I recently bought an old condo at Solomons and have been replacing the carpet and tile floors. Needed lights, fan with lights and a one piece Kitchen sink. Jim at the Pro desk helped me and he is truly fantastic. Very knowledgeable and explained everything. I couldn't find a Kitchen sink that I liked, didn't want stainless steel. Talked to my sister and she found a beautiful one on Lowes's website. So I made 2 trips, 2 days in a row. Jim ordered me the sink I wanted and UPS will deliver it to my condo and I can track the delivery. Everthing was reasonable and quality. He has such a wonderful demeaner. I also met Jazzalyn (Jazz) a wonderful young lady at returns. So polite and helpful. I asked her who could I talk to about what I need to replace the stuff in my condo. Very polite and helpful. Went out to the nursery and talked with Diana. Because of all the trees, my deck doesn't get much light and I wanted flowering plants that didn't need a lot of sun. She was so helpful! Very sad. I heard from a manager that this location is The Most Profitable Lowe's Store! Yet it is clear they don't treat us that way. We only buy from here because it is the only place to go. The selection is mid, the prices are too high, and the service typically sucks. The employees are often nice but the management is terrible. They are taking advantage of the lack of competition in the county. I can't wait for Home Depot to come in. Let's see what happens then. read more

Two very different experiences buying flowers. On Tuesday evening, after 3 carts full, the cashier, pleasant redhead young lady rang everything up and helped me load my car. On Friday morning, when trying to correct a price not updated in the system but well signed, in the front of the store, I was challenged that I had the wrong flower size, wrong understanding. And after engaging 5-6 different associates, lead cashier- thank you Lance and the manager all was well and after full explanation and photos I was requested to take and show the staff, they understood their own advertising for future transactions. But such a different experience a few days made, from super positive to unnecessarily harassed. read more

The employees have a healthy mix of useless and helpful. Helpful is Karl and the employees in the garden area. There's a few that I believe would be perfect if they knew how to communicate better. Standing at the counter not responding just staring at me (doing the task I asked about. Sooo I know you heard me!) however I shouldn't have to do a follow up of asking if you heard in the first place. Awkward just needs some work. As for installation! We have a dishwasher that been pushed twice now! And floors for the whole house! That they say material is ready when it isn't everything the install needs! We're missing bits and pieces. I think the store seems great if you're going to do it yourself, but I'd double check they have items in store currently. Otherwise I suspect it would be the same result as hiring with waiting a good bit of time.... Unsure if it's the ordering people or where the problem lies... Not horrible, it's clean, healthy mix of people and knowledge. Just those few minor issues... I would how ever like to give a major shout out to a gentleman who's name I never got! He was an older gentleman with white hair. My daughter was fussy, screaming he was walking to go do something stopped and made my daughter smile, and gave her a lollipop. Floor supervisor Harry is a asshat. Picking through the worlds worst wood selection, Harry with his little man complex and big attitude makes a few remarks and forces a very nice employee to help me (after i already told them i didnt want help) just to force me along out of the aisle because they were moving something with the forklift on the next aisle over. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING HERE!!!! If you need something delivered or have a big project with multiple items forget about it!!! Your delivery will be screwed up with missing items and incorrect items, they do not even know the delivery driver and can not be contacted. Will be impossible to call and get the order fixed. Constant hang ups and transfers. The manager Janae is total Ghetto even hung up on me when asked her to stop transferring me around for the hundreth time. She will take 10 minutes trying to transfer you rather than help in 5 minutes. Then if you are lucky enough to get them to pick the wrong items up it will be several days later, and then several days after that to re deliver the correct item. I don't recommend Lowe's. At least not for any major purchases. They are another company where the corporate office doesn't really care about their customers. And you can't blame the employees at the store who work for minimum wages. In store sales associates extremely helpful. Selection is pretty decent. The prices are pretty competitive. They actually have a lot of what I like and would purchase. I often shop for products from the store and because I simply pick up the available items I have never had to deal with their delivery service. That said I made a purchase of a refrigerator yesterday afternoon during the Labor Day weekend and it was ordered in store with extended warranty and scheduled for delivery in two weeks. I went home thinking all's well. I received the email notification of my purchase and delivery date. This morning the sales associate who assisted me calls and tries to explain that something is wrong and that although they have 33 units in stock they cannot deliver the unit I purchased and they will refund my money. Not sure what happened nor do I care as long as I am not charged. However the associate could not figure out what happened and supposedly the store manager couldn't help. I received no email from Lowe's I had to return to the store to get the refund receipt. It's almost 2024 and online purchases and deliveries are not rocket science. Sears roebuck one of the original catalog shopping and delivery stores did it with no internet. So what gives? read more

