tried buying two smoke/carbon monoxide alarms and asked the Lowes person if the one ai was buying would be capable with what I had. I explained what I had and explained the fittings behind the alarm as the one I was buying did not show the back fitting. my one has like a three prong metal hard wired that plugs into the base of the alarm. He assured me it would. It did not but found out only after opening the package and trying to replace. Why do I even bother going to Lowe's anymore. I spend thousands here, until now. All over a pack of 8 concrete screws that were on the shelf that they said they could not sell to me because they were marked to be sent back to the warehouse. 10/20/25 I entered Lowe's through the South door. I was not greeted, the employees that I passed did not make eye contact with me and a couple of them looked angry. I was doing my best to find the items that I needed, definitely walking in circles. I had previously decided that I was not going to shop at Lowe's anymore because of a problem that I had with the credit card that I had opened and quickly closed . But somehow, here I was. I had just worked two days on the surgical floor and I was completely exhausted. So here I am, on my day off, trying to take care of my responsibilities. I have to admit, I was feeling a bit saddened by the state of the world. I remember a time when you would walk into a store and people were smiling and eager to help. That is not the environment that I was in, until I met Olivia. I was in front of the north door near the lumber. I was plotting out, in my head, the next process of how I was going to find the next item that I needed. Olivia approached me and asked me if I needed help. I told her I knew what I needed, but I didn't know if there was such a thing. She stood in front of me, smiling, and listening to me. When I finished explaining it to her, she smiled and said that she would take me to someone that knew more than she did about how to help me. She walked me over to a desk and explained to the lady what I needed. The nice lady told me what I needed, and where I could find it. As I turned, Olivia, still smiling, said," where did you get your glasses? I love your glasses. They are beautiful." I told her and thanked her. We had a little bit more of a conversation and she said, " come back here when you get your items, and I will check you out!" On my walk to get the item and on my walk back, I couldn't help but think about the beautiful light that Olivia is. Olivia wasn't standing in a corner, looking at her phone. Olivia didn't have her head down, angry about the state of the world, which is what I was doing. Olivia had her eyes open, she was present in her job, not taking advantage of a slight lull in activity, she was awake, connected and interested in participating and helping others. She noticed that I needed help and she approached me with a smile, with kindness and enthusiasm. What Olivia did was go above and beyond what was expected of her. She recognized a need, she didn't just solve my problem, she changed the way that I felt about the position that I was in. I am expressing all of this in hopes that you all can see in Olivia what I did. I hope that you reward her well for what she brings to your store. I hope that Olivia knows how special she is, and that she never stops caring for people, no matter where she is. And when you give her kudos for the amazing job she's done, tell her I said she should become a nurse. She has what it takes, the ability recognize a need, come up with a solution and make others feel comfortable and cared for. And, because of her, I'm not going to give up on Lowe's. i ordered a refrigerator and was told i would recieve it on wednesday. they called me day of and said they damaged it. could they deliver a different one next week. of course i said yes no problem. but the following week on wednesday when they said they would deliver they rescheduled WITHOUT contacting me. then the following monday (the day i was rescheduled to) they changed it again WITHOUT contacting me. I ordered from this store but my main complaint is with the order itself. First they tied up $3000 of my money for 8 days. They hold the funds and submit the charge which totaled $6000. Then they kept changing the delivery date. it went from 2 weeks and then to 4 weeks before I cancelled the order. They have no way to leave feedback and no one there cares whether you use them or not. Hone Depot brought my order the same day, no problem. And the delivery driver couldn't have been nicer. LOWE'S MANAGER DEVOID OF EMPATHY Awful customer service at Daphne store. Unfriendly and dismissive manager. Very low on the empathy scale as you'll read. Fridge delivered with a unsightly dent on the front. Manager seemed befuddled by my request to allow the dented one to remain temporarily while they ordered a new one. He said he would have to come get the dented one before he could even order a new one. He offered me 20 percent off to keep the dented one. I didn't think that was enough. So that's where we are. When they come to pick up the dented fridge we will be without one for however long it takes to get a new one. read more

