I enjoy taking my dogs there. The staff is professional and always very helpful and attentive. This last time, I saw a new vet, Dr. Kerry, and she was wonderful! I intend to keep up my affiliation with this veterinary practice. read more

My pet Danny was diagnosed with dry tear ducts She has to be on medicine the rest of her life go to get it refilled. Oh, she's got to be seen again. Why does she have to be seen again? Apparently it's all about money they want. They already told me it was for life that I try to get a prescription. They said they had to be seen again. That is wrong apparently they care way more about their pockets than they do their pet. I'm gonna find a different vet. That's bull crap read more

The vets here have been kind, compassionate, thorough and flexible. Love them. They have gotten us in very quickly and even got us meds for the 4th of July at 4pm on the 3rd read more

We used to love this vet. Until our last encounters, last year the vet was so rude to me as I brought our dog in. More recent we made an appointment for our dog Who's having troubles explained three times prior to the appointment we wanted him fixed along with his Check. Absolutely money hungry! Wanted us to pay for x-rays, but couldn't explain what next steps would be after x-rays were found! Couldn't treat him beyond that, Refused to do the neuter claiming that they didn't have time. Even though we didn't do the X-rays so the should have had time, wanted to do $200 vitals in case of dehydration even though we explained he was still eating and drinking , next claim " he's coming out of sedation" and we don't have time. OUTRAGEOUS. WE'LL BE SHARING THIS EXPERIENCE WITH ANYBODY THAT ASKS FOR A LOCAL VET TO stay CLEAR OF THIS CLINIC. Additionally, tried to prescribe antibiotics but couldn't tell us why he needed them as he didn't have any kind of Infection. read more

I've been here for the last 2 years and have decided to seek a different vet for my dog. Today's checkup and shot visit didn't even have the vet come in he room to look at her. I had asked last time if they would check her for an ongoing discharge but they said I'd have to make a separate appointment just to have them look at her. So this is the second visit without care so will find someone who will. read more

Our dog had a skin tag removed by another vet, Vet X, from her lower back leg that had to be dug out. Vet X left our dog with a raw, red, oozing site, said some oozing was ok, & sent her home with no e-collar. 3 days later the skin around the site rolled back to the meat. We brought her to Low. Col. Vet. & they fixed the poorly closed wound completely, put an e-collar on automatically, & sent us home with anti-biotics & anti-inflammatory pills. They treated our dog with care & professionalism and repaired what could've been a serious problem caused by Vet X. Thank you so much! read more

I've had dogs my whole life and have never been so put off by a vet. Julia was rude and impatient. She doesn't seem like she particularly likes dogs or people to be honest. We went there because we were told first visit was free for humane society pups. I also stated this on the phone when I scheduled the appointment with them. They refused to honor it. Will never bring my dog back there. The tech was really sweet though. read more

Well it's taken a few years and a few new pets to finally post about our sweet Shadow. She passed away when Covid first hit. It was a very scary time. LCV were there for us in our last moments with our girl. They were so kind, gentle and I'll never forget the care for not only Shadow but her parents too(us). It was one of the saddest days of our life but the staff all were so wonderful to us and it eased the pain. We have since moved but still love our vet clinic in Washington. Highly recommend! read more

Lower Columbia Veterinary Clinic - Our last photo together as a family - Veterinarians Near Me - Longview, Washington

The care is adequate for the reason we came in, but the practices are questionable. They wouldn't let me be with my dog for an exam. Had me wait in a small room while they took her elsewhere for the exam... No real reason why. But I had to stay in the room and wait. I wasn't allowed to take my mask off even when I was in the room alone, a sign on the wall said. Why? Again, unsure considering I'm by myself. I didn't have the paperwork yet for my new dog at the time, but they told me they wouldn't see her again because they required a rabies shot to even see an animal, no matter if you want one or not. Whose dog is this again? I took my business to valley vet in rainier. They're very respectful of pet owners preferences and aren't weird about any of the other stuff I mentioned. read more

I had the most amazing experience at Lower Columbia Vet, I cannot thank them enough for their kindness, compassion and help. I called and emailed over 30+ vets and urgent cares after my bf's dog needed an emergency surgery while he was out of town. Everywhere was booked out for months, no one was willing to help. I got so lucky when I contacted Lower Columbia Vet, they were able to get her in same day which was absolutely amazing. They saved her life and I am so grateful. Every single one of the staff was wonderful and kind to me and Lucky the dog. :) I am so glad that I can feel safe knowing I have an amazing vet to take my dogs to if anything ever happens. Thanks again! read more

I had to put my childhood kitty down on 12/4. It was very sudden and heartbreaking. Dr. Alpert was so kind and so compassionate with me and my kitty, she gave me all the options I had for treating her without any implicit bias. The receptionist cried with me, too. All the techs are wonderful. read more

I went the this clinic with my grandfather and the vet that assisted us was very disrespectful. I will say the assistant was a sweeet heart. The main vet was talking very obnoxiously over my grandpa when he politely told her he had to answer a quick phone call to tell the person that he's busy. Julia then proceeded to obnoxiously raise her voice and say she's gonna talk over him anyways. I also caught her in a lie to upsell when bringing up the flea medication saying you literally can only purchase it at a vet. Yet when the assistant came in she said we can actually order it on chewy.com. I don't appreciate the disrespect and lack of patience for the elderly when you should know that elderly people need more patience. We won't be going back. read more

Amazing vet! They take great care of my pup and always make sure we are up to date on anything she needs!

