I would have loved to use the self checkout but I had two manufacturers coupons and there was no way to use them at self checkout. The associates I asked up front had no idea and I told them that I would find out. Had to go to a regular register and employee had to enter the discounted price of the items manually. 15 months ago we purchased a 24 volt string trimmer. Model KMH 1024-03. We picked a light weight model as it is easier to use for 70+ year old folks like us. Additionally, we picked one that I could purchase a new spool of string when the original spool ran out. Well, I went back and Lowe's no longer supports this model. We can no longer get replacement spools. Instead we were referred to their corporate customer service and told that we would need to purchase a whole new assembly. This would cost a lot more money than just a spool, and there was no guarantee that it would be fit and work. My words of wisdom to folks considering purchasing Lowe's Kobalt brand, be prepared for disappointment. This is too bad. It will be awhile before I go back. We purchased a clothes washer from Loewes in Kingston, NY. It was supposed to be "delivered and installed " We delivery people put it in place and were about to leave. We asked them to level the machine. They said it didn't need to be leveled. The sales person, when contacted, said it did not need to be leveled. The incompetence of this store and their delivery service is incomprehensible. Initially being told delivery time would be between 8:30 am and 12:30 pm. Received a call from their driver (M Rosado) that he was on his way and when offering directions or landmarks be brushed me off indicating he didn't even know where he was..several hours and phone calls later and no delivery later with attitude from driver. Worst customer service ever! We will never shop there ever AGAIN! My husband and I purchased a brand new freezer to be delivered. We waited over a week, just so they could deliver a floor sample! I spoke with a customer representative and she said that I had to wait for another week. I told her that I am not waiting for another week for a freezer and that I need to speak with a manager. I was put through with the associate manager who claimed that there's a note in the purchase that stated that I wanted to pay full price for a floor sample. Have you ever! I told her this was an online purchase, you sold me a floor sample. She made no apology. I was done at this point. My husband wanted to give them a chance to make things right. The associate manager stated that We had to purchase a bigger freezer and paid the difference if we want an earlier delivery because they don't have the one we want at the store. Fine, we did. Paid the difference over the phone with the associate manager. Monday comes, which is the day they supposed to deliver my freezer and I called the store for a confirmation and time frame, I spoke with the delivery manager who stated that the freezer is sitting in lumber and it's not scheduled to be delivered. I am speechless. I feel insulted. This is so unprofessional. I am on the phone with everyone, delivery, including corporate but the associate manager. She does not have to worry about me, because I am done with Lowe's! They must have a good job security policy. To behave in such manner, be so unprofessional and treat customer with such disrespect and still have a job, must be pretty damn good. Customers have choices. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE...AVOID AT ALL COSTS! 2.5 hours on the phone today holding and having there system drop calls when being transferred. Customer service desk just picks up and puts you on hold for a minimum of 6 minutes before transferring again. Ask for a manager...good luck. The staff are terrible. They are ill informed on products and can offer little assistance. When you question them or ask them to further elaborate, they become agitated and aggressive. I have had to correct numerous employees on products. I have gone home with wrong items due to their incompetence. Two negative experiences in 3 days. I bought a gallon of paint from them, and the lid wasn't put on when I took it home. Because of that, it spilled all over my NEW carpet. When I went back the next morning to see if they'd at least replace the gallon of paint, after spending the entire night trying to save my carpet and spending almost $100 on renting a rug doctor and cleaning supplies, plus ruining every towel I own trying to get all of the paint out of my carpet, they're only response was oh that's too bad, we can try to color match it for you but it might not be the same color. (This because I threw the paint can lid away along with the paint covering it while cleaning it up, and the paint can lid no longer showed the exact color) So on top of having to buy the same paint TWICE because of their screw up, and having to pay way too much to get my carpet cleaned at 8 pm on a Friday night, they basically didn't care. When I called corporate to mention what had happened, so they could express to the team members that maybe a jot more empathy would be useful when a customer is explaining that their mistake just cost them a couple hundred dollars, they person I spoke to on the phone was awesome, and reassured me someone would contact me back on Monday from the store. Surprise, that didn't happen and I doubt it will. My second negative experience- I bought a faucet for my shower. I gave them our mylowes number at checkout, just like I ALWAYS do because it qualifies for a 10% discount and if it's over $100 I'm not going to pass that up. We were told that as long as we bought an item with the mylowes number, we could do exchanges or returns without a receipt because the items were saved under the mylowes number. Well, I tried it. And shockingly, they refused to even give me a store card for the cost so I could purchase the proper faucet. They're claiming that for some reason it didn't get put on the mylowes number. Bull. I never forget to give that number. We've spent over $25k in the past year here because we're rebuilding after a house fire. Not one time did I forget to give them that number because at those costs, the 10% seriously adds up. My trip today was to exchange the faucet for the right one, purchase the craftsman gas power washer, and purchase a few gallons of paint for our new siding. I'm leaving with nothing except a useless faucet, and going to Home Depot instead. Which is unfortunate since I prefer Lowe's paint. I guess I could drive to Middletown to purchase my items from that Lowes store. read more

