I have avoided this place like the plague for several years, but Home Depot up the road did not have what I was looking for. The roving workers were very helpful and friendly. I actually needed a plastic downspout cut., not a normal request. I was not only assisted, but in a very friendly way. The checkout person was also tremendous. I've been working on some DIY projects around the house and garden so it seems as tho I'm at a hardware store more often than not these days. I typically frequent the west side Lowe's since it's closer to my house but I was running errands around this part of town and popped in to make a return and pick up a few things. So, ok. First off, the three stars are for the awesome people I encountered who work here. Both returns and my subsequent check out were efficient thanks to the two fellas that helped me out. That said, I don't love this location. It feels a little less organized and a bit grimier than my usual store. I also can't figure out if they need to downsize or expand their footprint bc the stock was all over the place. Maybe I just hit them at a bad time but more than a few shelves were empty and what was there was quite dusty. On the flip side, some of the aisles seemed to have too much stuff and the product was haphazardly organized or overflowing into storage carts in the aisle. In the end I did eventually get everything I needed but I'm no rush to hit this location again any time soon. But high fives to the nice dudes that work here. read more

BEWARE! LOWE'S DOES NOT HONOR IT'S 30 DAY RETURN POLICY!!! I just had the worst customer service experience I have had at Lowe's - a company I have rated well in the past. I wanted to power wash my patio, but found my old one didn't work properly so I went to Lowe's in search of a new one. A sales person at Lowe's convinced me to purchase a $300 Green Works power washer and convinced me if I could fix my old one, I had 30 days to return it. Given that piece of information, I purchased the new washer on June 21. Thinking I had 30 days to return it, I took my wife and two grandchildren on a little, 4 day trip to the lake. Upon my return 5 days later (June 26), I determined I could fix my old washer. I immediately went to Lowe's to return the new, unopened unit and was told I had exceeded the necessary TWO DAYS to return it! Apparently, they have a non-posted, "small print policy" of TWO DAYS for unspecified items like power washers and generators. Nowhere else was it posted that the return policy for this item was a scant 48 hours - NOWHERE!!!! Had I known that initially, I wouldn't have purchased it. I grabbed my receipt from the "customer service desk" and called corporate service and support. They repeated this rule but was "extremely sorry their associate misinformed me." I'm not sure her "apology" was worth my $300 pain, but next time, I'll think twice before shopping at Lowe's. You should think twice too! There is always Menard's or Home Depot! Then these same 2 men that delivered my fridge, showed up to my home unannounced at 7 am on a Saturday, pounding on my front door and tried to let themselves into my home and accused me of lying about damages they caused. Threatened me that they weren't being paid for their delivery since I had an issue. I demanded they leave my property or the police would be called. 3 weeks later and Lowe's has done absolutely nothing to resolve this issue. extremely disappointed in this experience and am getting legal action involved. read more

This place has good friendly service while in the store, but the installation practices leave room for extreme improvement. I ordered a shower door install for 2 baths. One was scheduled, and the other bath order was never completed. I contacted the store because I heard nothing. The contractor, who is Installz Plus finally called. They set up a date and then called and rescheduled. Great place for buying product but installation leaves a lot more to be desired. It may be the department and/or cintractor. Another one saw the first one look over and back, and he looked over, saw me, and also turned back to talk to the other two guys. I placed an online order for a pick up. I received a notification that it was ready for pickup. I parked in the pick up area and used my Lowe's App to notify Lowe's of my arrival. I waited for approximately 25 minutes and checked my app to see if my check-in didn't go through. It said something like "hang on we're running behind and are getting your order ready." I waited for approximately 15 more minutes. A nice, young, man named Steve brought my order out to my car. He was apologetic for the delay and loaded my items into my car. I appreciate that he acknowledged the long delay and was very sweet. I work in retail and everyone is in a hurry and employees feel pressured to get the job done!! This creates some bad energy! The negativity applies to both parties. We all need to take a breath, relax and smile and remember that we are all human and let's be nice. Stuff happens. Thank you, Steve. read more

Wish I could give zero stars! Terrible experience trying to get entry doors installed in my home! It started out good, or so I thought. They came out and did the measurements, then I went to the store and picked out 2 steel doors and 2 storm doors so I could order something in stock. Next, someone called me to place my order and have me make payment. I was told the installer would call within 48 hrs to schedule installation date. No one called, so a week later I started trying to call to inquire about installation. I called for 8 days straight, and each day was told someone would call me back, but it never happened. After 10 days I was told that the doors I picked out and paid for wouldn't work and I would need a special order which would take 8 weeks minimum. I cancelled my order and got a refund of my $5000. Update... I hired a local carpenter to install my doors. I bought the exact ones I picked out with my Lowe's order that they said wouldn't work, but guess what? They're perfect! Also saved myself $3000!! read more