New Vet - Do Not Recommend. The clinic has experienced turnover it seems and we saw the new vet Julia Alpert. The real issue was her lack of bedside manner, to myself and my pet and the inability to be patient and kind, and clear unwillingness to proactively communicate important information surrounding care and treatment plan. When asked questions she would constantly interrupt and her attitude and body language was that she was frustrated to be answering questions and taking time to speak with me. I would not recommend this vet. We've had better experiences in Vancouver, Portland, and other states. I rarely post poor reviews, but our visit was so poor that it warranted one being shared. read more

This vet clinic is amazing!! We started taking our Great Dane puppy here as soon as we got her at 8 weeks. The staff was always friendly, knowledgeable, professional and very caring. We were out of the country when our 6 month puppy became sick, while at a boarding facility. Lower Columbia was able to work her into their busy schedule and stabilized her, until she could be transferred to emergency veterinarian. I cannot recommend this vet clinic enough. Zoey and all the front staff were amazing, during a very difficult time. Dr. Dawson went above and beyond to care for our sweet puppy, we cannot thank her enough for all she did for our puppy. If you are looking for a vet clinic to treat your pets as if they were their own Lower Columbia is the right place read more

I took my cat in for some end of life care. The staff here was absolutely fantastic! My poor kitty got so scared that she freaked out and scratched the staff a little. The were so nice and caring through it, even trying to verbally comfort her while she had her teeth in them. I couldn't ask for more. I returned a few weeks later to put my cat to sleep and they were once again super caring and nice. They sent a card to my home as well. From the Vet, to the Vet Assistant and the person at the front desk, I appreciate you all so much! It makes tough times easier to handle. read more

We've taken several pets to the clinic, and, despite a huge staff turnover recently, the experiences have usually been very good. My main criticism is the price. The costs are very, very expensive compared to other clinics. I've never even seen the owner, but she is definitely making a lot through this business. Example, I was quoted $350-$500 to spay our kitty with a 6 week wait for the surgery. I took her elsewhere for the surgery because they could take her in one week and it only cost $218, including exam and microchipping. That's a huge difference. So, while the service is good, it isn't worth their prices. read more

Lower Columbia Veterinary Clinic is by far the best I've ever been to. They show compassion and kindness in every aspect. The vets, vet techs, office staff, everyone -- they are ALL amazing. I normally don't write reviews but based on my experiences here, I would completely recommend them and give the highest of ratings. Thank you all there at Lower Columbia Vet for being amazing and compassionate about what you do! read more

The doctor here in her own words said" I understand you want that done but here we do what we think is best not the pet owner" I would highly recommend you drive the distance to any other vet office around you'll have a better experience I know I will never go back here! read more

Good vet clinic. My dog is not mad when we were taken care of. My female is very female. She is hard to work with. Old vet had to muddle and strap her home. Not here. Nice, warm vets. read more

I had been taking my pets here ever since they opened at their old location. They were amazing during the declining years of my dog at the time. They even offered in home euthanasia for the comfort of your animal. I know they are in business to make money. However, I regret to say that I have really noticed a decline in caring about the animals and are heavily focused on selling whatever overpriced gimmick of the week. It's a different vet every time I go there because of the turnover. The last straw was when I went to get my 90 pound dog neutered and was told it was gonna be 800 dollars including the microchipping. I am willing to pay a more for quality service but not 3 times what everyone else is charging. read more

We've moved a lot and that's led us to a lot of veterinarians. The team here is the best. They are kind, compassionate, and professional. We've had a difficult to handle dog there, and they treated him perfectly, and then our dog who thinks the vet is better than going to the park. They've been able to help make sense of my dog's funky allergy issues and offer some reasonable options that have worked! I love taking my pets here, this is the type of Veterinarian practice I look for and I know they are hard to come by. We're lucky to have them in Longview! read more

I have been very happy with their services. One of the only vets I have been in that doesn't smell horrible too. The staff has gone out of the way to help our family and I appreciate them. read more

Let me start by saying this isn't our normal vet. Our vet unfortunately is booked months out for spays and neutering. We tried LCV because they assured us over and over we could get our dog spayed within the 8 weeks before we leave on vacation. Low and behold after our non-refundable $110 visual screening that you have to pay to even schedule they can't get us in before we leave anymore. Not only are they one of the most expensive places around they lied to get ourmoney. We were willing to accept the $800 spay fee to get our dog ready before we left. Unfortunately that won't be happening and we're out $110. read more

