How does this joke of an establishment stay in business? Terrible customer service (as someone else mentioned, you have to practically run down and tackle or lasso employees to beg them for help). They don't answer the phone. There is never any follow up, no matter what they promise. And God help you if you order any large item online. No follow up. No information. When the item arrived late, although I had been begging for shipping information, it was too late, as I had ordered the same item elsewhere. Now, Lowe's/their credit card company, Synchrony, is harassing me 2 - 3 times a day via email and phone calls to pay for something I refused and sent back. I bought a 3500 dollar refrigerator. Was told it would be delivered in a week. Got a call a couple of days later and was told it was delayed for a month. Delivery day came and I was forced to stay home all day waiting for a delivery between 11 and 3:30. It's now 5:40 I have made calls to the store I bought from and told they are not responsible for it a subcontractor delivery company is who I need to deal with. That company doesn't answer phones and their recordings hang up on you. When I call the store back I got a snooty associate that gave me the it's not our responsibility and when I asked for a manager she had the nerve to tell me why they'll just tell you the same thing. I have made 5 phone calls over the last 45 min and it appears it was never loaded on a truck for delivery and I can't get an answer as to why. I never was aloud to talk to a manager just was able to leave a message for them to call me back. This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen. Update finally at 7:15 pm I got a call from the delivery company. It seems they can't find our refrigerator in the facility. Then thought it was ok to tell me we have to reorder it and it wouldn't be in until October. I canceled the order and I will never return to Lowels. read more

If I could give a zero I would which is sad. Prior to this I would have given a 5 because I've been a loyal customer since 2003 in the Ormond Beach store buying ALl of my appliances and home improvement needs here with great results. This time I ordered a dishwasher online to include parts and delivery and installation. Once it arrived the installers delivered it and it was very dented so they took it back. Ok Jo problem. When the replacement came in I was notified. The install company made an appointment then we're a no show and no call from the installers (another day wasted). Called the installers and they said dishwasher hasn't arrived. Went to Lowe's and in fact it was there. Lowe's said the installer was just being lazy that day and assured me the installers will catch it the next day. Late the next day I called the installer and they said someone will call me to reschedule. A few days went by and nothing. So I called Ormond Lowe's and asked to have the manager call me and get this straightened out. The dishwasher has a note customer pickup (the re-order screwed up by kit attaching the delivery/install. Finally the installers rescheduled for a week and a half later. I called Lowe's and said be sure not to send in back or sell it because it's sitting there for so long. Yesterday (3rd day of waiting all day) I waited again and the installer was a no show and was closed Saturday afternoon for calls. I didn't get a reschedule or cancellation call. These people both Lowe's management and Crume installation are idiots. I don't know what it's going to take to make an appointment and actually KEEP the installation appointment. I paid Lowes for the delivery and install. I hold them responsible. They don't exactly follow up on a dishwasher just sitting there for a few weeks either. read more

Lowes has always been our go-to. We're huge DIY'ers and spend a lot of time there. Laying carpet isn't in our wheelhouse so when we needed to replace a carpet, they were our first choice. Our project was a small bedroom and we chose a patterned style carpet. When our estimate came in requiring 288 sq. ft. for a 160 sq. ft. room, we went in to seek clarity. Our salesperson said that because it is a patterned carpet, the overage was required to pattern-match at the seam. We didn't particularly like the idea, but decided to go ahead with the purchase. On install day (a day after our scheduled install, with no phone call to let us know they weren't coming - another story) I anticipated that there would be a large amount left over, but I wasn't prepared to find that there was no need for a seam, that the large amount of overage that they told us was necessary, was not. After many calls to the store and the install team, I was assured that it would be investigated. That was around 7/12. Yesterday, without notice, a Lowes truck showed up to pick up the carpet. Foolishly, I assumed that a refund would be forthcoming. Unable to get anyone on the phone at the Ormond store, I called the install team today to check the status of our situation. I have been told that what is left over cannot be refunded because it is *waste* and unsellable. We did our due diligence in asking why we had to purchase so much more than our square footage before scheduling and believed their "experts". Now, not only did we pay for carpet we didn't need, they took it away. read more