Obviously most people know what to expect when they go into a Lowe's. This place is pretty much as-expected. I used this location MANY times as I was remodeling my office. We ended up doing a complete remodel... so this was my home for a while. Obviously the customer service is not what it used to be: friendliness questionable, knowledge weak, and they are often nowhere to be found... but overall was able to get everything I needed here at a semi-reasonable price. read more

I am so not using this business again although this is my closest Lowe's. I have always admired Lowe's and how well trained their staff are. Tried to order 2 toilets. The associate who helped me was very good but the whole thing went downhill from there. They said they could order it then reversed that. Next day, said they could get them from Allen Park and a manager would pick them up as he lived there. He didn't do that but promised it the next day he would have it at the store next day between 12/1. Next day, no toilets as they now said the other store did not have them. Okay, but shouldn't they have checked or called me? Then they reneged on meeting me half way between the original first choice and my next choice was $200. Then they said that they could only give me 10% off even though I had already opened a line of credit with them. They do not follow through or keep their promises so I went down the street to Hime Depot and got 2 toilets comparable to the first 2 I choose at Lowe's for $100 less including the the hook up items. Been here a number of times and found service friendly and helpful in locating any items that I need. They have all the normal home sections--major appliances, indoor/outdoor furniture and fixtures, hardware and tools, floor/wall/home exterior treatments, gardening, cleaners, window and door treatments, storage solutions. Basically anything you need for DIY home improvement and also items for professionals too. One tip is that many of the outdoor items--lawn decor and furniture, mulch, potting soil, lawn treatments, gravel, etc. are seasonal items so you need to plan accordingly when to buy them. These are located towards the left side of the store, with many items in the outside wall/fence-enclosed section of the store. Plenty of parking and centrally located close to other big box retailer stores like Meijer and Target. read more

It was no longer worth the stress it was causing by being treated so poorly and going on week FIVE without a working fridge. We are out of so much out of pocket it's ridiculous. I cannot believe the terrible customer service and the way they just literally did not care. I HIGHLY recommend not buying from this store ESPECIALLY appliances. All said and done we were without a fridge, freezer, filtered water and ice for FIVE weeks!!! We had to buy coolers, ice and have minimal food on hand for FIVE weeks. Multiple employees said they would reimburse our out of pocket costs to just keep track of it and in the end they did not offer a penny! To say we are mind blown is an understatement. I made an unfortunate decision to purchase carpet and installation services at Lowes. I did this because I thought they would back their carpet and installation; but they will not. Shortly after the installation, grey stains started to come up through the carpet around door frames and corners. These eventually turned black. When I initially called, the Lowes Installation Support people immediately tried to blame Stainmaster, saying this sometimes occurs when a loom has grease on it. HOWEVER, these stains were not wide-spread and occurred only where the carpet met a wall or door frame where glue was applied. The chances of this being a manufacturer's error were slim to non, since there would have also been other random stains. It was way to coincidental to be the manufacturer. I FINALLY got someone to show up and look at the carpet - that was a joke. His report said that the stains were my fault because he claimed that we had put graphite on the hinges so the doors would close more easily! GRAPHITE!!!! Who would put graphite on anything if they could actually find graphite in the first place? I am nearly 73 years old and not able to take a door off hinges to graphite them. I have been in and around construction all of my life and would never find Graphite to be a solution to bad hinges; replacing them would have been the solution. My son, who lives with me, suffered a spinal cord injury in an accident, making it impossible for him to put anything on hinges close to carpet. In addition, all of our hinges are and have always been in perfect working order! CONSEQUENTLY, Lowes is insisting that it is Stainmaster's fault and is forcing us to wait many more weeks for a resolution. I have spent $40,000 - $50,000 at Lowes the the past many years and that has come to an end. Menard's and Home Depot both have far superior customer service. I'm certain that Stainmaster and Lowes will point fingers at each other till the end of time and I will be the net loser. My home looks shabby after buying 1300 +- square feet of carpet. Lowes does not behave as it time were of the essence. They frankly do not show any empathy or concern. That leads me to belive this is business as usual for them! read more