I have came to this Lowe's on so many occasions to get all my landscaping needs. The workers here are always so kind and helpful. I have gave them all of my business I do not go anywhere to get anything I need for business But, today when we came there to pick up mulch we were checking out and was asking for someone to get a pallet of mulch placed on the trailer. Meaning that someone needed to get the forklift and when she called someone over to help. The man asked who was parked on the side of the building, and we told him it was us. He got all pissy and said that we couldn't park there, but he said it like move now and walked away with an attitude.He was not respectful at all. It seems that at any of the Lowe's locations getting someone to help you out on the floor is quite difficult. In the flooring department if there is someone sitting behind a computer they are usually busy with other customers or on the phone. Waiting for your turn to get help usually takes awhile. There is no one on the floor to answer questions. Walking through the aisles and trying to find what you need you're pretty much on your own. It seems there aren't enough people to help you out. I sometimes walk up and down aisles trying to find help. In the paint department it's easier to find someone behind the counter. And, in appliances there is often someone there that can help you if they aren't already helping someone else. Used the services provided for flooring and it did not work out well. The people they sent to out in carpet did the worst job with seams down the middle of the room, edges cut ragged and too short. Stupidly, used another Lowe's location to put in vinyl plank flooring and they did not deliver the flooring in time for the people they sent to install it. I had flooring installation people at my house on two rescheduled dates and no flooring that I paid for showed up. I made several phone calls begging for help because all of my furniture was moved and it was the week of Christmas. The flooring was supposed to be installed the first week of December and it wasn't installed until after Christmas. I ended up putting an artificial table top tree on the counter in the kitchen. 3 stars for convenience of the online ordering and pick-up which I learned I could do without the frustration of going in and trying to find help. 1 star for customer service in the store. read more

If you're considering working or shopping at the Daphne Lowe's, I have one piece of advice for you: don't. This is genuinely one of the worst stores in South Alabama. I feel so bad for the poor folks who work there. I have literally heard employees being yelled at. I have heard upper management threaten to fight people. I have seen one cart guy disappear into lumber and never return to help the other cart person, who seems to never stop working. I've seen people nearly run over the cart people, carts and all. I have heard from multiple employees that they were hired on full-time only to be told they have to give open availability or switch to part-time. This is a genuinely abusive workplace. I wish I could give a negative star review. Do not buy an appliance and expect them to honor their word that they will install it. I purchased a counter depth refrigerator for our RV and was told by the selling employee that she spoke with someone in delivery and that in most cases they would be able to install it. I made sure the dimensions were exact and of course the delivery driver is a 3rd party service and will not put it in the RV. The manager there is no help and called it a "training opportunity " for the selling employee. Guess my frequent Lowe's trips will now be to the orange box store and I will make sure to let my entire family and group of Facebook friends know how Lowe's honors their word. They don't. A couple nights ago, my sister told me that Lowe's had their tile backsplash on sale and I was so excited I couldn't sleep. So, I headed to Lowe's at 6 am to pick out the perfect backsplash. I had hoped to be halfway finished by the time my husband woke up, but I ended up making trips to 5 different Lowe's that day. I got there a few minutes after 6 and the cashier told me I was the only customer when I walked in. For a bit, I thought she might be the only employee in the store as well. Then I found a nice gentleman working in the back of the store. I had found the backsplash that was on sale, but they only had one sheet of what I wanted. Not to mention, the granite samples were so tiny it was hard to tell if it was going to match my counters. The gentleman said he thought it would look great, and looked it up and told me they had 37 sheets at the Foley store. Off to the paint department because it was past time to put a fresh coat of paint on my cabinets. I spent a few minutes picking out the perfect color, grabbed brushes and a gallon of base print. Again, I couldn't find an employee in the area to mix paint. By this time, there was another customer in the store and an employee walked by. When she finished with the customer, I asked her if someone could mix the paint for me. She called the same gentleman who had helped me earlier to that department to mix my paint, and he did so cheerfully. Needless to say, Lowe's is obviously stretching their employees thin. I looked around for a bit and admired the lighting fixtures and curtain samples, then paid for my paint and headed to the Foley store. I wish I could've taken the helpful employee from the Daphne store with me. read more

This is a very good store. The staff are friendly, it's clean and well organized and it carries just about everything. To give you an example of some really good deals: I have huge flower beds front, back and sides. I mulch with pine straw on the back and sides because it's cheaper and so many leaves fall in the autumn that it needs replacing every spring. My wife prefers dark brown hardwood mulch for the front because it looks better to her. I always oblige, so in the height of spring planting season, my Lowes in Daphne was selling 5 big bags of hardwood brown mulch for $10! That's $2 per 40 lb or 2 cubic feet. I loaded up my truck until it was sagging on its axles. This is just one example of special sales. Love this place! read more

I went to Lowes and bought siding for my home. the sub contractor they used installed the siding without following the installation instructions. the salesman at Lowes ordered the wrong J channel which was used. I was charged for labor for plywood which should have been used and wasn't. the siding is buckling. I have talked to the manager at Lowes and filed a complaint with Lowes production services. terrible terrible service. I have not sighed a completion form. I love home improvement; therefore, Lowe's is one of my favorite stores. The staff is more knowledgeable and better trained here than other chain hardware stores. The shelves are well stocked and very rarely can I not find what I need at Lowe's. Only for specialty screws and light bulbs do I ever really need to go elsewhere. The garden center has loads of sod, top soil, herbicides, bricks, and borders. If you need assistance, they will happily load your car. They have different tools and cleaners that you can rent. read more

