The salesman was very knowledge-able and helped me select an affordable replacement. The washer / dry installation was completed on schedule and with no problems. I had a garage door opener installed through Home Depot and the whole thing just ripped out of the wall. Definitely understand things happen but I can't even get in touch with someone without being continuously re-routed or sent to voicemails that aren't returned. I'd be cautious of using their installation services but would be willing to reconsider my perspective if I could at least talk to someone. The machine itself is nice. This is my to go Home Depot in the area. But I've always postponed my reviews after my various experience. Today I got there to pickup trash bags and I end up getting some particle board . I was politely greeted by Mr James H. And After finishing helping a couple of guest, I told him what I wanted and the purpose. He went above and beyond and help me with cutting the piece I needed.( he explain to me the cutting policy of Home Depot). Even when I was done and asking more for him, he was patient and taking his time. That location is always , well organized and their price are great. I had the absolute worst experience with the Home Depot on Churchmans road. I placed an order online and paid extra to get a specific time frame, the delivery never happened. when calling the store I spoke with the assistant manager who is incompetent I was told there is nothing they can do about the delivery, never offered to be refunded for the money I paid for a specific tome frame of delivery and then to top it off the manager began to yell at me and blame another location, then just hung up the phone. I placed an online order for a hedge trimmer. It was listed as one item in stock. I did get a call from the store informing me that they could not find the item, but more were due in within the next day. I also received both text and email messages to pick up the item. On visiting the store, I was told it was still "on the truck". Emails and texts have continued. So far, I made 3 visits to the store, only to be told the item is supposed to arrive next week. I do not appreciate a run around- I canceled my order. This is the second problem I have had with this store. Also had a 3rd problem when trying to buy a freezer and having it delivered. Personally, I have had better service and accommodation with Lowe's in Bear. They did deliver that freezer at no charge. read more

home depot in newark, DE and Lowes in Newark DE (ogletown)must be running for last place when it comes to service. we wanted to buy a kitchen island but were told they don't do consulting unless it's for the whole kitchen. We then went to CABINET FACTORY off 202 in Wilmington and they designed our cabinet in 15 minutes and 1 week later they installed it..We then tried to buy custom blinds. Waited in the curtain/blind dept for over 20 minutes and no one came to help. we even had 2 men from another department call for help in blinds and still no one came. on our way out we told the cashier that we waited over 20 minutes and instead of trying to help she just apologized. I purchased over three thousand dollars worth of appliances, one month and a week they have not been delivered. First they weren't available at the first appointed date, maybe two days.. (Their words the day before expected delivery). Didn't come, no call. I called 3 days later. (Mon)...now it's Wed., No Wed, now it's Fri. Now it's in fourteen days. We hired Home Depot to replace the vinyl on our kitchen floor. Their sub contractor US Installation Group messed it up and it sounded like you were always walking on a sticky floor. I spent an hour and a half at store 1601 this afternoon, trying to order new garage doors to be installed. There was a total inability to get it into the system, to the point that I just took the keyboard and actually typed in what needed to be done. Then, it turned out that there was a HUGE miscommunication about what needed to be in there, so we had to start over. Finally get it in, invoice printed. Two people told me I could get a military discount (did I mention my husband is deployed to Afghanistan right now??). We went up front, and it couldn't be done. After I waited for ANOTHER 15 minutes, the head cashier (???) passed me off, because she "didn't know how to do this." I was very up front with every single employee that I had to get out in a timely manner, as I needed to pick up my children at daycare. The end result? They wanted me to come back, with my kids!!!! I literally got to the store around 3:40, and walked out at 5:15 WITH NO DOORS ORDERED. Additionally, the doors, even with discount, were going to be way more expensive than Lowe's. This is how you treat your military. Poorly done, HD, poorly done. I now know not to bring my big projects to you. read more