Do not shop here. Customer service is horrible. I came in September 1, 2021 and bought a ceiling fan and paid for it to be installed. By the time all the paperwork was filled out, paid for, and retunes to the parking lot, I got a text for the installation scheduled for September 7th between 10am and 11:30. On the 6th got another text for a reminder for the date and time. On the 7th I received a text stating that it was rescheduled for the 10th. On the night of the 9th, yet another text rescheduling it for the 12th. Tried to call to let them this would not work for me. I kept getting a runaround from them and found out they were in the Philippine Islands. Gave me a number for stateside help, just to get a different install company and the call center was in the same place. Call the local store to talk with the store manager. After a wait time of almost 10 min finally customer service answers. Let them know I wanted to talk with manager. They transferred me and the phone rang for another 3 1/2 min. Before getting hung up on. Called the store back, asked for the manager once again, after being on hold for another 4 1/2 min. They transferred me, rang 5 times and hung up on. Called once more, told customer service I keep getting hung up on, was told sorry about that, that sucks, and they hung up on me. It is more then obviously this Lowe's store dose not care about, and have complete distain, and disrespect for the very customers they depend on. Going to face to face with the store manager. Nobody was visibly Available at the time so I asked a store representative for help, they paged someone to the tool section. The page went out 3 times....... Nobody came. I then found another store representative and said this was my second attempt she told me she'd send someone over I heard the message go over the loud speaker again 3 times...... nobody came. So my last attempt 3rd attempt was to use the assistance button near the tools that I wanted to purchase. Did that and again the message went out 3 times, and not one person came. At this point I was frustrated and left, I got in my vehicle and left. I got home and ordered all the tools on amazon. This is why big department stores are closing daily due to poor customer service and experiences like this. you try and shop local and this happens. We are new to the area and needed new appliances. We came to Lowe's just to look around and see what was available. Joseph in the Appliances Department greeted us warmly and was very friendly and kind to our disabled son. He showed us several different models and spoke knowledgeably about the pros and cons of each. Since we are new and haven't yet even closed on our new house, we had to arrange for delayed delivery and he was very accommodating of that as well as our other needs and concerns. I purchased a washer anbd dryer from the Lowes in Califonria Md. The installation was done rather quickly with a lone exception. The contarct called for installation and taking out the old units. The guys were fast in there installation however they hooked up the cold to the hot water hose and vice versa. I received the bill in early May and sent a check for ther entire amount on May 10th. To date no one in LOWES knows where the check is. I went to the counter in Lowes in California Md to wait for over half an hour to be helped. While I was there, to pay the bill no one there could find the account . I initially gave the rep my statement with the account number clearly on it. They still had to call headquesters or a corporate office to figure out what to do. read more

Tl;dr; for anyone too lazy to read this whole review. Please, for the love of god, avoid this Lowes. We bought a brand new lawn mower from Lowes. Upon receipt, the box was bashed up and damaged. No biggie. We'll deal with it. Opening up the box, two screws were missing, the oil and instructions were missing. The mower was obviously used. There was already some oil in the oil pan. We reached out to Lowes. No one at the location gave a crap. They told us it wasn't their problem, and to reach out to Craftman for the missing screws. We bought it from YOU, it was clearly returned and then foisted on us. But, sure, let's follow up with Craftsman. Look...we just moved to the area. We just bought a HOUSE. I'm a dude. I'm stoked to start on home improvement projects. I was stoked that there was a Lowes near us for us to buy all the various home improvement stuff from. You know where I'm going to go for all those home improvement needs? Not Lowes. Maybe Home Depot. But absolutely not this Lowes. I'm legitimately blown away by how bad their products are, and how bad their service is. If some lacky from Lowes Corp wants to reach out to me to fix the issue, I'd be more than happy to update this review. But for the time being, I can't imagine ever going to Lowes again. Today I went in not knowing what I wanted. I needed blinds for a project I'm doing in my house, but had no idea where to start. I have previously had THE WORST experiences in this store. The employees have all had horrible attitudes. Today though, I met Ashley in home decor. She helped me figure out how to measure (which I went home and did) and then returned to the store and she helped me pick out and cut blinds! She was very nice and courteous, and super helpful. Don't purchase an appliance from the Mechanicsville Lowes! We purchased a refrigerator and had to have three delivered before it was right. Our walls are messed up, we lost food, we were promised restitution which we never received. Instead of owning the problems, the manager told us to talk with the contractor they hired to deliver the refrigerators. We were promised gift cards for the food and interior damage. We have not received them. The Store Manager will not return our calls and the contractor refused to send the promised gift cards! I believe this is a problem that Lowes should manage! We've made several large purchases at this Lowe's and out of the three deliveries only one was ever worth our time. They rarely haul away, even though you pay for it, they will avoid doing any sort of install besides the very most basic plug in. Literally if it's not just a power cord plugged into the wall they won't do it. This time we had an oven delivered, they refused to even attempt to install it (our oven is directly wired, not a simple plug, so they refused to touch it). They left our new oven in the middle of the dining area and didn't haul anything away as we had paid for. When we rescheduled the haul away the men who showed up complained the entire time about our old oven being to heavy. One of the movers took pictures of our old oven and the surrounding kitchen area as though he were trying to text his boss to get out of the job. They finally removed the oven after much complaint, not that complaints are anything new... I've never had a delivery that wasn't filled with loud complaints then entire time. Overall this is the most unprofessional location and you're better off going further away to Home Depot. read more

