Extremely disappointing experience at the Lowe's in League City. A truck toolbox purchased as a Christmas gift failed in less than three months when the lock fell out. After confirming I was within the exchange window, I removed the toolbox from my truck (unloading tools and unbolting it) and brought it in expecting a simple swap. Instead, I was told to locate the replacement myself. While pushing a large toolbox through the store, I was also assisting my 80-year-old father who walks with a cane. Multiple associates were present, yet no one took ownership or offered meaningful help. When the replacement was finally found, staff declined to bring it to the front, citing department boundaries, and I ultimately loaded it back into my truck alone. The defective product was inconvenient, but the lack of customer ownership and basic service was unacceptable. No customer -- especially one helping an elderly parent -- should be expected to navigate an exchange and heavy lifting process without support. We needed a new washing machine and we have limited room in our garage so we opted for a energy efficient 2 in 1 washer dryer combo. It washes and dries all in the same drum and does not require a vent. It's very convenient to load dirty clothes in and pull out clean dry ones out. And it has a smart feature that allows us to load laundry liquid/fabric softener into a slot that auto dispenses the liquids as needed. We only have to refill it maybe once per month depending on our laundry usage. So far we love it. We had to drive our car in at an angle before and now we have room to pull straight in due to the extra space that we now have in the garage. Lowes had the best deal when we went looking for a 2 in 1. The ordering & delivery was seamless. Ordered one day & delivered 4 days later as one item was not in stock on day of ordering. I went to customer service to see if they could deliver a number of semi-heavy items (bags of soil, small flats of flagstones) into my backyard, and they assured me they could. I spent an hour picking things out, only for them to show up at my house this morning with one guy and a huge forklift that wouldn't have fit through the gates at any house on my block. They claimed the items required a forklift, but this was only true because they bundled multiple things with plastic onto a pallet. All the items could have easily been brought in with just two guys without having a forklift driving over my lawn, but they decided to cheap out and waste my time. They tried to put the blame on Fed Ex and they are probably the ones who broke it, but they were tube light bulbs that I could not and still cannot get at a store. The customer service is beyond repair so go to Home Depot because Jeff Bezos will take over Lowe's. I spent $1700 and could not even get a delivery right. Customer service - if you can find someone - is about as low as you can go at this store. It seems as if each time I go to Lowe's something that is supposed to be in a particular place (according to their website) is not, and no one who works there knows anything. Today's frustration was on aisle 2 - I was going to get an electronic deadbolt lock. They are all locked up so I spent a few minutes finding someone who worked there. The person I found said I was the second person wanting something from that section but they were having staffing issues and the key was with their manager. The manager was in a "manager's meeting for the next 30 minutes." I asked the person if they could go get the key from the manager and the response was "oh no, I can't do that, sorry." I told him he just lost a $289 sale and he didn't care, try to stop me from leaving, nothing. So I drove an extra 10 minutes to Home Depot to get what I needed. I came to this Lowe's Store in Meyerland to pick up my online order last week. Just realized something. My first time here was when we moved to Houston to buy appliances and cabinets. OMG, it's been over a decade ago. There was not much changed. Surprisingly. It's still a better place to shop than The Home Depot near my house and the other Lowe's Store near where I usually do grocery shopping. I have to sidetrack a little bit. I bought a heating element online. I compared the price with the one on Home Depot website, thought expensive one would work. But not true. I had to return it back to Home Depot. The only downside for Lowe's website is the speed. It takes forever to browse in computer and on mobile app. I got 500 Mbps speed on my phone. There was a drag to shop online. Some items I had to shop online because of supply chain interruption due to Covid-19 pandemic. Store shopping is much better and easier. However, cashier lines were not organized. I had to change cashier counter few times because most of them were closed. But there was not sign to tell people it was closed. Employees are nicer, though. I wouldn't mind coming back. read more

