Late last winter my old deck had collapsed because it was not built right and done without a registered professional engineer. I order all new materials from lowe's to replace this deck including the footers. They have promised to deliver these materials by a certain date last early spring. A few materials came by UPS several days before delivery date; but during the scheduled delivery date, they called and said the delivery date will be several days later. When that date came, they called again and it will be a few more days because some of the ordered items were still out of stock and not in the store yet. Then the order was delayed again and a period of very wet weather was in the forecast after I had the footers already dug. Since rain is in the forecast 36 hours later, I went to the store one afternoon and had to pickup the 43 bags of Sakcrete mix and the 4 concrete anchors bolts with my pickup truck and then cancelled part of my order. I then worked to midnight with headlamps to get these footers poured before I have a muddy mess and to avoid a significant 3 more week delay in my deck project. A few days later the order delivery was supposed to be Saturday: but Sunday morning the order finally came and still some items were missing due to being out of stock and I had to go to another store to get these items. Approximately 2 weeks later I got my Lowes Pro Credit Care Bill; but was charge twice for the Sakcrete mix and the anchor, which I had cancelled. I still paid my bill in full to avoid interest on just paying the minimum balance. I have shown the store on the other part of the bill that is to be kept by customer, that I was charge twice for these items. I went to the service desk and it took about 2 hours to get this resolved and they said it will be credited toward my next bill after they have entered the data into their computer. When I have receive my next bill after a month later, still this was not credited to my bill. On my next bill, I have went to the service desk again and had spent another 2 hours of my time including line wait time at the service desk to get this resolved, the personnel kept giving the run-around by asking other employees on how to get this problem resolved. They finally paid me that amount in cash when the manager of the store came to the service desk. Lowes needs to dramatically improve their delivery service, update their obsolete computers and have much better customer service. As big of a company as Lowes is there is no reason to not deliver the materials on time. I could see maybe one or two items occasional. If Lowes continues this poor delivery service, contractors will go elsewhere I.E. to ace hardware and Home Depot to avoid delays on their projects. Also, management needs to improve greatly. read more

I have not been inside this location, I just came for the garden center. It was during the height of the outdoor season and everything looked beautiful. They had a huge selection and were well stocked on the essentials. The staff inside the garden center was friendly and helpful. Their online inventory seemed to match what they actually had so I was able to grab everything I came for and then some nice plants too! This location has a huge dedicated parking lot and is easy to access from 275. Prices are reasonable. read more

It seems like you either like Lowe's or you don't. I personally think it depends on what you're looking for. If you're in the market for home improvement that involves contractors, you may not want to use Lowe's as they can be a bit pricey on certain things, like having new shingles installed on your roof. We went with another company for that and saved several hundreds of dollars. But if you're looking for diy stuff, Lowe's is the place. They usually have what we're looking for and the prices are pretty fair. Occasionally you might find something a little cheaper at the other big box home improvement store. The one they don't have here at Lowe's is tool rental. We needed to rent a big tiller for work we were doing in our back yard and didn't want to buy one just for a single use. So we had to go to that other store to rent one. Every spring their garden center has a great selection of annuals and perennials. If you wait long enough those plants will go on sale and you can get a really good deal. The customer service is okay. Everyone I've personally dealt with have been nice, but having to track an employee down for help can be time consuming and annoying. read more

I have literally spent thousands of dollars and been at this Lowe's at least a few dozen times this year alone! The workers are usually friendly and knowledgeable (but bear in mind some simply do not know how to fix your problem) and the selection of tools and supplies is on par with the big orange square. Navigating this massive store can be challenging so I recommend searching for your purchases and writing down the aisles/sections for quick access. The endcaps in the middle of the store have discount items usually from returns or closeouts. Be alert about any missing pieces. Speaking of returns, their policy is fairly generous and I have certainly returned hundreds of dollars worth of items that I (fortunately) did not need. Other helpful things: There are frequent DIY workshops teaching everything from container gardening to basic plumbing. Cell signal is not the best inside the store (it's a big metal box). I've watched YouTube repair videos and buffering was painful. Their app is decent and useful for quick searching but the best search experience is on a computer. The bathroom is in the far back center of the store. Currently the water fountains are all wrapped in plastic to prevent the spread of germs (Covid-19 related). read more