Avoid this store for all but the most basic purchases. If you can get those elsewhere do so. Let's make this once good store earn our business. This store is clearly in need of new management. Unfortunately there are not many other options in the area for much of what they are supposed to provide. If you are just going in to buy something off the shelf, fine, once you find a place to park in the overstocked parking lot and navigate the mismarked aisles to find your item. Any attempt to order something for a home improvement project is a disaster. The employees do not know the processes, the management does not care. If you have to call the store for help with a wrong item or late delivery the phone just rings forever. No one EVER answers. If you go to the store for help there is seldom an employee available ("I don't work in that department" is the common response). I ordered countertops and the installer made quick contact, came and measured, and set up the install date. He told me that Lowe's should have set me up with a plumber to disconnect/reconnect the sink before/after the job. That was news to this local Lowe's. I guess they have never done a countertop job before? It took a month and calling the Lowe's Corporate Installations customer support team several times to get that set up - then they charged me over $700 for what will be less than an hour of labor altogether. When you get accidentally transferred to corporate multiple times or have to call them just to get a simple answer...at least they are nice to talk to. Some of the people that transfer me around don't even have any simple manners and seems like they just disconnect you after you wait on hold for so long. There are a couple good ones there like the gentleman I spoke to today who took my information to give to the appropriate person instead of placing me on hold another time. Otherwise, hope you have weeks to wait for a response or it's a frustrating process. 2 stars for the nice peeps. Update: still having problems. Was told by guy preparing my order in the store that my carpet order was supposed to be delivered to the store two days ago and to be installed today. Call today to get some information because I haven't heard anything since and find out that the carpet won't even be delivered until Monday and then they will call me (hopefully) to set up install time. We ordered an expensive Weber grill from Lowe's on 06/12/19 with a pickup date for 06/14/19 with a $0.00 assembly charge. I called on the agreed date to make sure it was ready, it was not. The next morning I called to check on the status and it was still not ready. We came in several hours later and were told it was being worked on and that we would have to wait another hour for the job to be completed. Not only was my call rerouted, dropped or transferred to the wrong extension four times but the general manager David was beyond rude in the store. "What do you want?" (Smug smile). David was unapologetic and exuded a total blasé fair demeanor over my concern. Took my receipt and disappeared mid conversation with no solution. Come to find out they SOLD our assembled grill and made us wait while they put another one together. I am not one to ever write negative reviews so here is my first. This is my first time going to this Lowes here and I would like to share my experience on this particular location. I have recently relocated to the area from South Carolina(active military). I was the third in line today November 13, 2021 the at about 1:10 pm or so at the paint counter. There was an older white male behind the counter, I'd say he's about 60-70s maybe 5'10-6'1 I didn't catch his name. Again, I always leave positive feedback and never speak on negative encounters but for this one I will. When it was my turn to come up, I kindly let him know I was looking to get paint and handed him the paint chip/swatch that I had chose. He proceeded to ask how much and I requested one gallon and after he just stared at me and said uh huh and what finish. I was unsure and made him aware. Typically they would help, right? He continued to just stare at me in aggravation, I proceeded with asking nicely if he had the sampler showing the different finishes so I could make a decision. He rolled his eyes and brought out the paper sampler and threw it on the counter. I really needed paint as we purchased a home and we are making all sorts of changes to make it ours so we are in and out of home improvement stores to say the least. I tried to look past everything that occurred trying to be optimistic.. maybe he was having a bad day right? I looked right into his eyes as he was wearing a shield and everything he did and how he spoke he meant. I let him know I was going to go elsewhere for the paint. Which I did I came to the Lowes there instead. The experience was night and day at the location compared to the one in California. I bought a patio set in store and arranged to have it delivered, it didnt show. It had arrived to the store with half the chairs (3) broken. They pieced together a full set and sold it to SOMEONE ELSE and after WE CALLED, they told me delivery would be delayed 3 days. Ok. It didnt show again. We go to the store, they never entered the second delivery info into the computer. We offered to buy the display table (which they were going to sell me anyways and not say anything about it being a display), and offered to drive to 2 separate stores to get the missing 3 chairs. After 20 minutes they suddenly realize they cant split up the sets of chairs, even tho they ALREADY DID THAT. Now they are completely out of stock, estimated delivery would be 6+ weeks out. I got a refund and will be shopping else where. Lowes is a dump. read more

