I placed an online order for in-store pick-up, expecting to be able to pick it up the next day. It was only four small items that were in stock. When I called the next day, I was rudely informed by their Customer dis-Service representative that it would take 48 hours, according to store policy. There was no mention of that policy when ordering. Two weeks ago, I placed a large online order with Home Depot one afternoon, and it was ready for pick-up the next morning. IMHO, Lowe's is losing the competition with Home Depot and should reassess their approach to customer service. read more

What a disaster I had. Went to the store, selected sink, faucet set, took pics with me of my bathroom, they looked at the picks, they looked at my measurements and said yeah, this'll work. Had to go to the store 3 more times to get the work order "straightened" out. Then on install, which was to be done in 3 days, was done 3 weeks later. Then during install the contractor who was great with the install, decided to take my new decorative towel off the display and use it to clean up the floor from the water and caulk and stuff from the drain after removing the old sink. Then, he proceeded to drown my dark brown towel into a bucket of clorox there to clean the floor afterward. I just can't see using this Lowe's again for any home improvement. read more

Rotten service all around. I used to brag on how great this store was, but they've lost their way. I went shopping for a hot water heater and despite 4 people in and around the area, no one offered help. I called the manager the next day to share what happened. Despite all of this I remained loyal and had them dispatch someone to bid the installation of a new hot water heater. Following the visit I was told I would have a bid in 1.5 hours. That was 10 days ago and I have never received a bid. When I called today to get a refund of $35 for the bid there was no apology for the poor service. This Lowe's will not receive any more of my business. What a shame they don't care about their service reputation. Shop local instead; there are a lot of talented small businesses who care. read more

Purchased Weber gas grill on line with free assembly and delivery. It was delivered and several parts were missing. Went to Lowe's and picked up the parts but the second and third burners would not ignite. Called and had another grill delivered. The third burner on the second grill would not ignite. Went to Lowe's store and spoke to the manager of the grill department (Jason). After explaining the issues he stated that it was something he could fix in 5 minutes. I gave him my phone number and address and he stated he would come by my house in a few hours and fix the problem. He never showed up or had the courtesy to call. Went back to Lowe's the next day and after talking with 2 supposedly store managers I finally spoke to a nice gentleman named Kevin in the grill department. He was very customer friendly and delivered me another grill in his personal truck and picked up the second grill. He stayed to make sure the grill he delivered worked properly, which it did. The first two grills were obviously not assembled correctly, especially since the first one was missing parts. Kudos to Kevin!---he is the one that should be the store manager. The store managers that I dealt with along with Jason were of no help at all. If it had not been for Kevin I would not have received any help in resolving this problem. I did find out that a third party assembles the grills for Lowe's. It is quiet obvious they don't really know how or don't care. I will never purchase a grill from Lowe's again. read more

I ordered something online for store pickup. After receiving email confirmation that item was at pickup desk, my daughter-in-law went to pick it up. No one was at the desk. She waited 5 min. Then went to customer service. CS pages someone for the online desk and she went back to the desk waiting 10 min. No one showed. She returned to the CS desk. They paged again and she returned to the pick up desk after 5 more minutes no one showed. I tried calling the store 3x and what a mess. When someone finally answered, she took my confirmation number. I waited on hold 8 minutes and gave up. I called Corporate Customer Service and asked to speak to the district manager I again waited 8 minutes on hold. (After8 min. I generally don't keep holding). This store and the GM seem to be a train wreck. read more

Great summer lawn and patio furniture.

We go to Lowe's a lot cause it's close to home. We buy a lot of bird food here cause they have a better variety than HD. We buy a lot of drop in stuff like leaf bags, light bulbs. We recently bought blinds for our new windows. We ordered custom levoloer blinds for the 99 inch window. It came quickly and was perfect. We were able to get other custom cut ones of the same brand in the store and we love them. They were easy for Keith to install. read more

