If I could give it zero stars I would. There was a birdbath with two huge chunks missing in the garden center. I talked with garden center and they said most they could do was 10% but agreed the chunks were bad and 50% would be reasonable. They sent me to customer service. Only 10%. I pointed massive chunks at base gone. I told him garden center said ask for manager Allison who could override. He walkied her. She didn't even bother to come down. Left the poor kid at customer service kind of hanging not understanding her response. He finally asked the other woman at customer service about it, who earlier said they won't do more than 10% because they would just put it on the truck. Now she said the manager was saying the process was to send it to the back for mark down. It's a process she said. I said I am standing right here wanting to buy it. Are you saying you will send it out back and sell it to someone else for the discount? She said yes. I said why not sell it to me? She said not today. It's a process. I said your manager has the ability to override that. I ask the young man to get her back on the walkie and explain there were two large concrete chunks missing from the base and can she put in an override to bypass the process. He did and She answered "No". Honestly that is bad business practice. My Home depot never would have handled that situation like that. I frankly will never spend another dollar there after that. Couldn't even bother to come see the bird bath herself nor attempt to interact with a customer. I left the cart right there and told my husband we were done shopping today. We were actually there to order a large pallet of pavers and wood to build a pergola. I'll spend my money elsewhere. read more

They just lost thousands of dollars a year my business, because I will never shop there again. The customer service was horrible, I was going to return a Christmas gift, I asked if I was going to get a gift card and they told me they already refunded to the original card which was a person I don't know from a Christmas party. I told them to cancel the refund and I will just keep the saw. They told me they can't, because they can't cancel the refund even though I never signed the return receipt. So, I don't know how they processed the return. So, I had to leave with nothing. F that place!!!! read more