Customer service is hit or miss. My issue is with appliance delivery. My landlord bought me a refrigerator on Thursday. She said Lowes told her they would call me to coordinate delivery for Friday and give me a two hour window. 9PM on Thursday rolled around with no call. I called the store and was told delivery was now on Saturday. About 1 hour later, I received an automated called saying delivery was on Friday. After waiting at home for the 2 hour block on Friday with no delivery, I called the store again was told they would deliver on Saturday. The new refrigerator did not work. Now the customer service to return it was awesome. I was easily able to go to the store and do an exchange. However, they told me I would receive a call the same day to confirm next day delivery. The call never came. For the second time this week I am left with no idea when to expect the delivery. read more

Quite possibly the worst customer service I've ever experienced - getting in contact with Service Pros or Lowe's and/or having anyone follow up with you is an endless challenge. I ordered carpet through Lowe's and Service Pros is the company they utilize to handle installation. The initial scheduling went well and the team showed up to install the carpet on Jan 20, 2021. Installation of the carpet in all rooms went great, but ServicePros did not have the carpet runner to replace my current carpet runner due to an error on Lowe's part. Well let the nightmare begin...It is now Feb 8, 2021 and I've called ServicePros and Lowe's NUMEROUS times to get this straight...I've never been able to get anyone from Service Pros to call me back and I've had to essentially pester Lowe's to get ANY sort of response. I'm still waiting to have my carpet runner installed...here's to another day of a promised callback from Service Pros with ZERO response. This place is the worst, I live in the country, have no choice for appliances since Sears went out of business, so had a good experience with them when our dryer died, then our fridge goes, and since that day it was nothing short of a nightmare, we order a fridge online set for delivery in 4 days, they call the day before and say oops sorry the fridge is not in the store, wtf, how do you sell something and schedule it to be delivered when it doesn't exist, they then just cancel the order and don't even try to sell me a fridge they do have, really? But our fridge is broke, so I ordered another one that will be delivered the next day, then the online tracking says it will be here between 9 and 2pm, well 2pm comes and goes, and you can't get the store on the phone so I chat with Lowes online and guess what? They never put the fridge on the truck! Again, the store will not pick up a phone to save their lives, so the next day comes, and online says they won't deliver the fridge till next freaking Monday! Our food is spoiling at this point, even with the ice packs we put in there, so since the store won't pick up the phone, called the Lowes line again and the soonest they could deliver was Friday, wtf, 4 days away! Well the 100 bucks worth of food is going in the trash now, but at least we can restock on the weekend, again I find it hard to believe a multi billion dollar company with 1000s of employees can't figure out how to deliver a freaking fridge right away?!? Nonetheless, I beg Lowes to please come after 3pm since I can't get off work and already took a day waiting for them on Monday, they said they put a note in, I looked online for a 2nd phone number for the store and with 2 phones at the same time called both numbers. The 2nd one picked up after ringing for over 9 minutes, again I begged them to please come after 3pm, they said they noted it, when done with that call, I looked at the other phone and it was still ringing after over 18 minutes! Sure you know where this is going, well got a call a little after 11 am, and guess what? They're 10 minutes away! I again beg the driver that we said we needed after 3pm, he said they only have a couple of deliveries today and will be done by 2pm! So I call the wife who works at a school and they let her come home thankfully, and we finally have a fridge that works. The delivery guys were good people though, so no issue there, my issue is with this garbage store and Lowes in general, if these guys were getting done this early with deliveries I am sorry they could have gone back to the store to get my fridge on Monday, but no, 100 bucks worth of food spoiled in the trash, including some Omaha steak packages, and no one at Lowes cared at all, it's not their food after all, not to mention Lowes customer care said I was supposed to get a Call within 24 hours, well, it's been over 100 hours now and no call...guess Home Depot from now on for us, I wouldn't go to this store for a light bulb! read more