I have ordered a oven. The sub contractor did t deliver between 8 and 12 as promised. When they called at 1:30, I said I'll be beck from lunch at 3 I can be there at that time. No you have to call the store to rebook. So I went to the store and video taped the exchange. If I was video taping I had to leave it implied legal action. Tonight I have no oven, no refund and no rebooking. Gang, anywhere but here. I've never been so abused in my life. This sub contractor has served me previously and it was the same then. Never enough help, I was there this evening and there was only one person that knew how to do anything. I waited over a half an hour and left within receiving any help. Not the first time I have been unable to receive help. Lowe's has hit the skids. Once my go to for any hardware and lawn purchases. Now I hit Ace or Home Depot as much as I can. I went back to Lowe's this morning, I have to edit my initial review. Mark helped me immediately after I pushed the help button. Mark held off going on break to help me by cutting my roller shades. I wish I would have come to read the reviews before I stepped into a Lowe's store and purchased a refrigerator. This has been the most difficult, time consuming process of purchasing an appliance I've ever had. I've wasted no less than 12 hours with close to 50 phone calls, 2 defunct refrigerators delivered, 8 delivery times scheduled (we had to be available for at our home, thus leave work), and being told multiple times someone would call me back but to no avail. Would give zero stars if allowed! I purchased a wash/dryer set on 10/31/23 with a Lowes card over the phone with employees. ( Daughter was there)​. The final return was picked up by Lowes. ONLY the dryer was refunded. Spoke to everyone and told them they could see the issue but couldn't fix it. As I never have a balance on my card, it was very obvious the lack of a refund. The manager says they see no issue. No one will or has listened. I ultimately bought two washing machines for my daughter, and one sits in the store as a floor model. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see I was not refunded on my Lowes card. If I treated my clients the way they have treated me, I would not be in business. I have to pay or it destroys my credit and incurs interest. So I will, but I will not go away quietly. Lowe's is a great chain hardware store. This location is near my job and when I need to stop and grab items, I go here. The store is clean, well stocked, and staff is helpful. I have great memories of the kids clinics my son attended in the past pre pandemic when he was younger, those kits were his favorites as they frequently paired with popular themes. The plants are great and usually of good quality. I stopped today to grab a swiffer, a few cleaning supplies and found an item that I wish I knew existed before today, car cleaning wipes in a container similar to lysol wipes. They work amazing and smell great. They will be my car staple for years to come. Only bad thing about Lowe's as a chain is the fact they don't have those hot dog vendors anymore chainwide. read more

I've been going to this Lowes for years. Customer service has been ok but not great. They have went downhill lately. I will now be switching to Home Depot for all of my home improvement needs. Nobody in that store can answer any questions. I wanted to purchase a door but they couldn't do that so I went to the carpet to order that but they said they can't install anything on sale, so I went to the paint and was completely ignored. I tried to buy an open box of ceiling tile that was missing a few but nobody could authorize it and they had no idea who or where the manager was. read more

I decided to give Lowe's main customer service line a call and share my experience. She told me that a store manager would follow up with me. Later in the day, Chris, the manager of the appliance section of the store, told me that he would upgrade my model and allow me to pay the Black Friday price for the lower model. So, now I have a $240 vacuum for $89! That's worthy of adding 2 more stars to the previous score of 1-star! Be ready to walk a lot. It's hard to find stuff until you learn the layout, and even then, familiarity with the layout doesn't always help. Ask an associate, if you can find one. I am often annoyed to find that when I reach into a bin to get out a part, it's not the part that it's supposed to be. People take stuff out and then guess where to put it back. Pay more attention, people! When I'm standing next to hubby, I sometimes pass the time by putting things back into their correct bin. Maybe I should have been a librarian. Lowe's is OK for stuff that a home builder would use frequently. In other words, get-the-job-done quality grade, not for when you splurge on a remodel. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong. They have some fancy tiles, and other things that would make your home a little nicer than it already is. Lowe's is also not very good for unusual stuff--I go to a place like Stadium Hardware for that. Lowe's can special order a lot of things, like doors and windows, bathtubs and sinks. Lowe's sub-contracts to carpet layers and carpenters, etc. When something is just past your skill level, it's best to let some experts do it for you. The work has been satisfactory, in my experience. You'd think that a store this big in size and distributed all over the country would have some wonderful way of doing business, but I am not blown away. It's just barely OK for me. I don't get a warm, fuzzy feeling from Lowe's. But I can find some stuff I need. They do let us bring our dog in there, and she gets to love on some new people. read more

I hated the Lowe's where we used to live but when we moved to Ann Arbor I started going to this store because it was close. If you go during the week, the people who work here are helpful. I bought new dead bolts here and wanted them all keyed the same. The locksmith changed all the locks (four) for me. I ordered new kitchen counters through them. The people in the kitchen department were helpful and had good follow through. They use an independent contractor who does the measuring, ordering, and installation of the counter (including removal of the old counter and all the plumbing). The independent contractor did a very nice job on the installation and left my home clean and undamaged. read more