File this under you can't make this stuff up and we don't care. Went to Lowe's Kingston Ma last September to buy new interior door. Had to order door because of some custom details. Sales person Sarah was very good. The order process took sometime because of details we wanted. After getting it done we were told it would be at lest two months before door would be ready.  We decided to agree to wait. Got call in November that door would be delivered and installed the day after Thanksgiving. Installers came on Friday and immediately told us there was a slight problem with condition of door. We examined door and decided to reject it because it was damaged. I called Sarah to report problem. She said she looked at door before it went out for delivery and it was good. She would look at door when it was brought back to store and let me know what could be done. Two days later noticed my credit card showed installation charge. Called Sarah to find out status of door and to have charge refunded. She said they would be ordering a replacement door and could not refund charge. I asked about cancelling order. She said I would be charged a restocking fee. After lengthy discussion she said I can't talk to you anymore because I have a customer here. I reminder her that I am a customer.  Finally she said that she wouldn't deal with me anymore and would have her manager call me. Two days later manager Allison called and said install charge would be refunded and new door ordered.  Only 2/3's of charge was refunded and new delivery would be set up. There is so much more to this story but I'll just jump to the sad end. New delivery set up for February. The day of scheduled delivery I got call that new door had problem. At this point I said to cancel order and refund all charges. This was agreed to and money was refunded. Words cannot describe the levels of incompetency and complete lack of service in dealing with sales, the manger and installation service. I bought six bamboo shades from Lowe's in Kingston. I had a installer come here yesterday (5/4/23) with my shades. He picked them up at the store for me ( Lowes charged me $45.00for pick up @ store). I love to do project so I end up at Lowes often. I think it is nice to have such a large store and variety of products. I usually find everything I need for my project here. When I want something more unique or high end I tend to go elsewhere. My complaint and reason for 4 stars is all stores are understaffed and way under trained. The employee education programs should be expanded. I will continue to shop here but do hope at all locations you start to add more employee and consumer education to protect us do it yourselfers. Eh , I know it's a chain store , but this one leaves something to be desired . The garden section is slim pickings , and the staff don't seem particularly interested in good customer service. This was quite apparent yesterday when we were being checked out in the outdoor section, and another staff member came over loudly discussing staffing issues with our cashier as she was doing our transaction. We went to purchase a tank for our grill. We paid for it at the customer service desk and was directed to go to lawn and garden to get it. When we went to the garden center the associate at the register (Andrew) began yelling at me in a rude and agitated tone they had no more. When I began to explain that we were just charged for one, he cut me off-threw up his hands and said "not my problem". I went back to the desk for a refund and asked to speak to the manager. They left us standing there and a manager never came. We got home and try to call to be connected and we were hung up on multiple times. Worst retail experiences ever at this store. Consistently I have been given conflicting or incorrect information from employees. It's not just a one-time glitch, either, and it's what I've come to expect from this store. Over the past two years I've attempted to engage this store to complete five home improvement projects - flooring, plumbing, heating, appliances. Completed? One dishwasher purchase and install that left me with a dishwasher that can't clean the dishes and isn't worth running the water. Today I returned for what I promised myself would be my last try with this store. After walking around and around, up and down nearly every aisle and being ignored by every employee who couldn't run away from me, I went to Customer Service for assistance. Nice associate called back to one of the departments I'd just come from and found an associate to help me if I returned there. No one was there when I got there, but about 5 minutes later someone did wander by and said she was the one I was supposed to meet but she'd left to help someone else. No problem. I explained my project, we walked off to find the right department; she stopped and ran the project high points by someone who looked like a department manager; he gave her the a-ok and we continued on across the store to Pro Services. *Sigh* Four employees who never looked at me, certainly never spoke directly to me, and communicated only to the store associate who brought me there were now in charge of my successful purchase. Not a good feeling. Two of them insisted to her (while I stood in front of them) that "she wants a water heater" (meaning me! And I definitely did NOT want a water heater as I tried to explain to their side faces three times!) I finally felt the hairs go up at the back of my neck and said "Do you install what I need? It's for sale on your website." They continued to ignore me, spoke to the sales associate and decided that, "if she doesn't want a water heater we can't do anything". Again, not a problem. I thanked the helpful associate, ignored the gang of four nearly as completely as they ignored me, and I left the store with my $5K still in pocket. Went home, called the 800-Lowes number, explained my request, was told they install everything they sell, and am having an appointment set up this week. Hey store manager: since good customer service is apparently not in your wheelhouse (based on my experiences in your store), and since you seem to have communicated your thoroughly lackadaisical attitude to most of your store employees, I'll go to the Lowe's in Pembroke before I'll spend one more thin dime in your Kingston store, since no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to get you to take large amounts of cash in exchange for goods & services. I tried calling the store around 5 pm the evening before so I could make plans to be home the next day at the proper time. NO ONE EVER PICKED UP THE PHONE. Not a bad Lowe's, in my (admittedly) limited experience. 1) I appreciate that it's right off Route 3, making it a quick on-off stop. 2) The parking lot was not overly stacked with cars, again, making it a quick in and out trip. 3) I went in to have a key cut. Within 2 minutes of walking in the door, I found the key-cutting station, and someone greeted me. The key was cut, he made some friendly talk about the key I chose (calavera/sugar skull), and voila! I was done. 4) Self check out was a breeze, even with the key. I checked out in 1 minute flat. What could have been a very long, annoying, frustrating trip to Lowe's was pleasantly quick and simple. Working with this store has by far been the worst retail experience I have ever had. I am a new homeowner. I saved up credit card points for several years with plans to exchange them for big ticket items once I was moved in to my own home. I recently decided that I would need a snow blower for the winter. Luckily I had those credit card points, right? I ordered online and selected in store pickup to avoid the 70 dollar delivery charge. We rented a truck to pick it up. Everything looked good in the dark, but I noticed several issues when I saw it the next morning in the daylight. The drive shaft was already heavily rusted. Various other spots were rusted and some were already corroding. I wish I looked closely before leaving the store so I could have avoided all of this. I assumed it would be in perfect condition since I was buying a new product for almost 1000 dollars that was inside the store. I called customer service to address the problem right away. They were very apologetic and promised that the store would contact me within 24 hours to schedule a time to pick up the rusted machine and deliver a new one. Fast forward 48 hours and I still had not heard from the store. I followed up via customer service and they again apologized and escalated to the "store manager". They finally called me about 6 hours later. No apology for the rusted snow blower or for not calling me to setup a plan as promised. Oh well. At least the problem was being resolved. Ha. I wish. We agreed to have the new item delivered on Friday. On Friday the "manager" called me and told me that all the assembled machines were rusty so they would not be able to deliver as promised. She said that they were unboxing and assembling a brand new machine for me. She indicated that they would be able to deliver the next day. Fine by me. I was just happy to get a guaranteed brand new machine. I waited around on Saturday as they provide a 4 hour delivery window. I rolled the old snow blower down the driveway to meet the delivery guys when they arrived. They pulled the new machine off the truck. Guess what? Another rusty snow blower. It was also filled with leaves. Sure doesn't seem like this was just taken out of the box and assembled the day before. Clearly that was a blatant lie by the "store manager". So I sat around all day waiting for a delivery that I immediately rejected. Back to square one. I called customer service and they were once again very apologetic. Unfortunately, they still reconnect you with the original store to deal with same incapable people that created the problem in the first place. This time we spoke with a different "store manager". This gentleman could not fathom why the new machine was rusty, since several new units were assembled in store the day before. We requested that a new machine be delivered same day. He had to check their inventory and promised to call back as soon as possible. A half hour later he called to tell us that all the units in stock were rusty. And that they do not anticipate that they will get more of that particular unit in stock. He also had the nerve to tell us that even with a brand new unit, it will get rusty after you use it. I could not believe that. At this point we knew we were not getting a quality product so we requested a refund. The manager was heading out to lunch so he would look into our options and get back to us. We used a combination of gift cards and credit cards to pay. We requested that it all be refunded to the credit card so we could go to another store and get the product we were looking for. He was too much of a coward to even call us back. Instead he passed it on to a customer service associate who told us a gift card was ready for us to pickup at the store. Fine. Not what we wanted. But at this point we were just ready for this all to be over. I immediately went the store to pick it up. When I arrived, I learned that it was not a standard gift card, but store credit only. Store credit for a store that only has rusty products and has no intention of ordering new machines. Unacceptable. At first it was "not possible" to issue anything but store credit, but once I resisted, it suddenly was possible. I now have a gift card for a company with leadership that turns a blind eye to the sale of rusty equipment. Now I have to go store to store to try and find a quality product. Damaged goods, lying "managers", and general disrespect. It is not worth your time. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else. read more

