I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Lowe's installation services.
In June 2025, Lowe's measured my home for a front storm door and garage door replacement. I paid $9,255.62 in full on July 8, 2025. While the garage door installation went smoothly (credit to the Collier installation team for being professional and efficient), the front door installation--priced at approximately $5,000--became a five-month ordeal.
Key issues included:
* Multiple scheduled installation dates where I took off work and the job was not completed
* An installer who partially removed my door, then refused to complete the job
* Being told the door needed to be sent back to the manufacturer when it never left the store
* An in-stock part misrepresented as special order
* Required components never ordered
* Incorrect parts ordered more than once
* Repeated rescheduling and lack of accountability
The front door was not fully completed until December 4, 2025, nearly five months after purchase, due entirely to Lowe's contractor and coordination failures.
After everything was finally resolved, Lowe's offered $312, citing that the front door portion was approximately $5,000. This amount does not reasonably reflect:
* Multiple missed workdays
* Months of disruption and follow-ups
* Repeated installer and process failures
This is also not my first major issue with Lowe's. In 2021, a Lowe's contractor damaged my granite countertop during a sink installation, which required reimbursement.
For a company of Lowe's size and reputation, this level of service--and the minimal resolution offered--falls far short of expectations. I hope Lowe's leadership takes a serious look at installer oversight and how long-term customers are treated when things go wrong.
The store was fine. This is an install partner and executive issue. read more
