Usually the staff is very nice but this lady, who answers to phone all the time, was rude, argumentative and inappropriate. Shame on her. When someone is pleading and begging and in tears you don't yell at them! And I had been calling as a courtesy. Given I was headed to the hospital ER with my child I didn't need to call them but wanted to because that's what honest, good people do. I am so blown away by getting yelled at by the moody lady that sits at the very front. Completely changed my opinion of the place.

I had an 8:45 AM telehealth appointment for an important prescription refill that I need to function, but Dr. Toohey was over 10 minutes late, which I didn't mind as I know she is busy. But because of her delay, I had to start driving to work. When she finally joined, and despite me saying "One second I'm pulling over right now", she immediately said we couldn't proceed because I was driving, ignored me, and abruptly ended the call within 10 seconds of joining - with 0 patience or willing to listen or care. It was very hurtful. When I reached out via message to ask what just happened and that I am pulled over now and ready, she responded by terminating me as a patient via letter. Her attitude throughout was condescending, rude, and disrespectful. This is not how healthcare professionals should treat patients, and I would not recommend her to anyone seeking any shred of empathy or care from a provider.

I must have brought it up to him five or six times and every time he would barely examine me before essentially shrugging his shoulders and saying "I dont know". Eventually I started asking him for a referral to a specialist or maybe some x-rays to find the problem. He refused to give me any referral and even said X-rays were unnecessary. So eventually I went just scheduled an appointment at another specialist on my own. Had to wait a long time for an appointment, but the first thing they did was order an x-ray. A week later I had a diagnosis and was scheduled for physical therapy. Two years of begging Dr Serve for help and all I needed was an x-ray and a very simple physical therapy plan (playing with therapy putty for a few minutes a day). Next off, and way more concerning. I had some moles appear a couple years ago. I asked Dr Serve to take a look at them and it took him all of three seconds to say they looked fine and there was nothing to worry about... Except it turns out there was something to be concerned about. I started seeing a new Dr who immediately referred a dermatologist without me even bringing it up. I got the results back and turns out one of them was not atypical. Long story short, i have Been living with a mole that needs excised for two years now, in other words potential skin cancer. I actually started at this location a LONG time ago (and about 3 doctors ago within this practice). My original doctor is still here (I think) but I changed when my office ended up right next to the Polaris location. I initially got connected to the practice through a referral to a doctor who had expertise in 2 areas I needed help with. The fact that it was sports medicine was just an added bonus. I appreciate their long hours and variety of doctors. They are also connected to PT which I've had to use upon occasion. My current doctor is younger than me - a female, not by requirement but she was available when the prior doctor (whom I didn't really like) left the practice. I had only seen him twice and I landed with him when I changed locations. I had to see my doctor this time as I needed a script renewed. I had the 7 AM appointment and was called back barely after sitting down after checking in. My stats were taken by the assistant and again - soon after she left the room the doctor appeared. NO WAITING! This is a MAJOR pain point for me as I'm a lawyer and my time is valuable. I've had some experiences recently at another doctor (specialist) where I had to get up and leave before even getting called back from the waiting room as I just couldn't waste any more of my time waiting. The frosting on the cake was that the office manager was SURPRISED when I left. Anyways, I have not encountered ANYTHING like this at Sports Max. They respect me and my time. My office moved downtown and I have stayed with the Polaris office. I would like to have a doctor near my home (Gahanna), but OhioHealth doesn't seem to have anything there - and Sports Max definitely does not. As a result, I'll stay with SportsMax and the inconvenient drive up as long as they keep their scheduling accurate and get me in and out quickly!
