I don't really understand why this store is reviewed so poorly (under two stars, really?!). I've been shopping here for . . . has it been the entire 25+ years I've lived in this house? A long time, anyhow. Selection is fine. Workers are helpful. Value is generally better than the True Value, although you've got to take that with a grain of salt because TV is a whole lot less hassle than this Lowe's. Look, it's a big box store: I don't know what the people who rate it low expect. The parking lot always feels kind of hazardous owing somewhat to its vaguely poor design and a whole lot to the reckless driving of customers. You don't want to leave valuables visible in your car (duh - this is Albuquerque, if the robot police camera trailer didn't tip you off). There aren't as many staffers around as any of us would like (although there are always some, and they're uniformly helpful). They put Christmas stuff up in September (just got back - it's up). And their boards are all from those crazy bent trees one never finds at a real lumberyard. We've had great installs of appliances and terrible ones - what are you gonna do? But they have a whole lot of what you need, at decent prices. And, if you can figure out where it is (or are lucky enough to snag a salesperson right away), you can get in and out pretty quick. They have a decent garden section. I've found everyone working here to be friendlier than the average big-boxer. This Lowe's is fine - it should be rated at least OK. read more

Mitchell was working in the garden center area when we were in desperate need of assistance. We needed a railroad tie and it was still strapped . He cut it and helped us pick out a good one. He then went the extra mile to wrap some plastic around the ends so That the oily substance on the rail tie would not get on the fabric in my van. I am writing to formally express my frustration and disappointment with my recent experience with Lowe's on Juan Tabo NE (#1543), Albuquerque, NM regarding a dishwasher purchase and the customer service I have received. I purchased a dishwasher online on December 21st with the understanding--based on Lowe's advertisement--that the unit would be delivered and installed within 48 hours. As of today, I am still waiting for the dishwasher to be delivered and installed. The only updates I have received have been the result of my own repeated attempts to contact Lowe's; no proactive communication has been provided. In addition to the excessive delay, my experience with customer service has been extremely disappointing. I have called Lowe's on 3 separate occasions 12/27 (Also went to store in person, spoke with Manager), 12/31, and today 1/2. Today I called Lowe's at approximately 8:40 a.m. seeking assistance with the ongoing issue. I experienced excessive wait times before reaching an employee, and when I did, the interaction was rude, dismissive, and lacked any sense of concern or willingness to assist. During the call, when I requested the employee's first name or employee number so I could maintain continuity while resolving my issue, the employee refused to provide any identifying information. Shortly after making this request, I was abruptly disconnected, as the employee hung up on me. As a customer, I expect professionalism, basic courtesy, and a reasonable effort to help resolve concerns. Unfortunately, today's experience fell well below those expectations. This situation has caused significant inconvenience, especially given the clear delivery and installation timeline that was advertised at the time of purchase. I recently bought a house and wanted to put in a front yard with grass. My landscaper and I looked at sod and found it at this Lowe's. We went to the store and the sod was on a pallet outside. We went through it to make sure the rolls were in good shape and I went in to pay for it to be delivered the next morning. When the truck arrived with the delivery, what was on the pallet was not what I had seen and paid for. The driver said that the rolls had been recounted and repalleted because of a count error. The rolls were still okay so we installed them. As we went along with the work, we started noticing more and more of the rolls looking like they needed CPR. They were dry and cracking with faded color. We could not use these, so we went back the next day to get a refund for 7 rolls that had been too messed up to even consider planting. At the customer service desk, both employees were dismissive and obviously not wanting to help. They expected us to load these rolls into my nice car and bring it back in order to get a refund! My landscaper spoke up and we asked for a manager. We were directed to a nice lady named Karen, who listened and apologized for the problem and refunded me for the 7 rolls. Apparently, we learned that there had been other complaints about the sod, as it was kept outside in the sun and not tended to to keep it viable. FAst forward to today- being new to lawn ownership, I knew at least that the sod needed to be watered and tended to for optimal growth. Most of the yard seemed to be coming in nicely, lush green. Then everything started to go south. These yellow bald spots started appearing, but we did our best to have faith that it would all grow in, even laying grass seed and fertilizer. I first purchased the sod on 13 April and as of today my alleged lawn looks like it has alopecia. The bald spots have appeared exponentially and no amount of patience or fixes is helping. It's quite embarrassing to have people walk by and see it like that. Bottom line is to avoid getting your sod here. There is a local company that is better. read more