While Lowe's flooring and countertops reps were knowledgeable and helpful, the rest of the operation is so Mickey Mouse that we will never deal with them again. We spent roughly $8,000 on wood laminate and carpeting for our new house. Imagine our surprise when we were told we had to pick up the laminate ourselves or they would deliver it for $75! We picked up 36 packages of laminate, brought it home and hauled it into the kitchen, where it formed an island. Then the waiting began. After several weeks of walking around the pile of laminate, we finally got a call saying that the flooring would be installed the following week, although we weren't given a specific day. I called Lowe's four times the following Wednesday to find out if the installers would be here Thursday or Friday. Once I was transferred to the installation department, where someone picked up the phone, said something unintelligible, then immediately put me on hold. Five minutes later, I was cut off. At last someone in customer service (a joke at Lowe's) answered a call and could not find the installation people. She said someone would call me. Two hours later, I called again and was told that the person she couldn't find before did call me. I never received a call and it wasn't listed on my phone. Apparently, they called my old Florida number, although I have no idea how they got it. Today, I called again, and was told by the person who answered the phone that her attempt to call the installer met with voice mail. She promised to call me back, which is when I found they had the old, disconnected number rather than the number we gave them when we paid for the flooring. I think it's appalling that you can spend thousands for flooring at Lowe's and then get nickeled and dimed for delivery. It's equally appalling that you have to jump through countless hoops to get information that should have been provided quickly and without us having to seek it out. We've stopped using Lowe's and switched to Home Depot. Great service, great communication and great customer service. They now have our business. Lowe's never will again. read more

Ordered a door. Told 2 weeks. Call two days before it was supposed to arrive and told 3 more weeks. Called again two days before I was told it was going to arrive and told it was delayed again. They weren't very sympathetic to the problems it was going to cause (and it did have financial repercussions for me) nor did they seem like they were going to call me and tell me about the delay nor did they call the vendor and apply any pressure (and I'm sure they have some leeway there). So I was pissed off - in my experience the smaller businesses in the area (e.g. Luhr's) take more of an interest in trying to rectify things when they are going wrong. But... I purchased the door and Lowes subcontracted the installer for me. The installer did a great job. He even came by on Father's day to do the install because the first couple of appointments were rained out. He had great attention to detail - did a very professional job with exceptional craftsmanship. So, that part of the job really worked out well and since I assume Lowe's has some role in filtering out bad contractors I'll give them some credit for it. Bottom Line: the ordering process left something to be desired but the installation was great. I realize that most of the time orders come in on time without a glitch but I don't really give Lowe's credit for that. I am looking at how they handle the situation when something goes WRONG - anyone looks good when things go right. read more

He actually admitted that he did not know anything in this field but did not try to get someone to help. Finally I found a lady that was suppose to know machines, the dope now tells her we 'ARE ONLY INTERESTED ON BOSCH MACHINES)' We reminded him NO NO, we don't want a Bosch. I asked one question to the SO CALLED EXPERT ON MACHINES, AND SHE QUOTED. READ THE INFORMATION ON THE PAPERS ON TOP OF EACH MACHINE. THEN ACTUALLY WALKED AWAY, NEVER SAW HER AGAIN......NOR WILL WE, Now the DOPE advises us to make up our minds because THE BOSCH WAS ON SALE AND IT ENDED TOMORROW. GOD HELP US. I bought some heat tape that must of been from china should have looked. But for the price you would have think it would at least work.I lost my reciept.It's been 3 days now i have no water in my camper.not to mention the hose/electrical tape/and covering it cost me alot of time.I am not a happy camper right now!!!!! I oredered a refrigerator and stove from Lowe's in Matamoras, PA back in February amongst many other things as we are redoing our home. Here it is June and we have had nothing but problems with the refrigerator, the doors were uneven so they came and changed one of them when they changed the one door the scratched the other. After changing the other door the doors are uneven, one sticks out further than the other. The refrigerator was not cheap either. When you spend that much money you want the product to be flawless. As of 2 months ago they were supposed to order a new one and change the whole thing. 5 months later and I am still sitting here with the same refrigerator. I get phone calls once in awhile asking if my "case" has been closed. I explain to the person then am told they will look into it and I will receive a phone call back shortly and never here anything. I'll call and they will say it will be in a certain day and I never hear anything once again. I am very disappointed after all the money I've spent in that store and will be taking my business elsewhere as we still are in the process of remodeling. read more
