Lowe's Plainville, MA - Avoid for Custom Kitchen Projects I hired Lowe's Plainville for a custom kitchen cabinet order, and it's been a nightmare. The cabinets (Diamond Cabinets) arrived with visible defects--splitting seams and separated miter joints. A base cabinet was designed at the wrong height, throwing off the whole alignment. This wasn't an installer error--it came directly from Lowe's kitchen designer. Customer service has been just as bad. I was charged for items I never ordered or received, and only got a refund after threatening to file a complaint with the Attorney General. After waiting two weeks for a Diamond rep to inspect the issues, the appointment was canceled 15 minutes before with no clear reschedule plan. Months of back-and-forth with the kitchen designer, department head, and store manager --and still no resolution. Bottom line: poor quality, poor design, poor service. I would not recommend Lowe's Plainville for anything custom. read more

This Lowe's has good signage on every aisle, so it was easy for me to find the storage and crate section I was looking for. I did not require any assistance, so I did not interact with any of the staff on the floor during this visit. I went to check the prices and the sizes of some storage bins / crates. Their selection was really good and their prices were competitive to other similar stores. I like their self checkout lanes, they make shopping and paying so much easier. read more

This lowes is awful. I had to buy some carpet here as they were the only ones with a direct match. I needed 57 linear feet of it. Of course the carpet guy was out to lunch at 9am. That's what they told me. At 10am he apparently just went on his lunch break. Came back at 12 and guess what? I was told the carpet guy had just went to eat. When he finally showed up he told me he had to eat. He got me my carpet. Said he accidentally went 2 linear feet over. Nope this guy shorted me. I ended up with 34 linear feet of carpet but paid for 59. Hours later when I complained I was told "sounds like your problem" absolutely garbage. Not to mention they don't have humans to check you out. Only self check out (contractor section is rarely staffed) they dig through your items to make sure you are not stealing. It's insulting. I find it hard to believe that in February with talks all week about another storm coming I go to Plainville Lowes for ice melt. They have no ice melt but I can buy a ride on lawnmower and grass seed. Way to have your fingers on the pulse of the regional weather. Ordered and paid a good penny to have a NEW product delivered. The truck came AN HOUR AFTER the window of 11am-3pm, AND the product was damaged BEFORE it even left the Wilmington MA warehouse. WHY would you send me a product that you could visibly see was damaged. The box it was in was VISIBLY GASHED, and the damage is directly pushing into electrical components. Bought a shop vac and, upon opening it, found a part was broken. I was short on time (because of this unforeseen trip back to the store 18 min each way) so I called to tell them I was en route to exchange the item, and asked that they have a replacement ready at the customer service desk - the response was "we don't do that". Great, okay. So I get to the store and show the girl the broken part, and (no apology or acknowledgment that they've sold me a broken item or wasted my time/gas) she goes "ok you can go grab another one" - oh... thank you? I'm sorry, can no one who works here grab another one? So I trekked across the store with no idea where I was going, eventually found it, had to carry the heavy and cumbersome box back to the desk and wait again in line... absolutely abysmal customer service and apparently poor quality control as well, guess I'm a Home Depot girl now. read more

