We popped into the nursery section and were surprised to see a decent selection of spring plants (well beyond what I was looking for). We picked up a few plants and potting soil and fought the urge to buy more. Our checkout experience was smooth and quick. We came in today to check out refrigerators and a few other items for our new home. The new Latin lady in the large application section was very nice and helpful. We did end up purchasing a refrigerator before we left. While checking out the appliances one of the Lowes signs fell from a refrigerator and onto my foot causing a bruise. I would suggest a new signage system to prevent further customers from being unnecessarily injured while the are shopping. I would also like for management to be more engaged with their employees. We stood in an aisle of the tools sections waiting for help after we asked for it for over 20 minutes. In that time I counted 5 employees standing around doing nothing but talking while we were waiting. We finally got fed up with waiting and checked out. We came to Lowe's after going to Home Depot where the service was even worse. After this I don't know if we will want to support either business. read more

Lowe's has lost me for good. I've spent thousands of dollars at Lowe's over the past years as a homeowner. Recently Lowe's has implemented a NO RETURN policy. Their return policy doesn't allow for an in store credit without receipt. I was denied refund for ceramic tiles my wife and I had purchased as samples for a bathroom remodel project. Due to confusion as to which credit/debit card we had purchased them on, I just gave them back without a refund. Now today I attempted to exchange an aerosol can of spray finish that was purchased with another but was missing the spray tip. You would think no big deal? Well I was once again denied exchange due to the purchase was past the 90 day refund window. Well Lowes your NO RETURN policy has taught me NOT TO RETURN as a customer. Good bye! read more

I have been coming to this Lowe's since 1994 and I am absolutely devastated by how far it has fallen. There aren't enough people to help you and it takes forever for someone to get to you because of it. They are now 100% self checkout expect the Garden Center and Construction. Last week, I went in to get a light bulb, but didn't know which one to get because the LED numbers didn't match the number on the bulb I had (pre-government mandate florescent). I saw no one in any aisle, so I went to the service desk and asked if someone could help me. The woman, chewing her gum like a cow chews the cud), look at me like she was exasperated I had the nerve to ask for help and then said, "I'll page someone and we'll see if someone shows up." No one showed up. After about 10 minutes, I walked down to constitution and the lady there did her absolute best to help me. While I was talking to her, she was getting paged on her phone. She told them she was with a customer and the person asked her if she wanted them to make her a plate. Apparently no one could help me because they were all enjoying an evening potluck or something. I will go here for plants and if I'm close by and need to get something real quick. Otherwise, I'll drive all the way to Menards, where I can actually get help and someone will check me out. read more

Now this location has gone almost entirely self checkout. They have one lane that they can have a cashier located. At least 8 self checkouts. I wish people would stop using self checkouts. They take jobs and when you check yourself out you are working for that company and not getting any benefit. read more

Free wifi, self checkout, usually friendly staff and almost everything you need for your home improvement projects. I've been coming here for years for garden, bath, tools, Christmas and more. The carry great brands such as Craftsman, Delta and more. The garden section is packed with great seasonal plants and accessories. The prices are ok but look for clearance items at the ends of the aisles. I have picked up some nice rugs, Christmas lights. garden chairs and accent pillows on clearance for great prices. There is a good selection of grills, mowers, snowblowers. You will also find kits for building sheds and supplies for fencing. They have a large parking lot but sometimes difficult to maneuver with customers walking with carts from the garden section. Check out can be slow. Carrying stuff to your car can be like a game of Frogger. Go early when not crowded. read more

I was on a mission. I dug up all seven of the bushes in front of my porch and needed replacements so I went to my local Lowe's location. Went I pulled in I saw that the gates to the garden center were closed so there wouldn't be a quick in and out trip for me this time. I went in the main entrance and made a bee line for the garden center. It was deserted and it was like a desert. It was a hot day, but there was no one out there and all the plants and bushes were bone dry and a little weepy. The selection was pretty minimal, so I grabbed what I could use, loaded up the cart and went back into the store. As I approached the registers, none of them were open. Only the self check out lanes and one employee working. I had to wait on the employee to help me as I had some discounted plants I wasn't able to run up. He was pleasant but didn't speak to me, and you could tell he wasn't wanting to be there. He rang me up but needed an override and called someone over to help. They came over, but didn't have their "card" so they had to wait for a third person to come and finish the transaction. I mentioned to them that all of the plants out side were very dry, and there was no response. I then asked if they heard me, and they asked if it was a certain area and I said no, it's all of them. After a handful of minutes a third person comes over and finishes the transaction so I can leave with my plants. Lowe's could use some additional employees, so if your looking for a job...... read more

This is definitely one of the worst locations. The store is extremely dirty and super unorganised. The employees are very rude and will do just about anything to avoid helping you. I have shopped here many times over the years, and continue to do so at times, but almost always, unfortunately, I have to go to a second store to get something on my list that they don't have...and then, of course, realize I could have JUST gone to the second place because they have everything I needed. Getting help from staff is extremely variable; once in a while there will be someone who really knows home improvement products and can help in finding something or answering a question, but, sadly, more frequently, my experience has been that staff aren't sure where things are or even what they are. As an example, I was in one time looking for a box fan or something along those lines, and the staff member had no idea what I was talking about. I pulled a picture up on my phone and he said he had never seen anything like it and so was pretty sure they didn't sell them....or any other kind of fan. I will likely continue to try to run in here if I just need one thing, but when I have a longer list, I really need to remember to save the step of going here and then elsewhere and just go elsewhere from the start. read more

