I've always enjoyed their fried chicken and picked up an eight piece box today. After I left, I decided to have a piece. The first piece I picked up (see picture) didn't have any meat left on it; it had been fried off. I came back to let them know. I took the single piece of burnt crust and bones in and spoke to the young girl behind the manager's desk. She was dismissive, offered no apology, and no remedy. I felt sorry because if this had been my first experience with their chicken, it would be my last. Her flippant attitude is the reason for the one star.

The real kicker was when he asked if the woman I was with was my mother. Which I responded "yes". Then he said "I don't like your tone with her". I didn't realize I was in a therapy session. Obviously I will be going to Krogers or Publix after this.

Not only did she get all of my prescriptions lined up so they all renew at the same time, but she helped me with a prescription that was running out and was not up for renewal yet. This woman had the patience of a saint... friendly, attentive, and made sure that everything was all set up before I left the counter. I just wanted to take this moment for a "shout out" to this wonderful young lady.

We grabbed some beautiful t-bones for $12.98/lb. The place is huge. It has everything..including hot and cold bars. It even has an olive bar. The cheese selection wasn't the best. I did have an Ingles brand chocolate bar, and it was legit. The tiny town of Blue Ridge is lucky to have a place like this. No town of similar size has grocery like that in my state.

Great Deli Service, but Disappointing Self-Checkout Experience…read more​I stopped into Ingles today and received great service at the deli. However, my checkout experience was very disappointing. ​When I went to the self-checkout, my hands were full holding hot food plates, and I was trying to find a place to put them down while bagging. Instead of offering a hand, the young employee monitoring the area just stood there, watched me struggle, and laughed. To make matters worse, the checkout system repeatedly glitched, and her attitude remained dismissive and unhelpful throughout the process. ​Southern hospitality means lending a helping hand when you see someone struggling--a simple "May I help you?" or "Let me scan that for you" would have turned the whole situation around. While this is the primary grocery store in town and I will continue to shop here out of necessity, customer service like this needs to be addressed. Next time an employee sees a customer struggling with their hands full, offering support should be the default response, not standing by and laughing.