On a quest for kitchen cabinets, we finally decided to check out Lowe's. Everyone we have sought advice from has recommended places other than Lowe's. Each person insisting the establishment they recommend will give us the most bang for our buck. In fact many have mentioned the same place. After multiple trips, (not to mention multiple hours,) to stores that sell kitchen cabinets, we were surprised to find Lowe's had a promotion running making their cabinets the lowest price for all wood construction. Not only that, but the lower price allowed us to add some premium upgrades, and still come in less than the other quotes. My husband went back a couple of days later to tweek a couple of things, and to place the order. Once cabinets are ordered, all communication is with the manufacturer. Cabinets were delivered when promised. The cabinet delivery company did an excellent job. They were carefully, friendly, and did not leave our home smelling like cigarette smoke. After getting the kitchen cabinet quote, we meandered around the store looking for additional items we needed. Most were easy to find. For those that weren't easy to find, sales associates helped us find our way. For some items, their selection is smaller than other Lowe's. Cashier during our first visit wasn't particularly friendly. She made it clear that helping when an item doesn't scan is a bother. On future visits we have had less luck in finding assistance. Our first visit has been the only one that help was readily available. On our last visit the only person we could find to help told us she had already called someone over for someone else. We waited with the "someone else" for about 10 minutes. The associate still had yet to materialize. We decided to buy the small items we had in our cart, and buy the large item we neede help with elsewhere. Customer service at checkout continues to be lacking. We have returned several times because of our first experience. We have yet to have another truly good experience. read more

Replacing a fridge, range, and microwave and we are so happy that we did it all at Lowe's with Flip. Flip was the kindest most helpful salesman we have ever worked with. Explained every single detail of the process, walked us through everything and made sure we got as many discounts as possible. Hopefully we don't need to replace any other major applicants anytime soon but if we did need to I would come see Flip again! Manager had to come help a few times too and he was also polite and helpful. Side note: Our first stop of the night was Lowe's, shopped around some and no where else had prices that compared so we went back to Lowe's to make our purchase. Very positive experience doing something that we don't have a ton of experience doing, so super pleased with the whole evening. And super excited about having 2 refrigerators! read more

Can't give a zero! DO NOT EVER purchase flooring to be installed!! You have been warned. Our install was to be completed 14 days prior to our move in date. Was not done until 8 days after. Which incurred an issue for us as we were moving in. The moving company had to store our furniture and belongings during the delay at a cost of $4,500.00. When we arrived in our home a man was eating in our kitchen, spilled his pop and ran out the door! Yes, ran out and claimed someone would be back on a Sunday to tile 2 bathrooms and a laundry room! After reviewing our alarm system he had been in our home for 5 days past 12:41am on one day and there most days up until 10:00pm. He had not even put the subfloor in. We have had numerous conversations about this with Lowe's in Highland Heights and cooperate. ALL have not returned calls, we have had to call constantly to ensure the work would be done. Moved into a new home and needed to spend about 15 grand here. That didn't happen. 11am on a Thursday and stood in both appliances and flooring for over 30 min with no assistance. Left frustrated but realized this is a severe operations defect in this specific building and not a representation of my experience with other locations across the country. So I reached out to the manager. (Wish I had remembered his name but I'm sure a district manager could figure out who that would have been on 7/7) He offered no solutions only told me I was lying and there was no way I was calling the right store because he personally was right at that moment standing in the flooring section.......cause you know......thats where store managers are best suited.....selling flooring smh I won't be lied to nor berated. Will never be doing buisness here. Got greeted and helped within 2 seconds of walking into the same sections of Home Depot right down the road. I know I'm suppose to hate big box stores and all they stand for. If I need an extra part I have to wait until they open again. So I go to Lowes in Highland Heights and increasingly Home Depot in Cold Spring. Sure they're monolithic corporations but only if you limit your view. For one, all the employees are local. Don't they deserve a paycheck and decent benefits? But as Tip O'Neil said of politics, It's all local. If you're a home owner and especially a home owner of a house old enough to collect social security you spend a lot of time at these places. In doing so, you get to know the guys who work the electrical, painting and plumbing sections. For example, the painting guys at Lowes are great. Very helpful. If you're blowing your money on something silly - as I usually try to do - they'll warn you off if you ask their advice. I go to Lowe's for my paint stuff. I go to Lowes for my garden stuff too. I've not noticed a difference between them an Home Depot and since Lowes is closer they get my Gardening dollars. But for plumbing I go to Home Depot. Why? They're helpful whereas at Lowes I always seem to get this grumpy old man roaming the plumbing aisle looking for someone to condescend to. At Home Depot I get some young dude who is trained in plumbing but hasn't found a job yet that's enough to make him leave (or so he told me). He's helpful and creative (another trait of owners of old homes). On electrical stuff, it's a tie. Both are equally unhelpful. read more