So on 5-May went in to get two replacement wheels for my high pressure sprayer. I found the replacement wheels, the guy working in the mower department was not helpful. So good old Lowe's, the wheels they sell that I purchase use a 5/8" axle.. but Lowe's doesn't sell the 5/8" axle fasteners, biggest they had was 1/2". Ditto to Ariel 's review. You might find somethings a cent or two cheaper than Home Depot but the attitude and the professionalism of the Home Depot employees make this the far better choice. Most of the contractors go to Home Depot. Last time I was at Lowes I was helped by an employee who ate candy and listened to his ipod while he checked me out. When I had questions about fencing, no one there had a clue. My experiences at Home Depot have been polar opposite. It seems most of the people working there have had experience construction and that has been invaluable to me when figuring out what I needed. Couple that with a no questions asked easy return policy and Home Depot is my go to hardware store on the west side of Ypsilanti. read more

When I tried to used it today in this same store, staff said the driver license with this in store credit is not mine. What a joke. I gave my exact same driver license to the staff when I got this in store credit. Even today two different staff at the same store input my license number differently! And Lowes couldn't locate record!! Lowe's, you suck. Your staff made a mistake and you expect customer to fix it and you don't have a record at hand! And when issuing in store credit, this requirement was not explained to customers!! The store manager, Eric, said it took a while for him to figure it out. I left the in store credit! Horrible service! They were supposed to change our countertop in one day. We ended up not having water for one week. Finally, someone came to fix this. Now it is been three weeks that our dishwasher is not working properly because of the pipe connection. We called them everyday we went to talk to the manager. He even gave us the wrong number. Time after time after time the service at this store disappointed me. Many times I have encountered staff who were friendly and tried to provide assistance, but repeatedly fell short because they were unable or incapable due to store issues. Others times, but thankfully much less frequently, staff were rude and didn't feel compelled to provide basic customer service or communicate with common courtesy. I've witnessed other frustrated customers and wondered what could have happened to elicit that kind of reaction, but now I know. We have had multiple bad experiences with this Lowe's. The last time we said we will only shop at menards down the street. We stuck to that promise for over a year and then decided we would give Lowe's another chance. We ordered blinds- the specialist entered our order incorrectly. We get a bunch of boxes to our house and set up the installation. Just because of my curiosity to see the product prior to installation. We ordered cordless we got cords. I call them back and since there was no specialist there- no one could help us- not even a manager. We go in the next day after being called back 2x saying yes the product is wrong. We told them we were coming in- when we got there she wanted to tell us unless we brought in the wrong product they couldn't help us! We weren't told to- and we didn't know because it got delivered to our house. She said oh that person was new .... anyways after sitting and watching her struggles with entering the correct order they decided they would send the product to the store- i guess because they feel we will steal the incorrect product ?? So now may 20 we are still waiting since April 7th to get our correct blinds and get them installed. And we have already paid for them ! read more

Don't know how to review 'big box' retailers, but this store was clean, easy to find things (realtively if you know what section they are in). Items are of varying quality, from cheap tools to good tools (get what you pay for). A good place for getting lumber or supplies for home improvement projects. I would say stay away from flooring or tiles, go to specialty shops for that, you will get much higher quality and better pricing. Overall a good store to shop at for home improvement. Comparable to the Home Depot down the road. read more

In October of 2014 we purchased a Kohler toilet from this location. We asked about the installation services and decided to move forward with the purchase and installation. Lowe's contacted us within 24 hours saying that the installation company would call us to set up an appointment. The installation company, Stewart(?), called and set up an appointment for two days later. The installers showed up (were supposed to call first to let us know they were on their way but didn't), tramped into the house (no booties) and installed the toilet in 20 minutes. They removed the old commode and left. Among the things they left were a trail of dirt on our upstairs carpeting and the old toilet on our front lawn! We specifically paid for removal services beyond dumping a lawn decoration on our curb. I immediately called the installation company and they informed me that we had either not read the contract correctly (right) and that they don't deal with clean up from dirty boots. And then hung up on me. Perfect. Out of desperation I called Lowe's and spoke to the installation services manager. Told him the story. He informed me that the installation company was absolutely incorrect and should have taken the commode away completely. He also wanted to come and take pictures of the dirt on the carpet. We were already late and couldn't wait for him to come over and take pictures so we declined. The manager then said he would be over in 15 minutes to take the toilet and dispose of it himself! Long story but in the end the Lowe's manager went out of his way to right the wrong of the installers and would have even done more to clean the carpets if we had time. read more
