We took my sister to Lowcountry Produce for lunch. I had a chicken Philly sandwich. It was so tasty. The star was onion rings. So delicious and crispy. My daughter ordered them with her seafood, but we were all stealing them from her. HAHA. The ladies who served us were efficient and friendly. We all loved the lovely old tables and vintage baskets and other items. The canned products looked fabulous! All kinds of jellies, pickled veggies, home made tomato sauce. So many yummy items. Passed by here so many times. Didn't know they served food. We were on our way home from a hike with the dogs when we realized that we pretty much passed all the food choices and there wasn't much left. We stopped in and so glad we did! Good food, fresh, delicious! Had salmon BLT, bird dogs, and chicken club with potato salad, onion rings and broccoli raisin salad. Everything was perfect. Prices very reasonable. We make a point of stopping at Lowcountry Produce & GRILL every time we're in South Carolina to deer hunt (Aug.-Dec.). The people are friendly and so welcoming but it's the food that brings us back time after time, it never fails to impress. Favorites include salmon BLT, fried seafood platter with the freshest shrimp, oysters and flounder - we've never had a bad meal. The portions are big, the prices are fair for what you get. Such a delicious spot for a solid burger! My friend and I went on our break so we ordered ahead. Each of us had a juicy burger and delicious fries. We also love that Lowcountry produce has several local jams, jellies, and other food and non-food items for sale. The restaurant itself was quiet and rustic. Very clean! We love going to Lowcountry Produce for breakfast. The food is great (try a glazed yeast donut), and the atmosphere is perfect (think historical register, with a coastal flair). It's usually busy, but always worth the wait. We bring our family when they visit, too. read more

Lowcountry Produce's farm stand location is a gem. Hands down, the Ooey Gooey Chicken Sandwich is the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. The thick bacon is divine and the sweet zing of the pepper jelly is just.the.best!!!! At $14 it feels like a lot but hey what isn't kinda expensive these days. Plus their sweet tea always hits the spot. They have an outdoor patio and allowed me to bring my dog to dine outside or do call ahead pick-up orders. 5/5, trust me. This is a wonderful place! Everything I have tasted is delicious! There pimiento cheese is out of this world. There hamburgers are cooked perfectly with a juicy interior & a well seasoned & crusty exterior. The only downfalls are they don't serve fries, but instead chips & they could really use some A/C in the dining area, as the packed crowds & hot food, don't compliment each other well! I've been to this place multiple times for pumpkins produce and boiled peanuts. I do like the small town feeling this place provides, but it is very overpriced. I feel like this place at one point was affordable to the average consumer, But now it's more of a tourist attraction and the prices have been raised. I just stopped by for some boiled peanuts and they were closed even though online it says they are open until 5. It's not a holiday. The boiled peanuts during spring and summer are great but it's very frustrating going to a place that says open but is closed. I find a lot of small businesses like this have gotten away from where they came from. read more

Terrible service! So sad! We used to love this place. Server acted like we were putting her out by asking for anything. 1 out of 6 orders were correct. They didn't have tea refills. The server didn't seem to understand very well and needed serious guidance. This will be a take out option only from now on. Lowcountry Produce has transitioned to focus more on their little restaurant than selling fresh produce. I recently stopped by here to pick up some fresh produce, but all I could find were pumpkins. Huge lovely pumpkins, but no produce to eat. They do sell lots of their own jarred items, breads, cakes, pies, pimento cheese, chicken salad. Come here to sit on the porch and eat. I had been a patron of this store/restaurant for many years until this past Friday, July 31. My daughter and her friend from college were visiting me and we decided to go here for lunch. After ordering two salads and a shrimp sandwich, items that should have taken less than 30 minutes to prepare and serve, we still had not been served our food after 45 minutes of waiting. Upon asking the waitress to check on the status of our food she stated "they're cooking the steak now. They got backed up on to go orders." The steak that was ordered for one of the salads was ordered medium rare. After another 10 minutes of waiting I approached the person behind the cash register who had just served people that had come in 30 minutes after we did. This person, who was approximately 20 to 22 years old. became extremely rude and belligerent. She told me that we could just "get gone." When I asked to speak to a manager she stated "you're speaking to someone." I have never been treated so rudely in my life, and I called and texted two of the others of this establishment to let them know how horrible that experience was. I received a voicemail message back from one of the owners who stated that he was going to look into the situation and speak with the manager who was on duty. I never received another phone call back and if there was a manager on duty that day he or she certainly did not approach me to find out what the problem was. Awful awful experience. read more

Me and my 3 Kids waited over a hour for our food. I was told we would be compensated for our long wait. I hadnt complained. But of course we were not compensated in any way. I paid 48 dollars to wait over an hour‍. The excuse was they had never been that busy. I've been there before when it was busier, so that was BS. My favorites: red tomato chow chow, creole sauce, raspberry pepper preserves, and pickled green tomatoes. The burgers are freshly made and simply delicious. Love love love this cute little place. They have prepared food for purchase, homewares, and a restaurant so you can dine in. We've been to their sister restaurant in downtown beaufort but we decided to stop at this location on New Year Eve. We both ordered seafood and grits and we both really enjoyed our food. I also had a small side of their broccoli salad, which was delicious. Upon walking in they had a sampling of their pepper relish (made in their onsite cannery) and homemade chips, the relish was sweet and super delicious, so I purchased a jar and a bag of chips to take home. The woman who took our order was so sweet and mentioned that they recently opened for dinner on Saturdays even giving us a peek at their new dinner menu. This is our new go to location!! read more

For years this was the best produce stand around but now it is awful, mostly a bad sandwich shop. The amount of produce is pitiful and they seem to be out of most of the items they claim to sell in the signs out front. What they do have isn't very good. We had chicken pot pie but it was awful, made with canned soup and a ton of salt. The staff was pretty snooty, so much for Southern hospitality. read more

My boyfriend and I love to eat breakfast out at the store in Lobeco. They opened up the store downtown yesterday and a friend of mine and I ate breakfast there this morning. The food is soooooo delicious. The owners and staff are as friendly as could possibly be. Prices are Wonderful!