I do come in in the morning and at times it's difficult to find anybody if you need help finding specific items or questions about a specific job. I often buy more than is needed for a job so I don't have to come back in the middle of it and the lady at the returns desk is usually helpful and crediting me on open items for future purchases. Fall spruce up time. Our landscaping needs a bit of a re-zhuzh from the extreme cold and hot over the last year or so. We needed a shrub which could withstand full sun and looking online, the choices are plentiful. Getting to the store, however, did not yield all of those options. In fact, there was ONE bush of what I wanted and then many others, which I didn't really care for. Rather than waiting for a week to get plants shipped to me through their website, I made a choice and bought what was in stock. The employee in the plant section seemed a little "over it" and he referred me to customer service when I tried to use a gift card and he couldn't tell the balance on the card. I proceeded to go to the customer service counter where they confirmed the balance. I made my way to another part of the store before checking out at the self service. Every so often I am smacked in face with the reminder... THIS IS WHY I SHOP ON AMAZON. Customer service is at an all time low, but lower than that. So when I do have to deal with no -existent customer service, I place my orders online and opt for "curbside service". For the second second time I had an item canceled from my order stating "out of stock". However, when the same item showed out of stock two days ago... I thought "might as well see if it's in stock". Sure enough there's a stack of them. I buy two. Realized I could use another one after cutting the shelves an inch shorter. I go online and order a few things in addition to the shoe shelf I need to complete a stack. It's pouring down rain, but I'm determined to finish this project. When I get to Walmart a nice employee, Victor runs out to my trunk in the rain. He tells me the one item I really wanted today is "out of stock and won't be there until Sunday. ‍ ugh... just my freaking luck. I figure I'd just buy one on Row 29, Bin 9. Should have known they wouldn't find it again... even tho it's exactly where the LOWES APP shows it's located. Of course, I didn't bring my wallet. Surely they take Apple Pay. So I run into the store in the pouring rain with my dog in my arms. NO!!!!! They do not take Apple Pay. I ask the girl in customer service if they can just update the order and let me take the ONE item they failed to pull. "NO... it's a special order!" She says. You can't take that one. "How can it be a special order when I have one HERE... in my HANDS!" You cant do that! We argued back and forth. Security Fraud alert: Two Monitored Security cameras at Lowe's Beechnut stationed prominently in the parking lot are providing a layer of safety and security for your property and life when you shop there right? Park your car by one as best place to park and feel safe knowing you and your car are  surveilled. as the sign on the units in big letters promise that the cameras are actively monitored.   Nope, it is all a fraud. My Handyman went there to get a part last week for the project he was working on at my house. Instead of parking closer to the front doors he intentionally parked close to one of the Mobile "monitored" cameras. He came out and his back window was shattered and his tools stolen. Waiting for Police to take report and view camera video store employee told him the advertised monitored security camera units are only for show. They don't work. Only the two cameras by the front door work. This appears to be corporate policy of deception. Emails to Lowes CEO resulted in two pro forma fill in the blank responses saying basically not our problem: Work with the Police. How so? No video for police to work with! I requested they stop this fraud and remove the units before someone gets further harmed; and that it is dangerous and ethically wrong that as policy they are willingly and knowingly engaging in this security deception. The store and corporate response? Both "mobile security cameras are still there. They obviously do not care about continuing to falsely advertise this layer of security and continue to deliberately impose this deception. Losing $1,000 plus in tools for my handyman due to this fraud is huge to him and his family. Lowe's CEO staff response is to not care or change policy. I was very surprised at this but maybe I should not be. Going forward I will take my business to Home Depot at 610 and Hwy 59 as at least it is not close to the bayous were the 20 plus bodies have been found recently and they don't deceptively advertise a layer of security for your safety that does not exist.    It is demonstrably not a deterrence but rather a customer security deception. read more

07/10/23, I arrived at about 6pm. I brought in a return for unused plumbing parts. The woman at the customer service desk wasn't pleasant, but she did her job and credited my card. I had several things on my list, so I started looking for hinges, bathroom caulk, air filters, and planned to get paint. As I was shopping, several employees asked if I needed assistance, and everyone was helpful and polite. As I was speaking with Dinah about hinges, I told her that I needed to get some paint too. She told me that she was the one in the paint department that day, and I had found the right person. Yay! She was super nice. While I love home improvement stores, my least favorite thing to buy is paint. I will delay, delay, delay because I dread dealing with the look of extreme anguish when I ask for more than one paint color, or worse yet, samples. Anyway, Dinah was really helpful and made the paint colors for me cheerfully. I hope she's there next time I need paint! There was another woman assisting her who was also great, but she didn't have a name tag on, so I didn't catch her name. My only suggestion to this store is to invest in some new shopping carts. I was there for 1-1/2 hours and I tried multiple carts. Every single cart was misaligned, and I had to struggle to push it through the store. When you have a lot of weight in the cart, it's even more difficult. I don't know why more stores don't address this issue by either replacing the carts or repairing them. Sometimes, if the carts are really bad, I won't buy more than I can carry. That wasn't possible this time because I was buying paint. read more