After being passed on to different individuals six times, I had to speak with the manager for proper guidance. So far I have clocked well over 60 hours talking to Lowes customer service. I would highly suggest no one ever use any of their sales that go to outside contractors to install. The salesman that came to my house was horrible providing documentation, and lied to me about giving me a 5% additional discount for being LE. And after they picked up the excess lumber and concrete mix, where they told me I would be refunded for that- they didnt. They they find in the initial contract that was up to their discretion- but when I called to have it picked up I talked about it and they told me it I would get a refund. Nope. Eventually talked to someone at the store named Ashley who said once she documented what I had returned she would make sure I was refunded. Nope All my calls to the installation customer service the people have been very helpful and said they would call me back in 2-3 working days. Nope. Today I talked to a supervisor in that area and she just flat out told me I was not goin to get any of my money back Obviously I will never shop at lowes again and I would highly suggest no one else does either. read more

I went to Lowe's to purchase a new toilet and installation. I was asked by the customer service associate what day would I like for the installation to be completed so I told him, I then asked for the time frame he said 8-3 ok. I rescheduled a prior appointment to wait for the installation of my new toilet only to be told on the day of the supposedly scheduled appointment that I don't have an appointment and in fact that's not how the process is. I ask for a manager they are in a meeting. I asked for a refund to my credit card I was told come in person I arrived to the store no manager. They page the person I spoke with on the phone she never came to customer service. 30 minutes later same thing NOTHING!! Do yourself a favor stay away from this Lowe's. Very poor customer service. NoOne even cared. Customer service is not what it used to be. Associates are not properly trained!! read more

The sales floor staff, Jesse, in particular was helpful to find and purchase a washer and dryer. The delivery coordination however, is so bad. I'd picked a Tuesday for delivery. On Monday, Sarah left a message saying they didn't have a driver for my delivery on Tuesday. And maybe I'd be on the schedule for Thursday. I spent Tuesday and Wednesday trying to reach anyone to determine if I was actually on the schedule for Thursday. I left voicemails and talked to other CS reps who said they'd have to have Sarah get back to me. She never did. So Wednesday night I called and some other CS rep confirmed I was on the delivery list for Thursday. On Thursday someone called me at 9am to say the delivery window was between 10 and 2. He also disclosed that originally someone ordered me two dryers and no washer, but they fixed it and would have a washer and dryer to deliver to me. 2pm Thursday came and went so I called, talked to a manager named Chris, who told me I was on the schedule "for tomorrow." Chris did step up and make several urgent calls to figure out what was going on and how to fix the issues and get a washer a dryer delivered to me. Unfortunately, I still had to go through the hassle of taking multiple days off and each day regretting that laundry continued to pile up. So unless you can take various days off work to be available for multiple delivery windows that never happen, don't order from Lowes. read more

This location has been going down the crapper the last year or so, not sure how other locations are doing. You check online for something before you go and then you get there and Inventory counts are wrong, inventory locations are wrong, etc... I went in Monday to get a piece of glass cut @ 9am. Asked customer service to page someone to meet me in the glass cutting area and she did. Walked back there, no one was there. I pushed the auto page button and no one showed up. Went back the next day and i must say the gentleman that works in appliances know his job. I find the older shop stewards are the nicest and most helpful. There is a lady who mixes up a mean quart of paint and I especially love Dave B. in hardware who has managed to find nuts and bolts for me that I really doubted Lowe's would have. I went to this store the day after Christmas because my sister's stove burn wasn't working. The young lady that answered the assistance button asked for her order number. It was purchased it from hh Gregg. Lowe's told me she needed to get a new one. I told her I was going to fix it, first she said I couldn't do that and I told her she (the sales person) didn't know my skills then she said they don't sell parts. A salesman came up and gave me the card. He didn't give me a name of the appliance stores, he just said one was in zionsville and one was off of Lafayette. The assistance button wouldn't turn off, the lady was more interested in the button than me the customer. This is my third bad experience with Lowe's. I use to prefer them. I gave two stars because the man did give me other options instead of trying to fix the assistance button. read more

So disappointed with the home design center. Had the associate come to the home and take measurements and talk over a few items I wanted changed with my bathroom remodel. Went into the store a week later to go over details and pick items out. This entire meeting was a disaster from the moment we got there. She never even prepped for the meeting and had nothing set out to see. I had emailed her directly after our first meeting of styles, notes and pictures of items I like and designs/styles I wanted to focus around at her request. 1. The designer did not listen to a single thing I truly wanted and kept picking items she liked even after I kept telling her not my style. 2. Never told me how long the appointment would be and was completely laissez faire about my personal time. 3. I very much told her where my hard budget line was and she kept telling me it is totally doable. As she starts to price items out it became increasingly apparent she had no clue nor cared what my budget was for this project. 4. She said she would follow up with an email of all the items we discussed. Over two weeks later I have had zero contact from her. No email or call. She very much has all my correct contact information. Incredibly disappointed with this individual and reflects poorly on the entire store at this location. Will not be going back here for anything even though it is right around the corner from where I live. They have completely lost me as a customer. read more