We placed an online order for paver stones on July 6th. Our delivery was rescheduled probably 8-10 times. We were never contacted via email, text or phone to advise the changes. Any time I called the store to ask about it, it took at least 15-20 minutes just to get someone to answer the phone. No one could tell me anything. I asked if the item was seasonal and maybe they just weren't getting more? They didn't know. I asked if it was discontinued or on back order? They didn't know. A couple weeks ago, we were contacted by the delivery company with an actual delivery window. It never showed up. I called the delivery service and they said when they came to get the stones, they were not available. Lowes was supposedly going to call us. They never did. So, I finally called the corporate number for help. They had the store manager call us to say it would definitely deliver August 11. Well, I got another call, OVER A MONTH SINCE THE ORDER WAS PLACED, saying the store had a -300 inventory on the stone and no other stores in the area had enough to transfer. I was asked if I wanted to pick another stone. I just told them to cancel the order. I will pick another stone from another company. Lowe's lost almost $1000 order and won't be getting any further business from my family. read more

On 11/14/2017 I bought an Kitchenaid icemaker from Lowe's, and the delivery date was to be November 24th, but it did not come in and they did deliver it on December 2nd. OK, I didn't have it for the party that I had planned, but I made it without the ice maker. Today December the 9th my plumber came to install the ice maker, but it requires a reservoir drain pump, and it did not come with one. I had to buy that separate, but no one at Lowe's told me that I needed to order it. (They said that when they looked it up on the computer that Kitchenaid did not tell them that it came separate). I went back today to get one, and Lowe's does not even sell them. They tried to help, but could not order one today. I came home; found one online; ordered it, and it will be another week (at least) before it arrives. April did all that she could to help, but Lowe's had her hand tired. It was poor service, and I will find it hard to go back to them. A better solution for me would have been to just order it online, save a few bucks, and solve the problem when my plumber came. Ice Maker Installation Instructions from KitchenAid: IMPORTANT: A drain pump is necessary when a floor drain is not available. A Drain Pump kit, Part Number 1901A, is available for purchase. That part number is not compatible with my model number, and KitchenAid does not even sale the pump. It is a Whirlpool product. Who would have thought that buying an ice maker could be so frustrating? I will win the battle. read more

