We waited 10 days and had to purchase wood from a grocery store when we should've had wood already. Four or 5 days after purchasing, the person that answered told my husband that the delivery guy will show up when he shows up, no one knows when, and that if you don't answer the phone you will get skipped on delivery. Second time I called, they say that their truck broke down but they will try to deliver soon, just can't deliver during the winter storm. Third time I called a week later, they say that we should get it within another day. Three more days pass by, which is 10 days after purchase, the delivery guy shows up when I was actually going to call for a cash refund so I can take my business elsewhere. Delivery guy says he had to use his own truck and make 2 trips. Business owner could've rented a U-Haul truck long before making customers wait 10 days. Poor execution of management for wood delivery. Previously, we were told to use a different company but we didn't because we are loyal customers but after this, we won't be back. We sort of explored this business in a round about way, but eventually made it to the front section of the store which is a large room nicely decorated with antiques, collectibles, and melamine dishes... all for sale! When the desks were delivered, they were missing pivotal bolts for assembly. This hindered our establishment immensely, because we needed functional desks for our partners to reopen for business. Bolts were supposed to be FedExed to us, but we did not receive said bolts until January, 2015. We also ordered a bed for our home from the same Havertys located on 34th and Soncy. We were guaranteed delivery on January 5, 2015, anywhere from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. We waited for delivery and received a phone call on January 5, 2015 at 11:15 AM stating that our order had been rescheduled to the following day, January 6, 2015 during the same time window, 9:30 to 11:30 AM. On January 6, 2015, we waited for delivery from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. At 11:32 AM, we called Havertys to inquire about the delay, and were told that they were an hour behind schedule. After having attended a Ritz Carlton Leadership in Customer Service course for our own business, we have very high standards when it comes to this area. We go above and beyond to provide a top of the line experience for our customers, and expect the same when we are the consumers. We had a very disappointing experience with Havertys, and will not recommend them to anyone we know, nor use them ever again.

Like today, I happened to see the white china pencils and remembered that I had wanted to buy one of those. They're only a dollar fifty but I just never happened on to one before and it wasn't a big enough deal to go looking for it. On the way out one of the clerks showed me a black marking pen that was better than a Sharpie for about the same price and he said it writes on anything even if it's wet or oily. That sounded great so I bought one. Maybe I'll even try it for my rock painting that I've just gotten into recently for filling in details. I don't know the price of a lot of things but on the things that I do know the price of I felt like their prices were a little higher than I might pay at other stores but that's usually to be expected from a smaller business versus the box stores. You also can't find a clerk to help you in a big box store like you can in this store. When I finally was ready to get help the young man took me straight to the section where the product would be. I wasn't quite ready to buy yet but I appreciated knowing that they had it and where to find it. I have shopped at Ace Hardware stores in other towns and found good service there too. This one ranks right up with the best of them. And they didn't make me feel like I was a waste of their time just because I was only buying a little bit.