Ordered a washer dryer in store, set to be delivered the following Saturday, delivered over 7 hours after delivery window we were given (with no updates) but only dryer came. Was told the washer was lost at the warehouse. After many phone calls, being told no Sunday deliveries, were told the washer would still come Sunday. Hose was too short for our set up, but delivery folks didn't tell us (didn't speak much English) and hooked it up anyway. Large scratch on brand new washer. Water all over the basement with the first load. After numerous calls, were set up to had a brand new washer and dryer delivered days later. Delivery folks said the initial dryer and cord were fried because of how the last delivery folks set it up incorrectly. They didn't bring a new dryer cord for us with the brand new dryer, and we are now expected to pay for the new cord ourselves. It's been a headache - would not recommend this location/whatever company Lowes uses to delivers appliances. read more

Every visit I have ever made here: Never staffed appropriately. Never is everything I'm going to purchase in stock. Rarely is there a person knowledgeable in the cutting center. (Most recent time I asked a gentleman to please cut (3) 12" sections from an 8' plank. He said he's not really sure how to do it but there's no one else scheduled who knows how. He messed up a few cuts and decided to cut my remainder piece to get a better measurement. Dude, why am I buying an 8 footer if I only need (3) 12" pieces. Obviously I wanted the last bit intact.) Talk about a nightmare. We wanted to get granite counter tops- quick, easy, right? Wrong. The installers showed up and on the way out the door they told me, "Oh by the way, the sink is on back order for 1-2 days." Great. I would have rescheduled the install had I have known. 1-2 days turned into over a week with a roundabout answer on when my sink would arrive. This meant we had to cancel the plumber and pay a fee. Not only were we sinkless, but they wrecked our trim by making sloppy, unprofessional cuts. There was clearly no pride or effort put into the craftsmanship - and one of the pieces of granite was cut too short but still installed! WTF? They also didn't mount our dishwasher to the granite, it's just left sitting resting on the floor all wobbly. 1-2 days pass and still no sink. So there's our second plumber cancellation fee. They finally call me EIGHT DAYS later to say my sink is in and scheduled an install date and gave me a timeframe of 11-1. Guess who doesn't show and calls me after 1 to say they will be there after 2 and complains, "But I'm on my way!" when I say I won't be there? Yup, the installers. Really happy I called into work for this! We insisted they provide a plumber to hook up the sink since we've dealt with cancelling one a bunch. They send out a guy and he leaves and pipes are loose etc. and leaking water everywhere! I didn't notice until it had soaked through to the subflooring! People have had entire kitchens redone in this time frame! It started a bad snowball effect...I couldn't finish painting the cabinets because without an install date I didn't want the dust from drilling sticking to the paint, which meant my kitchen was still in boxes. I was appalled that Lowe's was okay with leaving a customer with an unfinished job for almost two weeks. I'm surprised no compensation has been offered. As the general contractor it's their job to fix this, no? So why were my husband and I wasting time on the phone with installers, corporate, and the Kingston store? Why do we have to ASK for compensation? Oh, right, clearly they are terrible at customer service. We are re-doing nearly our whole house and from now on I will pay the tiny bit extra for the local guys. Next time I need granite I am going with Emerald City. I regret using Lowes. read more

