This was the only time that I've been in Sterling Heights. We were there to help my sis in law move a couch. We needed a strap and padded felts for the bottom feet of the couch. The manager Max here is horrible. I've been coming here for years & no longer be doing so due to the simple fact that Max is very OK with the fact that they are selling water filters that last two months when they're stating they should last six months to a year, so of course many other stores sell this water filter which I'll be purchasing from now on along with any other product that I used to buy from here. If you're a loyal customer here and do not expect it in return when they clearly know they're selling you defective products that don't do what they say. DO NOT ORDER ANY INSTALLS THRU LOWE'S!!!!Ordered an exterior door going to my garage. They charged my card for measurements and then for materials and installation. The installers scheduler set up a date for install via texts. Then I received a call and subsequent texts to a changed date. NO SHOW. I received phone calls to pick up the material even though the installers was supposed to pick it up...not me. They even scheduled my city inspector to come and review the job/permit before the job was even complete. I was bounced around to voicemails, chat rooms and different schedulers at least 5 different people (not even local). I missed 3 days of work because of their lack of communication/coordination/organization. I was so fed up that I cancelled the order but they wouldn't refund me the $35 for measuring the door. I realize that it is a "separate job" to them but they should have refunded it in good faith. They lost a lifelong customer. We absolutely love coming to Lowe's but NOT when we need someone to help. We stood in the outdoor department and requested assistance for over half an hour and NO ONE showed up. We ended up going to customer service and they said they would send someone over, waited another 15 minutes AFTER that and no one came. Online ordering = no issues. However, Curbside pick up is mismanaged. Followed instructions to checkin, waited 15-20 minutes with no order (large item which is why I used curbside). Called no one to answer at curbside. Customer service answered, stated that curbside only had 1 person and they were on lunch break, advised that customer service rep would come out. Very large strip mall lot off a busy intersection. I stopped by here for some specialized but not rare tools after I went past Harbor freight and their versions were not enough. A large, clean, well lighted store. Some of the worst customer service I have seen in a long time. I couldn't find one of things I needed, not rare, just the item was packaged in kits every logical place I looked, not singly. The first employee had a heavy Central American accent, no idea what my words meant, tried to page help, no one came. We ordered 3 exterior doors for our house about 6 months ago and after many many delays we are supposed to have them delivered today 3-21-22 for installation on Friday 3-25-22 . We were told that they would be delivered between 8-10 am, so after taking time off of work and making arrangements they have not showed up. I went to the store and the Store Manager preceded to spin the whole issue and not offer any solution at all. I have since called the store and have been informed that the doors and paperwork are still there and have not been picked up for delivery it is now 12:15 and it surely doesn't appear that they will be delivered within the allotted time frame. Needless to say that the doors have been at the building for about a month. DO NOT BUY FROM OR SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM, they are not on your side and do not care about the customer. The staff is nice but when I spoke to the manager it's a whole different story. He is not an understanding or nice person and even when I said I don't want anything for free I just want to make sure that this doesn't happen to anyone else he said do you want me to report to you how I handle my team. Purchased over $725 worth of stuff in one visit, including a $259 power washer. Used the power washer once and stored it in my basement. Went to use it this year and the carb wouldn't pull gas. I ordered a new fridge mid March from this store and could write a novel about the horrible nightmare it's been. Every time I try to figure out the status of the order I'm told to call a different number, or that a different person is to blame for the delay. I could understand if it was just delivery delays due to supply chain issues, but I've had botched deliveries that damage the fridge and my house, and cancelled deliveries that left me waiting around for hours without a phone call to let me know it had been postponed. By May I called the store and cancelled the order, called Lowe's customer service and cancelled, and finally called the fulfillment center and cancelled. However, none of that made a difference and I'm still waiting for a refund. Again, every person I spoke to directed me to someone else and gave me a new number to call. Finally I ended up on the phone with Frank, the store manager, who told me I was making it worse on myself for involving so many people. Heaven forbid I try and figure out where my $2400 refund is. After being on the phone for over 2 hours today and being transferred to 4 different people the consensus is I need to wait 3-5 business days, and call back if the refund doesn't appear. I was told the exact same thing a week ago. Overall, they might have the appliance you're looking for but it won't be delivered, and good luck trying to get your money back. read more