Go to a register and ask where I go to refill a propane tank. He says "any register" and puts his head down. Dumbfounded, I ask if his register would be one. He responds "any register". So we get by that challenge. Get my receipt and stand outside where I was told to go and wait for someone. 10 mins go by, no one comes. I went there looking for a faucet water filter. Not being able to locate once I was in the store, there were very few customers and few employees throughout the store. Not only didn't they have them, many of the products were empty on the shelves. I will not be returning to this location or Loew's for quite some time. I used to always shop at Home Depot. I visited this location for first time. I can now understand why there were 2 star reviews. Corporate needs to visit this location anonymously to get the experience I just received. No one not even customer service knew where a product was located. I am handicapped and was forced to physically walk through out the entire garden department to find pellets, only to find ripped up wet bags that I had to haggle about seeing they were damaged. But worst part I wasn't offered a hand as a senior to load 40lb bags into my car and on a dolly. I wanted to cry. When I told customer service that her employee did not know where the pellets were her response was "he's a cashier.! " that's it? No other skills or product knowledge? I went to Warwick RI where great service staff gave me incredible hands down service two weeks ago. With quite a few customers not wearing mask protection and being in high risk category, I asked for the manager to determine what the store policy is. I was directed to Bethany (turns out she's a head cashier), on my re asking, she confirmed that she is the manager and proceeded to tell me that there is no store policy for masks and that I should stay at home. As I walked away she said to the initial flagged cashier that I always come in with some issue. Her mask was below her nose. She was not professional and was very confrontational. At customer service desk the actual manager said that there is a face mask statement on the entry door, and that each town sets masking requirements. I guess Plainville doesn't have indoor masking requirements, except at town facilities as I couldn't find this information on the website. read more

I had a whirlpool 30 inch oven delivered to a new construction site where it was placed in the garage six weeks later the electrician open the box to find it there was a dent on the side, when I called the store, I spoke to the manager who was on willing to help me exchange it, even though the box had never been open and it was a new construction site. in the future, I will not be purchasing appliances from Lowe's secondary to their unwillingness to assist me in this manner. read more

Ordered $650 worth of pavers and had them delivered. Lowe's sent the wrong pavers. Now, I completely understand that people make mistakes. This was a careless mistake but still...I do understand. However, I did not receive one apology or "sorry". Typical big box store where no one cares about you. The original pavers were supposed to be delivered on a Friday so I could install them on Saturday. Of course the women that was helping me asked if they could deliver Monday. I told her my plan was to do the patio on Saturday. "Sure no problem". Well, delivery was planned in the morning at 10am. It arrived close to 1:00pm. No patio this weekend and no apology from Lowe's. I recently bought a cubicle unit from the Plainville store... when I got it home it had a little damage on the outside of the unit. I took it back to return. The woman at the customer service desk went above and beyond to make it right..she had a young man get me another to exchange. Because it was such a heavy item for me to handle, the two employees took the time to open it up and inspect every piece that was in the box to make sure there was no damage so I wouldn't have to make another trip back. I could not have been more happy with my experience at lowe's this morning,to be exact monday march 21st. I myself was sent to lowes with minimal instructions looking for hardware and paint i knew nothing about. Brandon was absolutely amazing, so knowledgeable about the things i couldn't even pronounce might i add very patient as well as i was with my sister and we are extra. He was so sweet this guy deserves a PROMOTION OR AT LEAST A RAISE! it's not every day you get someone as helpful and nice as Brandon was. As i mentioned we also needed paint shoutout to Glenn the MAN in the paint department again knew exactly what we needed took me over the colors the gloss or not options he put the colors in and was absolutely a great and helpful experience i would have been there for hours if it wasn't for BRANDON and GLENN! I usually receive good service at Lowe's in Plainville. But the service I received recently from the building dept was so poor that I will probably shop elsewhere. 1) I went to Lowe's to buy wood for a project. There are many options for plywood and since I'm a novice I stopped by the building dept desk to ask for advice. The person at the desk was friendly enough but just pointed me to the appropriate aisles. I'm not sure why he didn't offer to help me find the best products for my project. It was a Tuesday morning and not very busy. I noticed he went back to his mobile phone as I walked away. 2) The sheets of plywood I needed were large and heavy (4x8 3/4 in hardwood). I had difficulty pulling the sheets off the racks by myself. You think any of the sales staff would help me as I struggled? Nope - one person just walked by and smiled - polite but of no help. 3) To save time, I decided to take advantage of Lowe's wood cutting service. I had the measurements for all but one piece. Again, the sales staff was friendly but when I mentioned I wasn't sure about one piece and thought I should cut this myself, he was out of there like a bat out of hell. He didn't ask any questions or tried to help me decide what would work best. I seemed to be bothering him. So I decided to cut them all myself. He really looked relieved that he would not have to help me cut the dozen or so 2x4s and 3 sheets of plywood. Took me about 2 hrs when it would have taken him less than 30 minutes. 4) With a large cart full of plywood and 2x4s, you would think one of the staff would have offered to help me load the Lowe's pickup truck I rented. Instead, I was pointed to where the truck was parked and struggled to load the sheets of plywood by myself. 5) Since I rented a pickup truck I decided to take advantage and bought a wheelbarrow and about a dozen bags of mulch. Do you think the sales staff would offer to help me load the truck? You guessed it - no, I was simply pointed to the items with no offer to help. I don't understand why no one offered to help - it was a slow Tuesday. I know I could have asked for help but I was so put off by the lack of customer service, I'd rather struggle by myself and did. Customer service is the key to a successful business. It's not rocket science. Stocking shelves, texting or playing with a mobile phone should not be a priority. I guess we give up good customer service for convenience and variety at the large box stores. But going forward, I will try to give the local hardware stores more of my business since they seem to be more appreciative of my business and don't consider me a nuisance. Let me finish by saying the customer service rep at Lowe's was very friendly and helpful with the renting of the truck so my experience was not entirely terrible. I went to the Plainville Ma location 2 days ago and bought 3 sets of Schlage products. I wanted to get all the locks coded to work with 1 key. I was told by an associate named Andy that they should be able to do it if I left the products with them I should be able to pick them up the next day. I understood after calling around most Lowes have 1 or 2 people than can code locks. I called the following day and was told by Don the manger of that department that lock sets were ready. I drove up to Lowes in Plainville Ma only to find out by an associate named Wenday that they were not ready. Wendy said she will leave notes and do her best to make sure the person coding the keys gets it done the following day. So the following day comes I got the call and was told they are all set and ready for pick up. When I arrived I found out they lost 1 of the lock sets I bought. I found Andy and asked him for help but he and another associate could not find them. I spoke to Ed the store manager who did not help looking for the missing products and said he could not call the off duty person who coded my locks. So I was left with the choice of him replacing my missing product uncoded to match and come back yet a 3rd time to have it coded or go elsewhere to have it coded or a refund on all the products I bought. At that time I was frustrated so I asked for a refund. read more