I usually avoid Lowes because of the size of the store and miles of walking to find anything and I won't use self service, but I needed something the local hardware didn't have. Found it and headed back to the front of the store and the registers, correction; one register manned. In the aisle ahead of me a woman dumped her basket on the counter; many little screws, nuts and assorted brick-a-brack from the screws and nuts aisle. Nothing was labeled, she hadn't placed anything in the little plastic bags they have there, nor had she written anything down. No prices, no part number, not even the row and bin. After a while I left my cart in the lane and went to find the rest room. Finished my business (no water in the sink, no towels either, good thing I usually do my business without getting it on my hands) and returned. They were still sorting it out, three employees now. With the parts books out, matching each piece one by one. No. They didn't open up any of the other four closed registers. If I hadn't promised to fix my girlfriends driveway problem I'd have left the cart right there. Finally she finished, complaining about how long they were taking sorting out her mess all the time. Goodbye Karen. I checked out without saying one unnecessary word. Time wasted, at least fifteen minutes. read more

No one in the Garden Center (8:05 AM) store opens at 8AM + no register open + no carts for customers to get their items. Finally a Lowes employee who was says go complain to the store manager. So I go to store manager who tells me to claim done + he'll get someone over to the Garden Center. First, You don't tell the customer to claim down. I wasn't upset, but more like What's going on with the Garden Center ? How about a sorry I'll take care of the problem right away. This happens there all the time. Upset workers + everyone coming in late making customers wait. Never again will I go to this store. If you buy anything there open box before leaving store. I bought a microwave And when I went to have it installed the box contained somebody else's oLd broken microwave. Since it is over the the 30 days nothing they will do for me. I'm out the $200 for the microwave and now have to pay to dispose of some else's garbage. So BUYER BEWARE when shopping this store. I purchased patio furniture online to be delivered to my home. At the time of purchase I was told that someone would be in contact within 24 hours to setup a delivery date & time. That never happened. I had to call the store two days later to get a delivery scheduled. The original delivery was for Friday. That delivery did not arrive. There was no call to explain why the delivery did not arrive. I contacted the delivery company and was told the driver had gotten sick and cancelled the rest of that days deliveries. My delivery was rescheduled for Sunday. Sunday morning I called the delivery company to be sure of the intended delivery time. I was told delivery would be between 2:30 and 4:30. At 3:45, I called the delivery company again to verify that my item was still being delivered during that window. They said the driver was at the store now and that my item would be the first one dropped off. That delivery never happened. I contacted the delivery company again at 5:30 and was told that the Lowe's store manager had my item removed from the delivery list, but no one at the store had any idea why. I ended up on a conference call with the store manager and delivery company representative, and was told my item would be put back out for delivery the next day and that they would call to let me know a time frame. That call never happened. I called the delivery company again, but they had no record of a scheduled delivery for me today. I called the store again and they said they saw no record of my item going out for delivery, but that it might be on the truck, maybe. As luck would have it, I happened to be home this morning when the delivery finally arrived. Roughly twenty minutes after the item was dropped off the Lowes store called to say the delivery would be coming later this afternoon, but they could not give an exact time frame. The lack of customer service and level of miscommunication at Lowe's in Kingston is truly remarkable. Save yourself the headache and drive the extra few exits to Home Depot. read more

We were in the isle looking, and Employee "RON" came flying down the isle screaming across the store at us to not spray the floor- we were not. Then a man that had apparently complained about us started screaming and cursing us out- to which Ron did absolutely nothing but stand there and let this man curse us out. When I asked Ron if he was going to do anything about this belligerent man screaming at us in front of 3 kids under 10, Ron walked away and ignored us. Will not be coming back to this Lowe's. Went to pick up an online order after receiving an email telling me it was ready for pickup. When I arrived, I was told it wasn't ready for pick up, but someone was just getting it. I waited 15 minutes - no one showed with my order. 3 staff members are standing in front of me chatting the entire time. I got fed up waiting & got the order myself & brought it to the front. On the way out I was stopped by another 3 staff members waiting at the exit, & asked for my receipt. I told them I didn't have one as it was an online order. "I need to see a receipt" one said. I work in retail. 30 years experience, and I can't believe how poorly this store is run. Try and find someone to help you, and the workers scurry away like cockroaches. I went in several times to purchase all new appliances. Always 1 person working the department and 8 plus people waiting in line. I decided to come back in the later part of the evening, hoping the line of people wouldn't be so long. Finally got to speak to someone names Mike and order appliances, but then clerk then took a phone call in the middle of my order making me wait another 15 minutes. I even said excuse me, and he put his finger up and said sorry. My fridge was delivered and it didn't work. Had to call and reschedule another delivery. Was assured it would be here on a Friday. They called Thursday night saying the truck broke down. Bullshit. I had to take another day off from work to reschedule the delivery. Low and behold, no phone call the night before about the delivery time. I call and they tell me it's absolutely being delivered but can't give me a time and to call in the morning. I call lowes, and they say there is no scheduled delivery for me. I ask to speak to a manager, and am told he's off for the next 2 days. Now I have to take another day off from work to get a fridge I paid for 2 months ago from them. I have never dealt with more incompetent, rude associates in my life.
