Visited the Lowe's garden center today. There is a huge variety and all of the plants looked healthy! The prices were good and seemed fair. They unfortunately were short staffed and the staff rushed us. Other than that everything was fine. read more

Not a fan of the presence of the flock camera. There's no disclosure to this information and they have cameras pointed into their parking lot. As of now if you look online, there's a lot of controversy around this practice for businesses. I understand the need for loss prevention, but the loss of privacy is very concerning. Overall, if they were more transparent with what they're doing with that information, it would be more reassuring. Unfortunately, all the hardware stores now have adopted this type of technology without really getting the consent of their consumers. Other than that often when I come here, the prices are average at best unless there's a sale on an item. That's the main downside of shopping at this large box store. read more

My wife and I had quite possibly the worst shopping experience we've ever had with ANY retailer before at Lowe's. We recently purchased a new fridge from them. It was a special order color so it was gonna take a couple weeks to get here. We asked our sales rep Evan if there was a way we could pay to have the delivery guys move our old fridge into our basement for us while delivering the new one. His answer was "yes they can and they will do that free. They only charge you if you need the old one hauled away." I confirmed that with him several times, too. So when the new fridge arrives the delivery driver asks me if anyone called me about the fridge before they got there. No. So he proceeded to tell me that the fridge in the truck was DAMAGED and REPACKAGED. He even showed me a label on the side of the box that said that. I asked him how it was damaged and he said the compressor was damaged. He asked if I wanted to accept the fridge and I said absolutely not. So he called Lowe's on speaker to tell them I was refusing the fridge. They did not give me a straight answer as to why they knowingly sent me a broken fridge when we paid for a brand new one. They ordered a new fridge to be delivered later but it was several weeks out so now we had to wait longer. Before leaving the delivery driver said he saw in the notes that we needed the old fridge moved to the basement. He THEN told me that's not something they do. Apparently they only move it out of the way to put the new fridge in! (This is a distribution warehouse that Lowe's hires outside of the company.) the driver told me they've always had the policy that they can't move old appliances around the house. Just that they do haul away if that's needed. The Lowe's employee on the phone argued with him on speaker phone to say that they absolutely should move the old fridge but the driver said he's not allowed to per his company policy. Then the employee on the phone said "well yea they can't move it if it's down stairs" completely changing his story. I told him I expected it to be moved because that's what was promised to me when I bought the new fridge. And then he said that's not something they are allowed to do! Unbelievable. So the driver leaves with the broken fridge and I immediately drove over to Lowe's to talk to a manger. I spoke with Connor the assistant store manager at the Lowe's on Illinois rd. Because he said the store manager was unavailable. I explained the scenario to Connor, and Connor confirmed they don't move old appliances. So I asked him what they could do to make this right since their associate straight lied to me multiple times saying that was part of the deal. Connor wrote up an email to their "appeasement department" (which if you have an entire department in your company dedicated to that it should be a sign your customer service is abysmal.) Connor showed me the email and asked what I'd like to edit. I made the edits to get the story straight and watched him hit send on it. He said we would have to wait to see what they say they can do to remedy the problem. Fine. This was last Friday. Fast forward to today. Almost a WEEK later and I had heard nothing from them. So I called and asked for Connor again. The long story short is that Connor told me someone should've reached out to me to follow up(seems to be a theme to blame other people for things). I told him I'd heard nothing. He looked up the email and the warehouse, which he had copied on the email, responded and once again confirmed they do NOT move old appliances. No email from the appeasement dept. so Connor tells me there's nothing he can do and they won't move our old fridge like we were promised multiple times. I said this needed to be made right because not only was I lied to about the old fridge being moved, they sent a damaged fridge to me too. He said he could email appeasement again but that it could take 1-2 weeks for a response (new fridge arriving in less time than that) and the only thing they'd do is decide how much money to give back to me on a LOWES GIFT CARD. So, the company that lied to us and screwed us over won't honor their promise to move the old fridge, sent us a broken fridge, and now says they'll make it right with a gift card that can only be spent in their store?! Absolutely enraging. I told Connor I wanted to talk to the store manager and of course, he said the manager was conveniently unavailable again. He also said the manager is going to tell me the same thing he did and there's nothing that can be done about this. So at this point, Lowe's has lost all of our respect because it's clear they will tell you anything to make a sale even if it means flat out lying to you. We will never be giving them our business again and we are going to go find the fridge we want elsewhere. Do not shop at Lowe's. They are liars and they don't care about you or providing good service to their customers. Worst. Experience. EVER! read more

