LOVE LOWES! My husband has been shopping here for years, he probably should own stock in the company by now. I always assumed it was all hardware, paint, grass seed, and lumbar. Boy was I wrong! That store is awesome, sure it has all the "man" stuff and don't get me wrong it definitely has the "man feel" but there is so much there! I shop there a lot...they have appliances, outdoor furniture (and a great selection of plants, trees, and shubbery for landscaping...even beautiful rose bushes and hanging baskets at great prices!) Lowe's carries Valspar paint, which in my opinion is the best paint. The coverage is amazing and our entire house is painted in Valspar and we've never been disappointed (big plus). Lowe's also has it's own brand of tools, Kobalt, which are actually really nice. I have bought all kinds of things here, even pillows, rugs, curtains (and I am very picky in my interior decorating). People come over and ask where I got my things and they are shocked at how much of it actually came from Lowe's! read more

She mentioned vending and he made a big deal about having to come out and speak to me. He mentioned he would meet me up at customer service. I left after eating 10 minutes for him. Worst customer service ever. Customer service is supposed to call specialists to help with special orders and they do not respond. Managers do not respond. Even the Sales people do not respond to your request for assistance. I waited patiently for 30 minutes waiting for someone to respond for assistance. When you buy a major appliance from Lowes and they ask you if you want the extended warranty, NEVER EVER purchase it! What they don't tell you is the extended warranty has nothing to do with lowes, it's through assurance. I found out the hard way. We bought a washer and dryer from them, bought the warranty and 1 1/2 years later they both went out. Called Lowes and found out right away they wanted nothing to do with me or the warranty!! I've had too many negative experiences with Bradley Lowes, customer service is mediocre at best. My last straw was trying to buy a mattress (in a box) nobody around to help us, to place it on the cart, which took me on a search to find. Then to pay... one cashier..two employees standing around trying to undo a problem for the customer. I decided to pay at the self check, plenty of those. It was working, till I entered the coupon the Lowes sent me. Big mistake! Price went up, no discount taken. Help light went on. Two extra were busy acting like they didn't see us at the self check, lines are getting longer. Another customer needs help. Long story short, after an employee unsuccessfully tried to fix the problem, I took my coupon and left. They lost a $700 sale! We ordered a storm door and decided to bite the bullet and pay $127 for lowes to install it, since my husband didn't have time to do it. This is very out of character for him, as he pretty much fixes and installs anything that we need at our home. Well, it took 4 weeks for lowes to do this job. Two for the door to come in, and 2 for the thing to be installed. The installer was nice, but apparently the store didn't order the right hardware for the handle so he installed it without the handle - we had to use a screw driver during the thanksgiving holiday to open and close the door since it didn't have a handle. And there was very little communication as to when they were coming back to finish the job. Hard to believe that it would take so long to get a storm door installed. We won't be having lowes install anything in the future. read more

Every time I go into this Lowes I have to search for someone to help me. The staff seems to migrate and chit chat but when you get nearby they disperse and disappear. I ordered blinds to be delivered to my house, they told me it would be 2 weeks. After 3 weeks I called the Lowes customer service and they could not find my order. I called the store and after speaking to several different people was told I had to come into the store which I did. Again, several staff were involved as nobody seemed to know how to access the order. Finally a woman said it's right here, it should be delivered on Monday. After not receiving the blinds the following Wednesday I called the store. I was placed on hold several times for over 25 minutes. The girl said she was on hold with the company and would call me back. She did and said the company never received the order. My credit card was charged when I ordered it. If the order was never received why was I told when it was to be delivered? Did the staff just tell me anything to get rid of me?I spent more than 2 hours on the phone and in the store trying to track down the order! I was told to come into the store as the manager said he would issue a refund. It will be a long time before I return to this Lowes. The staff really needs more training! read more