Lowes sells JUNK tools. I know they are supposed to handle Craftsman now and I've always had good luck with that brand at Sears in the past, but outside of Craftsman they market bottom-line quality junk. I bought an epoxy gun-brought it home to apply some silicon epoxy and the da-n rivets holding the handle/mechanism onto the body failed! This was during August so the epoxy wasn't cold or anything. Took it back, got a refund. OK, here I am two months later with the same need-so I decide to go back and this time purchase the best epoxy gun they have. Bought it, brought it back home and the da-n sheet metal handle failed as I was trying to apply the epoxy! I mean, come on! I'll take it back with the receipt and probably get a refund, but what about my time running over there and back? Not to mention the frustration. Lowes quality control group better get on the ball or they'll be OUT of business, selling bottom line junk to assure a bigger profit doesn't pay off long term, people start looking elsewhere for their purchases. read more

absolutely screwed up my curbside pickup. Simple order, a bunch of lumber, prepaid the day before - 50 minutes later, numerous phone calls, numerous wrong / incorrect answers from numerous employees, got sent all over the parking. lot and back again - only to find out that my order was the only one in the whole place, right up front with my name on it and there were some half dozen workers standing around...that is until i motioned towards them, at which time they all scattered. nice. I won't be going back. shame for them - I'm remodeling a house from top to bottom, basement, two garages and including full landscaping on a half acre lot. Eh...its Lowes.... they have most everything I need and want. Tons of good stuff for your home. Very typical store.

So here's the thing... customer service regardless of whether it be at Lowe's, HD, Menards etc. doesn't seem to be great or consistent. All of the stores seem understaffed, and associates tend to be working in multiple departments (many of which they are not experts in) to assist customers. After going to another Lowe's location near our home we had multiple horrible experiences with a recent one over the last week that truly disappointed us as a consumer. We were ignored once for 30 minutes and left without getting help, 2nd time we came in we were told to come back later when a specific person was available and would know how to help us, after returning for the 3rd time we decided to leave after being ignored yet again for almost 40 minutes until we finally left again after listening to the call for help button page multiple times without any acknowledgement or assistance. We literally watched multiple employees walk right by us and put their heads down because they too could hear the pages and didn't want to make eye contact out of fear of having to help us. (The only person that has ever been helpful at this particular location was Susan, but she was not in.) Unable to get any assistance and not wanting to miss the sale for the 2nd time this year due to poor service, we decided to stop into the Metro Pkwy location hoping to have a different experience. Our expectations were low, but we couldn't have been happier! Upon or arrival to the window treatment department, we were greeted by a gentleman asking if we were finding everything ok while he was stocking the shelves. He was more than happy willing to get off his latter and page over a specialist for assistance for help. Rita stopped by and helped get us started by looking at sample books while we waited for Anne to finish up in paint and come over to help us. For the last week we simply wanted to schedule an in-home measurement for custom order blinds. Anne walked us through the available options after listening to our wants and needs to help us find the best options for us. She even offered a better option and although she up-sold us compared to what we originally were planning, after she determined our needs we realized it would be worth the extra costs. Anne, thank you for all of your help and assistance today. You are truly a great asset to the Lowe's team! read more