And if you need wood cut, head another direction cause apparently electricians are striking in Memphis cause it's been a month and still no operating saws. Customer Complaint - December 8, 2015 Location: 585 North Perkins Road, Memphis, TN 38122 Department: Flooring I am writing to complain about the extremely poor customer service I recently experienced @ the Lowe's store referenced above. On Sunday, November 29th, my partner (Michael) and I made a special trip to Lowe's to select and purchase for installation approximately 1,200 sq. feet of carpeting for our home in East Memphis. The salesperson on that date was flooring Sales Specialist Paul. At the time, we selected a carpet and color, along with a pad. Paul took our information and scheduled an in-home measurement. On approximately Tuesday November 3rd or Wednesday November 4th, the area in our home was measured (1,062 sq. feet - this did not include the stairs which we thought we would leave uncarpeted; later, I measured the stairs and notified Lowe's of those measurements; the total area to be carpeted thereafter was 1,206 sq. feet). After the measurements were taken, I was called by Anthony from the Perkins Road Lowe's flooring department about a contract; however, he did not know the carpet we'd selected or the color. Paul Paddock, apparently, had failed to include that information so we were required to return to Lowe's to re-select the carpet and color. We spoke with the Flooring Department manager, Miles. At that time, he figured the cost of the entire job @ 1,206 sq. feet (the price was some $500.00 greater than the original rough estimate that was based on 1,200 sq. feet - a portion of that increase was due to a $0.20 difference due to our desire to have an upgrade in the carpet). I asked Miles if we got a better estimate for the same / equivalent carpet, would Lowe's match it - he said "Yes". We then went to a local carpet outlet and had a re-measurement (again, 1,206 sq. feet) and got a quote that was $232.00 +/- lower than Lowe's. (in between that time, we had to make another trip to Lowe's because the contract had not been completed correctly - that was our third trip). Yesterday, December 7th, I returned to Lowe's to compare the two quotes and see if Lowe's could match or beat the other quote. When I got to Lowe's, there was nobody present in Flooring so I started looking for a salesperson. Eventually, I found Anthony in one of the aisles - he was pushing a cart and pulling things off the shelf. I explained most of the above to him and asked to speak with Paul (he was off); I then asked to speak with Miles (he was off); so, I then asked Anthony if he could help me and he said, "Yes, in 30 or 45 minutes; I am filling two orders now". I looked around and didn't see any customers that Anthony might be helping, and being frustrated already because this was my fourth trip to Lowe's when purchasing carpet should only have taken two trips maximum, I said, "where do I find the store manager?". Anthony said, "up front @ Customer Service". I went to Customer Service and asked to speak with the store manager; an Assistant Manager told me he was out but that he'd be glad to help me. I explained the above and he apologized - he then contacted Carl, the manager in Appliances (the former Flooring Department manager I was told) who heard me out and determined that he could figure the difference between the two quotes. He worked on that for about one-half hour and finally came up with a "solution". Because the original order had been put into the system ("invoiced") he said he could only place the difference on a Lowe's gift card and asked if that would be acceptable to me. It was not - that would force me to take my "savings" on the deal and use them only at Lowe's. Carl then went to the front of the store to speak with a manager; when he returned 20 minutes later, he had a "solution". He then took me back to Flooring and told me Anthony would be "right back" to finish the process. I waited for Anthony another 15 minutes or so. When he returned, Anthony said nothing to me but, rather, went to a computer and started entering data, etc. For the next 30 minutes or so, Anthony worked at the computer and totally ignored me (he did speak briefly with other customers who approached him). Eventually, Carl returned and spoke with Anthony. He then told me, "We're close - just $3 off; would that be OK?" I thought about it and to myself I said, "close is not matching or beating the other quote", but not wanting to press the point, I told Carl, "Sure". After that, Anthony brought the new quote/contract over to where I was seated at a table. He laid the contract in front of me and put a pen on top of it and said, "you need to initial here on the "arbitration clause" and then sign it", and walked back to the computer. I was fairly stunned (as I was that he'd not once acknowledged me in the 30+ minutes that I was sitting or standing or pacing in front of him). Terrible customer service. They shipped me the wrong product then when I brought it to the store they would only reimburse me for the product and not shipping unless I shipped it back myself. Okay this is a big box store so you'd expect just help getting items that you have picked out . Not creative suggestions,not design suggestions, but just help purchasing an item. That's right just place an order for a bathroom cabinet. That's it. Nothing special my wife had picked it out we were needing help purchasing. There was a call button to push which we did after asking multiple employees for help. I understand that not all employees at Lowe's can help with purchasing an item that is in a different department but surely someone could at least notify an employee who could. Also the store was not crowded . There were multiple employees that we kindly asked for help but all we got a suggestion to push a button at the desk at the kitchen design area. The button worked magnificently! The intercom squealed help in the design area . I'll give them credit for a good PA system. Totally worthless but it was the only thing that was working at this Lowe's. read more

Carl in appliances was helpful. When i got home I attempted to reach him back due to remembering something I forgot to request on the dryer. I needed to make sure the door on the dryer was reversed from floor model to have the hinges on the left side due to location since in the house it will be on the left of the washer and I do not want to have to lift up over the dryer door with in being in the way if hinges remain on the right. He stated he would go in and add a note, really busy at current time. He took my number to go in soon and put note in. Also he stated my receipt would have information about the delivery and there would be a number on it to call if something came up and the date and time needed to be reschedule. There is not such information on the receipt. Other than the receipt not having the delivery information on it my biggest complaint was the effort it took calling back in, no one was answering in appliances and the number x 3 kept getting transferred to people who would say, I can not transfer you to that dept you will have to call back in. That was extremely irritating after dropping a purchase of over 1000.00. I do feel it was possibly a lack of staff rather than incompetence, but I wanted to share my experience. Now if there is a hiccup in the delivery I will be back on here for sure. I believe the consumer base is getting really sick of the service level that occurs these days, not just at lowe's, but in many places now. On the morning of February 17, 2014, my husband's trailer was stolen from the Lowe's Contractor pick-up area parking lot on Summer Avenue in Memphis, TN. Although the Lowe's loss prevention employees caught the burglar on camera, they made absolutely no attempt to call the police! Even after the same man had attempted to shoplift from their own store!! No attempt was made by Lowe's to call security or to react in any time to prevent the property loss. As a contractor, my husband has been a loyal customer of Lowe's for many years, but nothing was done to prevent this despicable act. I bought an appliance from this store and was told they would take away the old one when the new one was delivered. It was taken all the way to my curb and dumped. Although a store manager sent the delivery men back out to get the old one from the curb after I complained, I can't help but wonder why they thought it was ok to do that in the first place.
