Amazing, this store. Family run, full of everything you never knew you needed. I went in on a lunch hour and came out with a clothesline. I was grateful to the family for taking over this location after a VERY old family run hardware went out of business. Klingenburgs is a local gem--perfect for neighborhood dwellers who don't want to drive to Buttermilk Pike or to Alexandria to the nearest Lowes or Home Depot; but also perfect because they care. I've never gone in without someone acknowledging me and I'm completely amazed by the amount of goods they carry--including pet supplies and farm fencing options. read more

I was in the middle of a project and just had to have a special type of anchor... unfortunately it was in the middle of a snowstorm. Just didn't feel safe driving all the way to the Home Depot 20 minutes away. So I yelped it! And came upon this hidden gem just a 5 minute drive from my house. As soon as I walked in, I was taken in by one of the employees as one of those idiots that needed some hands-on help. I was helped through every step of my project and the employee (whose name I really wish I had gotten) patiently waited when I had to make the inevitable call home for more info. I am so glad places like this still exist in this world- where service and the customer is king. You may pay a little more and they may not have the selection of a big box store... But maybe that isn't what you really want in a hardware store. read more

This is my "go-to" hardware store. Locally owned and very helpful. They have most everything I need for whatever DIY project I am doing. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. Prices are very reasonable! I can't recommend Klingenberg's enough! read more

I have been shopping with Klingenberg's for 24 years... Electrical supply houses do not sell screws, so this store has them... Lots of good "working man" screws, wood, paint and related construction items... read more

You could save the world with the products offered at Klingenberg's. They have a little bit of everything and a very knowledgeable staff. No need to go to the big box stores of Lowes and Home Depot, these guys will help you with almost every step of the project. The only thing they don't have is Wood, but you can always go to Kelly Bros. read more

A good hardware store. They usually have everything I am looking for. I got a perfect yellow level there for 5 bucks. The people there are always helpful. A really good alternative to the Home Depot variety of hardware store. A small store relatively, but they seem to have everything but lumber. read more

One of the best stores in Covington, KY!! Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Tell them what you're looking for and they will take you right to it and do everything they can to make sure you get exactly what you need. On the subject of price, I shop around often in order to quote jobs and I have found them to be quite comparable to Lowe's and the like and sometimes even quite a bit cheaper! Great people with a great selection= no need to roam around a giant store to get a screw or anything else you might need. Klingenburg's has it all!!! read more

Horrible customer service. I have been a regular customer and was in there at least once a week for several months. We went to pick up the last round of paint for our house (we had already bought 13 gallons before) and the worker said "well we're closing in an hour so I'm not tinting any paint on a Saturday." He wouldn't even do one gallon when he was holding the formula in his hand. He was so rude, saying "well if you think that's unacceptable, then tough." It takes all of 5 minutes to tint paint. No "sorry", no actual reason he wouldn't do it. He just didn't feel like doing his job. You have lost several customers because of this. read more

what a great store..a woman can go in have an idea of what she needs to accomplish..and the employees always steer me in the right direction..if you only need one brass wood screw that is what you can buy..not a bag of 8..hours are great and you can be in and out in a matter of minutes..cash or credit card only no checks.. read more