This gentleman not only put together a product so I could see it and make sure it fit my needs, he did it with a very helpful attitude. This Home Depot is in a big strip mall along Route 58 westbound. There was definitely no problem finding a parking space there, even on a holiday weekend. This is a big store, although perhaps average for a Home Depot. The lawn/garden center is huge. Had a bit of trouble finding what I needed because there was so much to look at there but in the end, all was well. read more

The first person I sat with was great! She even had customers waiting to talk to her instead of other employees. Purchased 5 kitchen appliances (2 fridges) for $3,700 and went away happy. Went back the next day (Sunday) and talked to someone new who obviously didn't want to be bothered by me. I asked questions about the size of a refrigerator and was told that the people who input measurements online often get them wrong. This concerned me as it was going to be close fit if accurate. I asked about changing that appliance with another and I was told that it isn't possible since it's already been ordered. Delivery was scheduled for 20 days out. I talked to the help desk who also didn't want bothered and even answered the phone during our conversation. He told me the best idea was to "just refuse delivery when it arrives and come back after the other appliances have been dropped off." Finally spoke to another person who said it's possible to cancel one of the appliances and order a new one. It involved canceling the entire order in their system and starting over, which would have been fine, but at this point I was frustrated and disappointed. I canceled the entire order today and will go check out Lowe's. read more

Have a story to tell. I've been in a dark hole for the past couple years. I decided to end it all. I came to home Depot mid September looking to buy rope. A dark stocky kid with glasses named tom was returning a cart to the entrance of the store from his faucet section and he saw me looking lost. He came came over to me and gave me a big goofy smile and offered to help me. I lied and said I needed rope to hang some plants. He brought me downstairs and before the rope he showed me plants. He made a couple jokes in the process and I laughed. It felt so good. Then he told me that my hair is beautiful and I should smile more. I went natural a couple years ago and he's the only man to this day to have complimented it. I choked up and said I'll come back later and holding in tears I quickly went up the escalator and I heard him say "don't forget to smile." I went home and cried for hours. Fantastic experience today. A HD woman approached me as I got in line and checked me out in the self check out area. As I approached my car (in a handicapped spot) a HD man who was arranging carts approached me and asked if he could help me by putting my bags in my car. I went to get a small plant. I ended up getting several more things I needed that were all very accessible despite my mobility impairment. Thank you Home Depot!! read more

Customer Service/Delivery issues Home Depot and FSA Network On 6/24/17 I received new fridge from HomeDepot. Because of a dent became a loaner until a new one could be delivered. I was asked to show the delivery people where the water needed to be shut off because of the ice maker. the only valve I know to shut off the water was the main valve to my house. I then had to ask help to move the dining room table to make a way for the fridge. The new ice make was not installed in the loaner fridge because the new one will be coming. When the new fridge was installed I signed a paper stating I received the fridge. I received a personal call and did not realize until after they left they never moved the furniture back. About an hour later I realized when I went to wash my hands the water was not turned back on. I went down into the basement and turned it back on. When I came upstairs I heard a noise in the kitchen. I found out the copper pipe that should have been connected to the fridge was pouring out water. I ran downstairs and shut the main valve off. By that time water was dripping from the basement ceiling. After I moved the fridge I mopped water in kitchen, cabinet and rug in den. I have pictures. I called FSA Delivery Service877-946-9843 who told me there should have been a valve just for the ice maker tube. I feel this was not something the consumer would know. I proceeded to find a neighbor to help me find the valve that was not close to where the water was dripping and tucked out of view. He also helped me move the furniture back. I was given 844-652-3105 to file a claim.I bought a Maytag and the number was for GE.Called back FSA and they were closed for the weekend. Monday I got the # for Maytag. Since it was installation and not the product I was referred back to FSA. After speaking with a supervisor I was sent to HomeDepot 1301 Churchman Road,DE 19713. Went there in person and spoke with Chris Gallagher who did not validate any wrong doing only excuses&blamed me. No response as of today 7/5/17 read more