NEVER use the Lowe's installers for appliances. I purchased a new dishwasher, and their installer somehow disconnected the garbage disposal so I couldn't clear the clogged line and the dishwasher wouldn't work - water was just backing up into the sink. I wasn't sure if there was other damage, so I wanted them to come back out. I was assured that the installer would come out and fix the problem (one year guarantee on all installations I was told). After more than a week of phone calls, I finally got hold of the installer desk and was told since my problem wasn't with the dishwasher, they wouldn't come out for the garbage disposal - even though their installer took it offline!! The jerk on the phone kept telling me over and over how to crawl under the sink to fix it. I said I'm elderly and unable to crawl under sinks and was told too bad. So I had to call another plumber to come out and fix the problem caused by Lowe's installers. Lowe's for their part aren't concerned. Installation is a separate company - so too bad for me. They've lost my business and I'll tell everyone I know to go to Home Depot. read more

DO NOT TRUST THEIR DELIVERY DEPARTMENT!! The absolute worst. They will lie to you and waste all of your time. I keep trying and trying to give them a chance, but they just can't get it together. My recent issue (and there are several to choose from): -I ordered 90 cement blocks to be delivered on March 25th. I specifically only searched for products that were in stock and had availability to be delivered on the 25th as this was the only day I could receive them. -Monday the 24th I got the usual text messages confirming delivery would be on the 25th. I accepted and confirmed that the 25th is good for me. -Then at 6:30am on the 25th I got an email that the delivery would actually be on the 27th now. That didn't work for me, so I called right away, at 6:45am. I spoke with the delivery team and expressed that delivery after the 25th does not work for me. He put me on hold, spoke with the drivers who were at the store loading the trucks, and he confirmed with me that they were loading the blocks on the truck now and it would be delivered on the 25th. -A few hours go by and I hadn't heard anything, so I called back and spoke to Bobby again. He assured me that the blocks were already loaded onto the truck and out for delivery, I should hear from the driver shortly. -Another 3 hours goes by and nothing. I call back, speak to someone else, and the bocks WERE NEVER LOADED. I guess Bobby was just lying to me, or someone was lying to Bobby. -I then waited 30 minutes to talk with the store manager. All he could tell me was there was a "miscommunication" somewhere and offered me a 10% discount. I didn't need a discount, I needed Lowes to actually come though with a commitment, but once again I was out of luck. I cancelled the order and now ordering through Home Depot, which I should have just done from the start. read more

This must be the worst store in the chain. I was struggling to load a stack of heavy items into my cart. Employees everywhere. No one lifted a finger. The items went flying everywhere. ANOTHER CUSTOMER helped me. Not one employee could be bothered. They were milling about, chatting in groups of four and five. It was difficult to break through their chatting to get help finding anything, at which point I was lucky if they pointed me in the right direction. Same at checkout. Only self checkout was available, no human registers. My items were large and difficult to scan. The guy standing around doing nothing continues doing nothing until I said, loudly, "If no one helps me I'm just leaving these here and going home" at which point he grudgingly scanned them and went back to leaning against the wall. This reflects very badly on store management. I won't be back. The staff at Home Depot only a few miles away goes out of their way to be helpful. read more