I ordered some doors, etc for some home improvement projects. Paid for home delivery. The first truck came, said he didn't want to come down the drive because of the snow. After speaking to my son, they did. No problem, getting back out, problem. They took out an AT&T line, ran over several boxes of junk I had on the side of my drive for trash day, scattering it all over and just left. My neighbor called the delivery guy about the downed line and the driver said it was my fault for wanting the delivery to come to the house. I have a long driveway, i paid for home delivery. Second truck comes later in the afternoon, says can't get to the house because of the downed line. Says will note they couldn't make the delivery and I need to reschedule. I check my order status today and it says it was delivered. WTH! I understand they outsource for delivery but maybe they need to get some reliable people? read more

We purchased LG Hi-Mac countertops from Lowes in Bradley. Countertops were manufactured and installed in wrong color. We purchased Hawksbill which is a brown color and counters installed are gray and the wrong sink was installed. Lowes and their contractors have refused to do anything about this situation. Last response was a denial of claim because " there is an allowable dye lot difference between sheets of material. Please also note that all sample pieces state on the back "color may vary slightly from this sample" Brown to Gray is not a dye lot difference. It's human error, unfortunately Lowes will not stand behind their products leaving little choice for the consumer. read more

I like the fact that the staff here is friendly, both at checkout and those working the various departments. I can go to the paint department, get some intelligent input about paint selection, they mix it correctly (unlike Menards down the street) and show you a dried sample of it before you leave the paint desk. It is sometimes hard to find someone on the floor to help in certain departments, but anytime I've gone to the checkout or another area asking for them to page someone, they show up quickly. Menards has more people on the floor at their store, but the quality of their help is typically mediocre, based on my experience. Last year I bought over 500 ft. of special order Pergo flooring from Lowe's. I hired my own installers to put it in and they found it to be defective. I called Pergo and then called Lowe's. Even though ti was special order, all they said was "just bring it back, we'll be waiting for you and will have someone to bring it in." Couldn't have been more pleased. Lowe's prices in general are a bit higher than Menard's, I've learned to consider these things: 1) Lowes has a customer service phone # you can call about orders and other things while Menards only provides an email address and if you want to return something special ordered, be prepared to be hit with restocking fees. 2) Lowes staff in general is more knowledgeable and friendly than Menards. I'd rather pay a bit more for items and get better service, so you can find me at Lowes a few times a week. read more

A family friend and I went to this Lowe's to buy a 16 footer 2x4 and needed them in 5 ft increments. We needed it to reinforce a bed. We had to flag down two employees to have someone come to the lumber dept to cut it for us. We and another person waited for about 20 minutes. After an employee came, we explained what we needed, after much fumbling around (the employee) grumpily said that "our machines do not do precision cuts" AND " we only cut wood in half". Then proceeded to show us smaller 2x4s. None of this made sense because we need them 5 ft at least. We would have been happy with 4 ft, 11inches. The other person waiting got his wood cut to his specifications and it was NOT in half. WTH? Someone bragged about the service at this Lowe's, but I give this service F-. I will not ever set foot at this Lowe's ever again. read more

Called me At 9pm to tell me they don't have it in stock, I state that's why I ordered online to be delivered to the store, she states ok we will place your order. Called at 7:30am to state they do not have this in stock at store. Explained again and they called last night about it. INSTALLER = 0 STARS For the (Bradley, Illinois) store itself that should be a five star rating. The help was good, friendly, polite, and knowledge about the appliances. The installer though is why it is a one, wishing it could be zero, star rating. I bough a microwave at Lowe's last Saturday, with install. Was told that would call to schedule within two business days. About the only thing with the installer that was good as they did call on Tuesday, at 4:05pm. They wanted a four hour install window for the next Friday. SIX days after purchase. My schedule does not have FOUR HOURS open on a Friday. Who does? The Saturday window was only two hours, so I scheduled for then, 9 AM to 11 AM. Was told by the scheduler that the installer would call the day before to confirm. So far, sounds good. The good stuff ends! Friday comes and goes without a phone call from them. Saturday morning still no call. WTF is going on? Do i still have an install today? 9AM nothing. 10AM nothing. A smidge before 11, I call Lowe's. Now I wish there was ratings for the people on the phone because they were great. I explained the schedule, they verified. They called the installer, or attempted to anyway. They said no answer, it went straight to voicemail. And the alarm bells go of in my head about installer horrert stories, realising I am now in one. They sent the installer a text. An email. No response. So I am doing the survey after the call ended, this is about 11:15, and who shows up? At least Platinum Installers finally showed up. The guy comes in, does a quick mis-measurement and days he can not install because there is not enough space. Odd, there is an existing microwave there, same size. He said the minimum was 30" above the stove. False! The minimum is 66" above the floor. Holding the tape up, better than 24" (2 feet) from the wall, without the end on the floor, no level from the cabinet, says " nope, too short". Crock of bull excriment! Learn how to read a tape and measure correctly Brian! Just because you are running late is not a reason to skip a job. I measured the wall, 66". Oh yea, took the microwave and still no refund on my card. Save yourself some trouble and shop elsewhere, or do the install yourself. read more

