Second, I tried to go thru their Military discount program "verification"... and the way its done is ... need to provide a form called DD214. Now the problem with that is... such firm has... social security number.. address, clearances hello, date of birth , dependents info etc etc. No I do not want to disclose my highly personal info... even if they "claim" it's a third party verification... that's even worse, who knows who this group is.. and I'm sharing my pers info? They will promise delivery dates and times for your appliances after you paid good money for them and will never show up to your house even with garuntees. This location employs the rudest customer service staff and manager!! Don't shop here!! Go to Middletown or Newark instead. I placed an online order for a champagne colored Samsung front loader but the wrong washer was pulled and boxed for us to pick up. Not realizing their error, we arrived home and unloaded a white GE top loader. After reloading this very heavy machine, trailering it 21 miles back and carrying it back into the store, they wouldn't accept the return because it was the wrong unit. The irony wasn't lost, right?! We were tired, left out of options and forced to forfeit $944 until we spent 2 hours on hold with customer service. I called the police to document the transaction & videoed the experience. Awful. If i could give this location zero stars I would. In August we began to install hard wood floors on our stairs and had been sent all the materials from lowe's. While it was being installed we discovered that they had sent a completely different finish of wood for the nose of the stair than the flooring. We were told they would correct their mistake and yet again it was not a match. Now in November they are refusing to match the finishes and will not help when this was a mistake that could have been resolved sooner. read more

We stumbled across this Lowe's while waiting for another retailer to open. At 8:30 AM on a weekday, this location was well stocked and not very busy. Definitely would return if I was in the neighborhood. The only negative point is that the lighting in this location is poor -very low wattage which makes it difficult to read the fine print on some packages. read more

I Shopped for what I needed at Lowes and I had a Lowes gift card $25.00 .I went to a cashier to help me with my purchase and she helped me scrape off the covering over the cards pin # ,but in the process of taking off the covering, some damage may have occurred to the numbers so I was sent to customer assistance that was a waste of time and my cousin had spent $25.00 for the gift card the couldn't get the card to work and I was told they can't help me.My cousins $25.00 was wasted for a gift card that was purchased at Lowes and the items I wanted to purchase was left on the counter. I've ordered a shit load of stuff here and had it delivered for my patio, fire pit and back patio furniture. It was a nightmare trying to get it out to me just a mile away. Some of the people that worked there are just plain nasty; some of the workers truly did care and put in an effort. I had to go to the store because they had passed me around on hold when I was waiting on the phone for my delivery. I brought my phone with me and was still on hold. No one is responsible for anything it seemed. Then, Once in the store, I was there over 2 hours waiting for management to talk to me. The manager, Dave, was a complete jerk to me and he walked to another register so he didn't have to talk to me. I don't get it, I was soooo extremely patient. I probably should have freaked out and probably would've had my stuff sooner. I just don't like being yelled and and worked retail so I tried to be accommodating. I only went here because they had the fire pit ring kit I wanted. The delivery guy came the next day, no thanks to Dave who put it in for three days later. Luckily the girls in customer service did override the delivery date. They had one older guy alone delivering $1300 worth of stones and furniture. Get it together, Lowes! read more

Let me start with the people. They staff is always friendly and helpful and will even call other stores and make other suggestions to help you. The stock however SUCKS! The store might have the main part you need but not the installation accessories. Example I bought the Pro Plumber Frost Proof Yard Hydrant and right on the box it says you need a hydrant elbow or a hydrant tee that is not included. Well they don't have it and you have to go online to get because no store carries it. GREAT! I really don't mean to be irritated but ever since they moved to the new location it seems that they have made it harder to show here. If I wanted to buy stuff online I would've just done it, but the reason people go to big box stores is because of the possible selection and hands on plus that buying a product in person gives you. Plus what happened to them selling irrigation stuff for the garden? No store carries it any longer. read more

Shocked by the level of customer service! Usually a trip to Lowes is pretty routine. You run in grab what you need and go. I went in with a friend on Black Friday for their Christmas tree specials. It's a pretty stressful day for employees, so I wasn't expecting what happened next. After going back and forth with my friend on which tree I wanted, I finally decided on the one. Mike and Rob helped me. These guys went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my selection. They made my experience very personable in sharing my excitement and I left the store with the biggest smile on my face. This all resulted just from "people being nice to people" and I think this store should be recognized for that. read more

Most Lowe's are the same and most experiences are the same, however, this time at this Lowe's was a journey, i met a woman named Kim who worked in the paint department, Kim was not only the friendliest person I have probably ever met, but also the most helpful. Not only did she know her section like the back of her hand proving her to be a valuable employee but she walked us around the store to find what we needed and when we still couldn't find it after numerous attempts she took the time to locate the product at other stores, and even found where we could purchase online if need be. So come check this place out and if you can't find what you need don't bother Kim she's busy being awesome. read more