You can find a more compassionate, experienced and educated vet elsewhere. They want to sedate animals just to give them an exam when it is not necessary. They definitely show signs they are all about the money and not the animal. This place used to be good but not anymore. All pets do not need a yearly exam or vaccinations. Research. read more

Nice people, very nice people...but do not see reality in dealing with animals that live in rural environments. They are quick to offer not-so-bright suggestions, yet have no real answers when dealing with outside felines. read more

We are new to town and needed to find a new vet. This is a very friendly and professional team. Our dog is a therapy dog and we are required to have a yearly physical. Lower Columbia Veterinary Clinic will be our go to vet. read more

I get such amazing care for my dog here! They provide you with the best care, give you options and treat even the most anxious dogs with kindness! It's always clean and no matter which vet, tech or office staff assist us I feel respected and that they have our best interest in mind. Today we saw Dr. Gilbertsen and once again I walked out of there knowing this team loves what they do! read more

We've been through a LOT of veterinarians... I was starting to get a Ph.D. in firing vets and was getting really exasperated with our new dog. We've had dozens of vets for our horses and cat over the years and have found precious few "good ones" in the bunch. (The Clackamas VCA clinic of specialists and ER is a terrific one too - but they don't do routine care.) I wish I could give this clinic more than five stars, they are THAT good. Everyone at our appointment was exceptionally kind to our anxious, shy dog and took their time to work with his issues to help him feel more confident. Our new vet took the time to explain several different issues in a way that makes sense to both of us. She recommended quite a variety of things, but left all the choices to us with no pressure. We left in amazement that a clinic like that really exists. We also received a call (from the VET!) the next business day with the test results and further instructions per our discussion earlier. But it didn't end there. A few days later our dog was injured. I walked in without an appointment to see if they had a recommendation on how to help him. Within ten minutes he was examined by the vet to try to find his mechanism of injury and I was given some medicine to help him (which was free of charge as it was a 7-day "sample"). We are absolutely over the moon with this clinic and would strongly encourage anyone else to bring their pet in. read more

New to town, have been to this one twice now. Very clean and super friendly staff. My animals felt comfortable which is huge to me. The fees seem high compared to others around, but you get what you pay for as the saying goes, its worth the peace of mind. Yes I will go back. Thank you to the Dr and staff, my animals are happy and healthy read more

The staff is so friendly and genuinely care for your animals. Every visit, the doctor spent so much time with my dog and took the time to explain everything to me in detail. It is a little more on the expensive side compared to other Veterinary offices I've taken my dogs too, but it is worth the extra money! Highly recommend Dr. Martzall! read more

Just wanted to spread the word at the absolute fantastic experience we had with Lower Columbia veterinary Clinic! We took our very beloved dog to them on 2 hours notice (when I could not get in to two other local places) Our poor little guy was very very sick with an incredibly rare problem. We ended up seeing both vets at different times and were blown away with the compassion and knowledge they both gave us. They didn't sugar coat anything for us, We knew our dog was in big trouble. After a few tests and some research on the best course of action, they put him on medication. After 2 1/2 weeks I am happy to say he's almost back to himself. There staff is fantastic, extremely friendly and the clinic itself was spotless every time we were there. I am so very thankful for them!! read more

Great care for my kitty Julian. They let me know all my options and what each would cost versus the benefit it would be to my cat. Great Service! read more

So good and compassionate! The only flaw was referring us to the Costco Vancouver clinic. Would have been better to put us out of our misery here than the impersonal Vancouver clinic. Dr. Stacy was the best on a terrible day! read more

I would NEVER RECOMMEND using this clinic! EVER! All they want is your money. The owner of this business only cares about charging ridiculous prices for their services and nothing ever gets resolved. All they want to do is prescribe medications that cause awful side effects to put a Band-Aid over the underlying causes of symptoms. I took my dog in to get checked out and the veterinarian told me had a ear infection and prescribed a heavy anabiotic and steroid drops for his ears. Without even doing a test. I took him to another vet for a second opinion and all he had was just some built up earwax and no infection. This is happened before at this clinic and they don't do a thorough job. Like I said they just want your money. I've heard this same story from other friends with dogs and they will not go to this clinic anymore. Don't let the nice image this clinic puts on full you. I really don't like writing negative reviews but I feel others should be warned. read more

My husband and I nervously took our older dog in to get an assessment of her many tooth issues. We decided to pull 3 of her teeth that day and Dr. White, Dana, and Mimi all took exceptional care of us. Dr. White explained the procedure well, allowing us to make an informed decision, and was very understanding and patient with our questions. Dana was very courteous and helpful, and Mimi, Dr. White's assistant, was very helpful as well, calling us the next day to check on our dog. We left feeling much better than when we came in and today, the day after her operation, our dog is looking healthy and happy. We recommend them for their expertise and obvious attention to providing great customer service. read more