Lowes typically has the items we need in a pinch when we are doing home projects. We've ran to Lowe's several times a day on more than one occasion getting supplies that we've needed. The kids workshop is also great to when they offer them. The home & garden section has a great selection of plants. However, I wish they would get a better selection of hanging house plants. They keep getting golden pothos. Yes, they are gorgeous. But we want some other types & varieties. The staff is always helpful & kind. You can find an associate just about in every aisle you turn. The store is clean, so are the restrooms. read more

A public service announcement: Check and photograph your carpet cleaner before you leave the store. I rented a Bissell carpet cleaner from the Lowe's on Illinois Road in Ft. Wayne. The Service Desk person told me I was in luck because the guy who cleans the machines had just been there. When I got the machine home, the roller was dirty, the little grey wheels underneath were dirty, and there were a couple of clumps of hair underneath( see photos). I would have inspected it myself, but they keep them locked up in a cabinet and I trusted what they said . I cleaned it with my steam cleaner and a toothbrush before I wiped it down and finally was able to start cleaning my carpets. After I got done cleaning, I rinsed the tanks wiped off the roller and wiped down the machine. When I took it back, the same Service Desk person checked the roller and said " this is dirty. There's hair on the roller. Remember when I told you yesterday that this machine was just cleaned? So it didn't have hair on it then. " I told her it was dirty when I got it and that other than picking out the fuzz and tiny hairs out of each and every roller brush, I had followed the instructions. She said " your contract says you have to restore it to factory condition" She finally gave me my deposit back, but needless to say, I won't be renting a carpet cleaner from there again and I will be avoiding the store whenever possible in the future. We made a purchase for 11 new windows- the order came in before expected (awesome) but picking the windows up was a complete and utter disaster. A 2 and 1/2 hour+ process. It began with Customer Service. The cashier called someone in Millwork, who never answered. After a few more phone calls, a gentleman appeared and confirmed the 11 windows. Said gentleman went back to get the windows- after 30 minutes...6 windows appeared. We loaded them and said- "Great can we now have the additional 5?" to a different cashier who was half checking us out. "Sure! He said he would be back." 45 minutes later I approached the same cashier in the Pro department, and she says "I'm not sure where he went". I asked her to call him. She refused. She then said she would call the manager. She calls the manger who says "we will take care of it." I decided to stay at her counter until something happened. Another 30 minutes went by and I asked her again- to do something. She shrugs and says "I don't know". By now- I'm not happy at all. I found another employee who was walking around, doing nothing...and said "I have windows in the back to pick up. Apparently they need some additional help. Can you please go back there?" He says, "oh yeah they called me and said xyz employee needed help- I guess I should go." I said "Yep. You should". An additional 30 minutes, a piss poor explanation for the delay (couldn't find them, on a pallet, to far in the back) and me refusing to leave until I had ALL the windows ended up with the addition 5. Never again. Ever. Worst customer service on a 4k purchase I have ever had. read more

Just had the best appliance buying experience from Saul. Extremely friendly, very knowledgeable about all the specials. Just as great of an experience at Customer Service applying for the credit card and again at checkout. They couldn't get the right special deal on the cash register but called their support unit to ensure my credit was properly applied. Since I was taking up extra time at the register and the line was backing up they quickly deployed THREE more people to open registers and get folks speedy service! I will be back! read more