I have to downgrade my review for Lowe's a bit because while there are still very helpful department-specific experts who will go the extra mile, in my last couple visits I haven't had good experiences. One was related to store associates who didn't know much about the department they were helping in; even directing to an incorrect product (part that didn't go) in one case. The front desk customer service people are the least helpful folks in the store, in my opinion, and have not made me feel like a valued customer at all. On a recent visit no one knew the answer to my question and I stood around waiting for a long time without getting any help. I was also told two different things about a promotion/discount by two different customer service people, much to my annoyance when the second contradicted the first, to my detriment. Net, you can still find helpful, department-specific experts at Lowe's who really care about the customer, but sometimes you might have to seek them out, and avoid the front customer service desk if possible! read more

My husband and I just bought a 100 year old house in Fort Thomas. Sooo ... yeah, we've hit up this Lowe's a few times recently. I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised with the level of customer service. I'm don't have a ton of experience with DIY (though, I will be gaining a lot very soon), so I was very glad that last time I came in how helpful the employees were. Specifically, I had a great experience with the paint department. They were fairly busy when I walked in, but the the man working said he would be right with me, and he was. I probably had 35 questions to ask, because we have freshly re-plastered walls and not dry wall. The man was very knowledgeable, attentive, and answered every one of my questions. He even gave me tips on how best to use the weekend's paint rebates. Pro tip - if there is a sale on paint, you can buy what you need, and they'll mix it for free later. All in all, a great experience. I have a friend who is a contractor, and he does all of his business with this Lowe's. It's kind of tucked away, which is nice. Because although it's a big box hardware store, you still get the feeling of a local experience. read more

Lou the Paint Guy is the best thing this Lowe's has to offer. He's been in the paint industry since the 1960s and worked at Perry & Derrick prior to coming to Highland Heights. Talking to Lou is just like getting handyman advice from my dad. So far, Lou has helped me: - Find the correct stain to refinish a hutch and gave me application tips. - Find the right mix of paint for cabinetry versus walls. - Saved me money with his knowledge of paint varieties. (custom mixed vs. off-the-shelf) - Instead of hard-selling me things, Lou takes the time to explain products and compares them to my needs. My projects have inevitably brought me back to Lowe's a dozen times for more supplies, and each time, I go straight to Lou. If, by chance, Lou is not there and you need assistance, head towards the back of the store. The guys working the booths in the secondary main aisle are also very knowledgeable about products. Also remember, the older folks have more hardware knowledge than the younger folks (and more passion about projects too.) A lot of the younger workers are from NKU and don't know their stuff. One time, I had to explain what chair railing was and how knots in the grain of wood indicated poor quality and didn't "add character." Oy. In summary, go to Lowe's, find Lou. You'll be well taken care of. read more

