to be in party mode lol. The outside bar area partially was closed due to tables that were painted, waiting to dry. I believe I saw on Instagram that back area was going to have another bar with taps. Again, referring back to my previous comment about the opening felt a little bit rushed. All the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Any booth or table that had dirty dishes from patrons that left, was cleaned almost immediately and ready for the next guests. Restrooms are in the back right, individual private stalls, with communal sinks, area was clean and maintained, which I love! The vibe was great, the service was great, I will 100% be back, and look forward to seeing how the scene is on weekends and will provide another update!

Vast interior improvement from Heathen and happy the location stayed family friendly! They have an "all ages" section but everything is open seating so expect to find folks taking advantage of first come first seated mentality. The menu is currently sparse being so close to opening but they were clever to advertise future menu options including sausages. The burgers themselves come a la carte so fries/tots/salad would be extra. Our spicy chicken sandwhich tasted great, the breading has a good level of mild spice to it but the bun was too large for our chicken breast so had a couple of bites at the end that just had bread (lame). The fries were also a little too undercooked for the style we were provided - make them a little crispier! Staff was super attentive, you order at the bar. Self-serve water station was also nice although it was installed on only one side of the very large bar so pour yourself an extra glass if you can carry it to save yourself a trip. For it being opening week, I think they had a good rhythm, we found seating and our food came in a timely manner. Would come back! Hopefully the fries get crispier ;)

Chicken sandwich(sadly mostly bun, the pic actually makes the chicken look bigger)

The remodel is very nicely done, with huge green booths and a rather large center bar area with several bartenders so the line went quickly. It was their opening weekend so I'm going to give them another chance, but this place is like a Chuck E Cheese with the amount of children allowed to run around. Not a fan of that, at all. I ordered a chicken sandwich, which was mostly bun and fatty, and their "ranch" is an affront to the name. It's NOT ranch. We ordered the sandwich, with tots, and a Caesar salad with chicken and two iced teas and our total with tip was $60, so not horrible, but not a cheap lunch. I'm rating this experience higher because it's their opening weekend, but I was very unimpressed by the food and the daycare feel of the place with the constant kids running around.

Consistently great food, top notch service, no matter the day or time. Honestly, just make the simple decision to keep your hard earned money and skip Goon Burger / Irrelevant Beer. This "goon" burger only qualifies as a burger in some chaotic South Park fantasy. It looks like they really dropped it on the floor and called it a concept. The fries? Sad, soggy, barely seasoned, and completely forgettable. Now the best part: the hipster staff at both places. They take themselves very seriously. One of their newer employees, clearly aiming for Employee of the Month, decided to stop me while I was literally grabbing my food and leaving, just to tell me, in a smug tone, that next time I can't bring my dog. The funny part. I was already outside waited for my food away from patrons, then I grabbed my food, and was leaving right away. What exactly was the problem? Did my calm, happy dog disrupt the sacred burger experience? I laughed and said we'll see about that. You don't just randomly enforce a rule like that and talk to customers like that. I've been there plenty of times before with no issue. But apparently, after a very important team meeting about dogs they had just yesterday, they have decided that, even "pickup customers" can't have their dogs with them. Mate, you could have just said "hey, can you tie him outside next time?" Easy. Human. Instead, you went full authority mode over a mid burger spot. I won't be going back, not because I will miss anything, but because of that attitude. When people blindly follow rules without basic common sense, it just gets sad. Anyway once again, Brothers Cascadia Brewery. Two minute drive, ten minute walk. Just go.

I also like good chips & coleslaw. I found all 3 here at the Waterfront Taphouse. Yay! (Don't worry they aren't too greasy!). We went here with another couple and enjoyed the beautiful view, even though our table wasn't right next to the window. That is probably due to all the big windows and it's on the 2nd floor of its building. Our server was friendly, and our food came out quickly. Loved the fish & chips, like I indicated above. Why the 4 stars then? My husband, the only one in our party that didn't order fish & chips, didn't love his mahi mahi fish tacos. They looked beautiful but fell short on flavor. He felt they needed more seasoning-they were a little tasteless. He dumped the tiny little cup of salsa on top and asked for more, but he was still disappointed. The fish wasn't salted properly. They also came with "house made" tortilla chips. These were hard and cardboard-like. That's too bad because it's not difficult to cut tortillas and fry them up. I do it at home sometimes. They turn out great. So maybe go to a good Mexican restaurant if you have your heart set on quality tortilla chips. If you want fish & chips though, come here instead of their neighbor to the east (not mentioning any names-you know what it's called). The portions were generous-as they should be for $30. That's the only downside. A little pricey. We shared 2 silk pie slices for dessert. Very dense and dark chocolatey. Good to share-a whole piece is too rich-and I like rich! If not for the fish tacos I would give Waterfront Taphouse 5 stars.

It's close enough to walk to, which makes it even better. Honestly, every time I walk through the door, I almost want to start singing the Cheers theme song. This is now my third visit, and each time I've had a great experience. The crowd is incredibly friendly, and there's just something about this place that makes you feel welcome. On my first visit, I sat at the bar and met Randi, the bartender. She is absolutely amazing! She knows everyone by name and has that wonderful ability to make you feel like you've been coming there forever. I started with the calamari, and Randi set me up with some chipotle mayo for dipping. Excellent choice! I finished with the combination pizza. At first, I thought the crust was sourdough, but I was told it's actually a bagel crust. Regardless of what you call it, it was absolutely delicious! My second visit was about a week and a half later. I sat at the bar again, and Randi looked at me, smiled, and said, "Tony, right?" Now THAT is pretty amazing! Remembering my name after only one previous visit--and with a week and a half between visits--is exactly the kind of personal touch that makes a place special. Of course, I had to order the calamari again. This time I also tried the fried chicken. And if you're looking for a big portion, this is definitely worth checking out! For my third visit, I brought a couple of friends along. Candace took great care of us and did an amazing job as well. We started with the Italian meatball soup, and it was phenomenal. If you're in the area, go in and give it a try. You will not be sorry! And if you see me sitting at the bar, just come say hi. Apparently, Randi already knows my name.