The Lowe's by the Walmart off of Bell is probably my second best experience at a Lowe's. They are available to help you with product pricing and much more. They don't fight you like Home Depot. Home Depot is probably more for construction, but like both of these stores, sometimes it has service people right there who are willing to help and are friendly and polite. Other times, you can't find anybody for dust. You just gotta know that that's the way it is. I go to Lowe's a lot primarily because it's right down the street it's close but when I need something for real construction, then I'm something I'm building or needing. so all in all I think Lowe's is a great place. You just gotta know what you're going in there for and if you get there when there's great service count your blessings if you really needing something and nobody's there good luck. One of the items I purchased was tagged as clearance, marked down by a dollar. I double checked the scan code to verify. The higher price came up and I asked the two people up front to correct the price. They said they could not as it wasn't their area to do it. I suggested that they might want to go remove the clearance sticker and they informed me it wasn't their job to do that. Very rude employees, never had this problem at the Paseo store. It took over an hour to find out that one of our two online pickup items wasn't in the store. And after we had waited That long and asked to talk to a manager before leaving, Zoey the manager literally hid behind some shelves right in front of us, trying to research our order instead of coming out to talk to us: for another 15 minutes! We brought in our one pickup item to return it and stood there trying to leave, asking the people behind the counter to just ask Zoey to come out for a moment - after almost 20 additional, unnecessary minutes, she came out and spoke to me like I was a crazy irate customer (I assure you, I have never behaved that way - chief complaint I get is "too nice"). We left the store without saying anything except that I was disappointed. We have no intention of shopping at Lowe's again. I bought all new kitchen appliances. During delivery, my front door was removed. The door handle was broken clean off the door and was laying on the floor. Lowe's hires an independent delivery service and neither has taken responsibility, saying it must have been defective. We had replaced the doorknob in March with a locksmith so there was nothing wrong with it. I am disappointed in the delivery damage but happy with the appliances. Just know that you are on your own if something is damaged and they will never pay for it. As a result, I will buy appliances elsewhere. 4000 dollar purchase, but won't take responsibility for 150 dollars of damage. read more

If I could give this store 0 stars I would I ordered a washer and dryer with other pieces on April 28th for $1888 and I still have yet to use them in May 4th The delivery took 2 weeks.... After fighting with the store They changed the date 3 times without notice when I specified it had to be a weekend and they agreed. Finally got the washer and dryer last Sunday of hours of fighting and disrespectful customer service The guy showed up hooked the dryer up opened the washer and it had a 5 inch dent in the side of it almost the whole way to the top. I had ordered a washer and dryer and had been checking my account to see when the delivery would be scheduled. As of 730 this morning they still showed the order being processed. At 8:05. I received a text that said they were 35 minutes away from delivering, I was on a company phone call and did not see the text until 840. After many calls to finally find a real person, I was told by a supervisor that the item I had ordered wasn't loaded on the truck because it was damaged. They knew this first thing in the morning. The Lowe's on Juan Tabo is ridiculous. I went there for a SKIL leaf blower that was part of Lowe's Spring Fest sale. Arrived there and discovered that none of their blowers were marked down to the Spring Fest prices advertised. I pointed this out to customer service who were completely unaware of the sale and couldn't even find it in their system. So they advised me to purchase it through the app in order to get the sale price on the leaf blower. I did so, and then was told I would have to come back to pick the item up even though there were plenty of them stocked on the shelf. This was because their pickup department had only 1 person working there, and he was behind on fulfilling online orders. And they then told me it could take this guy anywhere from 4 minutes to 4 hours to process my order??? So I left the store to go to the one on Paseo del Norte. And guess what that store actually had marked down all the blowers for Spring Fest sale as advertised. So I canceled my online order for pickup, and purchased my item at the Paseo store instead. My advice don't shop at the Juan Tabo Lowe's store. You'll end up wasting an hour trying to get what you want. read more

Employees in Customer Service laugh and chat with each other while you wait for them to acknowledge you, and they then get on the phone or look away or walk out of the area and pretend to be occupied when you approach the counter. If you call, Customer Service transfers you to numbers that ring nonstop. Employees who might rarely answer a phone call hate customers, are rude, mumble, don't care, don't help, show irritation with questions, are entirely uncooperative.