Friday I was again helping my dad run some errands. My dad has a very organized house. He always knows when he is getting low on things and then he overstocks on it to not be low again in the near future. Today it was 16×25×1 furnace filters. Thus we found ourselves at Lowe's again. Upon walking in he headed for the customer service desk and asked the female associate where to find furnace filters. We were directed to aisle #14 just a short walk down on the right. There is actually a sign on the end cap for furnace filters. Here is where the adventure begins. You have to chose not only the correct size but also the quality rating of it based on what it filters out. They had basic Filtrate filters and then there are the ones that filter out many other things like mold, pollen and pet hair. There are also single packs and multi packs. Of course the big difference to me is the price of the basic verses the more specialized filters as they all look pretty much the same. Sometimes I think there are just too many product brands and types to choose from. And I am a little untrusting of all the claims being made. My dad chose several basic multi packs of filters instead of the ones that cost about $10 more for just one. When checking out he asked for the veterans discount. The very friendly associate did not even ask him for verification which my dad freely admitted he had not submitted the actual application to get. I really appreciated the respect shown my dad. Beyond frustrating! I've never experienced service like this before! I bought a refrigerator on 7/25 that was in the clearance section and it was marked that it had been repaired. Since I've never had any issues buying clearance or scratch/dent, I purchased it. Got it delivered on 8/12 with parts missing. Had to wait until the next day to put it all together and it doesn't work. I immediately called Lowe's and they refused to fix it even though they sold it as already being repaired. They won't even extend my 30 day return date to try to get Samsung to repair it, even though it sat waiting to be delivered for 3 weeks! read more

My husband and I went here to pick up a water heater, I found the one I liked but it was on the second self. After hunting down an employee and showing them the one I wanted he called for another employee to get it down. After a good 30 mins of waiting for someone to come get it down and trying to convince my husband not to get it down himself. The employee comes with a fork lift, I tell him which one I want and he tells me nope you can't have that it's "icb" I don't know what that means. I ask him why it's on the shelf if I can't buy it. He said someone else is coming to buy it, he is supposed to be on his way. Okay if it is on hold why is it on the shelf? I am here now with the $500 so I secretly hope this mystery someone doesn't come to purchase it and the are out a sale. I am officially done with Lowes I have had way too many negative experiences. I usually like this store in Highland Heights. However, this time I had a bad experience at the cash registers. I don't like using the self-checkout registers.I feel like the store could at least have 1 register open to check customers out. There was a person at the checkout. I asked this young man to check me out he acted like it was a big deal. He told me to use the self-checkout and I told him I did not work at this store and he needed to check me out. Well, he finally checked me out he threw one of my purchases on the floor and the rest he did not put in a bag. So I put the products in the bag.I was very disappointed with the store not having a line open for their customers. If this continues I will find a different store or I will go to Home Depot. Some people prefer having a person check me out.I am retired and I have put in my time.I really like Lowes to any other hardware store. If you order something online and need it delivered, don't expect it to ever arrive to you by the date that they give you. I ordered a range in early August and it was supposed to be delivered on 8/10 with a window of 8 am to 8 pm. I received the confirmation email the day before and at the bottom of the email it said that the store would contact me with a 2 hour window. I did not receive any type of call or email at all the morning of 8/10. Called the store 6 times to figure out when my range would arrive, no one could tell me a straight answer except that the driver loaded it on the truck. At this point it was already noon, I had been sitting around the house all morning waiting for it to show up. Received 2 emails from Lowe's saying that the delivery was changed to 8/18. On my sixth call I finally was able to talk to a manager and asked him why couldn't the range be delivered if it was on the truck and what the issue was. He couldn't give me an answer but he gave me a discount and said that the earliest delivery date they can do is 8/15. Fast forward to 8/15: called the store at 8 am to find out the delivery window, and the associate said it was still scheduled for 8/18. Talked to a manager and he was able to work something out with the delivery department to still send it out on 8/15. An hour or so after this call, he leaves a message saying that they discovered that my range had been damaged. Decided that waiting on a new range from Lowe's would just be a bigger waste of my time so went ahead with the refund. Went to the store on my lunch break since part of my payment was with a gift card and that I would have to come in to receive this back. Customer service desk employees seemed like they would rather be any place else than earning money at Lowe's and the girl that was "trying to help" me kept answering the phone and would have rather long conversations while she was processing my return. After waiting for 15 minutes she said that she doesn't know how to process online order refunds and that the person that does know how to is on break (still baffles me). So since I myself was on break, she took my contact information. Luckily the other employee was able to get back to me within an hour and said she was able to process my refund, but now I have to go back there and pick up my refunded gift card. In short, unless you are going in there for something small and something that you know they have and can't mess it up, DO NOT SHOP AT THIS LOWE'S. read more