I just blasted Best Buy about a horrible experience with getting a washer & dryer. Long story short, its been over a month and the washer is still back-ordered and the dryer they delivered is sitting, broken in my basement. Enter Lowes. I went to Lowes on June 22 after I was fed up with Best Buy. Purchased the same washer & dryer I've been trying to get from Best Buy for a month. In the less than 24 hours, they were delivered and in my basement. The broken Best Buy dryer is still sitting there looking stupid. Will go to Lowes from now on without hesitation. They stand behind their stuff and I've yet to have a bad experience with one of their appliances. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Interaction with their flooring team at LOWE'S on Songsmith Dr, BEAR, DE 19701 between July 2018 till November 2018 with negative outcome. Bad customer Service, disorganized and badly staffed (never available when one needs them), one colleague doesn't want to help another colleague's customer due to some unknown fear. No transparency in their estimate calculation and job site measurements. Quoted a whopping high estimate figure which by no means made sense, and to which no satisfactory explanation was provided. Wasted $35 paying them to come out and measure the job site. They never provided a detailed copy of the measured space, and refused to produce even a rough copy of the Sq/ft breakdown by each room despite multiple requests. Also refused to refund my $35 when i demanded it back. Employees will also not let you talk to a manager. read more

This is the newest Lowe's in the area. It seems weird that they have a huge expanse of land to themselves but maybe there'll be more development on that side of Route 7 later. I don't think they have everything together yet. The lighting section was in a bit of disarray with the item I wanted to shop for scattered over three islands. In time, this should improve. On the plus side, checkout service was fast and cordial and unlike Home Depot, they don't make you use self-checkout. read more

When I finally got the guy to come out and measure no one was in the store to let me buy the door and see the quote this was 2 weeks after he measured. I went to Lowes to purchase a gas grill. The customer service was exceptional . Not only did I get the gas grill that I wanted but i got it at a great price. I had the grill delivered to my home on perhaps one of their busiest delivery day -but their commitment to deliver on time as promised was honored. Polite delivery people too. kudos to Lowes home improvement. I love the store and its great customer service and will travel the 10 miles to get to it even though Home Depot is less two mile from me- (had horrible experiences there -all customer service / product inventory related). read more

So let me start by stating that I've had problems with Lowe's "professional installation" in the past. Not out of this store, but I've tried to have flooring done in the past, and after paying my fee to have a measurement performed, I got the runaround for about 2-3 months before ultimately moving on and having installation done elsewhere. So I was hesitant to give them another chance. I went to the Bear location to look at exterior doors, and decided to give them another shot. The service and selection in store was fine. I was told that I would hear from an installer within 48 hours to schedule a measurement at my home, and I paid my $51 fee ($35 for the measurement, $16 for a lead paint test). After 2 business days, I hadn't heard from the installer, but I did get a message from a store rep that the installer would get to me by "mid to late week" - which would've put it more into the 72-96 hour range. Not the hugest deal, but if you promise something in store, and it's literally the first step in the process, you might want to be able to guarantee it. The installer made contact on Wednesday, 3 days after my in-store visit, and we set up a time for today between 9:00-9:30a to have the measurement. I waited at home until 10:00 before leaving and heading into work, and I've received no call from the installer all day. I've tried calling the store in Bear to alert them that my scheduled measurement fell through, and I've been passed around like another reviewer mentioned -- sometimes the operator passes me to the wrong department, and they can't patch me back, so I have to re-dial and start all over; sometimes I go on hold, a few times up to 8 minutes (I've been pretty patient today), only to ring back to the operator. At no point have I reached the doors/windows department. Last time, I calmly explained the situation of the day to the operator, and he at least asked around to some other folks to see if they could help me, he was advised to patch me to the "pro desk", and of course after a brief hold, I ended right up back at the main automated menu. Did I ask for a manager? Yes, several times. I was told "He's not here" - so apparently the maniacs runt he asylum. I was also told, "Well, there's not a store manager, but there are department managers, I can connect you to one of them." - but apparently that's code for "you're going on hold for a few seconds and then we're hanging up on you." So if you've made it this far, please know that this store is awful to work with. I feel bad for the original sales rep in doors/windows, because he was actually knowledgeable and nice to work with. Behind the scenes, though, is a rudderless ship. And the only reason I'm still making the effort is to get my $51 back before moving on. I'll make my way in store and get refunded, but I recommend you save yourself the time in the future and find your own contractor to do the work. read more