Manager answered she said call the number on that back of the card, AFTER I EXPLAINED THAT IT SAYS TO CONTACT STORE FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME even told her to go call it herself and listen to the options - Arguing back and forth she went to talk to ISO? I recently purchased an expensive standby generator from Lowes and requested to be provided with installation services. I was promised free delivery due to my status as a veteran, but still incurred shipping costs. The company referred to me by Lowes (US Power Pros) later contacted me, arranged to come to my house to measure for preparation of installation quote (no measurements were taken), promised to email me a quote within 24 hours (never got the quote), and when I attempted to contact the installer I was told that they prioritized installations toward customers who purchased generators directly from US Power Pros. So, I now have an expensive standby generator taking up space in my garage with no way of having it installed. I would like to return the item to Lowes but then I will have to incur additional shipping costs. I get a response from Lowe's which basically invited me to reach out to them to allow them an opportunity to address my concerns. I called the toll free number that they asked me to call and I get an automated phone system which took me in circles several times without me never having an opportunity to speak to a live person. What ever happened to true customer service. Lowes could simply have went to the order that I placed to get my contact information and had a PERSON contact me, but no and I am still sitting here with a $2000 paperweight sitting useless in my garage. 8/21/2024 THE SAGA CONTINUES: I have responded to this request that I call the above number, plus several other numbers I have managed to find online. The situation has gone from bad to worse. First off, the above number brings an automated phone system which sent me in circles or would simply disconnect me. I did manage to speak to several Lowes representatives which got me nowhere. The bottom line is that when I purchased this generator from Lowes AND requested installation service, it is the official policy of Lowes that they refer the installation portion of the order to an independent contractor and it is ALSO Lowes policy that a customer purchase the standby generator through the independent contractor that Lowes refers me to. I usually don't review BIG BOX STORES because customer service is hit or miss, just depending on the employees at work. This location has let me down more than once and because it is the closest location I continued to spend my hard earned money there. Will NOT be spending another dime at this location. The only reason I did not give one star is because not every visit was ALL bad. On my last visit to this location I dealt with German in Tools/Hardware (whatever department it is) and he is the reason I will not come to this location anymore. When I first dealt with him he cut some mirror glass for me. We talked and he told me about his wife and how customer service was so important to him. Ha, the lies he told. The second time I called to speak with German he seemed like I was bothering him. I called to make sure #1 the glass cutting machine was operating but to also confirm they had mirror glass in stock. Guess, that's a problem to call and confirm since many Lowe's locations have a problem with answering the phone and keeping the cutting machine operating. He told me the blade needed replacing and to call the following week. Calling Lowe's is a headache to begin with especially since they "have a new phone system". I know how that is. Once I got German on the phone again I felt like he was being short because I wanted to confirm the machine was working and enough glass was in stock. I had just called minutes before (which he didn't know) and was told the machine was broken. He said, "calm down the machine is working". Don't tell me to calm down. I was told one thing by the customer service person that answered the phone and now you are telling me something different... Let me make sure before I drive up there and become more upset. I get there and make a long story short he tells me that he is going to have to charge me a different price than last time. I look crazy and he explained because I am getting more than 3 pieces cut and he would have to charge me an additional fee. I knew from a previous visit to another Lowe's location that if you purchase the mirror glass from them, they will cut it for free. I also knew that after so many pieces they charge additional fees but I thought it was up to 5 pieces. "Ok, no problem" I said. German said, "the reason I didn't charge you the last time is to show you good customer service". I laughed said some words and told him "that would be all". I didn't even get the other glass I needed. He knew I was upset because he then says, "I will give you discount". "No sir, charge me what the price is (no discount needed) so I can get up out of here". I took a photo of the prices while he was cutting the glass. I knew. It's my fault because I didn't check while at the register. But wrong is wrong and needs to be called out. Lowe's at Meyerland is the closest box store so that is where I have been going since moving into our new house last year. I wrote before that the computer system at Lowe's is terrible and has caused me a ton of problems but today was the final straw. I went to get citrus soil, which the website says they have. I get there and they do have it but on a pallet 10ft up. I ask for a bunch of bags and they call for a forklift. Since they said a few minutes I wait outside in the garden section for 15 minutes in 103 heat 95% humidity and am soaked through from sweat. When a guy finally comes, he says the fork lift person will be coming in in 4 hours. About 30% of the time they do not have the products they say they have on their website destroying my work plans for the day. I will now drive past Lowe's and drive a further 3 miles to get to a Home Depot. read more