I do this for a living and visit the store one to two times per day six days per week and encounter 90% of their staff is miserable unhelpful and nasty! Yesterday, I purchased a big order of building materials from the Lowes Store in Ormond Beach. At the register, after I run my card and it clearly stated that it is approved, the system had a glitch and the cashier could not issue me a receipt. Her name is Bridget and she is fully aware of the situation. She called IT and they told her to run my card again. I told them that on my statement, it clearly reflects that I had already been charged, but they told me that since in their system, the charge does not reflect, they need to run it again After I checked my debit statement, the amount had been subtracted twice, this is a total over $4,300 mind you and I had to do other purchases that day in order to begin construction. This put me close to my $5,000 limit, which delayed my whole process. They advised me that I call my bank so they can reverse the first charge. I called my bank, waited for over half an hour to get on the phone with someone and after being passed to a manager, they told me that they only way the can reverse the charge immediately is by your store sending them a fax explaining, what happened. So, I called the store and relayed this information to the Assistant Manager, David, told me that because the transaction does not reflect twice in his system he refused to do that. Moreover, corporate told him to refuse. I asked for the number of Corporate and I spoke with a very nice customer service agent, who told me to email with my backup proof that I was charged twice and then immediately, they will send a fax. It has now been two days without a resolution. I was told that Customer Service will immediately confirm the receipt and then contact me about the matter. There is still not a peep from Customer Service and I am stuck with a double charge. I am very disappointed with my first experience dealing with your store. I have now wasted many hours trying to fix this. I run a not for profit organization and you have really inconvenienced me and caused me a lot of unnecessary stress. I was told by the employees that these glitches happen at least once a week and the system was supposed to be corrected three years ago and still it has not been. I spend over $2,000 in the store and ended up being punished because, they have glitchy systems and obviously untrained employees. Unacceptable. read more