I purchased a porch blind from Lowe's on Michigan Rd. and the installers, Mike and Dean respectively, measured and then installed the blind. They were either incompetent or untruthful about the appearance of the blind which was installed crookedly. They said there would be a gap at the top which I accepted, but then when installed, Dean told me that the porch roof was slanted and the blind would hang crookedly and he could do nothing about it. The first one, Mike, should have known that the roof was slanted and been truthful . In addition, perhaps even more galling, was the second one, Dean, was sarcastic and disrespectful. Never using Lowe's installation services again, nor should anyone. read more

I went over to the local Lowes and inquired about replacement of an older water heater for my elderly sister. They referred me to a contractor that came out and gave a quote. I have built homes and when this contractor arrived they quoted $2495.00 to replace a 40 gallon gas water heater which is outrageous and very sad they would charge Lowes customers this much for a water heater. The unit was only $550 so the labor was nearly $2000.00. I will no longer ever do business with Lowes Or their contractors since they are taking advantage of the elderly and everyone else. I suggest calling a plumber that is fair. Note: I hired a plumber that charged me $300 for the same work. read more

I went Saturday Jan 29th at about 1:30 in the afternoon. I was able to find a parking spot easily. Justin, in the lumber department was awesome!! He helped me get exactly what I was looking for and he explained how to install it. He also cut my plywood in the exact measurements I needed and helped me put everything in my van!! Seems most of the negative reviews are old or for one-off isolated incidents. I've been coming here for two years without incident; moved in to a nearby condo and came by regularly while fixing things up. Have had keys made, paint mixed, and bought all sorts of hardware and accessories. Always a quick in/out, open registers, and friendly/helpful staff. I don't always buy here (sometimes Menards is cheaper, or Home Depot has a better option), but it's always my first stop. Also, Goodwill is right next door, so you can drop off donations right before loading your car up with the new haul. read more

This was the closest to my house, I drove 25 minutes one way, when I arrived they told me they were out of stock and the Internet is not properly updated. This is probably the best Lowe's in Indianapolis proper. Although not the largest store, this store has the best and most intuitive layout. I've always been able to walk in and find what I want immediately and get to register without a unreasonable line (because they have most registers open). It's like this store was laid out to a handyman's instincts with logical progression from one department to the next. The help I've received here has been spot on, and there is always someone around in this store. It's as if they purposely overstaff, but as busy as this store is sometimes, maybe it is quite necessary. I've never seen a busier garden center in the summer, but they fly through flowers, push the bushes, and slang the seed. And you should also see what they can do with the legal stuff, (JK!) All in all, this Lowe's will help you complete your project quicker. read more

If a family member is a veteran and signed up for the rewards program, all you need is their phone number to use their discount. At 10% it takes care of the tax! This is probably the worst Lowe's I have ever walked into. The staff is very unfriendly & unhelpful. I have never found assistance when needed & usually nobody wants to do their jobs there. I went here a few days ago looking for a specific part, only to find out they only have two possible options. The staff replied with a smart a$$ remark when I interrupted him & his two buddies discussion. Both options did not work & when my boyfriend and I returned the two parts, my boyfriend wanted to look at the display himself. He then made the mistake of confirming with one of the staff if that was the only parts they had, completely different guy from the day before, and he responded, "It's still the section I told you about & that is all we have". Needless to say Menard's may not have had the specific part either, but the staff gave us other options on how to make one work for us. read more

While the QUALITY of workmanship (by the contractor) was adequate to above average, the UTTER lack of communication between the store/Lowe's corporate central scheduling/& the contractor has been FAR BELOW even being"acceptable"... THEN to try and pry an answer out of any 1 of the above has been asinine at best. If you DO choose to go with them, make SURE that you have EXACTLY what your expectations are in the event that additional services should be found to be needed. Also, despite what the salesman said, you DO IN FACT N-E-E-D drip edge (or the contractor preferred product) of gutter shield. read more

Very underwhelming experience here. Wandered around the store for a while trying to chase someone down to try to help me find a couple things. Alas, I found a group of four male employees standing around talking amongst each other not interested in even looking my way. One of the men finally and begrudgingly decided to look at me. Pointed me in the direction instead of walking me to the aisle as if I was keeping him from standing around. Of course he told me the wrong aisle so had to find another person to help me find the correct aisle. Next time I need something a little more difficult to find, I will head to Ace Hardware or another smaller more customer focused store. read more

I have spent my fair share of time at Lowe's, definitely enough to know that you shouldn't start mixing paint for someone before you are sure that you have all three colors! So after I had to find new colors because they couldn't mix what I needed, an associate walked by me shouting racist profanities...and then I knew I would no longer be a customer at this location. read more