When speaking with the assistant manager at this store I found her to be very rude and unhelpful. She blamed everything and everyone, and never took ownership of the problem. I was never able to speak directly to the manager. If you are going to subcontract delivery companies to deliver appliances for your store... it is YOUR responsibility to make mistakes right. "Meh" is about right. My dad wanted to buy me a new over the range microwave for Christmas, so we went here to pick it out. We wandered the appliance section for about 20 minutes while we figured out which one was best - all the while no sign of an employee. After we determined which one was best, we were sorely looking for someone to help us. I spied two employees in the neighboring (15 ft away) kitchen design center, happily talking amongst themselves and ignoring us. We approached them and asked for assistance, so they paged Don to come. Don ambled in a few minutes later; gruff and chomping on a toothpick. He slowly got all the paperwork together and sat us down for the purchase. He had no personality, no grace or no friendliness - just gruff and crotchety, frayed toothpick waggling around his mouth the entire exchange. The best part was when he offered us the extended warranty and, when we declined, proceeded to tell us that the microwave we were buying wouldn't last long at all - none of them do, apparently. I usually shop at Home Depot, but I needed quality drywall, supplies, and a rental truck to haul it. I called the store and spoke to Sarah T. Very pleasant, and had a sense of urgency to make (me) the customer happy. The truck wasn't gassed up and ready to be rented out, but she put things in motion so that I was able to get all of my supplies, the truck rental, and return, all within about an hour. Best experience that I have ever had at a home improvement store, which I typically dread. Sarah T. especially, and several other employees at the customer service counter were efficient, acknowledged waiting customers, and dealt with problems professionally. I bought a washer, dryer, and refrigerator and paid for the installation in my new home. Installers attached the coupling to the washer and opened the valve. Apparently not checking there work, they went to install the refrigerator. Turned out the coupling to the water was fastened and I had significant water pouring out of my laundry, walkway, and closet. I didn't catch it till the water started getting into the kitchen. Needless to say, the water soaked the floor boards into the basement and drywall leading out to the garage. The installers also failed to tighten the gas to the dryer. After calling lowes to inform, they sent out a person to "fix" the problem the following day. Gas was fixed immediately and they provided a fan in 3 days to dry the basement. I had to put space heaters in the laundry room to dry the drywall. There was no compensation nor trying to make things right after spending thousands in that store. Horrible experience, poor business practice, and terrible customer service. I would recommend going elsewhere but at LEAST go somewhere else for installing. read more

This review is for Justin, the customer services manager. We were dealing with a rebate issue for more than a year with the past manager and were about to give up when we decided to stop in one last time. When we heard that the manager was no longer working at this store, we were sure that there was was no way we were going to get our rebate. However, Justin (the new manager) was very willing to help and heard us out. He promised to look into it and call us back. We had heard this line multiple times before so didn't really expect a call. Much to our surprise, not only did he call back but he had also figured out a solution. The 3rd party rebate center didn't honor the rebate so Justin had the store take care of it. This is your average lowes, hate to admit it, but it's true. All the stuff you need or want are there and some over priced and most you can find online for a bit cheaper. Although I never checked to see if they price match, I still get things from here when I can't or do not want to wait for it coming in the mail. A good selection of light bulbs for that emergency you have but most are online and cheaper. read more

I purchased a faucet for my kitchen back in march, the product started leaking from the top and caused water leak in my kitchen. I took it back, they told me there was only a 90 day warranty from Lowes. So I went and bought a new faucet from them at 1:15 pm, took the product home and opened it, this item was closed with plastic straps both ways. I had to cut the straps to open, parts were missing, and the faucet was dirty. As you can imagine this was not ideal. I took took the product back around 1:40 pm. They had the plumbing person (Otis) look ay my return. He told me it was used and had missing parts. Then the manager (Julie C ) came over and told me that they could not return this product because it was used. Clearly this was not used by me. I proceeded to call customer service and spoke to (Chantel). Once I explained everything on the phone she told me since the manager deemed the product used and would not issue a credit to buy another one. I was astounded by the the lack of common sense these people have. I purchased the faucet and retuned it all within 25 min. After being a Lowe's loyal customer for over 10 years it is very disheartening to say that my family and I will no longer step foot in their stores. Went there to buy a grill over the memorial week end and they had at least 15 different grills out on display the one I wanted they had two so I told the sales kid I wanted one of the two Weber gas grill not even on sale and he was told not to sell any of the grills on the floor but I could order on line they would put it together and I could pick it up on the holiday?! I asked him why wouldn't Lowe's want to sell a grill that wasn't even on sale and make money he told me that's pretty much it no sale for me . Needless to say I left and went to my hometown ace walked in and they had the same grill on sale they sold it to me and I was out of there within 10 mins!!