The app for this location will say its located in an area but even the employees cant find it. App says in stock, bin ticket on shelf in both instances but incorrect item in the spot. Lots of unbusy employees that get snippy w me and tell you lies after myself and counter person has looked it up, calls the dept and sends me to an area where I had trouble finding aisle and bay number because its unorganized. Strongly recommend you don't use Lowe's for some home improvement projects. They go through low-bid subcontractors like someone with a prune fetish goes through toilet paper. We had four different carpet subs out (three were sent to fix the installation problems of the ones before) and still ended up with visible seams between rooms/hall and carpet that wasn't properly stretched and secured. After 18 months, we gave up. Same with door installation. It took several polite complaints and photos to Corporate before an awesome older gentleman came out and fixed everything. But now he's retired. AND the same with custom blinds installation. The installer, while possibly a very nice person when not at work, insisted on setting the hardware too far into the frame so window locks catch on the blinds. And the strings were soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long. Sigh.... But the women at the Daphne Lowe's who work as liaisons between customers and subcontractors do a superhuman job making order from chaos and trying desperately to make things right for customers. It's just not enough though when you've got thousands of dollars of Oops in your home. read more

Busy Saturday, I need a water filter for my refrigerator and a new dishwasher. Yes, I live an exciting life. Usually, I love Lowes. However, the store has literally gone to the dogs. Dogs everywhere! Big dogs, little dogs' medium size dogs, I thought maybe it was a special day, like take your dog to the store day? No, Lowes is now animal friendly. I like dogs, but I really don't enjoy having a 150lb Rottweiler mix and his 10 lb terrier friend wanting to be friend, in my face while I'm trying to find a dishwasher that I need to get in a hurry. I understand pet friendly dining, pet friendly, festivals, but I truly am at loss for why a place full of chemicals with items stacked high and forklifts running around would decide to be pet friendly. I went to lowes today. Sometimes it does not pay. So I am a disabled Veteran who uses a service dog. when checking out to the cashier was wanting to pet my working service dog even though it says do not pet. Another cashier was about 6 feet away squatting down talking to my service dog. all of a sudden my dog is walking over to her. I caught his leash and pulled him back. The first cashier started yelling at me that I should not treat the dog that way. Well if you two would have any training by your company you would no not to interact with a working service dog. I called and talked to the Assistant Manger about it and he reply to me was well I have worked her for 16 years and no one has ever complained before about us talking and petting service dogs, some people with service dogs allow that. Really lady. Perhaps you need training as well. Do you try and pet people wheel chairs, walkers and canes, so why my dog. They need to educate there staff. read more

By far my favorite Lowes to go to. A well-engineered parking space surrounds a clean store staffed by friendly and helpful people. If someone were to make me King for a day, the only thing I would improve is your procedures regarding the hours leading up to the close of the day. You lock the inner doors and funnel people through a customer service back entrance. Knock it off, that's awkward and makes customers uncomfortable. You are open, when you are open you are closed when you are closed. None of this half-way business, k? Aside from that, I've always found this to be my favorite Lowes location. Updated Review: Two weeks ago: I went to purchase a new washer and dryer on a Tuesday. The appliance guy was nice but not knowledgeable. He had two sets on stock (one company on white and one company in red). He said both were in stock and could be delivered by Thursday (two days away). This was great since my dryer was out. I was told to go to a register for a cashier to look it up and I could pay. I stood at the only open register for several minutes while the cashier continued her personal conversation. Finally the self check out lady came to help me. Thursday no one showed up. I called the store and was told by the delivery department that they had me scheduled for the following week. She also stated the washer was not in stock and possibly would not be in stock to be delivered. I was then transferred to the appliance department where I was told that I could come pick up my dryer but my best option would really. E to come pick out a different set. Tonight I went to purchase the paint that offered the rebate. At check out, I was informed that I didn't buy/choose the exact paint option that offered the rebate so I didn't qualify. read more

HORRIBLE customer service. I purchased a dishwasher online. I tried to schedule installation when purchasing but was not allowed to. I called the store in Daphne, AL where the dishwasher was being delivered on 5 different occasions trying to schedule installation. First, the person who answered the phone told me I would need to talk with "Install Sales." She transferred me to them. No answer. I called back about 30 minutes later at 3:00 in the afternoon and was then told that the department had "gone for the day." This was repeated several times on successive days with the lady who answered the phone saying she would take a message and have them call me. No one ever called. Finally on the fifth call, I was told I needed to talk with "Appliances." The lady in "Appliances" said she could not schedule installation over the phone. She said I would have to come in the store in person. That was the last straw. I demanded a refund to my credit card for the purchase of the dishwasher. Lowe's is worse than dealing with AT&T! I'm sure you can probably get cheaper prices if you shop around, but there is something to be said about having a place where you can grab everything in one shot. The employees are extremely friendly and unlike some other hardware places, you can find someone to assist you when you can't find what you are looking for. The store is extremely clean and has had everything that I've required thus far. I've been pleased with their delivery services when purchasing appliances and I think they run sales on a fairly regular basis so prices are competitive.