Worst customer experience I've had in a long time. Long story short, ordered a Kitchen Aid refrigerator in store. The salesperson was decently friendly but didn't seem to be much of an appliance expert - no big deal because I was pretty sure what model I wanted. I clearly tell her kitchen is on 2nd floor. Delivery people show up and state they need to come back with more people to carry it up stairs. After 3 more visits (yes 3!) to my house either the fridge they brought was damaged or they again didn't return with enough people to carry it upstairs. At this point I'm beyond frustrated and just return the fridge to Lowes and get one from Best Buy instead. 2 weeks after returning the fridge I realize I haven't received a refund. Between online chats and phone calls I spend a couple hours getting the runaround. Ultimately the stupid people in this store's appliance department insist I must come into the store to get a refund. I come into the store and guess what - customer service tells me I need to speak with someone on the phone. I drove to the store to speak to someone from the store's phone... I believe we've finally gotten the refund processed but none of this should have been so hard. I'll avoid this store and Lowes in general moving forward. read more

The reason we have shift in online shopping is because of poor service. This Lowe's is no stranger to poor service. All employees with exception of a a few, have a very foul attitude. No smiles, and no interest in helping any customer. I usually always go to Home Depot just down the freeway, because their service is somewhat better than this establishment. Laurie Haines was exceptional however. She actually took her time to assist us and that is why I give two stars, if you have more associates like her would definitely get better customer satisfaction. She really did make us feel very good, but when we were checking out, the cashier was extremely unpleasant, which again made us hate the store. Side note, when your associates give a card to customers to do a survey, don't aim for a 7 aim for a 10. When taking a test you don't hope to make a 70% you aim for 100%. I am literally turning into my mom when it comes to plants. lol So I stopped by here to see what plants they had. Glad I came. They had a clearance section and they had Lantanas for $1, $3, and $5! I was so excited lol I went a little crazy lol. My mom had previously purchased my first lantanas back in March and only one survived and it is beautiful so I have fallen in love with them. I purchased two American Standard toilet seats for my American Standard toilets with a gift card from my dad who has recently passed away. Of course, the one receipt that I cannot find is the one for these two toilet seats that do not fit my toilets. They are the correct size but they do not line up properly on my toilets. It was okay. I've visited this location a few times and I've never had to ask for help or anything until this time. I went in looking for hooks to hang wall pics. As in doing that. I'm on the phone talking to a friend. And he asked me to get him something called Soapstone. I didn't know what it was, and neither did any of the workers. We went through four workers until one knew what it was. It was actually kind of funny. The parking lot always have spots, but I always feel like I'm parking far back. MEANWHILE, others were zooming past us giving US dirty looks not blocking the line. This is NOT acceptable!!! I've been to this Lowe's twice now and have not had a single positive experience between the two of them. The first time I came to have keys made. The gentleman helping me was very gruff, rude, and generally disinterested in helping me, seeming like I was inconveniencing him more than anything. Unsurprisingly, neither key worked. I was able to return them and get a refund however, and the lady that helped me with the return was genuinely sweet and very helpful. My second visit was today. I was looking for a piece of plumbing for a DIY project. The employee that helped me, Eddie, was probably the worst experience I've ever had in retail to this date. He was ornery, dismissive, and didn't even attempt to understand my issue or my question enough to even attempt to solve it. He flat out denied having the part in the store at all to fix my problem before changing his mind and pointing me to a random piece of plumbing to get rid of me as fast as possible. How do I know this? Because I was trying to find an extender in order to help solve a problem with the piece I was installing being larger than the piece I was replacing. What did he recommend, a spacer in order to create more space, the exact opposite of what I needed. I left this Lowes and drove 3 miles to the friendly neighborhood orange store that will remain unnamed and a gentleman solved my problem in less than 45 seconds. I'm not kidding. "What do you want me to make the manager fly over here?" "Don't talk to me like I'm your child," "Did you read the sign? The manager's just gonna come tell you the same thing I already told you" These were things actually told to me today by employees at my friendly neighborhood Lowe's. This was after I went to the service desk to get the store manager about another issue and was basically accosted by the woman at the service desk after she ignored me.
