My wife and I were duped by Lowe's Home Improvement with their promise of a seamless fence installation. We ordered our new privacy fence online, and after a visit from their salesperson, we were assured of a smooth process. We agreed on a price, signed the contract, and paid in full.
What followed was a nightmare. The "installer" they sent was a single individual who clearly lacked the skills and professionalism expected of a contractor. He worked sporadically, often into the night, causing significant delays. The quality of his work was appalling. The fence posts were installed incorrectly, the rails were crooked, and the pickets were poorly spaced and nailed. The gates sag, the top cap is loose, and sections of the fence are leaning.
Lowe's website boasts about their "project team" managing every detail of the installation, allowing customers to "sit back and relax." This was a blatant lie. There was absolutely no oversight from Lowe's during the entire process.
After ten days of enduring this incompetent "installer" and witnessing the destruction of our property, I contacted our salesperson to complain. To my disbelief, Lowe's Installation Support dismissed my concerns, claiming there was nothing wrong with the fence. They refused to send anyone from Lowe's to inspect the damage and even stated that my signature of approval wasn't required.
Our contract clearly states that Lowe's warrants "good and workmanlike manner" in the installation. This was a blatant breach of contract.
I have since sent certified letters of complaint to Lowe's Corporate Customer Service, and the Store Manager. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this issue with Installation Support, Lowe's has completely ignored my complaints.
This experience has been incredibly frustrating and damaging. Lowe's has shown a complete disregard for customer satisfaction and total disregard for the quality of their work. read more
