This was my second time using Passport Health, and it will definitely be my last. The service is…read moreshockingly expensive and seems far more focused on making money than genuinely ensuring health and safety. On my most recent visit, I was completely misled. I was provided with a list of "recommended" vaccines, which I declined (because of my prior experience), but was then told that a yellow fever vaccination was required for entry into Senegal. Trusting their expertise, I complied and paid $475 for the vaccine. Initially, I was annoyed by the cost of the vaccine and decided to check for Yelp reviews. The negative reviews prompted me to verify this information from the U.S. State Department website: "Evidence of yellow fever vaccination is required for entry into Senegal for travelers arriving from yellow fever endemic countries." This did not apply to my situation at all and as far as I know the United States is not embroiled in a Yellow Fever epidemic. As a result, I felt completely misled and outrageously overcharged. In addition, I also paid nearly $200 for malaria pills, which could have been obtained through a prescription from my primary care physician at a much more affordable cost. I will not use this service again. There are better, more affordable options available, including your primary care physician, local pharmacies, and health departments. At the very least, do your own research and due diligence before trusting Passport Health's recommendations and having the contents of your wallet needlessly depleted. I ultimately recognize this experience as another cautionary tale about the importance of consumer education and understanding that doing your own research is a prerequisite, not an afterthought. I forgot that this time, and while I walked away with a valuable lesson, they walked away with my valuable money.

Which is ridiculous and why give us false information over the phone for the price? I don't appreciate it. No one should be treated like this when getting seen by a facility. If they would have been just honest and given us the right information, we wouldn't have had this problem. It's disappointing.

Cancer. The diagnosis is one no one wants. The entire journey from diagnosis to treatment choices is no easy journey by any means and finding providers with friendly employees and facilities that offer a wide variety of services is crucial to your physical, mental and emotional health. The Cancer Center at Community North is one place that I was surprised by and truly pleased with. I am far from impressed with the health care system in America so I felt it was very important to provide a review. From the moment we walked in, my family was treated with exceptional care from each and every employee we came in contact with. From the first employees at check in who gave us a overview of information of care to even providing us with financial assistance information at the front desk we felt a sense of genuine caring. Finally someone understands that the journey is not simple nor inexpensive and they offer you help up front instead of shocking you with medical expenses that you probably will not be financially prepared for unless you have medical emergency funds saved up for catastrophic health issues. Once we check in and knew where to go next, we met awesome nurses, care coordinators and doctors that did not rush us with helping us to understand all of the treatment options available and who encouraged us to take a few moments to think about what was best for our family. Even at check out we were not just directed on how to figure out how to get to check out. Our care coordinator escorted us to the check out and encouraged us to contact her at anytime with any questions, reaching our doctors, setting appointments, etc. If every medical facility ran as great as the Cancer Center, I guarantee the health care system would be so much better for everyone. They are a shining example of what other health care facilities and health care employees should be striving to be like!

We checked in at registration and were then escorted upstairs. All of the staff and nurses introduced themselves and explained each step of the day and what would happen next so we were always prepared. The whole experience was very efficient. The surgery lasted only 15 or so minutes and we were out the door a few minutes later. On the second floor, there is complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate for those who accompany patients. There is also a TV on the second level. The third level waiting area is a little quieter. The lobby has an atrium in the middle that is open to all floors so you can hear all the noise happening across all 3 levels. There is a cafe on the 2nd floor as well, but the hours are only 9:30am-1:30pm Monday-Friday. Looks like they have soups, sandwiches, bagels, etc. as well as canned, bottled, and fountain drinks. The only negative was I noticed the "patient visitor representative" was just sitting at the desk watching videos on his phone. That is a pet peeve of mine, at least pretend to work while you're at work. There was a lot of signage around so everyone should be able to navigate around anyway.

I have mixed feelings about Northpoint. I have struggled with the way we have been treated by our…read moreselected pediatrician. She is nice, and she knows what she's doing, but I do not feel she has made my children priority. I have a few examples, one is she saw them for a well child while also being sick, I watched her walk out and go home for the day after our appointment. I don't feel my kids were given a fair appointment. Most recently I asked for an evaluation to be done on one of my kids and also asked for another child to be seen based on her Nero referring us back. I asked for both of these on the same day in May. I was contacted, given an appointment for my daughter, with only options on Thursday's, and told I would receive a separate call for my sons appointment. It's Aug 22nd and had no appointment for my son until complaining. Since though, I've received a letter that my doctor is retiring, she'll continue to see us through the end of the year (on a limited schedule - I'm adding the sarcastic remark), and my kids will be transitioned to other doctors based on gender. I just feel things could be handled better! My responsibility is that I could have followed up more, I will admit I had a part here too. Have I had billing issues, yes! I encourage everyone to review your EOBs! The person coding has no idea what happened in that room and is tasked with finding a way to get as many billable codes submitted as possible. Our responsibility is to review and bring up discrepancies. You may disagree, but this is where we are in the world! Northpoint is no different than most other facilities. Patient responsibility in managing our share is part of it. There have been great things happen with Northpoint and that is why I give them 3 stars. My son was seen by a male dr who got him into a great pulmonologist, who helped us solve so many undiagnosed issues! Both of my daughters ear issues, including multiple sets of tubes have been handled well. They room us fast, the MAs are always kind and I felt they addressed COVID well. The ability to have weekend appointments has been very helpful, I used this option more when my kids were younger. Northpoint is a larger practice and has the feel of the large practice without the technology. By that I mean, no ability to have full connection to Community My Chart and the options on their online portal is clunky. The proximity to Community Hospital and the fact the drs round at Community is a perk! Overall, we know that we will get the care we need at Northpoint, and that is what is most important.

He's so great with my son, always has great insight, and is just an all around breath of fresh air. I highly recommend this practice, and, if you can get Dr. Nanagas as your child's pediatrician, you'll have an all-around exceptional experience!

Whether I called in, I either was able to talk to a staff member on my initial call or received a telephone call back promptly if I needed to leave a message. The staff does not assume every patient uses MyChart and asks how patients would like to receive information. I do use MyChart and prefer it but I am also cognizant that there are patients who may not like using technology to interact with their healthcare team. The nurses made sure that I not only understood preoperative procedures but also what I could expect up until I saw the doctor and post-operative instructions. I did not feel rushed during my time there. They are very organized and all employees work together well making sure they have each other's back. If they ever perform the wrong procedure on a patient due to a patient identification mix-up, I would be shocked because each employee asked me for my patient information well as why I was being seen. If you are the type of patient that gets annoyed with this, realize they are doing their job and making sure everything is done correctly to the right patient. This is a good thing! Dr. Bhagatwala was personable, thorough, and efficient which helped me feel at ease over a nerve-racking procedure. He went over my procedure before having me sign a consent form. This is how this process should go. He explained what was done to my designated driver (required for some procedures) and told me when I should return to the office. I was under moderate sedation so my most vivid interactions with him were up to the IV sedative administration. After my procedure, my DD was advised where to pick me up and the last employee that I interacted with made sure that I got into the car safely. They have an entrance for going and a secondary exit for post-op patients. Note: I had an early morning procedure.

It's an above average waiting room in terms of size and variety in seating choices, but not revolutionary. Plenty of magazines to choose from. You won't be bored. The bathrooms are spacious and single person. There was never a line for the two doors. The staff was nice when we walked in. Accomodating. Even the nurses handled my friend with care. The doctor was a bit brief with the prognosis, but that seems to happen across the board with doctors... All in all a GREAT outpatient care center. Clean and well furnished.