Never get granite countertops from Lowe's especially from the Lowe's store located at Illinois rd in Fort Wayne Indiana!!! Worst experience I have ever had! I purchased granite countertops three months ago for my kitchen and bathrooms and hired a plumber through Lowe's, but the plumber was so inexperienced that he put silicon around our kitchen sink plumbing causing a huge water leak in the kitchen and water leaks in the bathroom damaging our cabinets and our bathrooms as well. We had water run down into our basement, when I addressed this with the claims department they told me they will give me $2121.48 for the damage when changing the kitchen cabinets and removing the granite countertops and plumbing will cost $9295.04(estimate from Lowe's). I did not even address the bathroom cabinets!! So when I addressed this with the claims guy telling him the fixed rate of sink disconnect and reconnect from Lowe's is higher than from his estimate, to my surprise basically telling me that LOWE's IS OVER CHARGING. Telling me that he doesn't have to match anything and his estimate does not have to match Lowe's rates. When I kept questioning, he finally told me as a "customer service gesture" I will match the sink disconnect and reconnect rate adding $280. When I asked where his numbers came from, he said it's from a licensed person. Where does he want me to get this fixed!! He also said "good for you" if you want to change your cabinets, but we can't cover it. Well we wouldn't have needed to get new cabinets in the first place if they weren't damaged!! There's also a risk of the granite countertops breaking in half, so when I addressed that with him as well he told me that he can't guarantee he will cover that when it happens! I mean it's granite countertops installed by Lowe's only three months ago!!! Telling me that he will consider it if it happens, but can't give me any signed guarante and pressuring me to sign the release sending me an email every single day including Sunday and constantly telling me I have 15 days to sign a release form I am not satisfied with. Also advising me to contact my homeowners insurance to take care of Lowe's workmanship error!!! (I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP HAVE THE CALL RECORDED) I asked for his supervisor's number called her more than 10 times left two voicemails and even sent an accelerated request through customer service still NO CALL BACK!!! So I called corporate spoke to Becky, she tells me she can't help me as of now but will call me back that day NO CALL BACK!!! I paid $2778 just for plumbing for the kitchen and bathrooms, which they big time screwed up and they are telling me they will give me $2121.48 plus $280 and no guarantee in covering the countertops breaking. I have wasted so much of my time. Worst experience ever!!! It was the worst decision I have ever made!!!! I have called countless times just to get a price on a door. Waiting on hold for 10 minutes at a time sometimes. Never can get anyone to answer phone. Then told by front desk person does not come in for over hour. If your open, you should have staff to take care of people, rather on site or on phone. My fiance and I have just moved to Fort Wayne from California. I wasn't expecting much based on the reviews here, but this location is closest to our home. I have had nothing but positive interactions with employees at this location after three visits. There does seem to always be someone around to ask questions to, and they have all been positive and helpful. I have to give a huge shout out to Kiara and Lynda who handled a refund rebuild for me after the Lowes online credit card system said I was declined a line of credit, then found out through credit karma that I was approved. They were able to match the sale items I purchased on my personal credit card during labor day weekend, refund it, and then charge it onto my new Lowes card. This was a huge help to me! They handled the whole situation calmly, and with a smile on their face, even though I could understand what a frustrating process it was for them. Five years ago I purchased porcelain tile at Lowes and had it installed. The installation was an absolute nightmare from start to finish, to the point that I was offered a partial refund without asking. I recently decided to give Lowes a second chance since they assured me that they no longer used that company because they had received so many complaints about them. I was told by Lowes and the installer that the charge is 4 dollars a foot for tile installation. Tonight I went in to get my installation quote from Lowes. Not only did SEVERAL of the items not have a price quoted but the total quote was 3 times what they estimated. When I demanded they tell me what the prices were that were missing I found that the installation was $1908.25, but they added several extra fees, that I feel they were trying to hide. In the end my $1908.25 turned out to be $5,158.99 Never again will I trust Lowes or allow them to install anything in my house. If you have flooring installed make sure they tell you the price for EVERYTHING on your quote! read more