We had a few issues with our appliance order but the manager of this store stayed on top of things, kept us updated, and took good care of us for our inconvenience. Turns out the delays were caused by the manufacturer and the popularity of the items we ordered. The manager made what could have been a bad experience a pretty good one. If there's another Lowe's around I would say go there. I've been here 2 times needing to see the manager and the first it took 35 minutes until customer service actually went to get them. Second time I waited on the manager for over an hour to come to the back and the lady was called over the loud speaker. Management sucks at this location. I worked as an assembler by the way. I can't stand the way the assembly area is trashed and expect me to work back there and then complain that I barely do anything when I do a lot just not what you need to be done. Like come on!! I was just there yesterday being told they had 20 grills ready to be built and when I got there I asked where they were and no one knew. That's when they called for a manager to come back there and I waited there for over an hour and decided to leave. I'm never working for you guys again. Out of the 3 Lowe's I worked at you're definitely the most unorganized one. How can the managers complain about me not doing anything if y'all don't wanna show face to show me what needs to be done or even have anything ready for me to do? So yeah I built half a grill and left it there for y'all to finish since all you can do is complain about The work I did for you when I was by myself making everything. Got on my last nerve. Went here yesterday to BUY a john deere riding mower. I knew exactly what I wanted so I went and stood at the counter near the mowers. The guy that was working at the counter was talking with some people he must have known. After about ten minutes of me waiting at the counter he was done talking, he looked at me then just walked away. That was almost the deal breaker but it gets worse. After searching for 5 more minutes I found another person to help me. I told him which mower I wanted to buy, and he said "ok we can get that for you". I asked if they had the the bagger attachment in stock for the mower I was buying. He said "probably" and that was it. I asked him if he could check and he walked away. 5 minutes later he comes back and said they didn't have the bagger. I said well do you have this mower in stock that I want to buy besides the model on display? He said "there might be one outside". Once again I had to ask him if he could go check. He comes back 5 minutes later and said they didn't have any, but I could buy the display model. I asked if it was cheaper since it was all scratched up, at the same time one of the managers came up and was standing next to the mower I wanted to buy. When I asked if the floor model was cheaper she said very snotty " No way!". Your loss Lowes . I was ready and willing to buy the mower and bagger at full price for 2500 bucks. They never even asked me if they could order either of them for me, which I would have done and paid for right then. This Lowes will never see another dime of my money. Also beware of buying a grill here. They leave them outside in the rain all year! Who wants to pay 400-500 bucks for a new weber grill that's been sitting out in the weather and rain for months. A lot to be desired for service here. Noone offers help. I needed rope cut. No help around. I pushed the call button. When the associate arrived he seemed irritated that I disturbed him. When he asked "what do you need?". I said I need some cable cut. He threw his haands up and said, "which one". This is not the first time Ive received this level of service from this store. This store failed us on multiple attempts to do business with them. My wife and I tried to purchase a lawn tractor through them and after paying for the products twice and twice waiting an entire day for them to deliver that product - that was promised, we finally had to get a Market Manager involved to get the product we paid for delivered. Beware of this store, the lack of ownership in issues is alarming and contagious. Not the service we had come to expect from Lowes. We are now doing business with Home Depot and are more than pleased. read more