I went to Lowe's in Plainville with my husband to get a few items on Sunday morning 11/29/20. We were there at 8:30 am. As soon as I walked in I noticed three people at the registers were not wearing a mask or had them covering just their mouths. If the store employees aren't following the cdc guidelines for covid I personally feel that store should be fined. I will not shop there again and I will notify the state as to their lack of following guidelines. read more

I absolutely love Lowe's!! This Lowe's is amazing!!! The garden center is so clean it's crazy! Everything was all set up for Fall and looked so gorgeous! I walked around for a good 10 minutes trying to find weed blocker and finally a sales person actually walked me right to where it was.. Bought two new bushes for my yard..and they're gorgeous. I usually only buy plants from a landscaping place..but, these were absolutely amazing! Love this place and definitely will return! read more

On tax-free weekend I ordered an electric dryer online . . . to be delivered and removal of the old one. I was still printing out the confirmation when my phone rang. They were out of stock but expected more in within a week. They delivered (actually it was "Home Delivery Services, a separate company), set up and took the old one away . . . and they did it well within the time window (2 hours) that they gave me on the phone the day before. To make it better, their online price was $40-100 cheaper than all the other places I found online/stores in the greater Boston area. read more

(i'm half black) My boyfriend and i were looking around and him being a typical guy wanted to go look at the Tools and didn't know what he wanted so we were looking around a lot and going back and fourth and a lowe's employee was constantly following us around and made a call to someone and then came over to where we were again and was just looking at us and then had told us that he was going to walk us up to the register when we were ready to check out.... LET ME REPEAT that . HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO WALK WITH US TO CHECK OUT !!!!!! After he did he went into the open door room where all the cameras are and the other employee in there looked at my boyfriend and i and they both pointed at us . Just terrible. I had a problem with a chainsaw I bought from here. I purchased the protection plan from Lowe's and the protection people wouldn't honor the plan because they claim the chainsaw was abused. I only use the saw for cutting firewood that is already on the ground. It started over heating then the clutch froze up. After talking to the manager at this Lowe's he made it right and gave me a new saw. If it wasn't for this I would probably never buy another product at Lowe's. read more