Staff member Marissa went above and beyond to help us get our new washer and dryer quickly, when the schedule was full for several weeks. It was wonderful to get a working washer when ours was broken with a busy family of four laundry piles up quickly. The delivery crew was very pleasant and showed up within the time period promised. They helped us out by detaching our old plug from the dryer and hooking up the washer and steam line for the dryer. read more

My parents spent over 4k purchasing new windows for their house from this location. My dad fell off of scaffolding working on the house. Because I'm a good kid. I volunteered to go pick up the window order do to the fact that he just got out of the hospital the previous day. It took the "Experts at Lowe's" 15 minutes to locate the first 5 of 11 windows . It took a total of 2-1/2 hours to find the other 6..... Every single employee was in a zero care 1st gear , I don't care state of mind. 2.5 hours !!!! For an order that was placed weeks ago and all we needed to do was pick them up. I will never, NEVER step foot in this store and I urge everyone else to stay away. They even tried after 2 hours to give an excuse of why they couldn't bring them to the front of the store. We live 2 hours away , we drove to fort Wayne to help my parents out so they didn't have to worry about it. What great customer service! What a joke, and no they weren't short staffed. The worst carpet purchase experience we have every had and it's still on-going. Despite giving Lowe's all our carpet business and enjoying their low labor prices, we finally need to severe this relationship. We do 2-3 big carpet jobs with Lowes on Illinois every single month and we are growing and were expecting to double this business this year. Our first job almost a year ago was perfect. We went into the store picked out carpet and scheduled a measurement. A day later we got a call to have the space measured. Two days after that we received a quote and went in to pay for it. A couple days later it was installed perfectly. A great experience. However, each subsequent experience has gotten worst and worst. Now we go in to order and it takes the better part of an hour to get the order entered and get out the store, despite the fact that we order the same carpet every time and its in stock. After that we just don't get a call back most of the time and have to constantly call for updates and talk to different people who don't even know our business. Lots of promises about 72 hour installs but the bottom line is they don't seem to even know who we are when we call, even though we are literally there several times per month and know the associates by name. Our 72 hour to install has turned into an incredible 22 days and counting on our last job!!!! It has taken 3 weeks to a month from the time we order to the time carpet is finally installed! We manage rentals - so every day of delay is money out of our client's pockets and ours. They keep promising to do better on next job but it only gets worst and worst and worst. We can't do it any more. We have to find another affordable source. We were hoping to grow with Lowe's but their poor service and lack of follow up makes this impossible. On a good note, we have not had issue with the quality of install. Just the disorganized, incoherent service in the carpet department. I didn't want to do this review. We have been very patient but if this helps them fix a broken system then maybe it will be worth it. In the meantime, we are looking for other sources for carpet starting today. I purchased a John Deere riding lawn mower from the Illinois store. The mower was to be delivered Thursday and I was to receive a call about one hour prior to arrival so that I could get home to be there for the delivery. A few days later I purchased 205 landscape blocks that was to be included with the delivery of the mower. At the end of my work day and no call, I went home to find the mower sitting on my porch. No call, no note, and no rock. Spending over an hour on the phone with their customer service, getting cut off once and on hold numerous times, I walked out to inspect the mower to find that the front end was damaged, the head light cracked and scratched, the hood and the bumper guard all dinged, scratched and damaged. I informed the customer service rep that I do not accept this mower and they will have to come pick it up and bring me a new one. He then asked if I had signed for it - and again I had to remind him that no one called me and I found the mower on my porch when I got home from work. After an hour I was told that the manager would call me to let me know when a replacement mower would be delivered. Needless to say, I received no call. My son went into the Lowe's first thing this morning (Friday) and took pictures of the damaged mower. The manager had no concerns and essentially said she would call me sometime on Monday to let me know when a replacement will be made. Guess I'll go another week without a mower and hope the next one is not damaged. THANK YOU LOWES! read more