This has proven to be a poorly organized and poorly staffed Lowes. The paint department often takes 20 min + just to get your paint mixed. This ormond store is very, very convenient for me and my wife who have shopped there for 15 years. We rehab houses. This store is an impediment to our progress. Customer service is poor (1 star; they make you feel like a criminal). Ask Armondo to explain the new, restrictive return policy and he will refer you to corporate? He works as a Store Manager and expects the customer to follow-up with corporate policy? Really? Well, I am doing just that, through this review. The employees tend to avoid loading or off-loading product from shelf to customer cart and many of these same employees lack knowledge and lack effort. That said, Don, in plumbing is superb. Mordecai, in doors, understands customer service and effort. My wife tells me Steve, at the Pro Desk, is exceptional and, I can attest to one cashier at the Pro Desk, a female cashier (name escapes me) who is also super, high-energy, competent and actually offers to help! There is a young lot attendant, a relatively new hire (for ID purposes, he is a black man about 130 lbs) and the paint department personnel, in general, are good to better than all other departments. That being said, most other employees are lazy at best; that would be the other 80%+ of the store personnel. It is too bad that there is so little competition in the immediate area for Lowe's to up their game but, this store has an exceptional track record for the last 15 years, exceptionally poor that is! I went to Lowe's (Ormond Beach) this morning and had the following experience: I had a question about a hammer drill, so I went up to J***** (a white male) who was in the tools department (aisle 70) and asked "Is this model good to drill holes in concrete?". He shook his head to say "no" followed by "Do you understand "good" English?". I was taken aback because I was already conversing with him in English to which he had responded and also because "Do you understand "good" English?" is not a normal response to any question. By the way, I am brown. So, confused by his question and also maintaining my cool, I said "Yes" and he went on to give me additional information in a condescending manner (as if I were an idiot who can't comprehend). What made the experience even more surreal is that his sentences were grammatically and syntactically incorrect. I browsed through the drill section for a few minutes after that (still confused and offended), picked out one I liked, but could not get myself to buy it because of my interaction with the racist Lowe's associate. I left it there, came back home and purchased it online from another store. Another reason to not shop at a brick and mortar. The staff at Lowes in Ormond Beach Florida are nice hard working people. The problem is they are grossly under-staffed. When you call Lowe's you get hung up one or busy signal and have to call 6 or 8 times before anyone picks up. I placed two separate order for later pick up. The day before pick up I called to conform my flooring pre-purchase and time. When my contractor went to pick up the orders it took hours for Lowes to find the order costing me money and lost time. They also gave me the wrong color flooring and other mismatched pieces. The management if so over worked they can't handle customer complaints. I visited Lowes on Granada and the first thing I noticed was most of the employees had on masks. On closer look, I noticed several of them wore them under their nose or below their mouth. I went to the flooring department and placed a very large order for vinyl planks. The salesman, David, told me if I open a Lowes account I would save 10% off my entire first purchase. Since my order was almost $6000.00, I decided to open an account. The application was taking quite awhile so he even suggested I go shopping so I could save even more while he finished up. When I got to the cashier she told me there was a $100 cap on the savings, not the entire first purchase that David told me. So, not only was David comfortable wearing his mask below his nose, he was very comfortable lying straight to my face to get me to open an account. I was not happy with the shopping cart collector Morris, he assumed my 4 year old had thrown a red bull can on the ground and informed me that there was a trash can right there as I was walking away. First of all no good parent lets their child drink Red Bull, secondly there was trash in front of the store before we even walked up and my little guy happened to step on the can and lowes and Morris should be thankful he didn't cut his foot and third and final if you want to make a comment to someone while they are at your place of work be professional, don't make it as the customer is walking in to buy products from your employer. In addition it was exremly unprofessional of this employee to approach me again while I was waiting for a manager and try to get me to complain to another employee and he went one step farther and said I want to be present when he talks to them. I've been without my dryer since the 15th of March. I bought it brand new 1 year ago. I bought the extended warranty to go with it. Almost 2,000$. I've had a guy come out and put a part in then he said " I gotta order another part I'll be back." No one has called me back after 10 days so I finally called yesterday. Stores wonder why they are going out of business and can't compete with Amazon. Here is why. I needed to get some grease for my John Deere mower. The manual say to use John Deere brand grease or you may void the warranty. So I go to Lowes, which carries John Deere mowers. I am looking for this grease in the mower section, I see John Deere brand oil, John Deere brand belt dressing, John Deere brand filters, but no grease. A Lowes employee walks by and ask if they can help me. I said yes, and asked about the grease. After looking where I looked they went to the desk and started typing in the computer. I waited thinking they were looking up the inventory in the store and would be able to tell me where to find it. After a couple minutes the lady informs me she googled it and it is available from Amazon. Thanks Lowes for all the help. An extremely rude female employee (didn't get name) at the customer service counter screamed at me and told me get out of the store. I was a little dumbfounded because I didn't know she was talking to me or not. I told her I had a propane exchange and she literally screamed at me to "get the hell out of the store with that propane tank", exact words. Talk about overkill. I explained to her that there was no one out front to help me. I had been standing out there for over 20 minutes and that the only reason why I came inside was because I wasn't being helped. Yes there were plenty employees around, however they all looked to be in a very bad moods and were avoiding customers at all costs, including an employee that was standing right next to me. No offer of help, nothing, nada. I told her that if that's how she wants to treat customers, I'll take my business elsewhere, which I did. She didn't seem to care because she didn't say anything. As I was getting into my truck to leave a man approached me claiming to be an past customer service manager and that he overheard what happened. He practically begged me to call the 800-number because that kind of thing happens at that store all the time. I agreed with him, but I'm not one to call 800 numbers either. I'll just never be back to that store ever again. I go to the Lowe's store in nearby Port Orange all the time and have no problems. (actually that store was smart enough to store the propane tanks in the landscape department outside, so it's not at the front of the building) Needless to say, I will never be back to the Ormond store ever again. I did not say anything to the store manager because I didn't have time. I don't think that would've made a difference anyway, bad customer service is a result of bad management in my book. Great service & selection. I do many of my own renovation projects and purchase a large amount of materials from this Lowes. The store is always well organized and clean. If you need help finding an item or need to special order something it is always an easy thing to do. The self check out area is always super quick and easy to check out of for smaller orders. Beyond the worst Lowe's ever. I think the Hickory NC Lowe's on 127 is pretty good. Now I think they are a rock star. The Lowe's here in Ormond Beach. Is horrible. Alice is very rude, not helpful and she is in customer service. I went to pick something up several house after receiving an email it was 'ready'. I had three additional items (a bundle of wood and some enviro logs) for the fire pit. She told me she could not ring those up. Customer pickup has always been able to ring up items so this was purely a lie and no one was in line. Alice has a sharpie name tag so she must be seasonal help and a LIAR. After 30 minutes and food getting cold I ask Alice again where the item is, she looks over at a stock guy who says 'Eh, I looked amd it wasn't in comstock (no idea what that is) then finally he offers it is stored overhead so he 'asked someone to get a forklift) and I guess let him know 'tomorrow' once they got it down. Really??? So after raising my voice and octave and telling the customer service folks this was ridiculous someone named 'Susan' also with a sharpie name tag went to 'go look' and lo and behold she walked back with it. So either she is a fast forklift operator or 2 people were caught lazy and lying. I will try to avoid this Lowe's in the future at all costs. Unreliable un dependable and dishonest. I went to Lowes on Monday to order 100 bags of pea rock. After waiting for 30 minutes at customer service I was finally able to place the order. I was told they would deliver it on Friday. The delivery charge was $79.00. They told me I would receive a phone call between 8 and 10 am to give me a 2 hour window for delivery. The call never came. At 11 am I called the store and was told the truck had mechanical problems the previous day and they would be late. I called back at 1:30 and was told the truck was loaded and the would deliver soon. At 3:00 pm I called back to speak to a manager. I was told that I was now 5th on the list for delivery and it would come at around 6 pm. They said they would waive the delivery charge. Small consolation for having to kill an entire day. I'm frustrated and still waiting for the delivery. read more

And, twice, within hours of delivery, they e-mail me to tell me they are delayed two more weeks. Nobody could pick up the phone and call me???? Nobody followed up on this several days ago to see if it was in transit to them???? I paid nearly 10k for appliances they I have yet to see! When I called the store, the girl told me I was free to cancel. Terrible communication and customer service could care less if you are a customer or not. Next time, I'll spend my money on Home Depot.