Horrible is the best way to describe my experience tonight in the appliance dept. I am ready to buy a Bosch #500 dishwasher and a LG range. The sales person was talking with another gentleman. I waited for them to finish talking. While waiting another person walks into the dept. The sales person decided to help this customer instead of help next in line. This customer buys a washer and dryer. I am still waiting to be acknowledge. The salesperson finally acknowledges me and asked if I had questions. I said no I want to buy a dishwasher and possibly a range. He said he would be right back to help. I waited 25 minutes and he never return. While waiting a sales lady walks into the department. Two gentlemen who came in well after me, she decides to help them first. She answers their questions then walks away. She walked past me and never said word to me. I decided to leave. As I was walking up to the front the sales person walks past and didn't even try to stop me. I arrived around 6:30PM and left at 7:25. Lowe's lost between $1500.00 to $2000.00 sale tonight. So much friendlier than the Florence location. Florence lady yelled at me because I needed help loading a grill. I left and went to Home Depot and had great service. beware!!! we are at the end of month 4 on a 3 week project... they have sent 3 different installers to our home that have each ripped out all previous installers work and still down to studs!! they ran over our septic tank lid first day..still haven't fixed that!! chipped my new tub took 3 weeks to get new one to find out it was the wrong tub, another 2 weeks till right tub was delivered,the tile lots were way different colors waited 3 more weeks for new special order tile to get in, had to move vent 3 times still not right, still waiting on linen closet that was ordered 5 months ago because they sent me 3 others that we're damaged, all installers said lowes doesn't pay them enough to do this work yet they didn't show up til 11 everyday and would leave by 4 ...shower walls they put up had to come back down 3/4 inch off square which is why tile looked like shit, door jams had to come back out, they ordered two different color schluter strips.........really this has no exaggeration and i'm sure i'm leaving out alot !!!!!!! frustrated beyond words!! bless they're heart though they offered me 6000 dollars back on a 13000 dollar job and aren't returning....wtf calling my attorney tomorrow...suggest you look elsewhere!!!!!! read more

I was at Lowe's last Saturday in the plant and garden area. It was very hot, but I was just shopping for plants and flowers, not doing hard labor. I pushed my cart of plants into the checkout area just inside. I walked back into the main area of Lowe's to grab a hose nozzle. I came back to check out in less than five minutes. As I was walking to the checkout counter, the women left the counter and locked the gate. She told me to check out inside. She refused to check me out and was very rude. I pushed my cart inside with people staring at the cart wondering why I was inside the store. I told them that the hateful woman wouldn't check me out. Even at the counter inside the store, the employee was making excuses for her, saying "It's too hot to be outside." I told her that apparently it didn't matter if the customers were outside in the heat. I also told her that the customers provide the money to pay her. This store is going downhill fast. Too many of the workers are rude, hateful and just downright nasty to customers. Lowe's didn't use to be this crappy. Is there a different manager now? read more