Here is a fun game to play at the Plainville Lowes - walk around and count how many employees you can walk by without them asking you if you need any help...the next best one is to count how many look important speed walking right by you or talking in groups. This is on top of the lack of knowledge of where anything is or how to find it without pointing you in a direction that it might be and then quickly walking the other way never to be seen again. Stick with local hardware stores where they know what they sell and help you resolve what you need...and to the Lowe's employee, Behr is a Home Depot product, but was fun watching you try to order it online for me... read more

I tried to return a Weed Trimmer without a receipt. It had Obviously been used & returned before. The oil tank was covered in oil yet the Oil that comes with it was unopened. & the gas tank smelled of gas. It must have been returned, cleaned up & put back in the box. Once I saw that, I Never even finished putting it together. I boxed it up & brought it back. Unfortunately I had paid cash & they said since it was power equipment, there was nothing they could do. Lowes of Plainville confirmed an appliance delivery for this morning between 7:30am and 9:30am. I took the time off from work to meet them here. It is now 10:30, I have spent one hour on the phone with Lowes and the delivery company, and they still cannot tell me if the product is actually on a truck to be delivered, and what time it may or may not be delivered. I wonder how the store manager would react if an associate said they would be into work at 10:30 and never showed up due to a botched delivery. read more

Garden Center has the biggest JERKS on the planet. Rude, absolutely should be fired. Twice I have tried to go to this store, they showed 500+ bags of a fertilizer. I get there and they have none, the guy says sorry and I ask him, he says he doesn't know, Then I spot 4 pallets up on the elves. I tell him and he takes 45 minutes to get them down and has a bad attitude the whole time. The second time, same deal, they says 20 of something online, I get there. We are frequent visitors of the Plainville store because of the close proximity to Wrentham. Usually we have great experiences with the staff and the facility but on my recent visit to the store on Tuesday, May 1st, the women's bathroom definitely needed attention. A couple weeks ago, there was a guy who was very polite and was cleaning the bathroom before we went inside; I think his name was O'neil. He did an amazing job; is he no longer with Lowe's? If not, you guys need to get some help. read more

Virtually everyone I've asked for help - and it was more than just "what aisle is x,y.z in?" - provided truly valuable information and assistance on mulitple occasions. Excellent customer service is rare these days and this store and it's staff was phenomenal. I went in on Wednesday with a venetian blind that needed repair and I expected to be told that I needed to purchase a whole new one. I was delighted when I pressed the call button for help and the gentleman was there in a few seconds. He assessed my blind and took great care and about 10 minutes restringing the broken cord and restringing it to see if he could make it work again. He was patient and got it attached again. I will probably need to buy a new one eventually, and will get it from Lowe's. While the blind was under the knife another member of the staff came over and entertained my fussing twins in their stroller. That was very sweet. After that I needed to find another item in the store and was asked if I needed help before I even asked. I didn't have to search for someone. I had a nice experience with the person in the next department with a floor register issue. He was very knowledgeable and steered me in the right direction. On my way out to my car the person that asked if I needed help finding something asked how I made out. That was very friendly and I appreciated the thoughtfulness and interest. Overall my experience was terrific. I will now drive 15 minutes out of my way to visit this store even though Home Depot is 10 minutes closer! read more

Polite staff and that is the only good thing I have to say. They sell mostly garbage products to stay competitive with the Home Depot. In my opinion it's an insult to the consumer taking brand names and forcing them to degrade their quality (garbage products) just to make a dollar. Examples are the "Pella" vinyl windows that were considered the biggest piece of garbage both under their current name and their former name and most of the tool department. I feel sorry for the employees that have to pretend like they are selling a good product. read more
